I'm sharing this review to highlight a concern about customer service rather than food or atmosphere. We had a reservation and, due to an emergency, called ahead to cancel. During that call, the hostess assured us that we would not be charged the $50 cancellation charge. As it turned out, we were able to come in that same evening and dined at the restaurant, first enjoying drinks in front of the fireplace then being serviced by our favorite waiter, Paul. Despite this, a $300 cancellation fee was later charged to our card. When I contacted the restaurant to resolve the issue, the matter was escalated to management. The response focused solely on reiterating the OpenTable cancellation policy, without addressing the specific circumstances: we called in advance, were told we would not be charged, and ultimately honored the reservation by dining that evening. We have also stayed at the hotel and previously rented the private dining room, so this was not a one-time visit. That history made the interaction particularly disappointing. Policies are important, but so is discretion and guest communication. In this instance, the service experience did not reflect the level of hospitality one would expect. I hope this feedback encourages a review of how guest concerns are handled moving forward. read more

I have been here a few times so I can confirm, it's not because they are busy or holiday or any other excuse. The kitchen staff can't put out anything on the menu without messing it up... Be it dry burger, brick steak, (don't bother telling the waiter how you like it, it will never come out right) watery soup, salad with no flavor, I could go on and on. Yelp defines 3-stars as Okay. My experience does not rise to the level of Okay. I visited for dinner on Christmas Day. Not slammed, but busy enough and one demanding party of twenty. Appetizers were not offered, nor did we ask for them. Service was almost professional, but lacking finesse. The table top was granite and without a table cloth. Everything that was delivered, arrived with a metal on granite clatter - not placed quietly. A fork was bumped onto the floor during one delivery and the waiter attempted to crawl under the table to retrieve it - um, no. Not polite for the lady seated there. The pork trio was the star of the meal. They were tasty and the portion beyond generous. The ribeye was ordered medium rare and arrived medium well. Grrr. The brussel sprouts were properly prepared, but the pork belly garnish was so overcooked that it had a hint of being burned. Will I return? Probably not. I recently met friends here for an overdue get together and birthday celebration. I had been to a couple Mother's Day and Easter brunches and the experiences were top notch for quality and variety of food presented and their customer service. This visit Brandon was our server and he was very professional and pleasant, attentive at just the right times and helpful answering questions about our choices. Our food was delivered in a timely manner, cooked to request and just delicious. I was amazed during the evening that another server, Dean, had recognized me from waiting on us well over a year ago! Now that's customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion, whether a party of 2 or a larger gathering you won't be disappointed. I went here for dinner one night with my family, when we walked in the first thing I noticed was that all of the furniture was mismatched, damaged or just dirty. Next I saw how every single painting was crooked. Then we got tablets instead of an actual menu. On said tablet you could see 3 things, a sloppy user interface, photos of the food that looked like a 6 year old took them and the outrageous prices. I had the truffle ravioli and it was so rich I couldn't finish more than 3 because of how strong it was. Our server was nice but not even enough to warrant a second star. Booked a private dining room for a family dinner. We had a medium sized party with dedicated waitstaff and excellent attention. The room was cozy and had a fireplace for ambiance. We were greeted immediately by Chris who seated us. Service was very attentive by Cheri who checked on us frequently. I ordered perch tacos and the best perch I've had in quite awhile. Lightly battered and fried to perfection served on a soft taco. Other menu items at our table Shrimp linguini, crab cakes and chicken over rice. We all devoured scrumptious meals. Chris also stopped by our table and her friendly personality was so welcoming. She answered our questions in detail and showed us how to use the awesome menu pad device. The decor was almost in a way nostalgic - a very homey atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Good food and friendly service, what more could one ask for to complete a night out. I was staying at the beautiful Henry hotel in Detroit and didn't want to head