My husband and I lost our newer home in the 2018 Woolsey fires in Agoura Hills, Ca, and after checking with several builders, we hired Trig Builders, Yossi and Ezra to build us a large, new home with all the bells and whistles, during covid time. They both did a wonderful job from the beginning to the end. Ezra displayed great professionalism, always smiling and paying attention to the customer's wishes and needs. We hesitated until recently to write a review about our exasperating project with TRIG, because all's well that ends well, right? Well in the end it didn't end well, so we're sharing our experience. Trig's biggest issue is that they don't really have project managers; Trig builders are the money men. They get the contracts but don't do any of the actual work, and it created chaos. Everything was given to sub-contractors who were not accurately briefed on what we wanted. The sub-contractor and the "project managers" (in name only, because we had to do almost everything ourselves to ensure the project was actually DONE) were fighting all the time. The main crew that Trig hired (a guy named Antonio was in charge, but hardly came by and was very pre-occupied with personal issues and other projects) and the project manager (Kobe, who was a spectacular liar in the end) apparently were fighting about all the different homes they were working on (over money, per Antonio) and Antonio's crew quit halfway through. It was mix-matched people who came for months trying to finish our project. Trig is family run, and the owner's kids and nephews they sent had no idea what they were doing. They just want their checks to clear and the customer to sign a release of satisfactory work (The man they sent whom we had never met would not leave unless we signed that we were pleased with their service. It was quite obscene, I was ready to physically push him out of my house .) It took almost a full year to finish the kitchen and bathrooms. Sadly, not three months after the kitchen was completed, two of the cabinets broke in the same spot on the same day. We called and emailed Eden who was the 2nd manager, and the office refused to send someone to fix it. Per our handyman whom we had to call, the screws they used on all the bottom shelves were way too short, and Trig said it'd be nine months before they would send anyone. This project was hardly worth all the stress they put us through. I'm sure they think they're exceptional, but they're as horrible as the rest; profit over quality. read more

What an absolutely terrible interaction. Isaac and his assistant came to my home terribly dressed and late. From there they spent so much time telling me my home was a tear down and unsafe and ugly... Actually the second comment from them after hello. The home is terrible but I only needed to hear it once not for the barely 20 min they spent. I'm fine if they don't like my home but don't talk down to someone if you don't have a solution; they didn't. They talked over my partner and I and did not ask us a single question about what we wanted in our new home. Verbally during our belittling initial conversation without finishes their quote was 710$ per square foot with almost no selling or speaking to what set them apart. When asked about next steps they told me they would get back to me and never did. Finally after not hearing from them for a week I reached out and they wanted a 12k deposit for drawing. This was as a response to when I should expect to hear from them. No email or proposal or scope of work they wanted to move right to drawings without another meeting or any idea what we wanted to build after a text. If my project did not interest them, honesty would have been the best policy. If this is the kind of communication you get from a contractor from the start, run don't walk in the other direction. It felt like I was dealing with the grossest used car dealership not purchasing a super high end product. I mentioned the business to two other contractors I have spoken to and they just laughed in an "oh those guys are ridiculous" way. Response: Is this not just the response of someone who would spend half an hour talking over a prospective client? No effort to work it out or take any responsibility... Clearly no one is in charge here. We wanted our building brought up to code or rebuilt by a professional company. We knew we were in trouble and reached out to Trig for help. No one asked anyone to do any work without a permit. Unfortunately, what we got was dismissal. What drawings or engineering were going to be created? We had not even had a conversation about what we wanted. Furthermore, responding, in the offensive, to my issues listed here without a phone call or personal follow up. This response, filled with spelling errors, vitriol, and run on sentences constitutes what one should likely expect from this company in resolving project issues; deflection and a lack of personal responsibility. Trig built my room addition in Los Angeles with permits and everything handled. It was amazing to see them work and predict problems before they happened to make sure I wasn't babysitting the job. We had Trig Builders take care of our roof in 2018. It was our understanding that it included a 10 year warranty (we have it in writing). There was a repair that needed to be done in January of 2021. It took a while but they finally sent someone out to repair it. Now, in December 2021, there is, again a roof leak. After many phone calls, I was told that they only offer a one year warranty. Apparently, they subcontract out the roofing portion of their business (maybe more parts too). I continued to call and they finally sent someone out to 'take a look' to 'help us out'. Then nothing. I called back to check what was going on and they said they are not going to use the guy they sent out but will try to find someone else. Then, I was told they weren't going to find anyone else. Basically, I'm just out of luck. Don't use these people - at least for your roofing needs. Find someone who is an actual roofer and can actually honor the warranty provided. Sub-par work, Sub-par customer service. Look elsewhere. read more

