After party

Jessie was truly one of the best decisions I made for my wedding weekend. She did my hair for every single event -- the trial, welcome party, pool party, wedding day, and even the after party -- and I was genuinely obsessed with every single look we created together. From the very beginning, Jessie completely understood my vision while also elevating it in ways I didn't even know to ask for. Each style felt intentional, unique, and perfectly suited to the vibe of the event, yet still felt like me. Whether it was effortless and beachy, elevated glam, or timeless bridal, she absolutely nailed it every time. And to make it even more impressive -- the entire weekend was extremely humid, and Jessie knew exactly how to work with my hair in those conditions. She adjusted styles, products, and techniques flawlessly, and my hair held up beautifully through heat, humidity, long days, and lots of dancing. I never once had to worry about it, which is priceless during a wedding weekend. Beyond her talent (which is next-level), Jessie is such a calming, positive presence. Wedding weekends can be a whirlwind, and she made me feel relaxed, confident, and completely taken care of the entire time. She has that rare ability to make you feel both pampered and at ease -- like you're in the hands of a true professional and a friend. I truly felt my best all weekend, and every time I looked in the mirror I was blown away. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect experience or a more talented artist by my side for such an important weekend. Jessie is the absolute best, and I would recommend her a thousand times over to any bride or anyone wanting to feel their most confident, beautiful self.

Before I had a cut/color with Anabell

ANABELL P! I didn't see any reviews for you and that's unacceptable! She did such an amazing job on my hair! This was my first time at the salon and I was nervous because I'm one of those people who are heavily attached to their hair, especially the length. Anabell was very thorough in our consultation, making sure I understood the process and aftercare. I have waist length hair and stressed the importance of keeping it long, but still wanting some movement. She checked with me multiple times to make sure I was happy with the layers and amount of face framing that was added. Most importantly, she actually kept the length, but gave me the change I was looking for. Also, my color is on another level! I came in asking for a dark brown, but not expecting anything life changing. She blew me away with the color she mixed up. My hair looks healthy, shiny, and has so much dimension to it. I showed my sisters and they could not stop raving about. My sister actually ran to book an appointment for her daughter. I enjoyed that I didn't feel pressured to have a conversation if I didn't want to. If I talked, she talked and I didn't, we just chilled and I really appreciated that! Everyone, please go see Anabell, you won't be disappointed! The work speaks for itself (see photos)!

I was a 2024 bride, and I've held onto this review for over a year because I didn't want to act out of emotion or be unfair. But I feel a responsibility to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. My experience with Tribez (Blackhawk location), specifically with Jessie Klaus (hair) and Termeh Afkari (makeup), was extremely unprofessional, unreliable, and stressful--especially during the final weeks before my wedding. I booked both artists well in advance. What followed was a pattern of repeated cancellations, shifting prices, inconsistent communication, and dismissive behavior. Timeline of events: March 7: Scheduled my first hair and makeup trial for March 23. March 22: Canceled due to an unknown emergency; rescheduled for April 4. April 4: Canceled again because Jessie's kids were sick; rescheduled for April 10. April 10: Canceled again because Jessie was sick; rescheduled for April 27. April 27 - First trial finally happened (Termeh did not complete the makeup look, and hair was not styled as requested): - Paid $300 to Jessie for the hair trial (original trial quote $250 + 20% gratuity). - Paid $225 to Termeh for makeup. She had originally quoted me $100 for the trial and $250 for bridal makeup, and told me the trial fee would be applied toward the bridal service. - She did not complete my makeup at this trial because it kept pilling on my face. - We decided a second trial would be best for both hair and makeup, as the hairstyle was incorrect, and the makeup was not lying on my skin correctly. - At this point, I was very concerned--especially after already paying Jessie $300--Termeh reassured me they would "make things right." - Then she asked to "bill me out" and told me the total was $225 for the half-completed trial. The amount was unexpected and felt like an on-the-spot upcharge. - My hair wasn't styled as requested and wouldn't hold a curl. Jessie said the issue was my haircut and that my hair "couldn't hold" without being cut by her--so I booked a separate $180 haircut with her (this haircut did not make a difference, but at this point, I was feeling desperate with my approaching wedding date). Total paid at this point: $525 for an incomplete trial. May 18 - Haircut: Paid $180 for the haircut Jessie said was necessary. Total paid at this point: $705. May 22 - Second trial canceled again: Jessie wasn't feeling well, and Termeh refused to do her portion without Jessie. Multiple calls to the salon went unanswered. The Danville Tribez location eventually intervened to schedule the final trial. June 5 - Final trial: - Makeup artist arrived late. - No lipstick applied ("we don't do lipstick for brides"). - No lashes applied ("your look is too natural for lashes"). - Hair fell apart within minutes of leaving (see photos outside of the salon). When I walked back inside to show Jessie that my hair was already falling out, we were told she was "busy" and wouldn't speak to us unless a deposit was paid--just to discuss fixes. Jessie was dismissive and made me feel like an inconvenience. Termeh was friendlier but unreliable, repeatedly canceled, and changed prices in person without warning. When I requested a refund for the unexpected makeup upcharge, it was refused, and both sent unprofessional messages. Final Thoughts: Emergencies happen, but this pattern--repeated cancellations, inconsistent pricing, unfinished work, lack of communication, dismissiveness, and refusal to correct charges--is unacceptable for any client, especially a bride weeks from her wedding. It was incredibly stressful during a period when reliability matters most. I'm grateful another salon ultimately stepped in and saved the day. I waited a full year to write this so I could be objective, not emotional. But brides deserve professionalism, consistency, and respect. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Tribez Blackhawk for bridal hair or makeup.

