This food is so gross and even looks super unappetizing. Lots of ground meat on the keto plan. It is basically vacuum sealed dog food with vegetables. You can't pick your own meals, just a plan. I only went with them because I could exclude shellfish and tree nuts due to allergies. Huge regret! I received my first order on Friday evening. We tried a couple of meals and tossed them and tried 2 others (4 different ones in total). All of them were disgusting. I tried to cancel my order but couldn't do it through the platform. I ended up sending an email on Saturday. I was told that I am still responsible for this week's order even though I didn't even receive the food until after the Friday cancellation cutoff. In all of my back and forth with customer service, they have been unwilling to work with me on this. I'll end up paying hundreds of dollars for 28 packaged meals I will never eat. read more

If you're looking to lose weight, this may be a good solution for you. But, if you're like me and you need 2,500 to 3,000 calories per day, you will probably only get 1,200 - 1,500 from your meal plan with Trifecta (for $400/week, $1,600 per month - for three meals per day). I subscribed to the paleo plan in early December. The day that I was supposed to receive my first shipment, they emailed me and said that it wasn't coming due to supply issues. That was a huge bummer because I had already skipped my normal meal prep day, thinking that I would have these instead. So, I spent that week eating out at restaurants and whatnot instead, which ended up being fairly expensive. On the bright side, as should be expected, Trifecta refunded the charge on my credit card. My following shipment came as expected; however, I quickly learned that each meal is only 300 - 500 calories. So, in addition to having spent $400 for the week on Trifecta, I had to go out and eat 1-2 additional meals to hit my calorie goal. Which, for obvious reasons, ended up being much more expensive than I originally anticipated. To Trifecta's credit here, I certainly could have done more diligence and looked through their menu online before ordering... but I guess I made the silly assumption that a meal plan would (at least) consist of a 2,000-calorie/day diet. The food itself was fine - good for being pre-made/meal prepped, but nothing to write home about. I was also bummed because just 3 days after having received my first shipment, I tried to cancel my subscription, but they had already billed me for the next week and refused to cancel that order and give me a refund, stating that they were already in the process of cooking/shipping my meals. This was particularly disappointing seeing as how when I tried to order from Trifecta the first time, they couldn't even tell me that I wouldn't receive my order until the day that it was supposed to arrive - yet, they ask that you give them a full week's notice if you intend to cancel your subscription. THREE WEEKS IN A ROW we have been charged but the meals haven't arrived. THREE weeks. We were refunded when we reached out to customer service, but NO ONE emails to say they aren't coming. Instead, we just received generic cheerful emails saying they are "a bit late". 5 days isn't a bit late. A week isn't a bit late. Trifecta is a solid meal prep company that makes it crazy easy to eat according to macros. I am a coach and my time is limited, so having something easy to heat up was super helpful. I am vegan, so I only tried the vegan options, and for the most part they were winners. A little too many Beyond Meat products for my taste (would have liked to see more seitan and/or tempeh), but I understand those are a little more challenging to make profitable (I am a business owner myself). I wish I would've checked Yelp before ordering. I've only had 3 meals so far. To be fair, the taste is decent to me. However, each meal looks nothing like what is advertised. And I get it. Nothing will look as good as a professional photo. But the meats have been ground and it's more like a sauce consistency than a plate of protein and veggies (Whole30 plan). Tonight, the meal I had listed the protein as 28g, but as a regular macro counter (food weigher), I'm hard pressed to believe this finely ground beef was enough ounces to be over 20g of protein. Deceptive marketing and sales tactic. First time order made on Tuesday and it said Friday delivery. As it was a holiday weekend, could not cancel the subscription that they force you to use until Tuesday. So they are forcing me to eat this crappy food for another week. Even if I tried the food on Sat and tried to cancel the order, I am obligated to pay for another week as cancelation was the same day that I received my food. I have tried over 10 different food prep companies and this was the only that was very deceptive. In addition when I informed them that their food gave me an upset stomach THEY DIDNT CARE. I guess as diet food goes, i would rather starve than eat this crap again, so yahhh, I am way below my calories for the week since all I can take of their food is a bite. Bad food. Food is meh, nothing exciting. Pricing is outrageously expensive. The worse part is you cannot get ahold of anyone at anytime to cancel your membership. I have called/emailed and attempted to use their ridiculous chat feature to cancel and no one ever answers or replies. Food is okay, the amount of packaging and ice packs in extremely excessive. Simply not environmentally sustainable no matter how they want to spin it. Sure the ice pack contents are compostable, but the wrappers are still plastic. Even if they are 'recyclable', they will not be recycled even if you put them in the bin. Over 90% of plastics intended to be recycled are not, and these will certainly fall into that category. Single use plastics need to be drastically reduced, and pretending that these will be recycled is not helping and encourages the use of single use plastic. We recently received a box of 15 meals and it weighed over 35 lbs. I think the package had 4X the amount of ice packs required to keep the contents cold. Why use so many ice packs? I just weighed the ice packs, and they totaled 22 lbs. For a 35 lb box! And the shipping label says the shipping weight is 17 pounds! I don't even want to get into why the shipping weight on the box is less than half of the actual weight, but seems sketchy to me! Not to mention the styrofoam insulation for the box. The only way this service can be made sustainable is to use local pick up points. Shipping 35 pound boxes will not cut it. The food is okay, just okay. Not bad, not great. Not much in the way of flavor. The meals do come vacuum packed and are fresh and easy to heat up, but nothing stellar. Overall not a product or service I'm happy with and trying to encourage my partner to drop it. She was excited to try and it's convenient for her, but she's losing sleep over how environmentally unfriendly the service is. I think she's finally ready to give it up :) Response to feedback from company: Thanks for the feedback, however I don't think you addressed my concerns. The plastic ice pack packaging may be quote-unquote recyclable but they will not be recycled. Even if I put them in the blue bin they will end up in the landfill, that is a fact. Is there a way to get boxes shipped with much less ice, about 25% of what you're currently using? There were so many ice packs in the box that they are still partially frozen and the box is cold over 3 days later. Regarding the styrofoam, the company should not have launched until another solution was settled upon. It's shameful to use styrofoam in this day and age. If your company has to use styrofoam to be profitable, it's an unsustainable company. read more

