Good afternoon, Daiana had cut my hair nov 24 at 3:30pm and I left very unsatisfied. When she was washing my hair, her long nails scratched my neck and ears. After finishing the haircut, she didn't show me how it was with a mirror on my back, as usually hairdressers do. So, I couldn't see how it was. When I got home I looked on the mirror, and realize one side was different from the other one. It is extremely visible. I don't feel like going back to fix it, because I'm afraid it will got spoiled even more. That is why I would like to ask you my money back. I got a call from the salon saying that his policy doesn't return my money, what they can do is fix the damage. would you come back to fix it? I honestly am afraid to come back and spoil more! I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received at Tricho Salon. I called about a month ago asking for assistance with color matching for hair extensions, and the front desk person lady had me speak with the hair extension stylist. She suggested that I schedule an extension consultation. The appointment was scheduled and I was more than happy to have a professional consultant help with extension options. I arrived at the appointment on time and waited over an hour. Once I was seen by the stylist she was multitasking and working on another girl's hair while doing my consultation. I was wanting hair extensions for my wedding day hair and specifically showed her the hairstyle I was wanting. I told her I did not want permanent extensions and she suggested the halo couture design. She placed the halo on my hair and the color worked great and it seemed easy to use, and she suggested the 22-unch length. The consultation was only 5-10 minutes total after waiting for over an hour. I went to the front desk after and said I would like to order the halo couture. Both front desk ladies, and the hair extension stylist did not know how to order, what information they would need, how long it would take, or the price. They stated that they would call me with the information. They sent me a text a few days later with the price of the halo extension which was $670. I was SHOCKED at how much it was and needed some time to think. I called the Salon asking if I could just see the halo couture extension in my hair again and get pictures to justify the purchase prior to confirming and putting money down . This was not an option and the front desk lady said I would have to make an appointment with the hair extension stylist again. I was already on my way there, and they gave me the stylist phone number to text to find a time to work. I was texting with the stylist and she only had one time that would work the following day at 1:30 pm. I asked if I could confirm or let her know if I could or could not make it in the morning, and never got a response back saying she had me down on her schedule or that the appointment was for sure happening. The following day I get a call from Tricho salon, stating that I was 20 minutes late to my appointment (that I did not know was scheduled), and that they would have to cancel. I called back explained the situation and asked if I could schedule another hair extension consultation. This time there was a note on my profile that I had to put $50 down for the appointment. I gave them my credit card information and paid the $50. I showed up this appointment 5 minute early. I waited 50 minutes again for my appointment. Again the stylist was working with another girl's hair at the same time, and the student she was working with that day was primarily the one helping with the consult. The stylist asked what questions I had and that she can answer my question and work on the other girls hair simultaneously. I asked again about the style and length, and the color match. I got the pictures of the back of my head and the front. The consultation again was only 5 minutes after waiting for 50 minutes. I went to the front desk and asked two girls again if I could order this, again they could not order and said someone else will have to call me. I got a call Thursday, May 9th to purchase the Halo Couture Extension. I gave them my credit card information, and the lady asked me if I had any idea on how long these would take to come in, I said no I have gotten zero information and as the customer I was hoping that they would provide this information. Fast forward, Friday May 10th I had my pre-trial wedding hair and makeup appointment. I explained to the hair stylist that I ordered a halo extension, and showed her videos and photos of the hairstyle I was wanting for the wedding. She told me that she would not recommend the halo couture extension, and that 22 inches was way too long to incorporate with my natural hair. She said that clip in extensions would be better to get the fullness and length needed for my hair. I was devastated!!!!! To summarize, I waited over 110 minutes for a ~15 to 20 minute total consultation time spanning over 3 different encounters with tricho salon. I have now spent $670 on a hair extension that is not what my hair stylist for the day of the wedding would recommend; specifically that the length was not close at all to what she would recommend and the halo style was not appropriate for the look I was going for. I trusted and was very patient with Tricho salon, and thought I was getting the right product for my hair. This was not the case. I called to cancel my order and had to try 4 different times. Once somebody answered the phone, they stated that they cannot help me because a manager is not in today. I am extremely upset and disappointed. As a fine man, I cannot let my hair go uncut for more than 2 weeks. With that said, I have gotten numerous amounts of haircuts from close relatives, to