out into the snow to find something to eat. I have eaten at the Tria before and it was pretty good then. It wasn't bad this time, just not really good for the price. Their menu was on an electronic tablet. You could select the item you were interested in and it enlarged the photo and gave you more details. That was pretty cool. I ordered the Pastrami Seared Beef Short Rib which is served over a German potato salad with a horseradish and whole grain mustard sauce. The presentation was great. The meat was laid out over the potatoes and the horseradish and whole grain mustard sauce was smeared around the edge of the plate. The "German Potato Salad" was not like any German potato salad that Ive ever eaten. It was not bad but it was somewhat bland. It didn't have that mildly sweet bitter flavor that I was expecting from a German Potato Salad. When I combined it with the meat and the mustard horseradish sauce it was more tasty. I was told, and was expecting, the shortribs to be somewhat more tender. I was expecting them to be falling apart but I think they took them out of the cooker, whatever process they used, a little too early. It was more like eating a sirloin steak than a braised or pressure cooked short rib. I meant sirloin steak, not filet or ribeye. I stopped by TRIA since it was one of the only two open places in an area. At first, I was a little nervous because the restaurant, which is in a hotel lobby, appears to be a little upscale - I was dressed in jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt. However, there was a wide range of folks wearing dressy to casual outfits, which put me at ease. I grabbed a seat at the bar and was immediately greeted by my waitress, who was super friendly. I started off with the crab and lobster cakes. I've never heard of lobster cakes, but they were done very well. Note: checking in with Yelp gets you a free appetizer. This is a great deal because TRIA has a nice selection of classy starter plates. The squid looked pretty good, but as a native from the Chesapeake Bay region, I am a crabcake fiend by nature. For my main course, I went with the fish n chips. For some reason, fish n chips are always my go-to when traveling - I guess it is hard for a restaurant to screw up this the dish. The dish was not mind-blowing (as one would expect from fish n chips), but it hit the spot. I would recommend this dish if you are not feeling too adventurous. Since TRIA is located in the lobby of a nice hotel, the prices are a bit on the mid to high range but the food and ambiance are well worth it. My only complaint, which is a personal preference, is having the menu on a tablet with touch screen. A party of 5 went to Tria for Xmas dinner 2024 and my comments: 1. For a high price-point Marriott hotel restaurant, the food was OK, but nothing to write home about--"good" but uninspired. My wife's Seafood Louie smothered in a very oddball dressing that was off-putting to her. 2. Our server was older and very nice, but very scattered in her service; she didn't hear me say I'm vegetarian and brought me a grilled brussels sprouts side with bacon that I didn't figure at first, since I've never been served it that way. When getting the check, she charged us for 2 aperol spritzs, when we ordered only one. We were happy the staff was willing to work on Xmas, but however... 3. For holidays, at least, white tablecloths over the cold-looking (marble?) tabletops would give the room a more formal, warmer feel. Otherwise ambiance was fine. 4. For guests arriving in long winter overcoats, the host should ask if guest wants to use the cloak room (they have one). I had to ask him. 5. The hotel lobby was impressive, as is much of the original art. 6. Beware the automatic revolving entry door to the hotel lobby. TRIA is located in The Henry Hotel and my group of four ate here on our last night in the Detroit area. Our server told us how amazing the bartender was, but we were all disappointed in our cocktails. I make better drinks at home. Between the guests, we had the smoked wings, ultimate side salad, lobster stuffed crab cakes, club sandwich and spiced apple crusted whitefish. The crab cakes were really wet on the inside. The club sandwich was the best item on the table. I regret not ordering one for myself. None of the other items had any real flavor. We were hoping for a really nice and amazing meal, but the price of the food ($200 for 4 people) didn't match the taste and quality. Stayed overnight at the Henry Autograph hotel for a girls' weekend trip and had dinner and breakfast here. I forgot to take a picture of my dinner but I had the grilled shrimp salad and shared the black bean quesadilla. The quesadilla was amazing and the salad was great because I wanted something light and simple, but they kind of ruined it with the ranch dressing. It didn't give me that classy feel and didn't pair