Called Tree Audio 3 times to find out about repairing a AKG D20.. Was on a music loop hold for 7 minutes and then someone came on to tell me that no one seems to be answering in the service department. Asked me to call back at 2:00. I did and they were out to lunch. Called back a third time and this time they took my name and number. Never heard from a them. They may do great work, I have no idea, but they sure run a business in a funny way. Especially after one of the people I talked to told my how slow they've been due to all the entertainment strikes. I can't say good things about Trew Audio. I contacted several shops regarding microphone repair, but this business really stood out. Michael Russo helped me out with my Neumann mic, and he went the extra mile. I was so impressed how quickly he solved my issue. His professionalism, kindness, and helpfulness were exceptional. I dropped off my mic to have it cleaned after a batter leak at their Burbank, CA location. The service guy Russo was rude and condescending and quoting me an unreasonable price for the clean up. Even though I left it with him and gave him my info. He never reached out about the status of the repair. When I called I got the run around from Jose saying "I'm in sales not service." Additionally I was met with a rude female employee several times. Very rude phone manners and leaving me on hold for unreasonable amount of time. I have done a lot of business with Trew Audio before, but I can no longer if this is the lack of professionalism I'm getting from their employees. read more

Best audio store! They have a huge selection of all audio equipment you could ever dream of....AND GREAT SERVICE! If you don't want to wait in line for out-of-stock items at Guitar Center, or don't want to be led astray by non-expert BestBuy staff, or completely abandoned at Electronic Frys.....go to Trew Audio. Every time I have ever gone here or called over the phone, I was treated with the utmost respect and care. You always feel like the Queen of England walking into this place. There's a half-dozen sales people tripping over their feet to help you. One grabbing items, another one answering questions, another pulling out test gear from the back, and yet another to prepare your order for cashout. And EVERYBODY knows their stuff. Whatever random weird audio question or use scenario you have, they can tell you a hundred ways to get the job done. When I called them on the phone, I got passed around to 2-3 people but it's 2-3 people who all want to talk to me and help me with my issues. What about when they don't have an item? Ha...they can even custom make stuff for you (like they custom made a special cable for me). Anyway...this review was long overdue. This store has so much to offer: great, easy parking. Coffee machine bubbling away, ready for you to pour a cup. Wonderful, knowledgeable staff awaiting your questions and orders at the bright, open front counters. Good stock on the top audio gear and accessories (both new and used). They also have a great rentals dept, and a repair shop in the back. I highly recommend Trew Audio! I purchased 3 Sanken Cos-11d mics and a few accessories all at once. I had them for 2 days before TWO broke at the connector. I called in to the store and was upset because I have never had cables break like this and supposedly these mics are very strong and can take a beating. I was informed by Kelly that he would get them repaired free of charge since it happened so quick, not to mention it was within 3 hours of using them on set. After sending the mics back, they called and said I now had to pay for the repair. Completely backing out of the promise and expectation that was made to me. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars from Trew audio and I was genuinely upset that they went back against their word. Kelly handed me off to the manager Rob who basically told me to "F" Off. He never once apologized for Kelly promising me something that he had no business promising. He never once tried to make amends or save me as a loyal customer. Then after 25 minutes or so on the phone in a very snarky way he says "the repair is only 65$". ALL OF THIS FRUSTRATION for a 65 dollar repair. The point I make is that as a customer if your employee promises or assures a customer something, that word is bond. Discrediting my frustration, telling me to ask any "Professional" audio person (which is insulting since they assume I'm not a professional), and NOT standing behind your word as a business is upsetting and not good practice. I will NO LONGER host their product links on my Youtube, Tik Tok, or Instagram. This is why companies like B&H are the best. They understand how to take care of customers. They don't belittle them, and they acknowledge when they made a mistake and CORRECT IT! This order I am referencing was about $1400. A complete distrust and brand reputation RUINED over miscommunication from them and measly $65 repair. ROB- if you see this, as a manager you should ensure that ALL of your employees understand the processes and procedures and NEVER make promises that can't be kept. This will prevent any future upset customers. I will now take my business to Gotham Sound, Sweetwater, B&H and Adorama. I've never felt more disrespected and UNHEARD as a customer before in my life. read more

If u need a demo or just have a question they are there to help. Film Tools and EVS(especially film tools) are not as reliable for sound as this place. I rented some microphones from this business. They were not cheap but they did not sound good. In fact, I didn't end up using them because the quality was so bad. When I brought them back the store didn't seem interested in hearing about this. They charged me full-price (even though this was a non-profit event) and made no attempt to address the issue. They're always willing to go the extra mile, whether it be in repairing gear, hooking me up on rentals or locating a special piece of equipment I need for a shoot...Even on weekends when they're technically closed! Their suggestions are always on point and they are top notch pros ... Period!!!!! I'm writing this review to fulfill a promise I made a year ago when Trew Audio helped us snatch our production from the jaws of Oblivion. While on location for a documentary, our vehicle was broken into and $14K in audio equipment vanished. To rent that gear again would have annihilated our budget, but since we had traveled to California from Toronto for the shoot, we didn't have an option if we wanted to finish the film. This is when Trew Audio came into the picture. After hearing our plight, their team helped us assemble a package that would get the job done for an incredibly fair rate. The service alone was enough to earn a 5 star review, but it was their compassion and willingness to help some naive Canadian's out of a hole that makes me eternally grateful to them. Been going to Trew audio since it was Coffey Sound. Have bought about 98% of my gear there. I literally live 5-6 block from another professional sound equipment dealer and I still prefer to take the further drive to Trew. The staff is very knowledgeable and polite. They always take good care of me. The service department is amazing. There is almost nothing they can't build or fix in a timely manner. Have never rented from them since I own my own package but I have never heard a complaint from anyone I have sent over there to rent gear. read more
