Plantain & Coconut shrimp sushi roll

After a year of living in the area, I finally made it to Toca Vez last night, and let me tell you: it was worth the wait! My 3 friends and I shared the short rib empanadas, plantain and coconut shrimp sushi, and the guacamole. Each plate was more delectable than the next. I had a "Cowboy Killer" drink (jalapeño margarita) and it was just the right amount of spicy. For dinner, I had the colossal shrimp risotto which came with some lobster bits. I loved it. My friends had some steak and pork chops and said they came out perfectly as well. For dessert, we shared the skillet cookie. It was to die for. There was a huge lump of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on top that balanced out the heat of the cookie. Yum! I definitely recommend going to Toca Vez and can't wait to go back!

Inconspicuous restaurant along a local highway but it gets packed in here! They do have mandatory valet parking which was odd since there is plenty of space for cars. Service was friendly and the inside space was large with different rooms. 1. Oysters - Good variety and fresh. 2. Caesar salad - Lots of sauce on this, came with grated parm strips. Overall simple but good. Large dish. 3. Lobster Quesadilla - Very good and loads of flavor here. Lobster was not overpowering. 4. Empanadas - Crunchy, came out hot, good flavor with dipping sauce. 5. Ribeye - Cooked as ordered. Can be salty but very good flavor! 6. Lobster tail - Loads of meat and flavor. Can be a standalone if you don't want red meat. 7. Layered chocolate cake - Good rich chocolate cake. Not too heavy but by the time we reached this, had to take a good portion home. Very good though! 8. Churros - Comes out hot and covered with sugar and cinnamon. Delicious and sweet. Overall an excellent first time trying this restaurant. Would say it's modern Latin. It is very good for the area it's located in! I will be back.

Great decor, amazing food.. yummy cocktails... only complaint is that it is very loud (hard to have conversation) but everything else was a 10/10! Will be back

Our first time here - fun vibe ( a little LOUD) but we met a group of friends who suggested meeting here for dinner. We were a Large group but they took good care of us- being attentive and accommodating with any food allergies. When we arrived our table was a bit delayed bc of other patrons but they kept apologizing and were very considerate and brought us some items once we sat down to make up for it. We had an array of apps, drinks, bottles of wine, mixed drinks, entrees, and dessert. The street corn side, creamed spinach side and oh, that apple crumb dessert was especially delicious too. Everything was very fresh and enjoyable. We noticed it seemed to be a big birthday celebration place as well.

Debatably one of the best steakhouses in Central Jersey. This was my second time dining at Toca Vez and it was just as memorable as the first. What a beautifully designed restaurant. The decor is fun and inviting. The restaurant is clean and cozy. The servers are wonderful. Very attentive and detail oriented. The food is absolutely delicious. They have a wide range of options on their menu from tacos to seafood towers. Our group shared the calamari and queso to start. For mains we shared a couple of their Cowboy cut steaks, the perfect combination of marbleization and tenderness, cooked to a perfect medium temperature. The sides were also very complimenting. I highly suggest ordering the lobster Mac n cheese! This is the perfect place for any occasion including a date night or a celebration. Complimentary valet parking is also available adding an extra special touch of luxury to your experience!

This is a high end steakhouse with some Mexican influences. The lobster empanadas were just ok, hardly any lobster in it. Oysters were fresh, delicious and not too briny. I had a nice thick cut Kansas dry aged steak griiled medium. This steak had an excellent dry aged flavor, super juicy and not chewy at all. The sides were excellent. We had haricot vert, truffle Mac, asparagus. For dessert, the chocolate cake and churros were just mediocre. The service was great. I'll be back to try other items on the menu soon.

Came here for my birthday dinner with my husband. The service and the food quality (and quantity!)-top notch, would come again. Our only beef was that there's a mandatory valet parking onsite (I drive a stick shift so that "allowed" us to self park since none of the staff knew how to drive one,ha!),though most customers would likely appreciate this perk, and just how dark it is inside once seated at the table...I had to turn on my phone's light to read out of the menu, which is ridiculous, but quite common in many restaurants these days (I get it but I don't...you know what I mean?..). So not only is difficult to read what you'll eat, see what you eat but also really poor lighting to take any quality pictures. Other than that, superb place for an occasion, and I even got free ice cream with a candle to blow given it was my birthday. Ah yes,our order consisted of a few apps (empanadas, shrimp ceviche and birria tacos) and I had a Blueberry Smash cocktail-everything was yummy.

We went to celebrate a birthday and the restaurant was very nice inside. The vibes were good and it was packed. The complimentary chips and salsa were great and fresh. Got tried a couple drinks and they were good but a little over priced. We got the side of truffle Mac and cheese which was delicious. I would go back just for that. The yuca fries were good but the sauce was too spicy. The pork chop was one of the best I've had and cooked very well. It came with sweet potato which was good but a little too sweet with the maple sauce on the pork chop. The scallops were delicious and cooked well but I was disappointed that it did not come with risotto like the menu online. Over $40 for 4 scallops with edamame and corn is a little expensive I think. Lastly we were disappointed by the service. I understand the restaurant was full but we had two servers and they disappeared after we received our food. We were there for almost 3 hours. I would try again and hope the service is better.

