I got my very first Brazilian here in May, and returned a few weeks ago to get my second. I was terrified on my first visit, but Desiree was completely professional and polite and did a really great job (both times). The 'I'm-talking-to-you-to-distract-you" made the otherwise uncomfortable, awkward and painful experience bearable. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable and I will absolutely return. I've been getting waxed forever and when I moved to Chicago I wanted to go somewhere that reminded me of my last waxer who was fabulous! I saw this place and thought 'sweet, it's just a waxing place!' Some of those spas do the waxing as an after thought and I've been burned before and left barely able to walk a time or two, so I'm pretty picky about where I'll go. I love Trim. I see Stephanie. She is great! I've been going to her for about 2.5 years now and I have never had a problem. She has a great personality and is quick with everything. As far as price, it is pretty standard. I HEART TRIM! I've been using waxing services for the better part of 7 years. When I moved to Chicago I was on the hunt for someone as great as my gal back home. Thankfully I found Trim! I love that I can call the a day ahead/ or day of to get an appointment. My favorite girl is Stephanie- she's fabulous! They are always quick but thorough, and I've never had anyone be unfriendly in my 3+ years of coming here. I have been going to Trim (Lincoln Park) for over a year now & won't go anywhere else! My first time, I called to set up an appointment and was assigned with Abigail to do my Brazilian Wax. This was my first wax and I was extremely nervous but it ended up not being as bad as I thought. I mean I don't think I can ever get use to the pain of a Brazilian but Abigail always does her best to make you feel comfortable! She is friendly, funny & knows what she is doing!!! I first came here about 7 mos ago based on the recommendation of a friend. I was not living in Chicago at the time, but recently moved back and had my second Trim experience today. I loved the girl who waxed me the first time and was impressed with myself for remembering her name and requested her 7 mos later! Taylor did an amazing job! She is quick, thorough, and painless. After 4 years in China, I forgot that it is possible to have an amazing Brazilian experience. Taylor also makes you feel relaxed, comfortable and is easy to chat with. The receptionist is also really friendly. My only complaint is the maintenance of the rooms. I know this is only aesthetics, but the wallpaper is peeling and the seat in the corner has more than a few scuff marks. If I'm taking my pants off, I expect the place to look clean and well taken care of. But I guess I can get over it for one of the best waxing experiences I've ever had. Started out with the brows, was very pleasantly impressed with the work, and decided to venture a little lower. Bikini, and finally a brazilian. I will forever request TRICIA as she was unbelievably gentle, easy to chat with and makes you feel totally comfortable and like you are not doing anything remotely awkward, like spreading your legs for a complete stranger. She is completely professional- and my boyfriend appreciated her work. I am never going anywhere else. I've heard horror stories in regards to waxing (burns, bumps...you get the idea) It's almost enough to make a girl give up but this place is my savior. I started out going to the location on Milwaukee bc it's more convenient but when my girl left, the Lincoln park location seemed worth the trip due to the less painful experiences. There is no such thing as pain-free waxing but at Trim, it's a good as it gets. It's a girl place so there is no need to feel awkward- it's what they do! One suggestion, let the girl you have an appointment with decide on the type of wax (hard or soft wax). Some ladies have a speciality and more experience with one over the other. read more

Checked out Trim for the 1st time because after probably a dozen salons I have yet to find my waxing home. I'll definitely go back regularly. Positives: Reasonable price. $100 for full leg and bikini may be the best price I have found at a reputable salon. Clean: Beth never reused a stick and I think she only used each cloth strip twice, so I was never covered in my own freshly removed hair, nor did I have funky wax application due to redipping. Less pain than normal: Could be great technique, could be better wax, but whatever it was this was one of my less painful waxes Beth's technique for the Brazilian was FABULOUS!! Normally I expect to be spread eagle, legs in the air at weird angles, on all fours holding my cheeks open, and other humiliating positions, but Beth was able to completely clean me up without any of that weirdness. So I left with my dignity intact, YAY!! The only negatives, and these are really not so bad: At the end I wasn't given any wax remover to clean myself up, though Beth had been cleaning me up as we went along, so I left with about the same amount of wax residue as anywhere else. The track lighting - excellent in that it gives the waxer the best chance of getting every hair, but bad that it's shining in my eyes like I'm being interrogated. I will for sure go back and I will recommend it to any of my bold friends! read more

I recently moved to Chicago and was dreading finding a new place to get waxed - my last esthetician was the best! Today was my second time getting a Brazilian at Trim, and I can see it becoming my regular salon for Brazilians. The atmosphere is laid-back and the staff is friendly - It's hard not to be comfortable, which is saying a lot for such a painful experience! I called the day before and got an appointment without a problem. The service itself was an enjoyable experience; my estheticiam was easy to talk to and had the job done within half an hour. Although I have had Brazilians that I felt were a bit more thorough, she did a pretty good job tho overall. Also, I'm sure if I asked for her to go over a few missed spots, she would have done so. I am considering going back to try an eyebrow wax - something that I typically avoid out of fear of it being a disaster. First - I am a waxing virgin. I've gotten my eyebrows done before, but never at a salon like this. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I really have nothing to compare it to. Mina was my lady, and she is extremely friendly, and she got down to business quickly. If you're squeemish about your privates like I am, a brazillian is not for you - but Mina made me feel comfortable and welcome. I will go back to her for sure. Brazillians are by no means a comfortable experience, but Mina and the atmosphere at Trim made it the most pleasant experience I could imagine for a first-time waxing experience. The room was cozy, warm, clean, organized, and I was in and out in less than an hour (I received the Date Night Package) I would recommend this place for experienced waxees or waxing virgins. Its on Lincoln, so street parking at prime time may be difficult, but easily accessible by bus or train. read more