cheap/sketchy salons, and even myself. But I can honestly and truthfully say that I have never gotten a more well done haircut from anyone other than the highly talented Amanda Lynn. To start, Amanda is beyond polite and warm with a generous and beautiful smile. Her tips/pointers show that she actually cares about her work and wants to make sure that you are satisfied. Getting a haircut from someone for the first time is frightful, but her knowledge in cosmetology will settle your nerves and make it a pleasant experience. I had a public speaking event on a Monday and was so thrilled this salon was open on Sunday. I made an appt for a Hair Glaze to have add shine to my hair and get a nice blowout. I have platinum blonde highlights beautifully done. I've had many compliments on my colorist's work - even the stylist at Tricho was very impressed and asked where I had them done. We sat and consulted and she said my hair was a little brassy. I told her to use purple shampoo. She then brought up adding a cool tone to the Glaze. I was hesitant but she seemed to indicate it would help. I was not that brassy and my tone was fine to me. But I thought maybe it will make my platinum pop even more - just like when I use the purple shampoo. It ended up my beautiful blonde highlights were toned to a deeper almost gray color. And the rest of my hair darkened as well. It was awful. I got home and washed it apprx 7 times with Dawn dish soap. I would wash and dry it and it still was not right so I was shampooing until 10pm at night. I could see a dark color coming out in my shower. It helped, but was still not right. I bought clarifying shampoo and did 4 more shampoos that week. It's improved but the condition of my hair is awful. So that was one problem. The second issue was the end price. They gave me an apprx price of $75 over the phone. When I went to check out - it was $100. I knew the price could vary a little but I did not expect it to be that much. They explained it was because they changed the stylist and gave me someone who charges more. But no one told me that beforehand. They had called to move my appt earlier but had not relayed I had a different stylist than first discussed. I had many phone calls and discussions with the manager who was polite but offered no help.  They offered a token $25 gift to use on products.  I refused and asked for my full amount back.  She told me she would discuss it with the owner.  After weeks of phone tag, she finally told me no refund would be issued.   The girls there are young, inexperienced, and do not seem to know basics as far as coloring.  Obviously I am unhappy and unimpressed.  Customer service was poor.  It's one of those salons they hype up but basic skills and experience are lacking. read more

I was shopping at Somerset for my birthday and decided to have my eyebrows waxed while here. I did not have an appointment, but they were able to see me immediately. First time there today. I go to Somerset often, so I am familiar with the area, prices and quality it has to offer. Wasn't too impressed with this salon. I have straight black hair, so nothing hard to cut. Anyways, I was a walk in client. I was happy they were able to take me right away. Was asked if I had a preference on hair stylist. I said no. I will not say her name but she was new and was probably around my age. (22) She wasn't overly friendly and didn't gush about my hair like most stylists do. That's fine but I wish she would have tried to make discussion once. Then from there you can see if the client wants to talk or is there to relax. She washed my hair. She did alright but would have been nice to have massaged my scalp more. And warmer water It was probably a little less than room temperature. I just came in for a trim, about 1 inch. She took her time and didn't rush it. The best part was the hair drying and she really took her time on that, I was impressed but maybe because that was the best part She put heat protectant in it before drying and I liked that. And then she put a nice oil on my ends but I wish she would have spent more time... i say this because the whole thing was $50. The desk could have been more professional.... maybe will try again in future. Maybe not. Other nice things I noticed was that it had a nail salon further inside and that was pretty neat. I used to love coming here for my one specific stylist, but I won't be returning. After finally finding a break in my schedule to come in for a cut, I walked in for my appointment today to find out my stylist had an emergency causing him to leave abruptly and he wasn't there. I understand that things come up; that's life. What I'm annoyed about is the poor customer service and apathetic "apology" I received from the girls working the front desk. The girl who was there claimed "I just walked in but I see a note that [stylist] left with an emergency. Did nobody contact you?" I checked my phone and saw no missed calls or voicemails. She called her colleague who was working in the afternoon to let her know a client for the stylist who left just walked in, and asked if she made a call to notify me my appointment was canceled. It was a quick 10 second call where the colleague clearly just said "no" and that was that. The girl in front of me, very apathetically, said "Yeah, sorry, she didn't call. I can reschedule you if you want." ... That's it? I drive from over 30 minutes away to see my stylist and it was hard enough for me to schedule this appointment. I simply said "no" and walked out. The total "oh well" attitude from the girls working the front desk was frankly kind of insulting. She did offer to schedule me with someone else who was working right then, but after a few bad experiences I'm