Campsite (3/5): These are a bit stacked on top of each other but our group had two next to each other so it didn't impact us too much. Ambiance (4/5): These campsites are right on the water which is absolutely stunning! You really feel like you're in nature, but there is a major road near the top campsites and even by the water you can hear road noise. There was a huge group at the top which partied into the night though we're up late anyhow and it was no issue for us. Consider earplugs if you're not like us. Bathrooms (4/5): These were relatively clean for a campground bathroom. Minus a star here because on the last day the women's room was out of order -- but I believe it was due to another guest, as a member of our party heard someone say "oh no it's not flushing!" TL;DR: Great for those late-into-the-night campers. If you stay here make sure you get a waterfront spot.

This is my second time doing a float trip with Kittatinny Canoes, but my first time from this base…read morecamp and I would never do it again. The employees working there were not helpful at all. After we were dropped off at the launch point, one employee gave a quick safety speech and then disappeared. No one helped us tie our tubes together or navigate the steep drop-off with our tubes to get into the water, which was extremely slippery and rocky. We were told the float would take 2-2.5 hours. This was wildly inaccurate. It took us an hour to float from the drop-off point back to camp. When we previously did the trip from Barryville, the float was much longer. For what we paid, this was a complete waste of money. Then, when we reached the ending point around 4 p.m., we were harassed by three teenage employees who were yelling at us and demanding that we bring up our tubes immediately. There was no one else going out with those tubes at that time, and we simply wanted to sit and relax for a few minutes since the float had been so short. The employees were unnecessarily rude and nasty about it. I feel bad for the people who paid to camp out on this site. It was pathetically small and claustrophobic. Do yourself a favor and book a float trip with another company. After this experience, I would not return to or recommend Kittatinny Canoes at either base camp. EDIT/UPDATE: After the owner's response, I wanted to provide some additional context because I don't feel her response accurately reflects what we experienced. First, regarding the float time: the website states that the trip is 2-3 hours, not 2-2.5 hours. I understand that river conditions can affect the timing, but the conditions on Saturday were considered normal summer levels, with no flood warnings or high water advisories. Our float was significantly shorter than the advertised timeframe. We were also surprised by how close the drop-off point was. The bus barely drove us up the road before letting us out, and the location itself seemed like an odd place to start the trip, being let out in what appeared to be a vacant grassy field directly next to the Riverside on the Delaware townhomes, not even 3 full miles away. I feel bad for the people who live there. It did not feel like we were out in nature, enjoying lush vegetation. I could literally hear landscaping equipment buzzing along the float. As far as the landing area, we did not see anyone trying to get out of the water with kayaks while we were there, nor did the teenage employees tell us that kayakers were waiting to come through. They were not helping people navigate the landing area; they were primarily standing around and yelling at guests to bring their tubes over to the trailer. If they had politely explained that we were blocking kayakers or asked us to move for that reason, that would have been completely understandable. That is not how the situation was handled. Our issue was not being asked to move. It was the attitude and lack of helpfulness from the staff from the moment we arrived. We would have been happy to cooperate if the situation had simply been explained to us. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and the owner's response does not change what we personally witnessed during our trip

Silver Canoe & White Water Rafting located on the Delaware River (Pond Eddy to be exact) REFUSED to…read morehelp 10 boy scouts in need. These scouts overshot their intended stop and asked to stop at the Silver Canoe's landing so they could arrange a ride back up stream. The staff member at the location called the owner, who REFUSED to allow them access to their landing so they could get off the river. We are very thankful that Outpost Campground and the Park Rangers on the Delaware River showed up to help these scouts in need! What kind of company refuses to help kids? If you are ever looking to canoe or raft the Delaware River, please consider The Outpost Campground in Pond Eddy. Their owner went out of his way to ensure the comfort and safety of our scouts.

Was looking for an all-day rafting adventure when I decided to call and see what they had to offer…read more Myself and 5 friends pulled the trigger that same day when we hear about their 9 mile trip down a pretty calm section of the Delaware river for a pretty good price. They do mention that there are "category 1" rapids but it's compared to maybe hitting a speed bump at 20mph. Be sure to stop along the way as the route is beyond beautiful and worthy of docking your kayak or raft for a quick swim. Staff is super helpful and know what they're doing - 10/10 im coming back here in the next few weeks Update: been coming here a few times every summer for the past 4 years and have become a huge fan of the 3 day overnight camping trips that they offer. Not worth the price…read more We were charged 30 dollars per person for a 45 minute tube float that was advertised as 2 hours. The tubes were very dirty and of poor quality, as was the shuttle. The really frustrating part was that the owner lied to us about where the public accesses are when there is one beside their establishment and the place we were dropped off was public as well. We had our own inflatable kayak that was easy to transport and having heard that there were no nearby accesses we asked if there was any way that we could use our own and take their shuttle and they refused. The river was very slow and was not at all like a rapid it was more of a lazy river. The only positive thing about this experience was our shuttle driver who was honest with us about the access and was very kind.