at all with the watermelon and berries. I would ask for a different dressing or have no dressing at all. Tria is definitely worth a try if you're in Dearborn and have the extra money to spend on a nice dinner. I came with my coworkers for a work dinner, and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. The service was a little slow on drinks and food, and sometimes our items were forgotten and needed to be re-ordered. However, the wait staff were very kind about everything and patient with the amount of food orders we were throwing at them. We weren't in a rush, so it didn't bother us too much. Items are really hit or miss here. The brussels sprouts were absolutely amazing. These are the kind of brussels sprouts that could make anyone love them. Perfectly seared and seasoned! The mac and cheese was pretty good, too. It tasted very fresh and creamy. I ordered a chicken dish and it was decent. Not quite as well cooked as I expected for the price, but the portion size was generous. A coworker ordered the Whitefish and absolutely hated it, and did not wish to finish it. The wings appetizer had this odd taste to them that made me spit them out quickly. Not sure what they were seasoned with, but it wasn't described on the menu. It almost tasted like Chinese five spice. The pop overs were cold and tasted kind of stale, and I didn't enjoy them at all. My coworkers disagreed a little bit, but I just felt like they'd taste a lot better at least warm. My Caesar salad was again, fine, but I expected a little bit better quality for an upscale restaurant. The server did offer fresh pepper for it, which was great. The cocktails were just alright. They definitely weren't strong or anything to write home about. We all enjoyed a few bottles of champagne, and the waiter would pick and choose who he gave more to, which was super weird. I'm sure he was just doing his best, but there were some awkward times where the folks who wanted a little more did not get any, and those who did not ask were topped off. Dessert was pretty decent. My absolute favorite was a chocolate cake that was served semi-warm. I ate 3/4 of it myself because it was so great. The others I can't really remember, because they weren't my taste at all. The creme brulee was fairly good, though. Overall, Tria is best for ambiance and cocktails. A few of the appetizers are worth ordering if you're feeling like a snack, but the main courses missed the mark for me. It seems to be a little hit or miss with some of the menu. The ambiance and service was good, however. Warm towels in between courses was a nice touch. An absolutely perfect evening for an elegant, yet fun date night out! We came for a local "staycation" night at The Henry Hotel (which is stunning) and started off with drinks and charcuterie with friends. The wine list is beautifully curated here with many favorites, but also rare bottles you don't typically see on wine lists in the area. Great for special celebrations, that's for sure. Their charcuterie plate was a perfect start to the evening with a lot of very nicely presented options. Going into dinner that night, we were given some wonderful recommendations. Started with the Lobster & Crab Croquettes. Amazing and just the right amount for 2. For the main courses, we were encouraged to try their Apple Muffin Whitefish. We are normally steak and cab people so going for a fish dinner isn't normally out thing, but wow, were we blown away. Every bite, the apple, the glaze, the Brussels sprouts...just incredible. We split that dish alongside and perfectly grilled NY strip with fresh asparagus. There's just something about grilling over wood that adds something special. Let's move into the service. From start to finished, we had a true professional who made the entire night fun, perfectly-timed, friendly, upbeat..Dean was the best. The right people can truly make all the difference and he made it great! A huge thanks to him and the entire staff at Tria for a memorable night. One person should NOT eat this whole thing. - Henry Salad Fantastic local produce, just a touch of a nice sharp cheese, olives. - beet salad - small plate - great. - Deserts They have a desert sampler that was brilliant the first time we were there. The second time it was really good. The souffle is probably the best I've ever had. WINE LIST ========= Nice short list that is very affordable. They also offer 3, 5, and 8 oz. pours which I thought was brilliant. You can try a couple of small pours or get a bigger pour of something if you like. They have a few trophy wines on the list - maybe left over from the Ritz-Carlton Grill's fantastic list?? SERVICE ======= Well, it's been mixed. It's not yet at the level that was the Ritz-Cartlon. We've gone on the weekend which is less busy since it's in a (super nice) hotel. Oddly, the service has ranged from wonderful to "where'd they