hesitant to go to a new stylist on a whim. So yesterday was my first visit to Tricho at Somerset collectionZ I'm here in Troy for few days, and needed a haircut. After yelping few hair dressers in the area, I settled on this shop based on the good reviews and decided to give it a shot. Getting an appointment was super easy, I called them and they accept walk-ins, told me to come in within half hour, which I did.. After showing up and checking in at the door, my assigned hair dresser 'Serena' came and got me within a couple of minutes. They were not busy, only had some clients. Serena took me to her station, sat me down, we chatted for a bit about my hair-style, then started to work on my hair. Serena is a professional young lady, who certainly service her customers well, down to earth and does her job quick, while keeping you busy and chatting all the time. The cut itself wasn't the best I had, I noticed few uneven spots when I got home, plus the style and length isn't quite what I had asked for. Charge is $35 plus tips, which is probably typical for a mall shop in here, similar to what it is in Toronto. Everything scored full, except for the actual quality of the cut, unfortunately fell quite short there. read more

I started going to Tricho back in March, when I was living in Austin, Tx and needed somewhere to go when I visited the Detroit area. I went to Eric and he was awesome. He had ideas about my hair, which was basically dead with all of the color abuse I did. (Last time he saw me my hair was pink) In June I moved back to Michigan, but unfortunately due to Eric's hours, I was unable to make him my permanent hair stylist. He recommended Kelsey...and she gave me the cutest style...cut off a bunch of hair to make it healthy again (and allows me to wear it curly) I did dye it purple....but I now have to stop with that due to the conservative nature of my profession. I recently chopped off 7 inches of my hair into a blunt bob at a salon in Royal Oak and they did a good job. However, I spontaneously went to Tricho at Somerset to get my blunt bob transformed into an A line NOT a stacked bob(think Victoria Bekham circa 2007). I went to Erika and she dry cut my hair to keep the length(which I wanted). I specifically told her not to put in any layers and I ended up leaving with a choppy mess that hardly resembles an A line. The left side is okay(with the layers blended) but on the right side, I have a few thin wispy layers and a prominent thick layer of ear lobe length level layers. The difference is visible and it looks horrible. I would give this place negative stars if it weren't for the fact that after I called the salon for my money back for the terrible haircut, they offered to 'fix' it. Although not much could be done to salvage my hair, the creative director was very nice and she tried her best to blend the layers. She was very nice and apologetic. After moving to Michigan last year, I have gotten my hair cut/done at a number of places. Every one I have been sadly disappointed. Who knew I would find such a delightful place in a mall!? I have very fine hair so it is so hard to find someone who can cut it and it look lifelike and fuller than it is. I am SO happy after my recent spontaneous cut right before leaving for Thanksgiving. I called after I got off of work one day to see if there was any availability and there was, so I hopped over to the mall. I didn't have to wait at all and I explained my hair woes of late. I wanted to lighten my hair. I got the streakiest orange highlights ever. When my stylist finished and I asked if we could try and fix this, she got angry with me. She told other stylists in the salon that I stormed out in the middle of the process, which I had not. The manager told me I could get my hair fixed by another stylist, so I paid $170 to try and have this mess fixed and it did not work. I wasted 8 hours and $170 at this salon to fry my hair, make me look like a zebra, and be insulted by the manager. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

I was offered water and green tea and my stylist, Selena was very bubbly, friendly and a courteous listener. I wasn't so clear in what I wanted but she delivered. My mother and I went in today to get mom's hair colored. We brought in pictures and told the hair dresser, Amanda exactly what we wanted. We also agreed to pay her $105 for the highlights and base color which would be brown with highlights of burgundy. Then Amanda made an offer for $85 for the brown color with a hint of red on top. I asked her what would it look like on my mother's hair? My mom has natural black hair and she said her hair would look like a brunette with a tint of red on top. We were pleased and agreed to the offer. The hair didn't turn out to be what she said it would. I asked her, was the dye brown? My mother's hair still looks black, there is no sign of brown. Amanda literally flipped and said, "you can leave, I'll take a pay cut. I knew you would do this!" I asked her, "what do you mean? Mom's hair was supposed to be brown not black". Amanda said," I'm not doing anything else, you can leave. I knew you would do this." My mother's hair was soaking wet and she didn't even want to dry it. My mom told her, it was okay just blow dry it please. She didn't want to do it, but after asking her a couple times, she did. She was very rude the way she handled it. She also said, " I did it the way we discussed." I said," well she definitely doesn't look like a brunette, now you tell me." She literally told us to leave. THIS IS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT WASNT LIKE We didn't pay her, we did pay her in full. We also agreed to pay her $105. Look at the pictures and you guys judge the difference.
