LOVE this place for brunch! Our group of 5 wanted to go to Sunday brunch and were having trouble finding a nice place that didn't have a 45 minute wait. This restaurant is rather large, and was able to seat us immediately! The $7 pitcher of mimosas was a unanimous hit, and the food was absolutely delicious! I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. One downside, the parking lot is not great so we ended up parking on a side street. read more

Triangle Char and Bar is in the middle of it all. Avondale is a great area to experience in Charleston. Triangle has a great beer list and their burgers are very good. I recommend the egg-roll sampler. Really never had a bad meal there. read more

The food and drinks were good, however I had a hair in my drink and then my friend had a hair in the sauce that came with his dinner. Our other friend had the hummus and got sick later that night. I get that sometimes it happens and they were nice about everything but you think they would offer a discount or something if one table finds 2 hairs. How loud does a restaurant need to be at 3pm? We moved outside in the sweltering heat just so we could have a conversation. The music was blaring so loud we could hear each other from across the table. I used to live in Charleston and never ate here for this reason. I only suggested it because it was 'right there'. This is usually the place to which I take any out-of-town guests since it's uniquely Charleston and people love the open air setup. The food's pretty good and they are known for their fish tacos. That said, I never really find myself coming here too often unless I have guests. As other reviewers have noted, parking is a gigantic PITA. Stay away on Sunday mornings as it gets PACKED. read more

Our first server laura was pretty awesome. My boyfriend and I arrived am hour after our other party and she was funny and checked in enough where it wasn't annoying but not where she ignored us...then shift change came...1 hour and 45 minutes later we FINALLY received service after we ask a boh employee for one. We were told at shift change we would have a server but never saw one. Went to the bar for drinks watched the two table right next to us get service...nothing. The server who finally came up to us didn't even have us in their section. Terrible. read more

Finally tried Triangle after driving by it for 4 years. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious my boyfriend and I had a very hard time deciding what we wanted to eat. So we decided to order 4 appetizers: popcorn with white truffle oil and parmesan, pbr wings, jalapeno cheddar grit cakes, and the seasonal toasts with butternut squash, radicchio, and goat cheese. I would have to say the jalapeno cheddar grit cakes are definitely spicey! which I love but they weren't as good as I expected. The wings were not seperated like most wings that we have had, so they were these huge wings! they were pretty good, but be prepared to get messy and ask for a couple of extra napkins! The popcorn was really yummy and it was a LOT for only $3! My favorite thing though was definitely the toasts with butternut squash! I would highly reccomend that you get there are soon as possible before they change that up! They were awesome! We are going to have to go back and try the grassfed beef burgers they sounded delicious and many more appetizers! One thing I would suggest is more of a beer selection! But besides that, the food was original and yummy and the service was EXCELLENT! read more

Had high hopes for triangle but it seems to just be an average place to get some food. I got the nap: a burger with 2 grilled cheese sandwiches as buns. To called it grilled cheese was laughable. It was basically the equivalent to one peice of kraft cheese melted between two peices of bread. The regular fries were soft and greasy. My wife ordered the Korean BBQ tacos and it was meat with almost no taste of anything else. My daughter ordered the grilled shrimp kids meal and it was by far the worst shrimp I have ever had at a restaurant. She did not like it at all. Overall an average score for an average experience. We ended up here on a Sunday morning for brunch after the place we originally wanted to eat at had an hour wait. We called ahead of time, on the recommendation of a friend. They told us they would have the table ready for us, so we drove about 15 minutes and upon our arrival our table was set, just as promised. We had a large party of 9 and it was a busy Sunday morning so we expected it to take awhile. We were ok with this because we were planning to visit with each other. The server was extremely friendly and sweet, but she was very overwhelmed. It took us awhile to put our order in, to get drinks, and to even get simple things like lemons. We had to keep asking and reminding her to grab stuff. Once our food arrived, the "food runners" didn't even know the dishes they were delivering so one had to carry the food back to the kitchen to ask what they were. Our orders were correct and everything looked great. The food quality is top notch and everything was delicious. This was a huge relief because judging by the service, this restaurant would be a complete miss. Oh, and one other thing that was odd is that the servers kept dropping and breaking things. Our table was near the bar and no kidding, I bet servers broke at least 6 glasses just while we were eating. The atmosphere was upbeat and fun. It's an open air restaurant with plenty of patio dining and even some seating on a grassy area that was animal friendly. The location is tricky to get to, if you're not familiar with the area and parking was tight but there was some additional parking a few feet away. I would definitely give this place another try because maybe the staff was having an off day. Quick seating time and good food is enough to bring me back. read more