The root she gave me. Look at the highlight placement! How is that lived in?!

I wasn't going to write this review, but I just HAVE TO, as I'm STILL dealing with the absolute catastrophe that Jesse did to my hair. My old stylist just wasn't listening to me anymore and I went to Jesse for a lived in balayage look. I had just seen my previous stylist, so she explained she needed at least 8 weeks of grow out to use my natural color as my base and lowlight. That made sense. I went back 8 weeks later, SO EXCITED to finally get the look I wanted. I have my license, although don't do hair. But I know their terminology and my roots at home in between appointments with professional color. I gave Jesse my exact formula to cover the little grey I had, 5n Shades. I explained I absolutely did not want permanent color on my roots as it always fades orange. Shades is semi-permanent. I wanted money pieces in the front, & lived in in the rest. See inspo photo. Upon blow drying, I couldn't look in the mirror. Btw, the blow drying. Her assistant did it and while she was doing it, they were saying how much they loved that blow dryer. Yea bc it's scorching HOT. It was BURNING my scalp. I had to ask her to turn it down 2x. I also had to request, BOTH visits, for a heat protector. Even after I explained I was very prone to breakage (curl hair). They do not apply ANYTHING after the shampoo, just start blow drying. Even after bleach! This is SOOOOO BAD for your hair. You need at the very least, a leave-in conditioner & heat protector. After the blow drying, I looked, I was appalled. Not only were my roots LIGHTER (color can only lift if it's permanent), but there were no money pieces and just highlights at my roots (not lived in). I was in shock. She literally didn't listen to a word I said despite me showing 3 photos. Ignored my request to not use permanent color, an and gave me HOT ROOTS. I was there for 6 hours bc she had to put 5n shades back on my roots, but only dud the top of my head. LEFT THE REST. So when I put it in a bun or pony, it was ORANGE on the sides and underneath. This is a very high-end EXPENSIVE salon, I paid almost $600, & it looked like I got it done at a beauty school. She ended up refunding me, but my hair BROKE OFF after, & I'm still dealing with the permanent color as it's fading brassy, as I knew it would. I know she had just left a treatment facility, which I was super proud of her for, but she was definitely not ready to come back to work. This will take me at least a year to grow out, probably more. And I went to her for HELP. I just still can't believe it. Before my appointment I texted her about what products I should get. No response. I was trying to spend money, & zero response. So odd. The salon itself is dated. I worked there back in my 20's when it was Salon 4062, and not much had changed. The front is cluttered. Customer service is meh, & her assistants (she had like 4) were not professional. It was a TERRIBLE experience. I don't know what happened. Maybe my color got mixed up with another client bc she was doing 4 of us at a time. It's so bizarre to me. Just look at the photos. It's not even close. Such a waste of 6 hours on a Thursday & set me so far back from my goal. I'm still so mad about it bc now, I have SEVERE breakage around my face (the most delicate hair). Shame on her. She continued to defend instead of taking responsibility, but at least she refunded me.

