Sean was amazing!! As a massage therapist, I am very picky when I get body work. Sean is very intuitive and a gifted therapist!!

This place started out as a great experience but then went downhill after my massage. It was literally a series of unfortunate events........... The first thing I saw when I walked in was a bunch of items for sale...they were selling clothes, skincare, etc. My mom was with me and we were a little too early for our massage session, so we decided to look around. I really liked the things they were selling and the prices seemed reasonable. To the left is the receptionist, who welcomed and told us to go upstairs for our massage appointments. There's another receptionist upstairs who asked us if we've been to Trilogy Spa before. When we said no, she took us around the place and showed us the amenities they had. This lady offered us flip flops but all they had was a size large. She didn't even offer to check if they had more small/mediums...she pretty much just told us that it was all they had at the moment...so I had to walk around the spa the entire time with over-sized flip flops that I had to drag around. We were also told that we could use their hot tubs and also how the "rain shower" is very popular and is a must-try with their complimentary sugar scrub. Naturally, I couldn't wait to try them out! But first, we had our massage appointment. My massage was amazing. I don't remember who the therapist was but she was very accommodating, asked me what areas of my body I wanted to focus on and what I wanted for her to avoid. I even fell asleep towards the end of my massage because it was so relaxing! I woke up feeling refreshed and re-energized. After the massage, I wanted to sit outside where all the patio lounge chairs/ beds are...but it was all occupied and one of the beds was reserved, so we didn't even get to enjoy the outdoors at all. Anyway, I told my mom that maybe we could just use the bathroom amenities instead. The bath tub that I was looking forward to was a huge disappointment. First of all, the water temperature of my tub was not working...I started it out as hot water thinking that halfway through, I will mix some cold water in...only to find out that there was no cold water! It was too hot for me to get in!!! So I informed one of the staff and she was nice enough to manually get some cold water by filling pitchers and pouring it onto my tub. That was impressive customer service, but I think that if the water temperatures are not working, they should just put a sign there or something. Anyway, I worked with what I had and eventually after all the manual labor of the staff, the water temperature was finally right for me to get in...but the tub was too short! I'm 5'8" and I believe that's a pretty standard height for a female here in America, but I guess not with this tub...??? I was not able to stretch out my full body and I felt cramped the entire time. In addition, the ceiling light on my mom's tub space was not working, so she couldn't even read or look at magazines because it was dark. As if that wasn't enough, all these women around us were so loud!!! I wish there were signs that asked people to keep quiet or lower your voice since it was supposed to be a spa. After the tub, I wanted to use the so called "rain shower" with their popular sugar scrub. The scrub was amazing, it was rich and very moisturizing. The shower on the other hand...........was not exactly a rain shower. It was worse than a regular shower head! The water flow was nothing like rain...more like few droplets of water from an exhausted water pipe. It was so bad, I wish I just used their regular showers... There was also a woman who was very rude to my mom. When my mom used one of the toilets, she flushed it before using because that makes her feel comfortable and she's a bit of a clean freak. But one of the women in the locker room said out loud, "Why does she need to flush it before use?". This obviously has nothing to do with Trilogy Spa because that woman is out of their control...but I would not want to go back to a place where we are being discriminated. In the end, the same lady who manually poured the cold water for me gave us free sugar scrubs because of the lack of accommodations they promised they had. She was nice and I could tell that she was trying her best to make my mom and I feel better. But there was another staff beside her who was making faces and I definitely did not appreciate that. I'm an easy going person and I would've been okay with the free sugar scrubs, but because of this making-faces-staff, it made me ask for an additional discount. I really dislike that girl, she had such a negative energy around her and she does not fit the role of being in the front desk at all. I wish I got her name. I wouldn't go back because I felt like my mom and I were ripped off! I would give zero stars but the lady who helped me out with the cold water and gave us free sugar scrubs was really nice. She's the only reason I'm giving this place any stars at all. Too bad I don't know her name. read more

