I have to join others in saying the food is, on whole (I had a couple that were decent), not good. Each meal tastes like the last one. Sweet potato in 90%+ every meal plus a protein and a grain. I got very excited when one of my meals had three pieces of broccoli because it was something different. In addition there are repeats in a 14 serving order. Surely they can come up with some flavorful, differentiated meals The meals are vacuum sealed which I appreciate. That does ensure safety and freshness but it also smashes everything together. So each meal is essentially one mashed up mess. Very unappealing on every level! I've cancelled after one week but not before the next week's order was fulfilled. I dreaded getting them. I have to push through to eat them because I don't want to throw away $300 but I may end up throwing a good portion away. On the good side - the ingredients are clean and healthy and I have lost weight. So if you want to lose weight and can push through eating the food you're good. I see they are reading these posts. I truly hope they take the criticism to heart. They can do better to keep the ingredients separated and to make sure each meal doesn't taste exactly like the last one just with a different protein. I wanted to have my order come bi-weekly rather than weekly, and I forwarded my order confirmation to the customer service email address with this request. I gave Trifecta a thorough try by enrolling in the clean meal plan for a few weeks. I was appalled at the quality of food that you get for the very expensive price. I can't tell you how many times I got the same variations of meals with potatoes randomly mixed in. I don't understand the obsession with potatoes but they were always mushy and gross. The chicken was also always dry and disgusting. I could never recommend this service. Save your money and time. This is essentially healthy cafeteria food that charges gourmet prices per meal. You will not look forward to eating these meals. Oh also, they are super shady (as noted in other reviews). It's easy to sign up but a hassle to cancel, their online chat is useless on the website. If you can sign up online why can't you cancel online? I placed 1 order with Trifecta and then paused my future orders until I could try the food. Some of the food was edible, some was not and went into the garbage. I spoke to a rep in chat and told her I did not want future orders until I tried the food and that it was very expensive, the rep offered to give me 1 additional meal and when my order arrived, I never got the additional meal and I was charged again on 4.29.2023. I called Customer Service to cancel and refund my money as it was still processing from just 2 days ago in the account and was told no refund you must cancel 7 days prior to. So they have taken my money even though I stated I did not want any further renewals. I would never order from this company again as they just take your money. So I ordered Keto meals. Twice a day 7 days a week I pay a pretty penny so I expect to get my meals right? Wrong. My meals Never showed up on its delivery day. No one emailed me and no one called me. I couldn't get a hold of anyone from customer service either. Finally after several emails- I get a response. Well according to them my meals were delayed to the the fires. However, the food prep is done in Anaheim (close to my address). Plus another representative told me they lost my package of meals! So then they tell me my meals will arrive during the weekend- Never happened. Then I was told I would receive tracking by Monday and receive shipment Tuesday. So I stayed home All day and guess what?- Nothing arrived! Late afternoon Tuesday they tell me yet again another delay. Yet again another fail. Finally my meals arrive Wednesday late afternoon. This company is unreliable. If you opt out of emails apparently you don't get to find out your tracking number either. They made nothing but excuses when they called Finally on Tuesday. They Said I opted out of emails, so I would Not have got an email letting me know that my entire 7 day delivery was delay... you'd think in this situation they would reach out-NOPE. Please take in mind I work at a hospital long hours, and I was relying on these meals to help me get through the week. I took one of my meals from my previous order for lunch and the beef tasted sour. The expiration date was not passed due... So I went without a lunch that day. Also for this delivery company you cannot exclude more than 2 items, and if you have an allergy it's also included as part of your exclusion. So mine was game meat and shell fish. So even though I told them the cod fish did not taste good,,,,well they went ahead and gave me 4 meals consisting entirely of cod fish. Back when Trifecta started a few years ago, they had a 21 day challenge: eat Trifecta for three meals a day for three weeks. I decided to give it a try with the Clean meals. It was rough starting because I was pretty unhealthy (think fried, sugary, and processed), and Trifecta is none of these. But after the initial shock, I was really pleased. Unexpected wins: felt great physically (lost 7 pounds!), no afternoon slump, increased confidence, and no guilt over my eating habits. I now switch between the Classic and Clean meals. Three weeks ago, I was eating one of my meals, the