Anyways, my group and I also kayaked 10 miles and it took approx. 3 hrs to be finished. The water in this river is very calm with some currents that may be able to help you out to gain speed from time to time. There is nothing dangerous at this river so you can easily enjoy and have an amazing time with your group. There is a cliff that you can climb almost at the end of the ride where you get to jump down into the water. The height can be approx. 10-15 feet high. The feeling that you get from jumping down can be amazing!

One night we stayed people played loud music all through the night until 5am. If you value enjoying nature with a good night's sleep stay far far away from here.

I went river tubing with a friend, something we've done with different companies every year for…read morepractically the last decade. I think it's important to note for this story that we are both normal, healthy BMI, 30s women who work out regularly. We are not overweight or very inexperienced and we were not drunk when this happened. When they launched us into the river on the NY side and told us we'd have to make it to the PA side to get picked up, I knew it wasn't going to be a relaxing trip. Most river companies drop you off and pick you up on the same side because it can be very hard (or impossible) to cross the river in a tube without a paddle. For 2 hours, we truly struggled to get to the correct side of the river. The current was strong and not only could we not make it to the PA side, the current was constantly pushing us into trees and rocks on the riverbank on the NY side. We got out on the riverbank and relaunched twice. We got out of the tubes completely and swam twice. We stayed in the tubes and kicked as hard as we could (probably spent a full hour kicking). The best we ever did was get to the middle of the river. It was exhausting and we had maybe 20 minutes total of actual relaxation. When the trip was almost over, we knew we weren't going to make it over. My friend luckily had cell reception and called the company to ask what we should do, while I got out of the tube one last time and kicked as hard as I possibly could. As we passed the Indian Head pickup point, the worker on the riverbank saw us passing by and got in a kayak to come tow us back. As he got within shouting distance, he started yelling at us that we had do "do something!!! You can't just lay there!" despite me being in the water kicking. He continued to yell at us as he approached, asking why we didn't get on the correct side of the river. His anger surprised me and was completely unhelpful and rude. He towed us to shore and by that point we were maybe half a mile down from the pickup point so he asked us to carry his kayak paddle back for him, which we did, and he ran off. We claimed up through the bushes and started walking down the road, carrying our tubes and the paddle. The school bus spotted us about a quarter mile away and took us back to the dropoff point, where I went inside to check in our tubes. Immediately, the manager started asking me questions. "Why do you have a kayak paddle? Didnt they tell you to get on the right side of the river? Why didn't you do it? Why didn't you get out and swim?" At no point did he or anyone even ask if we were OK. This was a completely terrible experience. I'm mostly just really surprised that they were such absolute a-holes about the situation. There are a lot better companies than this one. AVOID.

Great location. - Wifi available near office. - We were left alone. We were loud, had fun, laughed, sang, carried on. Nobody bothered us. I can see how this is a CON for some people. :) Now the CONS... - Bathrooms suck. Not cleaned often enough. Not enough stalls, sinks, showers. Not air conditioned. - Two water temperates: Very hot and Thermonuclear. Gotta fix that. - Very dangerous hill to and from the riverside camp sites. People must be getting injured every year. Simple solution: Get some better lighting - even solar lighting - near that path. Consider installing stairs or something, or rails. - Enjoyed the fireworks, but not the next morning at 6am. Not the fault of campground - just neighborly stuff. Perhaps they didn't care for our loud music and my horrible Karaoke singing. *shrug* - Next to ZERO cell signal. Some people with (of all things) T-Mobile had occaisional signals near the river. Bottom Line: Partiers will love it. Your camping experience will be epic, and you will wanna go again. Just don't kill yourselves on the path to the river, and try not to shit your pants waiting for a stall to open up. Families will maybe wanna reconsider. Your kids and dogs will be awake at 1pm listening to loud music, horrible singing, and the occaisional very loud fireworks going on. If you are ok with that, just bring ear protection to drown out the noise and you should be fine.