I was surprised to love this place! Every detail is attended to. Everything smells subtlety of gardenia. I got a deep tissue massage with Teresa and it pretty much changed my life. They have a really beautiful sun deck for relaxing and fresh fruit and tea. The locker room has a sauna rain shower and bath tubs. They seemed bored, never smiled, and did not offer any advice. I had to ask for the list of services. I walked out without booking anything because they don't deserve it! She's a brilliant, esthetician who knows about the most innovative and best products. She is meticulous and a must see before any important event. 3 stars because the massage was good, and the service was friendly, but they're really lacking in the amenities they don't really offer any at all there is no steam room, no hot tub, or pool, yes they have a nice rooftop cabana but that's it's. and in the men's shower room they don't stock anything other then supper generic foam shave cream and some funky superglue gel, for the cost of a service here you would think they would have some top shelf products but they don't. read more

I just came back home after a facial with Kasia and haven't looked this good in a while! Daily walks on a beach, sunscreens, and other facial products are drying my already sensitive skin, making it look dull and aged. Right after she saw my skin under the magnifying glass she made recommendations that I wholeheartedly trusted, and allowed the expert to take care of me. I'm glad that I did because now my face looks 10 years younger than it looked before the session with her. She's really that good (no exaggeration)! Kasia is very knowledgeable, experienced, and so gentle and nice that along with the soothing music there, it's easy to drop into a relaxing trance or nap. I already booked another session with her for before the holidays so I can look exceptionally good entering a new year. Even now, my husband wants one too! Ana is simply the best. I have gone to many therapists there over the last few years, including Sean (he is quite rough and talks SO much), and Ana can't be beat. Her long strokes are so fluid and relaxing. She can go deeper if you need/want as well. She's meticulous yet discrete. She is happy to chat but also understands the necessity for quiet, soothing peace. The "spa" itself could use some updating. There is no steam room, they frequently have plumbing/electrical problems (I've been there twice without hot water and once where power was lost). I know it's an old building, but kind of hard to pay a premium for your spa service without the amenities. Ana keeps me returning there, despite some building malfunctions. read more

Had a great pumpkin facial with Faith. Woke up with moisturized and even toned skin. Will definitively come back for this facial and others. They have a nice variety of facials. I didn't make time to enjoy the spa facilities but I will next time. They offer complimentary sugar scrubs that you can use in the soaking tubs or shower, a sun deck to relax. Parking is easy in the metered lot and they are next to Petros, my favorite Greek restaurant in the South Bay. They will deliver to the spa if you prefer to dine on the sun deck. Another perk is that they have hydrolic beds so if you are pregnant or have back issues you can be comfortable during your service. This spa is not huge like the Montage(which I also love for bigger parties) but if you want a nice intimate experience, this may be the spa for you and your spouse or a friend. read more

My 1st experience was 2 1/2 yrs ago. It was great! 2nd time around...The Worst Experience Ever! My friend & I got a pkg. deal from Beverly Hills Rejuvenation (located inside) Trilogy Spa. I got my laser treatments from BH Rejuvenation just fine, this is why I'm giving it a 1star review. The massage experience from Trilogy SPA on the other hand was HORRIBLE! Oh where do I begin, my friend & I, both made our appnt. a week before the 5th of July. Not only was it a Sunday but the day after the 4th of July so needless to say parking in Manhattan Beach was a hot mess! We got to the receptionist to cool off but only to find out that our appnt. was on the 12th, not the 5th, it was changed w/out our knowledge, the staff's explanation was that the "promotional pkg." we had purchased was only valid Mon-Thurs. We explained that we had mentioned clearly when we booked the reservations last week, that we wanted to upgrade our massage pkg. so that would have been another hint or indication to whomever made the 1st appnt. for us that we had a promo pkg. So I looked at my phone to see the calendar to book another date, to my surprise 12th falls on a SUNDAY!!! What?! My friend & I looked amazed because the front staff clearly are out to space! Still didn't get an apology or acknowledgement of their mishap, she only blurted out, " well we have to change that date quickly to some other time!" Ok am I delusional but since we made time & drove around to look for parking during the holiday that they should have just honored the 1st appnt? Anyways, we thought fine, let it go..so to be nice we made another appnt. for today the 6th, it's a Tues. We get to the spa, they rushed us coz' our upgrade is only 60min & they will count the 5min before & 5min after so technically 50min! That's not what it sez on the pamphlet but ok, moved on. Next I got to my room, it was freezing cold, I'm not sure if my masseuse was new but she didn't even asked me if the temp. & pressure (massage) was fine so I finally volunteered after a few minutes that I needed more pressure coz' it felt like she was just rubbing lotion on my back!! After my massage, I wanted to take a bath in 1 of the tubs (there are 2 side by side) My friend's masseuse got her bath ready served w/ fruit & the sugar scrub, mine?? No where to be found?! Now mind you I've been cold from the massage room, So I decided to prepare my own & while waiting for my bath water I waited in the dry sauna room, come to find out my water was luke warm, it wasn't working properly. I asked 1 staff for assistance, she never came back??!!! My friend is somewhat amused but also annoyed coz' now she had to rushed her bath so I can use it afterwards. Fast forward to this horrific experience, we informed the front desk while in the process of paying our bill, she never apologized for the inconvenience but continued on to explained the gratuity for the services! What services??? Then our bill was $5 higher than what the promo pkg listed it as, so I showed her again, she went on to say that what we have in print is incorrect & no other explanations! Aggh, correct me here but don't they have to honor what they had advertised on these promotional list of prices? Again, no apology just swiped my card & charged the bill! The other staff mentioned they do have a few "kinks" to fix, they're not used to this "promotional stuff" and we should still be glad coz' it's still a lot cheaper than paying their normal prices! Was that a jab? That we're being cheap about this? It's the whole business principal & etiquette for me here.... Here's another kicker!! I asked for a comment card, the front desk left, came back very shortly & said they don't have any??? I've been to a few spas, less expensive than this place & they always asked for me to make sure I fill out the survey! Hello Trilogy management, you need some serious training with your staff, start with...say it with me, "The customer is always right!" I work with a big corporation, BMW (I'm sure you've heard of it), if we clearly had put something in writing, not only we have to honor it, we have to give something to accommodate our clients & make sure to APOLOGIZE for the inconvenience. Get it together people! I will NEVER go back to this place, not even if it is for FREE! read more

