I live in Pleasanton, the Tri-Valley. I had SOF as my Customer Service and repair person. I have a 2020 Toyota Avalon hybrid. I had an a accident that caused my driver's side rear wheel to be slanted and made for rough riding. Sof and his technician diagnosed the issue, ordered parts, straightened the wheel. and performed an alignment. My steering wheel was also slanted, but it was straight when the repair was done. The accident also caused a few of my car's high tech sensors not to work. Sof was able to have all sensors work again. Sof was easy to work with, reliable, on time, and repaired much more then the slanted wheel that was the reason for my visit. Sof stayed with the original estimate even though he did a little extra work at no further cost. My steering wheel is back in place, I have a comfortable ride, all sensors work, and when I take my hands off the steering wheel the care stays in a straight line. This post is long, long overdue. I've been going to Tri Valley Auto for the past 8 years. I love Tri-Valley Automotive. After searching for a reputable repair shop, I was pleasantly delighted to meet Don and his great team. We had leased a car from a dealer (new) and after 3 years we bought it. About 6 months after that we took the car in for some upgrade and they came back telling us we needed new breaks and some other things. I took the car to Don and he evaluated everything and said none of it was needed- the car was in incredible condition. I walked out with an oil change (which was one thing I had come in for). It would have been easy for him to rip me off, had he wanted to, but he didn't ad I found him to be consistently honest and reliable. We learned that the vehicle we purchased (the type of car) has had a ton of recalls over the years. While we didn' thave problems with ours, I did talk to Don about whether or not he thought we should trade in or vehicle. With less than 15K miles and no issues, he suggesetd we keep it and I'm really glad that we did as we haven't had any major trouble with it or problems. I probably would have traded it in just from worry had I not talked to Don, and that likely would have been at a loss. Another time, my wipers damaged (years later) and it was scheduled to be a very rainy weekend. Tri-Valley Auto is open M-F and I had to drive more than 40 miles on the weekend, so I pulled into Riley Auto Parts and bought some wipers and asked them to help me install them, since I didn't know how to. I walked out of there having paid about $90- thinking it was probably a good deal. About a week later, I was driving and the wiper flew off the car (obviously, not installed correctly). I called Don, he saw me same day and gave me a new wiper for something rediculously low- I don't recall, but I want to say it was less than $15 and maybe less than $10. I'll never go anywhere else. Another think that I love about Tri-Valley Auto is that they give you an electronic email write-up, so I can clearly see the full assessment, any recommendations, critical needs and also coming future recomendations. As someone not versed in this, it's so nice to have it in writing to so I can review it and make my decisions without pressure. It also allows me to call around for other quotes (which I've done before) and have found that the prices are spot on here and often cheaper than elsewhere. It has helped reconfirm what I already supsected ealy on- that Tri-Valley Auto is really honest, quality service and they care. I love that I can book appoitnments online and that I'm texted as the work is being done and when it's ready to go. As we only have one car, it's critical to get this information in a timely manner. I have had horror stories in other cities where we've lived where the work was done at other shops in an hour but they didn't tell me to 6 hours later- making life very inconvennient when I was waiting around nearby at a coffee shop until they were ready. I never have that experience with Tri Valley Automotive. Also, the work has always been done the same day- even when I needed an oil change and new breaks. I've had other shops that are so slow and you're there forever, not with Tri-Valley Automotive. Don is scheduled to retire (much deserved) later this spring and in discussing his transition and the shop, he's assured me that the work and honesty will continue. He's hand-picked the staff who work with him and they've worked together for years. They'll be taking over the business and it's good to know that not only do I feel comfotable continuing on because of their work ethic, but also that Don highly recommends them -- couldn't recommend them more highly. I wanted to add this comment for those who are looking for reliable and timely customer service, good communication, fantastic prices, and more importantly- people who actually care about you, your vehicle, and your safety. This review is on behalf of a family member who used this shop to perform a pre-purchase inspection as the basis to purchase a used vehicle. Review below: "Had a pre-purchase inspection completed at this facility, since I was purchasing a vehicle out of state I couldn't see it myself. Everything was sent back in the green meaning it was all clear no concerns. I purchased the vehicle trusting this company since it was an "As-is" sale; come to find out there were some serious red flags that weren't notated in the inspection. Shroud panels missing, fuse box cover missing, engine hardware missing, high beams and fog lights non working, signs of engine removal and overspray, loose panels in the trunk and on and on the list goes. All of which was specifically requested prior to scheduling.The vehicle only had 5800 miles on it but shows like 580000. Super disappointed in the work ethic of the people at this shop. 52 points of inspection should've shown you all of this. When confronted with the dissatisfaction all that was said after the fact was we don't really look too in depth but we are sorry you are unhappy. Then, throwing out "over a thousand $" price tag for single item of routine maintenance and not completing the conversation to discuss all that is needed. 2012 Chrysler 300 air conditioning failed blowing hot air especially with the a/c clutch not engaging whatsoever. I tried charging myself since I tried to DIY but it would not fill. I am no way near an average auto mechanic and I don't have a garage to do the work. Plus I don't have all the vacuum pump and gauges to perform this task and it would take me a day or more. So I looked around and Don with TriValley had a fair price to recharge unlike other shops in Dublin and Hayward area. Unfortunately air conditioning compressor was bad and all was done within one day with a good price under $1K since unbeknownst to me when I bought the Chrysler 300 many years ago they actually use a small amount of Mercedes Benz suspension part's unlike the Dodge Charger. His mechanic in the shop gets things done extremely fast but with quality and an utmost attention to detail. read more

My Mustang GT died on me and engine coolant was oozing out underneath the hood. I called Tri-Valley to make an appointment and Don picked up and told me I could have my Mustang towed there and they could check it out for me to see what was wrong with it. Once there, they were able to get to it pretty quickly and let me know the water pump had broken. Don put in a new one and had my car fixed by the next morning! The price was very reasonable as well. I thought Don did a really good job taking care of my car and he even reached out to me a couple days after it was fixed to make sure it was still running well. Took my Subaru Forester for an oil change and tire rotation, also asked for help identifying why exhaust was being blown into the car by the AC/heater. Turns out my exhaust system had a crack, so I asked Tri-Valley to fix. (I knew would be expensive based on reading other Forester owner's stories about this problem; it required replacing the cat converter.) When Don called Subaru to order the part, he was able to ascertain the issue was under an extended warranty, and he gave me a name and a dealer to call. I contacted that person at the dealer and ended up with over $4k of work done at no cost to me, due to the extended warranty and an additional recall on the vehicle. What a fantastic experience. My 2003 Honda Civic wasn't starting. I called many mechanics, but unfortunately, a lot of the other places were going to take some time to fix the car. However, Don was kind enough to check up on my car sooner than later. Don identified the issues were the Crank Position Sensor and the Camshaft Position Sensor, and replaced those parts for me. Don was very honest and genuine - he kindly showed me the parts that were broken and explained to me what each parts were intended for. Because of the expensive labor costs in the bay area, I was a bit worried about the bill.