go?" [[The most peculiar experience was asking a server where something came from and then being told "made in house" for something that you can't really make in house. Then told the name of a farm that doesn't exist.]] On the whole they are super friendly and each visit has truly been a pleasure. The atmosphere is much brighter and open than the Rtiz Grill was. You could have a meeting of suits here or bring your family on the weekend. SUMMARY ========= Great food. Extremely good value for this level of food, wine and service. For hot food, they have thick cut bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, french toast, and home fries. In addition, they have various fruits that are amazingly fresh along with yogurt, breads to toast, cereal, and yummy pastries. The staff at Tria always greet you with a smile, and make a point to chit chat with you a bit to make you feel at home. The only item I will point out is that the omelette station can get quite slow or have a late start. Today, the omelette station didn't open by the time we finished our breakfast at 8:00am. Thankfully, our waitress advised us of the late start when we immediately sat down for breakfast and arranged for our omelette to be cooked in the hotel kitchen (cooked perfectly I might add). The decor in Tria is absolutely fantastic, with artwork throughout and beautiful furniture. It really is a pleasant place to have a nice meal and some good conversation. read more

So I normally wouldn't write a review on a hotel restaurant because I don't usually expect that much out of them. But this was so comical I just couldn't resist. the Henry is a cool hotel which is why I expected more. They have cool artwork everywhere and beautiful chandeliers. After a workout I headed to the restaurant for breakfast. No one was at the hostess station and we waited about 5 min for someone to finally come and seat us. Once seated, it took forever for out waitress to take our drink order and then even longer for her to take our food order. My friend ordered a Smoothie. When she brought it out, she proceeded to tell us how it was made from leftover berries from the buffet and how she buys turmeric from the dollar store and throws it in. Ummmm is that in line with health code for you to bring stuff from home to serve people? I ordered the chicken and waffle. It was the weirdest thing I have ever been served. I really wish I had taken a picture. There were two waffles, and I'm pretty sure they were Eggo, and two chicken breast. They were served on a plate with a bit of gravy on the bottom. Then there was hot sauce drizzled on the outside rim of the plate with fruit like blueberries and strawberries in it. there were 3 onion rings on top and a side of syrup. None of these things went together welll. Just an odd pile of food. Again it took forever for us to get the check. It's definitely not worth it. Just grab McDonald's instead. read more

Conveniently located right off of the freeway and near ford motor company world headquarters Tria is located in the gorgeous and aptly named Henry Hotel. We found it on yelp when we were looking for a great place for dinner with our family while in Plymouth. We were able to make a reservation on Opentable and as soon as we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly host who immediately seated us. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about not only the menu items but also the wine options. We started with a bottle of Chardonnay and the elephant ear garlic appetizer. The garlic was roasted to perfection and spread like butter on the bread. For entrees most of us had fish. The salmon and white fish were both fantastic and the Brussels sprout side and the roasted carrots were both amazing additions. To end the great dinner we had the key lime pie and selection of pastries. They were good portion sizes for the prices and hit the spot. BF and I had tickets to visit the Greenfield Village, so we wanted to stop for brunch before we went. There are honestly not too many options around the Village. BF suggested TRIA, which I had looked at previously. It's essentially a hotel restaurant, but it's a pretty decent one. The hotel itself is very nice and we were greeted by the doormen right away when we entered. Menus are on iPads here, which was pretty snazzy. We both opted for the Eggs Benedict with an added side of bacon to share. The bacon was perfect - crispy and crunchy. The eggs benedict was good, but nothing spectacular. Coffee was solid. Our waiter was fairly inattentive. He kind of disappeared after our food came and then did not reappear for a long, long time. We were probably sitting there for a solid 15-20 minutes looking for him in order to get our check. They have a breakfast buffet as well as a la carte items, but we opted to go a la carte since neither of us eats too much for breakfast. read more