I love the modern design of the restaurant, especially the bar. The ambiance was also very good. Looking at the food, the apps were fairly strong. My family and I shared the short rib tacos which were packed with flavor, the thick cut bacon which was super juicy, and the queso dip which was good but not great. I ordered the short rib as my main which absolutely melts in your mouth and is super tender. The red wine sauce was a bit strong and seemed like it needed to be reduced a tad bit more, but that might just be personal preference. The mashed potatoes that came with it were great. I tried the sea bass and chicken that my family members ordered, both of which were also great. The food was very strong and the service was fast and friendly. I would definitely come back. Food: 4.6/5 Service and ambiance 5/5

I highly recommend this restaurant and want to go back to try other items! The chips and salsa were complimentary; the salsa had a slight kick. Such good chips! My weakness! I ordered a classic margarita with LALO tequila which is my new fav tequila. The other drink was called something with Cowboy in the name and it was not good. The stuffed mushroom were so different but sooooo tasty! The ceaser salad was basic (as it should be). I love the sauce the short rib tacos came with. Absolutely delicious! The service was great. When we first sat down at the bar it needed to be cleaned and once it was they didn't do a good job. I was able to over look that but I can see someone being upset over that due to it not being cleaned properly. The bar itself was beautiful. I loved all of the tequila bottle aesthetics!

One of those nights my order was delayed and a couple of sides were missing, but they were extremely apologetic and even offered us a discount, which I really appreciated. Tonight, my husband and I decided to have a quick date night and finally dine in. I honestly can't remember the names of the cocktails we ordered, but they were seasonal, delicious, and beautifully presented. The bread wasn't my favorite, but I'm not taking off any points for that. It's free, and honestly, I'd rather not fill up on bread before the meal anyway. For appetizers, we ordered the cast iron shrimp and the slab bacon. The shrimp was so good. My husband thought it was a little salty, but I thought it was just really well seasoned. I'd honestly go back just for that dish. The bacon was good, but it wasn't as hot as I would have liked. I personally like my food piping hot, so that's just a preference. The star of the night was the Cowboy Prime steak. It was absolutely delicious, great seasoning, a perfect sear, and full of flavor. The temperature wasn't exactly what we ordered, but it was still an incredible steak. It came with vegetables, and even as someone who isn't a big fan of veggies, I really enjoyed them!! For sides, we had the hand-cut fries and a side of the corn risotto. If we had one complaint about the meal, it would be the risotto. It was overcooked and tasted like a basic risotto with corn kernels mixed in. It just wasn't what we expected. Thankfully, the steak was so good that it completely made up for that disappointment. We skipped dessert because we were both completely full, but we'll definitely be back. I also wanted to mention that the service was a little slow at the beginning. Once our server got to us, though, she was friendly, attentive, and took great care of us. Overall, we had a great experience and look forward to coming back.

The Capital Grille (Parsippany, NJ) - A Deficit-Healing, High-End Haven…read more After a brutal afternoon at the Wind Creek Casino tables in Bethlehem where the cards refused to cooperate, my girlfriend and I fled east, ditching our original steakhouse reservations for a local gamble: The Capital Grille in Parsippany. Arriving around 5:00 PM, I was acutely aware that my attire screamed "gambling casualty" rather than "fine dining enthusiast." Mercifully, the staff showed elite restraint, ignoring my casual wardrobe with absolute grace. The hostess greeted us warmly, guiding us into an upscale, immaculate dining room. Looking around, you could see the floor staff moving with the quiet, focused intensity of an orchestra tuning up for the Saturday night rush. Our server, Carl, was an absolute professional. He navigated the menu with the kind of photographic memory that makes you wonder if he moonlights as a memory champion. We kicked off with appetizers: a rich, comforting clam chowder for her and the glazed thick-cut bacon for me. Both were exceptional. For the main event, I ordered the 22oz bone-in ribeye with porcini rub. It was prepared to absolute perfection, hitting that elusive, beautifully seared sweet spot right between rare and medium-rare (a precise temperature the culinary world calls Pittsburgh rare, or simply a perfect Kona sear). It easily tracks as one of the top three steaks I have ever had in the area. Because my girlfriend doesn't eat meat, she pivoted to a spread of sides, ordering the creamed spinach and the Sam's mashed potatoes (a decadent potato casserole). While the presentation was flawless, the flavor profiles didn't quite sweep her off her feet--a minor blemish on an otherwise stellar culinary run. The ambiance is fantastic, though you might want to pack a light jacket, as the indoor climate control was set to "meat locker. Yes, the bill requires deep pockets, but fine dining is a realm where you truly get what you pay for. The house always wins at the casino, but The Capital Grille felt like a massive victory. We will absolutely be back.

The graduation ran late, but thankfully they were able to accommodate our reservation. From the moment we walked in, it felt special. We gave our name and they asked us to wait, when we arrive at the table, there was graduation confetti at the table and they gave my husband a congratulatory card. They provided 5 glasses of prosecco to toast my husband which was such a nice gesture! The drinks were perfection! I had one of the best cosmos I've ever had. It was strong but so very tasty and worth the $18 price. My hubby had a rye/bourbon drink with bitters that was smooth and very enjoyable. My friend had 2! My daughter's espresso martini again, just so delish The calamari with banana peppers were crunchy and perfectly prepared. My daughter isn't a meat eater so she got chopped salad and the biggest crock of French onion soup I've ever seen. The soup had a hint of sherry and the onions were perfectly caramelized. The cheese was not gooey or clumpy which is all you want from French onion. I got the sliced fillet with fig essence. I ordered medium which was a bit pink in the center for me but the server did mention in before I ordered. I wanted to see the difference when you order in a true steak house. I'd order medium well next time for me. My daughter got the 10 oz fillet which was cooked to perfection. She also ordered mashed potatoes and cream spinach for the table to share. All good! My husband's steak was exactly what he wanted and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Our friend is a vegan, but he enjoyed coming out with us, ordered a salad and burrata. (We ate the cheese) We were too full for dessert but they brought a platter with a mini cheese cake and chocolate cake on a platter that said congratulations to celebrate him. The service was excellent! We had so many people that blended into the background but at the same time were super nice, friendly and professional. The artwork on the walls was nostalgic and made us feel welcome and happy.
