Truly the most underwhelming facial I have ever experienced. My skin looks no better than when I walked in and the woman who did my facial left little red marks bc she didn't steam my face before she did extractions. Nothing there was worth the money. The bed just had a sheet on it, the robe they had me put on had hair all over the velcro, the products used did not smell nice, the "massage" of my hands and arms lasted about 15 secs a side and again, my skin looks worse than when I walked in! 60 min facials value of $ 90.00 but i got it $ 45 in a Groupon last Nov. 29 2012, unfortunately my visit today in the Tres Jolie Spa is very Disappointing experience.. I set an appointment last tuesday for today thursday,when i arrived at the Spa so excited and i'm early for the 10am appointment only to find out that my name is not registered the receptionist named " LOU" is very nice and accommodating but she found out there is a misunderstanding that she put me scheduled not today but next week thursday. I was surprised cause for more than 20 years i go to SPA this is my first time I got in this kind of situation but she said NO Problem they can accommodate me and she will fix it. I've waited for a few mins. and I guess she's calling all the staff of the Spa if they can come to do the service unfortunately no one is willing to come early until she called the owner and she let me talk to the owner. I explained to the owner the situation and the receptionist admitted it's her mistake for setting the wrong appointment, on my part I said to her " I have also mistake cause I just assumed that she's giving me the nearest thursday appointment which is this week cause i called tuesday and i never confirmed the date " and the owner said okey We will just upgrade your facial service for you to be compensate but you have to wait for me an hour or more cause i am to far from the Spa. I told her i can't wait so i hang up the phone and talk to the receptionist i just wanted a refund and I will just try their service next time if theres a chance then the receptionist called again the owner while waiting for my my refund the receptionist said the owner want's to talk to me again and what she said to me in the phone " YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS YOUR FAULT" I was surprised how come you blame your client for the conflict schedule, we argue for a while until I am very disappointed and I said " fine if you think this is my fault just to end up this transaction " I AM SORRY" for bothering everyone here. I end up the phone call and talk to the receptionist again and I told to " LOU " I was surprise to your boss/owner of this spa now she's blaming me and she told me that she is worried that i might leave a negative review. I left the SPA this morning with a full refund $ 45.00 and a very disappointing experience, I've been try a different spa from expensive to cheap but this is the first time I encounter this kind of situation. Do not go to this place for any type of skincare, especially Ultherapy ultrasound skin tightening. They do not use the equipment needed for this procedure yet tell clients they are getting ultrasound skin tightening. The owner is evasive and lacks professional experience. The establishment is run in an unprofessional manner, hours of operation are erratic and unreliable, place is dimly lit, dated and it not cleaned as often as a place of this type should be cleaned. Read a previous review where the massage was mediocre and they experienced same elusive customer service. read more

So I just made an appointment. Haven't even gone yet and already hate everything. The people there (the receptionist and Carmen) only communicate in spanish! They have no idea that caller ID tracks their lack of communication since they claim that their business has called me. When I asked if they left a voice mail the receptionist responded in spanish. I was pretty underwhelmed by this spa. I bought a Groupon, it was for a 60 minute massage, normally $90, for $40. Seemed like a good enough deal and worth it to try a new local spa. My experience was pretty lackluster. First of all, over the course of two days, I tried calling several times and was never able to talk to a person, only leave a message on the machine. I finally decided to leave a message and was called back within a few hours. The receptionist on the phone was really odd, she didn't seem to understand what I was calling about, and called me an entirely different name. I guess she had a list of people to call back and got them mixed up. Anyway, I tried to make an appointment, and she seemed confused by this process. It took a long time for her to figure out what times were available on the day I wanted to go. Then she told me there was a 1pm appointment available. Just as she was about to hang up, she said it was noon. I stopped her and asked her, there was a long pause again, and she then confirmed that she meant noon, there was no 1pm appointment. Weird. I guess she was new. It came off as kind of unprofessional. Anyway, I arrived (at noon) for my massage. The massage therapist was very nice, but it was kind of a weak massage. Very low pressure, and when I mentioned "I could do with more pressure", I didn't really notice any difference. I also feel like he didn't use enough oil, it felt fairly frictiony at times. It wasn't a bad massage but it wasn't great. The massage table seemed to be broken and every time I shifted my head the headrest creaked and sounded like it was going to snap off, and at one point it kind of did. When he got to my back/shoulder area, he got a lot better, much higher pressure, and he was very good at finding the knots and working them out, so that part was pretty great. The weirdest thing, though, about this experience, was when I was leaving. The receptionist asked how I liked my massage, I said it was fine. She then added, "You don't have to wait for the Groupons, our regular price is $45!" I was kind of annoyed, because isn't the point of Groupon that you get a discount? It really wasn't much of a deal at all and I totally got what I paid for. Overall the spa was very clean and relaxing, and the massage therapist was competent. But the difficulty making an appointment was weird, and I'm feeling kind of annoyed about the Groupon thing. It wasn't the worst experience ever, but I would not go back and I would not suggest it to anyone else. There are other spas in the area in a similar price range where the staff is more professional and you get a better massage. read more

