I've lived right down the street from Triangle for over a year and I finally visited them Saturday. I'm honestly surprised this place only had three and a half stars for an average review score. I mean they aren't a five star joint, but four stars for sure. They have some great deals including $1.50 mimosas ALL THE TIME and $1 Natty Lites. The food isn't too pricey, pretty moderate. We did the shrimp tacos and the nachos. I really liked the nachos a lot, the tacos were good. I just didn't love the aioli but that's just me being picky, my husband loved them. Luckily it was a gorgeous day so we picked an outside spot. It was loud out there as we were right next to a large twelve or more party of young college students. Otherwise the atmosphere was nice, especially people watching. The location is fantastic right in the heart of Avondale. They have their own parking lot but it gets crowded in the evenings so for late dinner or on a game day you'll probably need to do street parking. Street parking can be frustrating down there but you're bound to find something eventually, there's plenty of places to squeeze your car in. Our waitress was nice, she was quick and efficient no complaints with the service. The bathroom was a little rough around the edges but nothing I wouldn't expect from a sports bar! read more

They served me one of the worse meals I've ever had. How does one screw up something that is essentially a grilled cheese? Well this place did! There's 2 basic ingredients to a quesadilla, a tortilla and cheese, lots of cheese. This quesadilla barely had any cheese and what little cheese it had, was cotija. Cotija cheese doesn't really melt, it just softens. It would have been much better to use a jack cheese. Then they used fried chicken strips, breaded chicken doesn't belong in quesadilla. Next they put sticky white rice in it, last time I checked that was best served as a side dish to Asian food. Finally there was no salsa. They chopped up a mango and called it salsa, but only chopping a mango means you made a fruit cup, not salsa. It would have been far better if served with sour cream and pace picante sauce. I highly recommend whoever made this dish go to Qboda and try an actual quesadilla. If anyone does eat here stick to only the burgers, they clearly have no idea how to make basic Mexican food. read more

My wife and I went for Sunday brunch. The wait of 20 minutes for a table was not bad at all. Once we got to our table, things went downhill. My wife ordered a glass of orange juice. What was given to her was very WARM and it tasted/smelled like tap-water. Obviously, the folks drinking mimosas don't taste it, because it is spiked with champagne. We didn't get a chance to tell our waitress, because she did not pass by our table again after taking our order. 30 minutes after ordering, and not a single visit from our waitress, or anyone else, we left a $5 on the table to pay for my lemonade and my wife's OJ. The sad thing is that we were looking forward to what we ordered, but bar food doesn't take 30 minutes. There were plenty of open tables in our section, so it wasn't like they were slammed. Our server didn't look too stressed or over-worked as she leisurely passed by our table avoiding eye contact. We will not be back. Charleston has too many options for this to be acceptable. read more

Really really disappointed in the inconsistency for this place. Opted for something other than a burger and went for the salmon as a healthier option. It is almond crusted salmon with asparagus and mushroom infused rice. I can't do mushrooms, so waiter was great to sub in fries or extra asparagus. I went for the fries. The meal arrived, great presentation, everything else was kind of a fail. The only thing I'd suggest was the asparagus, which was lightly salted and chargrilled, very well executed. I like to try salmon everywhere and Chili's has executed salmon better. It wasn't even warm and was flavorless and really metallic and fishy, ugh, so disappointing. The fries could've broken a tooth. In the managements defense, they genuinely asked how everything was, I asked if they had anything to liven up the salmon with flavor, teriyaki or ANYTHING! He was thoughtful in bringing a "honey dijionase" I think.... And that was the ticket to drown the blandness. They should marinate it in that flavor unless they can do salmon more justice. I was kicking myself for the overpriced flavorless dish and wished I ordered the "coop" fried chicken sandwich like my friends. After our delicious meal, the server, a young gentleman, not far removed from the age of 20, ensured that we would have a good time that night. He informed us of the great happy hour deals, particularly the $3 shots. As a result, my partner and I thought "What could we do, but treat ourselves?" and were pleasantly surprised at the strength of his recommendation. Tipped on an insider drink; we had several. Three and a half stars, but I bumped them up because I had a blast here last Sunday! Can't say much about the food, since I only noshed on the lox app (they did give me an ample portion of lox, capers, onion and a nice dill cream cheese topping on every cracker, which was yummy) but I really came here for the Southbound Beermosa promotion, which is going to stick around until they run out of kegs-- GO drink some if you see this review over the next few weeks! Beermosas = Southbound Whit + a splash of OJ. This is great for those of us who don't really fancy champagne cocktails and like really good beer and need a good excuse to drink it before noon (i.e.- moi). However, for those who do like the bubbly-- this is the place for you with $7 mimosa carafes on the weekend!! No wonder this place is so busy! And the carafes are no joke. They pour a bottle in there for you with a hint of OJ. Solid. Their Bloody Mary selection was also impressive-- you get to choose your vodka, mix, rim and garnish. I tried the Titos with Charleston Mix, Cajun rim and olives: highly recommend it! Rest of the beer list was OK-- a few locals on tap like Tradesman and Holy City, but a lot of generics like Shocktop and Bud, too. On a side note, all of the liquor was definitely well priced-- despite veering away from the ridiculous carafe deal, I still did not spend a lot considering how much I drank. Atmosphere was fun, but also pleasing for many types of people: I guess that's the main positive you can say about this place is that it would appeal to many people for many different reasons. Major negative: the weekend brunch lines. Would I wait over an hour for a table here? Probably not! But saddling up to the bar immediately to drink some cheap and yummy morning cocktails-- OK, I'm all over that and would do it again! read more

