There is real EVIL in this world DO NOT DO BUSINESS with TRICKEYS if possible FACTS: Minor accident had by car owners college daughter in Roxana Owner, lives over 250+ miles away from Wood River IL Roxana Police Chief called Trickeys for tow from accident scene Owner of Trickeys is volunteer fire fighter for town of Roxana Car towed 5 miles by Trickeys to there lot in Wood River IL Charged 258 dollars for 5 mile tow State Farm insurance called Trickeys to say car would be retrieved by State Farm appointed tow company to be taken to autobody shop, Trickeys would not release with out approval from owner. Owner with State Farm on phone line called Trickeys to OK release. Trickeys insisted owner present in person proof of ownership of vehicle. It was explained by owner that they lived 250+ miles away and suggested that owner fax to Trickeys any information needed. Trickeys co-owner, female front office staff said it was not possible. Finally agreed to send paperwork and would require notarized proof of insurance and ownership of vehicle. (Never received email that would contain release forms from Trickeys Sensing shenanigans with co-owner of Trickeys, 3 1/2 car ride made to Trickeys establishment. Upon arrival insurance card from Sate Farm and drivers license and owner presented to Trickeys female co-owner, Jean Kainz. Then Jean required proof of full coverage and certificate of insurance. (one more hoop to jump that was not mentioned in any other conversation) Temper lost, banged hands on counter and asked "why in gods name was everything being done to make my experience with this business as miserable as possible?" Suggested that State Farm would not be sending a tow for a car they didn't insure Suggested that my insurance card was proof of insurance or that Trickeys was welcome to contact State Farm direct. (Remember that State Farm made initial out reach to Trickeys for release.) Ms. Kainz insisted she would not be able to get that information from State Farm (total stall to keep car on lot and collect further storage fees). In end, Wood River Police called by us to mediate situation and allow State Farm to fax "Certificate of Insurance" So much time wasted that Trickeys was able to stall arrival of secondary tow on a Friday thus keeping car till Monday and collecting 4 days of storage fees. Most miserable uncooperative human being is Ms Kainz . Soul purpose of behavior was to collect as much money as possible from Insurance company thus costing all of us in premiums. 1 star 07/01/2022 SCAM. Husband and wife owned and front office staffed by wife. She is the office contact that will be ruder and more ignorant than anyone in a business you have ever encountered, my opinion. She will insult you repeatedly asking things like "have you ever had a job?"and will exasperate your every attempt to find a reasonable solution to the fact you live 3. 1/2 hours away and can not appear in person to "prove" who you say you are. She will speak to you in my opinion, as ignorantly as possible and make your life miserable when you try to get your car released to the insurance company for repair. This car was picked up by Trickeys from the scene of a minor accident. Police Chief from the Roxana P.D., Called for a tow to Trickeys after the Roxana Fire Departure arrived on the scene and told my daughter, the driver, the car was not drivable. (Waiting to hear from body shop if they agree). Important: Ower of TRICKEYS IS a volunteer fire fighter with Roxana Fire. In my opinion, there is a conflict of interest between Roxana P.D. And F.D and TRICKEYS. If you have had the misfortune of dealing with this business you too may be pushed emotionally to the point of yelling and using language that doesn't normally come out of your mouth. After DRIVING 250+ miles, and having to call Wood River Police to mediate with this outrageously rude and in my opinion incredibly evil woman, this matter was resolved. Advice; Go to TRICKEYS in person. Be prepared to loose your temper. You will need to sign a release, you will need ID, and a certificate of proof of full coverage from your insurance company. I don't know what else you might get ask for, but this is about money and collecting outrageous fees ($258) for a tow that was under 10 miles and keeping a car as long as they can to collect lot fees. Be warned the hrs open are M-F, till 4:30. Will tow 24 /7 but NOT open on Saturday or Sunday. FYI insurance paid all fees but we consumers pay in end. read more

Zero stars. Towed my son's car 1 mile at 3:30am. I picked it up at 3pm the same day and was charged $483. Somehow 11.5 hours equals 2 days of storage fees. When I questioned all the costs, I was told by the lady behind the counter "Well, that's our posted fees and sometimes our kids need to learn lessons the hard way." 1. You have no idea what the reason was for the tow 2. I don't need parenting advise after I was just robbed in broad daylight When we went to get the car, the tire was flat. I guess they forgot to mention that to me when I called and asked what I needed to have ready to get the car released. I was told if I couldn't get AAA to tow it off the lot by 4:30pm, I would owe another $100 for the weekend. Well done Trickey's....well done. read more

Trickeys works with local police ripping off their customer base, which does not exist. This way they don't have to worry about losing any business, which allows them to act the way they do. The wrecker cracked my oil pan, the day after the tow all of my oil was in my driveway. My local mechanic told me he would be willing to call and tell them what they did, but what good would that do... My word against theirs. Horribly disgusting monster that, unfortunately will never go out of business because the fact they work with all the crooked police around town. Five stars for robbery. I was driving from St. Louis to my cousin's wedding in Bethalto and had a flat tire on the way. I'm disabled and can't change a tire so looked up road side service in the area. I chose Trickey's.
