I recently bought a used BMW and after about 3 months it started doing something funny with the headlights they would just start blinking on and off while driving then the taillights stopped working and I would get a lighting malfunction notification. I did some research online and it said many different things can cause this to happen. The biggest item was headlight failure which could cost a significant amount to replace. Contemplated on writing this review as the last thing we want to do is negatively impact a local business but we do not think they care enough on how we were turned away. We did not feel valued as a new client. Felt dishonest and the reasoning given was questionable for not having a tool to diagnose our car. We waited patiently for weeks and was understanding until it did not feel right anymore. How can a business not have a tool to diagnose a car??? I am sure we are not the only car that need this tool. It is so simple, if they do not want to fix our car, or too complicated, they can just say so! From September, if they really wanted our business, the owner could have reached out by now. I've now had service twice, and the quality and value have been outstanding each time. The first service was brakes and rotors. The last service was a major one: PDK, plugs, oil service, etc. For each service, the forecast was precise, there was no effort to upcharge, and no proposal for unneeded services. Service was also amazingly fast: basically same-day! As for cost, each service was significantly lower than Porsche Livermore. And, it's nice to support a local business owner. I needed someone to diagnose and treat my 2016 BMW X6. When I called the office to schedule, Rich, the owner, took the time to help triage the issue before I came to the shop. Even though he didn't have an official slot for me, he fit me in pretty quick because the thought that it was likely a battery issue. I brought my Mercedes to Performance Autowerk for an oil pump valve solenoid issue that none of the top three rated independent shops in San Jose would take on. It is a 14 hour job, so I understand why it would not be a job worth taking. If you're 14 hours into a car, you may not be able to bring in other cars to work on and may lose money. The dealer wanted $5800 and I wasn't going to do that. After expanding my search radius for a mechanic, I found the highly rated Performance Autowerk in Dublin and reached out to them. Rich responded in less than thirty minutes to my inquiry and stated his shop was familiar with the issue and completed two repairs this year. I felt confident I found the right place and scheduled an early appointment on the website. The shop was easy to find, right off the freeway and parking was easy. I walked into the office and was greeted by Rich. He explained what needed to be done, quoted me a price that was several thousand less than the dealer, and let me know work would be completed in 2 - 7 days. I handed him the keys, shook his hand and headed across the street to take the conveniently located Bart back home. The next afternoon, Rich called to let me know the work was complete. I could not pick up my car until after the weekend and Rich was accommodating and let me know it would be okay. When I arrived at the shop to pick up the car, Rich asked me if I wanted to see the part, to which I replied I would. He took me into the garage, slapped on some gloves and produced the faulty part. He took the time to explain how it functioned and what caused the failure. He patiently answered my questions and I was happy to learn what I did. My dealership told me my rear brakes needed to be replaced, but after receiving their estimate, I decided it would be wise to look for a better alternative. Yelp reviewers didn't disappoint. I went to performance autowerk this morning to show the inspection due message on my audi q7. I told him I recently got oil change done. He initially said it needs to be reset and I need to visit midas where I got the oil change since he would charge if he were to do it. But before I could start, he came with the specialized device and got rid of the inspection due message in a minute and did not charge me a dime. He also suggested to bring the car for service when it is due next as I recently got the oil change done. No wonder this shop got 5 starts. I am glad I took my car to this shop. Rich and the Performance Autowerk team are fantastic. I've taken my 2007 A4 Avant here on three occasions (a carbon clean, valve cover/black smoke, exhaust issue) and you get nothing but quality work here. Most recently, I had black smoke and acceleration stutter when climbing hills or getting onto the freeway and did my own DIY replacement of coils, plugs, and valve cover to fix the issue. These are the things Rich wanted to start diagnosing, but he was inclined enough to ask me if I had done any recent work and instead of "put me on the clock" to check these things anyway, he scratched them from his notes and dug deeper. Rich was honest about my DIY valve cover replacement (non-OEM not recommended) and said he couldn't move forward until an OEM valve cover was in place -- and even then, that still might not fix the issue at hand. Upon replacing (and still stuttering/ smoking) they turned next to the intercooler pipes, which were full of oil and after draining them out, fixed the problem! Rich has taught me to invest in quality parts as well as quality service when it comes to these Audis. You get what you pay for and you'll realize that quickly after Rich fixes your problems you've spent months trying to solve for! read more

I bring my 2022 Audi S5 sportback here for all of my services and oil changes. They take great care of my car, and are super honest about what is needed and what is not. I work a hybrid schedule since the pandemic, and don't put as many miles on my car as I used to, and had a notification that my car was due for service. I made an appointment, but when I arrived, they looked at my mileage and said that it was not actually due for service, as the notification comes on either for time or distance, and in my case it was just based on time but I hadn't put in the mileage to warrant the service yet.