Just ate here with our 2 boys. This is the second time we've eaten here. Service has been great both times and the food has been great both times. We love the patio atmosphere. I had the pad Thai made with spaghetti squash, it is SO DELICIOUS! You can't even tell it's made with spaghetti squash. Mac n chz is delish. Mahi mahi tacos are super good-Fantastically seasoned. The bloody Mary's leave something to be desired but since that's my go to drink I'm a bit of a Bloody Mary snob, if that's such a thing haha. We will def be frequenting this place. (: read more

Absolutely no complaints. Love the atmosphere on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, sitting on the patio. We usually go to the Summerville location, which is also great. We were just in this area today. We were greeted quickly with waters and got our mimosas within moments. The food is good. We only had appetizers today. The low country rolls with pulled pork and collards are very tasty--the idea put me off at first, but they are very good. The mustard sauce in the side compliments them very well. read more

I've had to stop listening to the radio, because I became sick of listening to the Triangle Char and Bar commercial ramble on about their grass fed beef, blah blah blah. Yes, their burger is probably healthier due to the grass fed nature of the burger - the cows and subsequently the burgers are leaner. However any burger aficionado knows that the flavor of the burger comes from the fat. Additionally the fat helps retain the natural juices and helps prevent the burger from drying out. So - what char and bar gives you is exactly what they advertise; a dry, flavor-lacking burger. Its not for me, but some folks might like it. read more

This is the kind of place you go to have drinks and enjoy the atmosphere and that's pretty much it. I do not recommend eating here. Steak was cold and difficult to eat, fries were soggy, the waitress asked for our drink order twice before she went to go get it. Very, very underwhelming. Went today for the first time in awhile! My Bartender Miranda was incredible. Very polite and attentive to my needs. The drinks came out correct and the service was delivered with a smile! The food came out fast and was delicious. My wife and I enjoyed it. In a town where there is a restaurant on every corner it's nice to walk in to a place and be welcome by a great smile at the door and at the bar! Kuddos to you Triangle! I have been here several times and really want to like it. The atmosphere is exactly what I would want if I owned a restaurant, bright, airy, with lots of color, and a little funky. So A+ on that. The food is okay. I've had a couple of pretty good dishes (the egg rolls being the best), unfortunately I've had more disappointing dishes. I am far more likely to go here for a couple of drinks, than for the food. Great place to sit and drink a mimosa. The service is average at best. They have a small parking lot, but sometimes parking can definitely be a pain. The place always looks packed and I have to assume people love it for the atmosphere. read more

We arrived at our hotel late and this place was recommended by hotel staff as nearby, good food and open late. It was a Friday night and we were seated right away at one of the outside patios. I had the Green Gobbler (a turkey burger) and my friend had a Plain Jane burger. We both agreed they were good. The sweet potato fries on the side were also good. Service was friendly and quick. There were lots of other restaurants, bars and shops nearby. It's in the West Ashley area. read more

We've been there many times over the past 2 years...usually good solid food. However the other weekend was very disappointing. We arrive late afternoon Sunday, ordered burgers and salad with chicken breast. The burger was not well done as ordered. The piece of chicken that came on the salad was not blacken as ordered by my wife. When the waitress returned it to the kitchen we had to wait over 15 minutes for her meal to reappear. Even then it was not done as ordered. Also I ordered the Sam Adams Oktoberfest - came out flat as water. Waitress gave me a "look" when I changed my order to an ice tea. .Overall....a real disappointment for one of our favorite places after boating. Might be time to move on... read more
