Proper distancing is not marked in the store, so customers are not caring about spacing. In the short time I was there, I saw EVERY employee violating basic mask rules. I honestly can't shop in a tiny place full of people with "chin diapers" or noses not covered. In such a small shop selling wet meats, workers should be more careful. I assume if they aren't following mask basics, they aren't following many other germ-evasive rules. I prefer supporting local shops, but my family members and I will not return to this shop until they get their act together. The pandemic isn't a joke. read more

If you want an example of an arrogant business ignoring the City/County/State Executive Order requiring employees to wear masks then go to Tri-County Meat Market on FM3351 in Fair Oaks Ranch. We received raw ground beef and other meat from an employee who was not wearing a mask nor did he have gloves on. My wife got the order and told me the story when she returned to the car. Concerned, we called to complain and not only would the supervisor not refund money he just didn't care when we threatened to report him. His response was "go ahead." The practice of not wearing a mask and gloves endangers customers to COVID and a host of other health problems. We will buy our meat from another meat market, like Schott's, from now on. I love this meat market. I have been several times and the guys that work there have always been so nice and helpful. My favorite things to order are there ribeye steaks. Whenever I go there I also always get a package of their hotdogs that they make. I recently bought lobster tails from there as well they were frozen but they were big and they were delicious. I happened upon Tri County Meat Market last week during the return leg of a road trip from the beautiful Texas Hill Country. It's located at the corner of Ralph Fair Rd. and Dietz Elkhorn. My friend and I had just been discussing the need to find a local market that carries venison when we saw Tri County's sign, so we pulled in to have a look. It's next to a Mexican restaurant, a fairly well-stocked liquor store, and a convenience store. Well, Tri County can't carry venison right now because they're not quite big enough (they need a separate cooler for it), but this brand-new meat market has plenty of beef, pork, and chicken plus other market goods like bread, cheese, and fresh vegetables. The shop has only been there for a little over a month but they're trying to let everyone know where they are. As far as recommendations, I've tried their beef jerky, pork sausage, and dry sausage. All were fantastic! But the dry pork sausage, which is made in-house, is amazing. I bought a whole ring and intended to serve it as part of an hors d'oeuvre at a party the following weekend but, um...we accidentally ate all of it before the party. Whoops! I went back today and bought two more. :) The store is very neat and clean. And the three guys I've spoken with are so friendly. They'll happily provide you with a sample bite of anything you want to try. If you stop by and have a good experience, please tell your friends and family and come review them on Yelp. They're a local business, open until 8pm, and conveniently located for people who don't want to drive all the way to the HEB in Boerne or Leon Springs. If you live anywhere near Boerne or Fair Oaks, you have to go check this place out. It's the kind of place that just doesn't seem to exist anymore. A bunch of guys who know anything you want to know about any cut of meat you're interested in cooking. They have a really nice selection of beef as well as a more limited selection of pork and seafood. They make and smoke their own sausage in house and it is awesome! They also have a perfect assortment of odds and ends such as produce and dairy that make it an easy place to stop off to put together a quick meal or save a trip to the HEB. First time trying out the Fair Oaks Ranch Meat Market at the corner of Dietz Elkhorn and Ralph Fair Road. I have to report that the T-bones we got were some of the best I have ever eaten. Sorry it took me so long to try it!! Very tender and Kevin says everyone was very nice and helpful. They also have vegetables, tortillas, etc. so could put together a great dinner without going all the way to HEB. Highly recommend. read more

This place is on my route between home in Boerne and work just south of Fair Oaks. I recently stopped in after work and picked up three of the most beautiful pork loin rib chops I've ever seen. They were easily 1.5 inches thick. After grilling them, we decided they were far superior to the ones from HEB's butcher case and up until now that had been our go to...it's WELL worth the extra couple of bucks per pound. I also bought 1/2 pound of peppered turkey jerky, which while pricey at $29.95 per pound, was really good (although I only got about an ounce of it since my wife and teenaged son devoured it before I had a chance!!). I look forward to trying some of the beautiful steaks in the future and this is definitely my new choice for pork chops! read more