chicken and bell pepper dish, and I found a produce sticker in my food. This sticker was for a Werita Bell Peppers, a product of Mexico. I started researching Werita, which anyone reading this review can do online as well, and as it turns out they don't produce organic vegetables. I was socked. Trifecta advertises that they only use organic vegetables, and this an obvious breach of trust and a lie. So I decided to reach out to Trifecta for an explanation. It took two weeks and multiple attempts to get an answer. They basically came back and said that I'm lying and that sticker didn't come from them. I tried Trifecta for a few months and food was good, came vacuum wrapped in plastic containers. A few weeks ago they changed their menu, no longer vacuum pack and changed to flimsy cardboard containers. The food is now horrible, leaks thru the paper containers, stunk up my refrigerator and was not edible. They have very poor customer service and never respond to billing disputes. I specifically asked to omit one ingredient which they completely ignored. They're cancelation process is difficult. There are several reasons for my one star. 1. Shipping took 5 days. So the cutoff for pausing or canceling service after trying is past before you get to try the food. I'm leaving it at one star, because I still have a conflict with their business practices, and my experience still stands. I think everyone should still know of the way they conduct themselves, and what you are in for as a customer. However, only after leaving a review did their manager reach out, both by phone and email, asking for my "feedback" - even though I had already provided all of that to the agent that called me to discuss my issues on the phone, and to tell me there was nothing she could do. I told their manager than there needs to be more empowerment provided to their agents, as it should never have reached this point, and that they need to seriously overhaul the way they communicate (or her word "miscommunicate") with their customers. There should not be a procedural flaw that makes it so that a customer does not receive crucial updates. And why should that fall on the customer, if so? Anyway. We did reach a resolution, and she seemed willing to listen, although, I still won't order from them in the future. I really, really, really wanted to like Trifecta. I even wrote a positive four star review after having the first meal. I erased that and am writing this. I'm canceling the program after the first week of meals, and throwing out what I have not eaten. As others noted, you have to pay for the meals one week in advance, so if you don't like the service, you're already prepaid for the next week. The first meal was good -- lime cilantro shrimp. Then I wrote a positive review. It was all downhill from there. I had the salmon dinner resulting in severe stomach pains for two days. When that resolved, I tried another shrimp dinner and was up half of last night with gastrointestinal issues. I nuked these meals until they were piping hot so whatever was in them survived even that. I tried a few chicken dishes but whatever rice or starch was included is a dry clumpy mess even though the chicken piece itself was decent. The "beef enchilada" is just crumbled burger and greasy, on top of a soft (wet) flour taco. For the same or less, I can go to the supermarket and buy a week of frozen Amy's bowls or even get take out from many restaurants (which seemed expensive before but not compared to $15/meal for this). I got a call yesterday from a service rep who had read my four star yelp review and wanted to address some of my complaints. That seemed like a decent start. But he said he'd email me his contact info for any further issues and I got nothing. He added credit for the salmon debacle - good. I hadn't yet had the shrimp explosion so he didn't know about that. I have credit pending on my account because they sent me some wrong meals (2 paleos that were crumbled hamburger when I am on the clean plan), plus the salmon dinner that caused problems. Since I"m canceling, they are not going to refund that credit to me and on top of it I'm already paid on two full weeks of meals and only ate about 6 of the 14 in the first shipment. Expensive mistake. Trifecta is an awesome concept. From a scientific standpoint it must not be easy to prepare food in a way that it stays fresh and hydrated enough to be appetizing on reheating days later. Whether it's frozen or refrigerated. Also, Trifecta is sending recipes that are just plain gross like plain, underseasoned and greasy crumbled beef - why not just send a hamburger? It would be ok to send a bun separately and only have us heat part of the meal and assemble it after. Trifecta's issues show me why the "meal kit boxes" are more popular because those result in fresh cooked meals if you have time to do the work. I have IBS and dealt with leaky gut for over a year, I fixed it with very restrictive eating and eventually found trifecta. For someone as picky as me with food, THEY GET THE JOB DONE. I usually add more veggies to the Keto plan so one meal is two servings for me. Their customer service is also great. If I were to give feedback I would say I'd like more options to add allergies (for example tomatoes really hurt my stomach but they are not under their short allergy list).