He is very good at communicating the job progress and expected times of completion. He is intense, in a good way. Joni shows up and works along side his team everyday. Then I met Roy the project manager, he came with samples and showed me some ideas with 3D design that helped us to decide. After 4 weeks we got are new bathroom. I called for a bid on a major remodel. 3 baths, kitchen, paint and flooring entire house, and more. They were very responsive and came over within a day or two. Their project manager spent more than an hour with us discussing our project and taking measurements. He stated we'd have the bid in a day or two. We never heard from him again! I left four messages across multiple phone numbers from his business card and also on his cell...I never got a return call. After a few days we had to get another bid and use another contractor. We never got the quote Trig Builder promised multiple times, for a new home insulation and new HVAC system, after spending nearly 2 months of e-mails, phone calls and texts. I contacted Trig Builders to get a quote for a new HVAC system and insulation on May 22nd 2020. Kobi came to our house 2 weeks later. During the initial visit, he mentioned that Trig Builders could perform most restoration or building projects in and around the house because it is a general contractor. He proposed to transform my garage into a second house so that I could rent it and make money. I replied that I wanted to keep my garage as a garage and contacted Trig Builder to get a quote for a new insulation (wall+attic) and new HVAC system. He said he would send an insulation guy and a different HVAC guy and would get a quote shortly after. He added that it would be practical for his company to work with us because it had a team working on a nearby house. This practical aspect faded quickly. He proposed 2 different times during the work day at times when I had work meetings and other times after the work day, when someone from the team working at the nearby house could come and assess our house. No one ever came after the work day. We never had a person specialized in insulation visiting our house. After playing phone tag for a while, I finally got the coordinate of the person specialized in AC at trig Builders, Eli. He came to our house and we asked for 2 quotes, one for a classical central AC and one for a ducted mini-split system. He said he would provide us with quotes shortly. I had read the reviews on Trig Builders and kept in mind that there were a lot of complaints about their tardiness. We called and set up an appointment for an estimate on a project we wanted done. They wanted to come out the next day, but we had told them we had an appointment that morning, so we made the appointment for 1:00 p.m. We actually rescheduled our morning appointment for another day because we were not sure we would be back in time. We received a call from Trig Builders around noon making sure we were home and said they would be here between 1-2 p.m. Well, at 2 p.m., no sign of Trig Builders, 3 p.m., no sign of them, 4 p.m. no sign of them. We called the office and the women said she would find out where they were and would call us back right away. Well, no one got back to us. We will never be doing business with them. First impressions are everything and Trig Builders first impression was extremely disappointing. So, for those of you who want to do business with them, please keep this in mind. Again, I am not the only one who left a review regarding their lack of timeliness. If they are late or not showing up for estimates, does this tardiness extend to their projects also? If you have ever asked yourself why a legitimate company would prefer to discuss things over the phone, send emails without a signature to indicate who exactly you are communicating with and has a complete blatant disregard for expediency, this would all be good questions to ask yourself as well as Trig Builders. We have spent over a year on blueprint plans that have yet to materialize. Meanwhile, interest rates increased and the cost of inflation skyrocketed along with building materials. All this for a simple ADU. We worked with Yaniv and I can honestly say that all the friendly chit-chat--despite our repeated frustrations--led us no closer to getting our blueprint plans moving forward. I had to repeatedly call the City Planning department and the third party they work with to get updates on my own--again repeatedly. To my chagrin, documents were not submitted for months at a time further delaying the blueprint process. As of today, we have yet to get a cost estimate for construction to move our loan forward despite promises by Yaniv. At the same time, the Fed is set to raise interest rates once again. We already had a quote for our kitchen remodeling project when we happened to see the work of Trig Builders at a friend's house and we decided to hire them for our house too. It was by far the best decision we did. Not only did they come over to see what's involved in the project... but to also improve our vision and ideas about what we can do for the same budget. The new ideas that they came up with was much better than what we wanted originally. The management and working experience that we went with them was perfect! Yossi and his team leader were always there for us for any answer and/or question and none of our requests was too small to accommodate. The whole project was to remodel the kitchen first... than all the bathrooms and last was the entry of the house. All of that was done in an expedient and professional way from the beginning to the end and the total price for all of that was exactly as Yossi said. My large renovation project journey started in March 2019. I really had almost given up any hope of this remodeling project due to bad luck and unprofessional of 4 other construction companies. The first one never showed up to the meeting after 2 scheduled appointments, the second one came over to the house and was very motivated and interested until we met again and when I asked some important questions... they were never able to provide a professional answer (which made me so worried about them), the 3rd one came up with such a terrible work plan that made me truly run away as fast as I could and the last one was again with no response back from. When I got the contact information of Trig Builders... I thought it will be something similar to the other ones... but I was totally wrong. Ezra came to the meeting on time and set with me for long time making sure he understood my goals and my budget while bringing many new ideas to the remodeling. A week after, he was able to come up with a plan of execution to the remodeling and together, we added, removed and modified some of the things that he wanted to include in the work. When we came up with the final price for the work, I decided to go forward and to start the work with him. The work went according to the plan while the office informed me daily and weekly about anything important in regards to the work and my meetings with Ezra were to see what has been done that day/week. My experience with trig was overall a 10/10 as you know construction is not comfortable but they went out of their way to make it the most comfortable it can be. I got my kitchen re done which was on my wish list for a long time. I was very hesitant about it but when trig came out the first time I knew they where the one. They are very detailed and meticulous when it comes down to the finished product. I had a detailed description and design of how the kitchen was going to be done. We had walk through sin the regular basis every time I had a question someone was there to answer. They followed through with their completion date which is something that's very hard to do with construction. Overall I'm super happy with the work and experience with them I can't wait to start my next project with them just need to save up a lil more lol.