Nice warm atmosphere! Very clean changing area with showers and tubs if you want to soak before your massage. I loved my fire and ice facial with Marile today. She was so knowledgeable and even gave me a sample of a product she thought I might like. She even went over the time a little to be extra thorough with me (which I appreciated a lot). Highly recommend her! I think it was a good service but maybe better for exfoliation and not as deep as I wanted. She highly recommended the hydrafacial which I will try next time. I had a great hot stone deluxe massage from Sean. He did an amazing job. It was like he was psychic and knew exactly what I needed. He asked me if there were any areas that needed special attention and I said my back. He then customized my massage to get out all my kinks. My massage was part hot stone, Thai, Swedish, and deep tissue. In one word, it was heaven. I can't wait to have another massage with him! read more

The spa as a whole is fantastic but I am mainly writing this review to rave about massage with Sean. He helped me with some pretty severe neck and shoulder pain that I was having from working out incorrectly. Literally, his massages were the only thing that helped when the pain would flare up. I have been to Trilogy Spa numerous times and have always enjoyed my time. For this occasion, my husband had purchased a gift card for a facial and I called to schedule the appointment for Feb 10th. Once I arrived, the service was great, although I wish they would have talked to me more about what I was looking to achieve during the facial and any concerns I had. This really helps set expectations for the customer. After the facial, it is tradition that I order lunch and enjoy the patio. It started to rain once my lunch had arrived, so I hurried inside to eat. They told me I couldn't eat inside, due to allergies. I had to leave to eat my lunch back at the restaurant I ordered it from, which was really embarrassing since I couldn't shower and my face was irritated. Once I left to check out, they told me I owed another $45 plus tip. Apparently the facial I had done was not the exact one on my gift card. This is something that was called out when I booked the appointment and should have been confirmed upon arrival. The overall communication of service is unacceptable. A couple days after the appointment, my skin became irritated. I have never had any allergy or acne, so this was more than a surprise. Overall, I'm sharing my experience with family and friends and will find a new spa in the area to go to, which is such a disappointment because I live in walking distance. read more

I came here on Saturday for a couple's massage with my boyfriend. I had been here once before a few years ago and remember the massage being much better. My massage therapist was very rough and I had to ask her several times to use less pressure. She also kept bumping into the table and tripping several times during the massage which made loud noises and interrupted the peacefulness of what a massage should be. My boyfriend said his massage was just ok, nothing great at all. I'm disappointed that this place has gone downhill. read more

