    Seafood Pasta

This has been one of the best oyster bars for years. Can't believe I haven't given a review. I do miss the OLD management staff of Rob and Rebecca, but the oysters are still good, especially at happy hour. This last visit the waitress seemed to forget about h me with everything I asked for. I would have to ask a passing waitress or the Manager whenever she was bringing food out. It was y that busy, so I'm not quite sure if she was just to far stretched, as I did notice the two tables on either side of me, once occupied, was serviced by another young lady. As for the oysters and accompaniments , they were delish. Also sampled a couple of their specialty oysters as well. I decided to try the seafood pasta and it was delish as well. Seafood was not overcooked and the sauce was pretty good as well. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Went here after a few museums. This is what I'd been looking for since arriving in Charleston. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great vibe, reasonable prices, great food and drink![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely try the chicken noodle vodka shot! Would come back when I'm back.

This place is phenomenal. We arrived for an early dinner and were seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was about 75% full of diners so you know it gets busy during peak times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was very nice and super fast bringing our items out. This is an all hands on deck place, you see hostess, manager and servers alike doing whatever needs to get done, making it run efficiently. Had a moktail (not pictured) but it was pomegranate basil cucmber mint and soda water. Food was fantastic, wish we had ordered the larger soup instead of the cup. Both were great, couldnt decide which was better if the gumbo or the clam chowder. The warm (comes cold as well) lobster roll is small (not shareable) think larger texas toast slice as your roll, for the $24 but it was really good. Desert was a toffee brownie mug cake thats was ok, not dully warmed through but had potential. Overall this is a must do when in Charleston.

We were doing a little Happy Hour Tour and visiting places we haven't been too when we stopped at Pearlz. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We lucked out and were able to sit at the main bar, we prefer this as we can converse with others.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely always busy here from what we have seen passing by each time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are several different seating options available but its probably best to make a reservation to guarantee a seat. I didn't catch the name of our bartender but he was great- friendly & knowledgeable. I really wish I would have taken a picture of the menus, I can't find the ones we had online or in the reviews here. Anywho, I was made a fabulous drink. The better of drinks that I have tasted lately. Okay, incoming unpopular opinion, im not a big seafood person. But.... if I were these oysters were massive and from what I gathered from my other half they were very tasty! I did venture out and try my 1st baked oysters though! And I'll will admit, I liked them! Alabama White- came recommended from our bartender. I would even get them again! High praise from a seafood lover and not so much seafood lover. Whichever you are Pearlz is worth checking out, as you might be surprised like I was. :)

Food and service was really good! Came for a Saturday happy hour and Pearlz did not disappoint. My favorite was the raw oysters.

Highly suggest getting a reservation if you would like to eat here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat up at the bar which was perfect for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The oysters were amazing! They rotate their daily specials depending on which is available. We didn't need to use the condiments they provided us. The bowl of seafood gumbo was also very good! We would recommend this place if you are looking for some fresh oysters and good food!

The dressed oysters are an absolute must! I'm a huge fan of their happy hour which kicks off at 4pm Monday - Friday and has $5 glasses of wine! The restaurant looks small from the outside but they have lots of tables. Great for friends visiting or taking family to a nice dinner without going downtown. My favorite place to sit is at the bar near the chucking station, great service and always super enjoyable to chat with the team!

Such a great happy hour spot in Avondale area. Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM and even on Saturday and Sunday for food. $5 wines and $10 for a half dozen oysters. This is also the only place that you can get dressed oysters, which come with a topping on the house oysters. They even have smash burgers and non-seafood related items for the no fish eaters. The bartender is super nice and friendly so if you do get the opportunity to set the bar, I highly recommend. They have a dedicated oyster shocker who can tell you all about the oysters and the Charleston area. The parking lot is pretty small in front, but there are a couple of spots available on the side streets. This place does tend to fill up quickly so get here early if you can. Reservations are available, but I've never had to wait too long.

Happy Hour at Pearlz is where it's at for seafood and oyster lovers. The corn fritters and that seafood gumbo was out of this world. The oysters were delightful and pairing them with a Cabernet and a Pinot Grigio made the experience even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone was pleasant, the place was cool and I can see myself going back again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The baked oyster rockafella was delicious I noticed that those are are a popular choice. The bucket of steamed oysters also a plus. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and good. The broccoli was kind of hard, like burnt. The pan seared salmon was burnt but after taking the top off it was good. The butter that rolled around my plate made the food taste better. The server was very attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and blazing sunlight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was a great find. We really enjoyed the neighborhood feel of this place with how everyone treated each other. A very traditional oyster joint with hardwood tables, chairs, floors, and bar. Very backyard country feel with great staff and knowledge about oysters. We really enjoyed the happy hour drinks and bites and thought the menu had a great balance between high and low. I was MOST impressed with the selection of Oysters on the menu. Most places here in Charleston shop local oysters only. Don't get me wrong, some local oysters are wonderful, but I've always preferred more northern oysters and Pearlz did not disappoint. We ordered two rounds of oysters they were so delicious. If you're looking for a local spot to enjoy great food and oysters, come on in. My only caution is their fries are spicy so if you're sensitive to spice, order them plain. See you soon Pearlz!

Char Broiled Oysters Pearlz with raw oysters

Stopped by here after dinner to eat more oysters at the bar. It wasn't extremely busy on a weekday, so we were seated immediately. The oysters were fresh and briny- just like how I like it. They provided saltine crackers in case people have texture issues with oysters, along with their house made vinaigrette sauce. The charbroiled oysters were good, better than some Rockefellers I've tried somewhere else, since they're usually salty. Drinks were strong, I felt the buzz after a few sips! Can't go wrong here if you want some drinks and oysters !

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly. We accidentally forgot to update our reservation from 6 to 7, and the staff was incredibly patient and kind while waiting for a table that could accommodate our group. They made us feel so comfortable and even let us enjoy a drink in the waiting area while everything was sorted out. No stress at all. Once seated, our server was fantastic. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and more than happy to give recommendations, which was much needed because everything sounded amazing. They even played along with our Christmas party raffle games, which made the night extra fun. Such a cool, welcoming vibe. For appetizers, we shared the lemon ricotta dip, the Dippin' Shrimp, the spinach artichoke dip, and a spicy Caesar salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. For my main course, I ordered the pecan-crusted chicken with a side of Brussels sprouts, and wow. Phenomenal. Huge portions, incredible flavor, and we were all stuffed by the end. Amazing service, amazing food, and an overall great experience. I cannot wait to come back again. This is officially a go-to spot for celebrations.

The James doesn't stick out and I had driven by it hundreds of times since moving to the area. Parking was easy in the back lot and I was surprised to see just how packed it became by the time we left. Upon entering the staff was very nice and happy to see us. We got a table and got our menus. The cocktail menu looked exciting but we decided to skip drinks in lieu of dessert. For dinner my wife ordered the pecan fried chicken and I ordered the prime rib melt. The toasted cherry sauce was creamy and very tasty. I found the prime rib melt good. It unfortunately was a bit bland overall with the au jus being a bit too watered down. Overall though I think the food was good. For dessert we had a creme brûlée that was top notch. I'm glad we got that instead of drinks. Our server and the other service staff were attentive and quick. I drank a lot of water and didn't have to wait long for a refill. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and explore some other dishes.