Everyone was super nice from the front desk to all the different stylists. My son and I went in to get our haircuts at the same and they were understanding of our needs (I wanted layers and my son just wanted a trim and we both have thick Asian hair). Gina worked with me while my son was seen by Nelson. And I really connected with the front desk person and we ended up chatting about the jewelry she curated. We will definitely be coming back!

ALMA, is amazing when it comes to COLOR and Highlights. She had never worked with my hair which is black and hard to work with. I am very happy with her work, and the way she blended what I already had. I wanted Baby-Lights on my roots, and the rest of my hair was colored light with highlights. See for yourself, pictures attached.

After COVID related closures on salons had been lifted I eagerly returned to (salon name) in an effort to support both the salon and my stylist. However, much to my dismay the experience was absolutely terrible and has left me with severe damage to my hair. Upon sitting in the chair I expressed to my stylist that extra precautions needed to be taken around the edges of my hair that frame my face. They had fallen out and broken off prior to the quarantine, and had regrown during the quarantine. I attribute this to my now ex-stylist not properly caring for my hair and damaging it with excessive heat. She blatantly disregarded my instructions, and began to use excessive heat alongside a metal brush to blow dry my hair. Further, she did a lackluster job at washing my hair which resulted in excessive product and dye build up that lead to scalp irritation. To add further insult to injury, she proceeded to erupt in tears and explain her tumultuous relationship with her boyfriend. The botched service that I paid for also doubled as a therapy session, and her incredibly unprofessional demeanor made me uncomfortable as I was forced into consoling her. Additionally, this would not be the first time She has over shared the details of her life. Due to feelings of guilt and sadness I have ever helped her through prior financial hardships by crafting a resumé for her, and consoled her then. Overall, I am extremely disheartened by the level of treatment I have received. I have been more than generous as a client, and in return I am rendered lackluster services. My hair has begun to fall out from the root again in mass clumps, and this is absolutely infuriating. Please avoid this salon at all costs!

As you can see left side is way longer than the right. He attempted to fix it (after extensively blowdrying my hair) clearly didn't work

I've been getting my extensions done by her for over a year now, and my hair has grown so much. It's healthier, fuller, and I finally feel confident again. She genuinely cares about the health of your hair and never pushes you to do something that could compromise it. You can tell she really knows what she's doing, and that gave me so much peace of mind after my previous experience. The blends she creates are honestly insane. My natural hair matches my extensions perfectly, and no one can ever tell I'm even wearing them. They look and feel so natural. She's also incredibly professional, always responds quickly, and does everything she can to get you in as soon as possible. If you're looking for someone who specializes in both color and extensions and want a major transformation without sacrificing the health of your hair, Assillah is the person to go to. I recommend her to everyone!

Since I havre naturally dark hair, I was told by so many stylists that it's a "process" to get that ashy color and it would take a few visits. However, after almost a decade of dealing with orangey highlights, it was time for a change. I did love my old stylist, but a new salon owner made it difficult to book with her. Thankfully, I found Assilah Latifi at Lush Salon. She has a deep understanding of formulating the right shade for you to flatter your skin tone and natural hair color! She gently explained that dying your roots with a dark permanent color would affect the highlights as that root grows out and make the effect orange. In one long session, she was able to cancel that orange and achieve that ashy highlight look I was hoping to get. Not only that, she was extremely professional. She was on time, took care to explain the process and was very transparent with her pricing. On top of that, she is caring and kind. I am so happy I found a true gem of a stylist!