This place is literally the best kept secret in Manhattan Beach. I have been twice now and I am not sure why I don't pamper myself more often! They are the best on birthdays (the two times I have been). I have had both a facial and massage - amazing. So relaxing. Everyone there is extremely kind and friendly. My only wish is that the weather had been better so I could have sat on their peaceful outdoor deck again. Simple Full Bikini waxing (not the full tilt Brazilian, just the basic).... I think not! 1:30 that did not begin until 1:50 because technician told me she had to put money in her meter! What? Then she shared they had the wrong room booked for my appt. with no warm wax ready so she had to kick someone out of a room. What? I have had a bikini wax many times before and nothing was this painful of a treatment....What? Got home with bruises and red marks from lifting the wax. And the grand prize, wax remaining all over what was left for me to deal with at home. Calling manager tomorrow, but DO NOT BOOK A WAXING HERE EVER! BOOK A DACIAL WITH DALLAS PORT!! I'm hesitant to write the glowing review that is deserved as I'm worried she will become too busy, but here goes... Dallas is a brilliant esthetician! Her extraction diligence is intense and borderline obsessive but your skin will thank you for giving in to her mastery. I just had my second visit with Dallas and already see a huge improvement in my skin. She tailors her approach to the individual, gives helpful advice on home care and is also a lovely person to have a conversation with. Trilogy has been my go-to spa for many years. Everything about their facilities are a 5/5 but I have to say that the rooftop lounge is definitely my favorite of their areas...it is breathtaking (both at night and during the day). Their online booking system is very convenient and from the second you walk through their door the staff makes you feel right at home. Sean gave me my most recent massage and I felt I needed to write this review as I can't say enough good things about him. I was having some major pain in with my lower back and after a short discussion with him before we started he did an outstanding job customize my massage to treat my specific problem area(s). I had a lovely experience at Trilogy Spa yesterday. I've only had 2 facials (elsewhere) before this visit and they were so-so. This place is truly amazing. If you ever need a little bit of relaxation and serenity, come here! It felt great coming from work and just having a few moments to decompress and enjoy being pampered. I would of stayed longer and laid out on the deck, but I had to leave for dinner. I had the Trilogy Spa Facial and it was the best facial I've ever had for my skin. Marissa was my esthetician and she was very sweet and accommodating to my skin concerns. My skin has never felt so soft and healthy as it does right now. I was surprised that my facial included several types of treatment. I even responded after she went through the list, saying, "Oh, wow, it includes all those steps?" If you have problem areas, she'll address those appropriately. The staff was also very attentive and provided excellent customer service. I also purchased 3 of their signature scrubs and a heart candle for my Mom for Valentine's Day. I will certainly be back for another facial. read more

This Spa is so peaceful beautiful and relaxing. I just received a massage using the fascia blaster and I feel so good muscles less tight and I get to work on smoothing that cellulite. I'm obsessed with this place! I came in for a massage. I sat in the sauna and drank cucumber water while I waited. Had the best massage of my life (forgot the guys name) and he asked me specifically where I was in pain and focused on that area! Then afterwards I soaked in one of the tubs and used the sugar scrub they provide! The staff was so polite and tranquil and the place was so clean and organized. I had the best experience. To be clear the low rating is the LOCATION. After waiting over 15 minutes to find a parking spot in the area my husband got a $48 ticket while he was in spa (apparently it expired as he came down the escalator, check out took a bit longer than he expected). He's lucky he allowed extra time or he would have missed massage time too. We have several massages on credit and he now refuses to go to this location anymore. I don't really blame him, we have stopped shopping in Manhattan Beach and going to one of our kids favorite breakfast places due to the parking being an issue every time we go. I will use the credits up with a friend. To bad, I loved the outdoor deck when I could get a massage with friends but the reality is that Burke's has the same, no parking challenge and full jacuzzi, steam, and sauna for what Trilogy is now charging. read more

Sadly, it sounds as if most of you have never really been to a nice spa before with professional staff and great service so you think paying over 100 bucks for a body scrub that your husband could give you in the shower is sooo worth it. Ok, Trilogy works for Manhattan Beach and since it's basically the only day spa that survived the economy crash, we don't have a choice now do we? I went to get a deep tissue massage and asked for focus on upper back and neck, and feet. Facilities are clean and modern. Service is good, and Luis was very kind and professional. However, he was heavy handed with use of oil (excessive), and overall the massage felt more like a swedish massage with greater pressure than an actual deep tissue massage. He kept massaging the same area over and over again, focusing on the side that didn't hurt that much even though i expressed that the right side was the more problematic one. read more