ORIGINAL : 1st order arrived 6 days late; at least it got here 1 day after shipping and food was cold and ice intact. 2nd order arrived 5 days late and ice was completely melted and food was NOT cold. I tracked the shipping to find out if left their warehouse on Friday morning and got delivered to me Tuesday late afternoon. Lunch and dinners were pretty tasty and filled me up, definitely quality ingredients. Breakfasts were GROSS The eggs tore up my stomach and a one week supply consisted of 4 of one kind (eggs and potatoes) and 3 of the same with added sausage (who eats the same thing every morning- eggs and potatoes) especially for these prices???? I actually am going to change my review based on the poor customer service I received when I was ending my membership. One, they charged me on a holiday (Saturday) and claimed it was past a "cut off date" and they "couldn't" stop my and did not even give me my refund. One, you don't charge people on a holiday, after the "cut off date" and make up nonsense so that you don't have to give them their refund. This is unacceptable and I got a careless customer representative on the phone and she was so inconsiderate. They can't even be honest with you. You don't do that to customers. All other companies give you your refund immediately, cancel your membership, and will actually try to keep you on and actually thank you for your business. That's standard practice. They do have good food and helpful nutrition articles but they really need to improve their customer service and their business practices. Customer service should be #1 as well as the overall quality of your product and business model and values but since they had poor customer service, I will not be using Trifecta again. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I have been trying various meal prep services over the last few weeks and most have been pretty disappointing. I ordered the "clean" plan which isn't as calorie restricted as the others. The meals were actually very filling and well portioned. Most of the time you see this awesome picture, then when it arrives you can tell the portions are much smaller. I don't like the bait and switch, and I don't feel I got that from Trifecta. Only downside is that I didn't get to pick what I wanted (or maybe I just didn't see where to do that on the site.). Didn't really matter as I could tell each meal was what I was looking for in calories and macros. What made this service better than most is that you get a free call with a nutritionist. Juan Gonzales was very helpful and gave me some extra resources to research which is always appreciated! I'm going to be using this service again for sure! read more

I'm adding two stars to my review because after I posted my long series of issues trifecta reached out and tried to make things right with me, which I find is important in a brand. Overall, there were service issues but that may have been because I was on a vegan plan when apparently trifecta is best for their keto plan. Your policy of not providing refunds unless you "clarify" over the phone and multiple emails are required when you guys have made MULTIPLE MISTAKES, is utter BS. Transparent companies are willing to put it in writing. Having to call by phone to cancel over the phone is BS, period. It's not 1995, millenials hate phones - you should be able to cancel on your website, like your competitors do. ________________________________________________ Lets see....where to start: 1. I ordered Keto exclusively and got TWO incorrect weeks....   A Paleo week and a "clean week" which has meals that have a whopping 46 grams of carbs. I got a meal with no label on it at all I GAINED 2 lbs while eating these meals.... I got two shipments in one week so I ended up with more food than I can eat I feel they are blatantly LYING about their calorie counts, because you don't get meals under 500 calories when they weigh well over 1 lb per meal. I've lost weight on diets before that aren't low carb, but the fact that I've GAINED weight on these meals tells me that they're blatantly lying about the calorie content, and not weighing the portions of meat at all. After a phone call and MULTIPLE emails saying they need to refund my money - they've only refunded 150 bucks out of the over 400 bucks of food I purchased. Do not trust this company - they have a lot of work to do. To top all this off - online my previous shipments show NO RECORD of the meals I previously ordered, so there's literally no way to verify their huge mistakes. To cancel, you also can't cancel online or by email, you have to call by phone, and someone will call you at an ungodly hour and try to upsell you and keep you on the phone as long as possible to ask why you cancel. Seriously guys, I wanted to believe in you, and gave you ample chance, but you can do better. Note: I've odered meal delivery from multiple companies - Thistle, Eat the 80, Territory. Was initially really excited to try Trifecta because of the reviews. Ordered delivery to FL. They only deliver on Fridays. They proceeded to get my order wrong, delivered meals I specifically said not to include due to dietary restrictions. The remaining food tasted good--right up to the point I got food poisoning for--the entire weekend. When trying to message them over the weekend, I received no response. When I finally was able to get response on Monday, they apologized and offered a refund for the few meals they messed up. They otherwise had no response to my food poisoning. The food poisoning is one thing, but the lack of customer service was the main issue. I do not recommend Trifecta, as there are plenty of alternative options on the market. read more