I was very unsatisfied with my experience at this spa. This location and owner came highly recommended by a person I know and trust, however I did not have the pleasant experience I was expecting. I called for an appointment for a facial and surprisingly, I was able to get one the next day at 1pm. I was pleased with this, especially since I called as a spur of the moment kind of thing. I arrived for my facial about 15 minutes early and was greeted by a kind woman. Although she was kind, she did not speak English very well and it was difficult to communicate what I was there for. Finally, she recognized my name and appointment time. I asked about the different types of facials they offered. The woman gave me a card with the names of the services, but no descriptions on it, so I just looked them up on their website using my cell phone while I waited. After about 10 minutes the kind woman called me back to a room where I was to change and lay on the table for a facial, however I needed to use the restroom, so I did. When I came out, I found a different woman standing in the room I was told to change in. I said "hello", assuming it was Elana, the owner, whom I still haven't met. It turns out it was not. The woman that was standing in the room was their friend, which it turns out, they were fitting in that day. Now at this point I should've just left, but I decided to stay and give them a chance. (Considering this place came highly recommended.) After a few minutes, Elana the owner came in and explained that she was running a little behind, but that the kind receptionist was going to come in to rub my hands and feet while I wait. I was ok with this. After a few more minutes, the receptionist came in and instead of rubbing my hands and feet, she began to do something to my face. Now, honestly, it all happened so fast, I really didn't realize what was happening until my face began tingling. I had assumed she was just rubbing my face to relax me, but instead she was cleaning my face. I asked what she was doing, and she asked me what kind of facial Elana had recommended. I told her that Elana hadn't even had a consultation with me yet and that my face was burning. I also explained to her that I have extremely sensitive skin and that if I had a consultation, or anyone would've even asked me, they would've been aware of this! She cools my face with some cool paper towels and then leaves the room again. After a few moments again, she comes back to rub my hands, which I won't even comment on (UGH). And she never rubbed my feet. At this point, I'm very uncomfortable and feel like I just want to get up and leave however, I was looking forward to Elana, who I was hoping would make it all worth it. (Plus my face was dry and tight, I needed someone who knew how to make it better). Well, finally Elana comes in. She looks at my face and comments on how red my face was. I said, " I know, if I would've been consulted with before my face was cleaned, I could've explained that I have severely sensitive skin. So Elana tells me that they only use natural products and she shows me the bottle. Yes, it does say "natural for normal to dry skin" but the ingredients also list some sort of acid which is what my skin reacts to! I informed Elana of this and she understood and apologized. Then she said that she had a vegetable mask that would calm my face down. She also explained that she wanted to help me and calm my face down. I was appreciative of this because truthfully my face was uncomfortable and hot. So she left the room again to get the mask. When she returned, I asked her how much it would be. She said $90. I said that I felt uncomfortable, upset and also like I was kind of forgotten about today. She apologized again and offered me a discount at a price of $75, which was what I was expecting. I allowed her to continue with my face because it was so hot and uncomfortable, I needed some relief. She was very nice and I felt like possibly she knew what she was doing as far as calming my face down. The vegetable mask felt really good and immediately calmed my skin. She also proceeded to put another soothing mask on. During this process she explained to me that I have Eczema and that ultrasound would help. She left to get the machine, which took her a while to do. A few more times she left the room and left the door open. The light was shining in and it was the OPPOSITE of relaxing. Finally it was time for ultrasound. Literally, before she puts the machine to my face, she casually says, "you don't have any metal in your body right?" AND ACTUALLY I DO!! When I inform her of this, she says, "oh well forget it, you can't have ultrasound". This made me feel bad horrible.Then she put a seaweed mask on, that AGAIN burned my face. I told her and she took it right off. I paid my bill and left. I would NEVER return to this place again. read more

I've driven by this spa many times and decided to give it a try. I called to make an appointment the woman over the phone was very nice. I asked if there were anyway to be seen the same day for a massage (it was a spur of the moment decision), the receptionist said she'd get right back to me which she did in a few minutes telling me they were able to accommodate at the time i wanted. When i arrived I was glad to see a modern, contemporary reception area. There was calming music playing and it looked very professional I was put at ease right away. I was brought to the room right away and a few minutes later was greeted by Jen my massage therapist. The room temperature was very warm but Jen turned it down and I was comfortable right away. I got the swedish massage Jen has 20yrs experience and she was wonderful. I can say it was very relaxing and therapeutic. It lasted the full hour. I paid 90 which is what i've always paid for past massages and I made my next appointment while I was there. They offered me a MUCH better deal which I will take them up on. They didn't push any other services on me I had to ask. I had a very pleasant experience and would recommend this place to my friends. Make sure you ask for Jen. read more

I bought a groupon for a 60 minute facial at $45. I have bought groupons before for spa treatments at different locations and I have always been satisfied. This experience, however, was terrible. The owner of the spa was performing my facial. She left the room at least 5 times, disappearing for 10 minutes at one point to assist other customers. She tried to perform extractions with the lights off! No steaming! Only afterwards did she decide to roll in a light/magnifier to perform the extractions. I have received many facials over the past years and I can't believe how unprofessional this experience was. Never again! read more

I have been reading the reviews and am wondering is the same place I was at on Saturday??? I had the best facial I've ever had. I've gone to every spa in NYC and always go on cruise ships etc and none really came close to the luxurious products that were used...I also went in with a groupon and also treated my friend to one for mothers day. We both loved it. Elana the owner was very well trained with the products and everything felt wonderful, especially the wine mask at the end. The chocolate hand massage was also wonderful. I am looking forward to going back and buying the package of facials. read more