Disappointed in the service! Have you ever walked into a restaurant and got the impression that the staff didn't like working their and so in turn didn't like the people that ate there...well this is that kind of place. My friend wanted to stop in on Sunday for lunch and I hadn't tried Triangle yet. We walked in and waited several minutes as the bartender gave us a blank look and the hostess was Pre occupied speaking to someone. When the hostess walked up and also gave us a blank deer in the head lights stare, almost as though she was waiting for us to tell her that we would like to be seated! I spoke up and said we would sit outside and the only words she finally spoke were "ok". No biggy I guess right? Well my friend and I found 2 seats outside and waited, and waited, then we waited some more. 20 minutes passes and we didn't even know who was going to serve us. I tried to flag down the two waitresses who kept passing us but they look pretty upset about who knows what. I finally mad eye contact with one and she looked right through me as though I wasn't there! We both walked right out, in front of the wait staff, was not spoken to still. Luckily there was a Mellow Mushroom next door. Go there...don't go here. On our way out my friend said their food wasn't even good and he just brought me here for the Mimosas lol. read more

To begin with, the building and location is cool. Avondale is a totally cool spot and you can walk to everything from Triangle. The outdoor bar is great and when the weather is nice they can open up every wall in the place so it all becomes completely indoor/outdoor. The drinks were good and service is okay. Not a bad spot to meet friends for drinks. My beef, no pun intended, with Triangle is the food. It's mediocre at best! Grass fed or not, it ain't even close to the best burger in town and everything else I've had there is just meh. The sides seem like an after thought too and nothing really stood out to me. The food here was awesome. The decor was pretty cool and it had a nice vibe with two outdoor areas and the indoor seating. They have outdoor Jenga set up but we didn't em get a chance to play, no biggie. We are in Charleston visiting and we're trying to find a late night dinner. I found this location on Yelp and decided to try it. We are happy we did and would recommend it. The only issue was our server. It wasn't too busy while we were here, she just had a big table clear out as we sat down. As she was walking by with food for another table she introduced herself and asked our drinks. As we were beginning to speak she walked away taking the food to the other table. She took our order and didn't write anything down then came back confirming that we ordered sweet potato fries but we did not order anything like that. Our food was brought out correctly and it looked really good. I asked for a condiment and she confirmed. She then went and sat on what looked like a cooler on her phone. It was never brought. . Overall it was a great place to go. The service wasn't bad just think she might want to focus on what she is doing and maybe write down the orders. I made my first visit to this place on a Friday night while visiting Charleston. Not too crowded but I liked the atmosphere. It was chilly out so they had the patio areas enclosed. Sat at the bar and I ordered a standard burger while watching some NBA. I asked for a medium grilled burger. The burger came out in a timely manner, but after a couple of bites it was obvious the burger was on the very rare side. It was still tasty, but very rare. I hardly ever send food back, but I'm never comfortable eating such rare meat. The bartender was very cool about it and put in another order. During this time, the manager came up and genuinely apologized for the error. He then gave me a free beer and apologized again. My second burger came out a few minutes later. I bit into it and juice spilled out. The meat was grilled perfectly. It was unbelievably juicy and just delicious. The fries had the right amount of salt and cooked well. Had a few more beers after the meal and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. They had Kona Longboard Lager which I like to drink, but can be hard to find. Restaurant cooks sometimes make mistakes, but the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the next burger far outweighed the fact that my first burger was undercooked. As a former restaurant owner, I applaud the staff for their handling of the situation and I will be back next time I'm in town. read more

Went on a Saturday night by accident ... were going to go to another place down the road but they had a wait. No wait at Triangle but a good amount of people. Cool atmosphere ... we sat outside in July but it was comfortable because of the misting fans. Rosemary popcorn for an app ... funky twist on a favorite. Came up from Jacksonville to see the eclipse. We forgot the glasses but a kind waitress was able to get us a few pairs! Excellent service! Outside seating was perfect for watching the eclipse! Ordered the $13 dollar burger and it was amazing and it was cooked exactly the way I wanted. Many came to see the eclipse here. We all had a fun time. We ate then we watched the rare eclipse. Brought a friend here who was from Brazil. The manager came over and gave us recommendations on where to take him for night life. Not just your average burger joint. We we're in town for a friends wedding and stopped by to grab a quick bite to eat before meetig up with friends. We chose Triangle Bar mostly because it looked like a cool place to hang, indoor and out, had the whole open air bar thing going, and it had had a unique triangle shaped lot. Upon entry and grabbing a menu we learned that the food choices were right up our alley too. As a burger place they serve local grass fed beef burgers, a plethora of fish tacos, and utilize local fresh ingredients from local farmers and bakers. And they had a wide selection of tasty craft and imported brews as well. The service was friendly and attentive. Certainly not a high class swanky gourmet place, but a very quality experience with good quality food and friendly service. I wuould defeintly goe back. read more

It's good for what it is. But my flank tacos were just kinda greasy, tasteless, and gross. They looked like a quesadilla! Sweet potato fries were decent but not crunchy. Fried broccoli was interesting but the sauce was just heated jalapeno cheese sauce. The best thing about this place is the outdoor seating and the beer selection. The waitress was also very nice and attentive. Which automatically makes my bad meal a little less terrible. I would return to give it a second chance. I have been going to triangles since the first one opened in MtP. The daily food is ok but the Sunday brunch especially the pulled pork eggs benny is amazing!