She is the best--quick, clean, professional, nice to talk to...she isn't afraid to hold the skin down to keep it from hurting, which is really the most important thing!! I've seen other people there, but never felt 100% satisfied for one nitpicky reason or another, so now I just wait for Stephanie because she is the best. I loved my experience at Trim! I went to get a Brazilian Bikini wax and had Stephanie. She was amazing. My experience was quick, and she made it very comfortable....well as comfortable as a Brazilian wax could get! It took about 15 minutes which was is ideal for that procedure. The main reason I went to Trim was because of how clean, and sanitary they are with everything they do. The DO NOT double dip the sticks in the wax, which is the most important thing for me when getting a wax. Also the price was very reasonable for a Brazilian. This is the best wax I have ever had! Beth is amazing! I have been blessed with pale, paper thin skin and black hair...and waxing has always been painful. I got the full Brazilian, and Beth was fast, kept conversation going, and it barely hurt. I booked my appointment this morning, and the salon was very kind about keeping my appointment when I had trouble getting a cab and called to let them know I was running late. Went for the Brazilian / eyebrow combo. Brazilian was good - no obvious strays left behind, pain similar to prior I've had elsewhere, not painless but as expected and as typical I take a little bit of Tylenol/ibuprofen to take the edge off before hand. Eyebrow wax was fine, though I did spot a few strays. Ample paid street parking out front, at least during the weekdays when I went. You can book online, but a little annoying that you have to call in order to book the Brazilian/eyebrow package. read more

Chad is SERIOUSLY fantastic. I have had a few Brazilians from him now, and every time, it is quick and efficient. He is really thorough and I almost never have any strays (if I do, there's only like 1 or 2). Even for my first Brazilian, he made it as painless as possible - truly not bad at ALL! I know a lot of ladies may have an issue with going to a guy for their Brazilian, but Chad was an esthetics teacher, so he knows his ish, and he honestly always makes me feel so comfortable. No awkward silences as he rips the hair out; he's personable and professional, always making me feel super comfortable. Chad also did my eyebrows once and they looked awesome. He gave them a great shape without making them too skinny or leaving them too thick. If you have the choice, I absolutely recommend Chad 100%. He's efficient, thorough, and a true professional with a great "bedside" manner! read more

I've gone here a few times now and have had three different girls do my waxing. I don't want to specify *exactly* what I had done, but yeah, *that.* All the girls were equally as skilled, but I think I prefer Simona. But Danielle and Beth were also very friendly, so when I can't get in to see Simona, I just see whomever's available. I've gone to other places in the city as well, and they work more slowly here, but it seems less painful the way they do it. I think it's the softer wax, and that they gently tap the area where they just yanked out hair from, so you don't have to lie there and suffer. If it's your first time, I think you'll have the best experience here. read more

I had a girl named Steph--and I would recommend her highly--she did a great job and was super easy to talk to. Also great that they take late appointments--and they almost always get me in early. Maria is the best! I use to work at a salon/spa and would get my Brazilian waxes there so when I stopped working there I didn't know where to go. I got booked with Maria and couldn't be happier. She is friendly and keeps conversation going during the wax which is nice because it distracts from the fact that you're getting hair ripped off your body. I originally scheduled an appointment for Saturday at 3:30pm. I called this morning (Friday) to see if they could take me today instead. The girl on the phone seemed distracted, but she said they had a 2pm appointment available. I showed up at Trim at 1:50pm. The girl at the desk (not the one I talked to on the phone) said they didn't have an appointment for me. (Turns out the girl on the phone f'd up my appointment and forgot to put it on the books...seriously, for someone who probably makes $8 an hour, is it really that difficult to write down someone's appointment?) But they said they could take me anyway. Then they asked me if I had been there before (I had been there 3 times prior) but she said she didn't see me in their system. I sat there until 2:10 and no one approached me. I got so pissed off I walked out the front door. I will never go back to Trim because of this experience. I will go to The Waxing Room from now on. They have better talent and they are organized with their appointments! read more

Being new to the city I was still trying to find an aesteticiain and came across Trim. I loved working with Taylor at the Lincoln Park location and the salon is so pretty and classy. The old boudoir, cabaret, and pin up girl photos are just awesome and I loved the color scheme and cutesy furniture. I would love to give this place 5 stars but I had a bad reaction to the wax. I have been getting waxes for about five years now at the same salon in Denver without incident and apparently Trim uses a different type of wax that my skin just doesn't like. Taylor was very apologetic of my reaction and I told her it wasn't her fault (because it really wasn't at all, neither of us knew I would have a terrible reaction to a new wax). She was kind enough to make a note to use hard wax next time in my file to avoid another incident. I will be back to Trim with the use of a different wax as I really enjoyed working with Taylor and the salon in general. Prices are pretty good too!