Not a fan of Trifecta and after three orders (one unwanted), I have canceled my plan. Food: A Trifecta meal is what Nutraloaf is to prison inmates. You don't have a choice, and while it does meet all your daily nutritional requirements, one could argue that it violates the Eighth Amendment as a cruel and unusual punishment. I ordered the keto plan and the meals are so boring, the portions are small, and they only vaguely taste like what they say they are. The Mexican bowl and the beef stroganoff, for example, are the same ground beef served with mushrooms and other veggies, with no difference in flavor. The fish, aside from the salmon, was dry and flavorless. If you love mushy olives, mushrooms, and tomatoes served in every meal next to your bland protein, Trifecta is for you. Ordering: Unlike other meal services, Trifecta does NOT notify you when it's preparing your next order, only when the meals have already shipped. So after I skipped several weeks, I was shocked to see an email that my food was on it's way and $108 had been charged to my credit card. Unfortunately, now it's too late to do anything about it... but that's what they wanted. Subscription: Any company that makes you call to cancel is shit. Plain and simple. Calling people is the worst. You should be able to cancel your subscription the same way you signed up for it - ONLINE. But nope, try looking online and you'll find nothing. The online chat box is useless - no one ever comes on to help you, and it's just overall a hassle to cancel. I called and got my subscription canceled after being offered a discount on my next order if I reconsidered. I didn't. (See: Food). Cost: $15 per meal?? For paltry portions of under-seasoned, under-loved food? This is probably the most expensive meal delivery service by far and they have no right to be. Until they changed. I don't mind that they made errors in my last two orders because I realize they are restructuring and they quickly gave me a refund. What I mind is that they have added ingredients that are NOT healthy and give me terrible stomach problems. (I will spare you the details.) So, I can't eat their food anymore. They once appealed to health and fitness-conscious consumers. Now they appeal to a wider audience of people who just want food they don't have to prepare. I am SO disappointed and frustrated. We love Trifecta! We live near the Seattle area and get weekly deliveries. We have been using them for months now and have nothing but awesome things to say about trifecta. As an avid macro counter mg family and I were in a terrible meal planning rut. Same thing day in day out and it was causing a lot of food jags. we get the paleo meals for weekday lunches and it so fun to get new meals weekly. We've also been doing the protein aka carts for quick weekday meals. I hate hate cooking fish and their salmon is amazing. There have been a few delivery delays or wrong orders. Even a funky meal, all was quickly refunded. No problems, their customer service is always super fast and nice. Shout out to Emily and Devon. So far this hasn't rocked our budget much since if you add up grassfed meat and sides the meals are not much more than home cooked. Try it out, I wish I had found them sooner read more

I've tried Trifecta for about a month now and I would say it's pretty good. The food is delivered on time and packaged nicely, and the options are pretty tasty overall. Pros: Awesome customer service - you can message or call someone and get to a live person right away. Good food options, tasty and fresh and good portions. Cons: Pretty expensive, but you have to factor in the delivery and food costs. Some of the food options are a bit more on the salty side. I would recommend it if you're trying to be more healthy, or just want easy options on the go for a busy life style. read more

This is the first time I have ordered food from Trifecta. I was very skeptical because of where I live. I live in Cold Bay Alaska, located on the Aleutian chain. I didn't think the food would arrive on time and in good condition. I have ordered food from Anchorage stores before only to be disappointed beyond belief, so hence my hesitation to invest in this venture. To my surprise, I received my food timely and in excellent condition. The packaging was intact, cold packs and insulation adequate for successful food delivery. I am livid. I should have read the reviews for this company prior. My first box was delivered to the wrong building and I immediately canceled because I wasn't going to go through this again. It had happened with another delivery service. I thought the food was still ok and I ate the walnut pesto salmon. I got sick that night and had to throw out the entire box. Every meal had roasted cauliflower- even the breakfasts. Don't get me wrong. I don't dislike cauliflower, but I had no choice. As well I'm not a fan of shellfish. Fast forward to two weeks later. I canceled my subscription the night after receiving my first box. It shows on my billing canceled is highlighted and they charged my account again. Notice how cancellation is highlighted? I have to own that I didn't screengrab the cancellation number. The real kicker - my first 3 weeks of meals were supposed to be discounted. I had postponed the next two weeks to see if the bad reviews were honest. M Save your money and save your GI system. I hate being that nagging complainer. But this really sucked.
