I remember hearing that your daily skin care products and makeup absorb better after dermaplanning and I would highly agree with this. While they did mention the membership to me at the end, it wasn't in a pushy way. I didn't end up enrolling in the membership, but it seems like a pretty good deal if you would like to have monthly facials.

I had a previous set on, and Bambi charged me a $35 removal fee when all she did was literally rip off my natural lashes along with the extensions. I had tears dripping down my face because it hurt so bad. After about an hour, she told me she was done and charged me $170 for a full set. The set was NOT complete. There were multiple gaps where my natural lashes didn't have extensions, and the extensions were way too close to my lash line and still causing discomfort. I paid $205 total for an unfinished set AND to have my natural lashes ripped out. When I brought up the gaps, she told me I could come back and get a discount. I explained that I don't live in Chicago anymore, so there would be no "next time." She then tried telling me that it was a hybrid set and that hybrid lashes aren't supposed to look full. That doesn't explain why there were multiple natural lashes with no extension when I PAID FOR A FULL SET. I asked her to fix them, and she told me I would have to wait an hour and a half because she had another appointment coming. She was seriously going to let me walk out with unfinished work and obvious gaps after I had already paid $205. Extremely disappointed, especially because I had been here twice before and never had an experience like this. I would not recommend coming here.

Ok, so I was the scardiest cat of all the scaredy cats in the world to ever get waxed. I'm the biggest wimp in the whole world! But after being inspired by a scene in "The Break Up", I decided it was worth giving it a try ;) I've been here three times in the last month and a half. The first time was a Brazillian with Stephanie. I ain't gonna lie, it effing hurt. Like, a lot. But strangely much less than I had imagined. She was very sensitive to the fact that I was new and scared. I got one of the sugar scrubs after it was over (Passion Fruit! It smells so yummy) on their recommendation and I actually use it to exfoliate my entire body. It's pretty cool. On a whim I went back for a full leg wax on one of those scant gorgeously perfect afternoons and had Fiona. She was efficient and nice enough. She and Tara (the receptionist. I love how they're so into you knowing all of their names) warned me that small, invisible hairs may grow back within a few days, making me not as smooth as I might like since it was my first leg wax. They were right, this is exactly what happened. But I appreciated the heads-up, and it reassured me that they hadn't done a half-assed job. Today I had Evie for another Brazillian, and I'm totally seeing her from now on! The other girls were definitely nice, but I loved her no-nonsense attitude. I was still a bit nervous, and she was sympathetic but didn't coddle me like Stephanie seemed to. I guess I needed a little Brazillian tough love ;) She was also a bit more thorough and gave me warnings before she yanked on areas that were particularly painful or sensitive. I've never gotten this done anywhere else, so I don't exactly have a great point of reference, but I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. They are professional, kind, understanding, and fast!! (Although, yes, they are a little pricey and the product prices may make your eyes bug a little bit!!) read more

What a great place!! I met Laura, she's really the best - be sure to say hi when you meet her! I dragged my bf in for some much needed wax (he needed much less hair) - had to play the "I dare you ..." card to get past his macho - well you know, but it worked! Laura played right along, but also answered all of his questions seriously. He eventually realized they're a legit business - and I wasn't taking no for an answer ... and agreed to go. Jen did the waxing, they call it the Speedo for the guys 'areas'. She was very concerned for his comfort and took extra care to be as gentle as possible, I heard very little screaming - guys can be such babies sometimes ya know ;). I was so impressed that I had her give me my touchup right after. It also gave him some 'cooldown' time to recover. Tara (I think/hope) suggested some advil before his first time, very good advice, and they also helped with suggestions to avoid ingrowns - not a pleasant thought down there - a nice touch I thought. Stephanie M. from Colorado is WITHOUT HYPERBOLE...the kindest, gentlest and BEST BRAZIALIAN BIKINI "wax-doctor" I've ever encountered. She is indeed a SUPERSTAR aesthetician. "Sister's" who? "Sister's" is NOT the only place to go in the City of Chicago... TRIM and esp. Stephanie M., (Colorado Stephanie, there are two Stephanie's at Trim, I'm told thru Yelp postings Stephanie K. is a rockstar as well, however, I can only speak of Colorado Stephanie) ...she took my pain-threshold into serious consideration...it wasn't a 15minute operation...she took her time, respected how much I could withstand and graciously helped me prepare for the inevitable rrrrrriping of Miss Daisy...with an added bonus of soothing the area with a fantastic magic lotion....in the end...it was not the torturous experience I have had in the past...sure the undercarriage was a bit of a shock to the system, however...when is it not? They had 5 until the other day. Let's start with an overview. My eyebrows are whores. Everybody had worked with these. Waxing, threading, razoring. You name it, my eyebrows dealt with them. Anyway, I did was cheap and affordable but ended up paying the ultimate price when my eyebrows went from thick and full to barely there. So...I found Trim on here. I actually lived close to there, always saw the place but never went in. So, I scheduled an appointment, went in the same say and met Mina. She listened to me. Told me what I needed to do and what she was going to do. My eyebrows aren't perfect because we have a ways to go but overall I was happy because she didn't just do anything to me. So, i have been getting waxed for years and i noticed a new waxing studio moved into my neighborhood. I couldn't get an appointment at my usual place so i decided i would give Trim a try. I was hesitant. I was greeted by Laura. She was as kind as can be and i filled out some quick paperwork. The girl that waxed me was named Steffanie. If I could kidnap her I would, she was painless. I love her. I now have a new "usual place" for waxing. They also have an area of cute and practical retail in the front of the store. There was another girl waiting to be waxed when I was leaving and everyone was just talking like they were old friends, it was nice and laid back. A cute, comfortable, super chill place to get waxed. I had gone in for waxing services and was scheduled with Evie. It was the best and most painless waxing experience I have ever had. Evie made sure nothing was left behind and she was so quick!! After experiencing many Brazilians in Chicago, I have seen it all. I have been burnt, I have had people double dip in the wax, I have been contorted into crazy positions, all of the above. Julie changed all of that. I have since moved further away from this location, but would never miss my appointment with Julie like clockwork. She is great at her job and a great person to boot. I am fairly new to Chicago, and have been looking around for a wax spot. After reading and giggling about the Yelp review Veggilicious wrote I decided to check this place out. I only wish I was close with friends that would look at my vajay vajay and let me know if it looked good or needed some work while on vacation! (lol). I think I just keep striking out when it comes to Trim. The staff average in terms of customer service, not to talkative to myself or when clients arrived. My brazillian was not as smooth as I thought it would be it took forever. My technician lady kept going over the same spot and it was just to painful I had to tell her to stop and I usually can take the pain. I went back a second time with a friend, that time my experience was a little better, but my friends was not and she told me this place was just not worth coming back to, I think I have to agree with her. read more

I am a huge fan of Trim in Bucktown! I always go to Ewelina for my waxing appointments. I recommend Ewelina for anyone with wax anxiety. She is beyond kind and patient and makes you feel totally normal. Ewelina is extremely skilled at what she does, and it makes waxing quite tolerable. As far as Daina, herself, I went into my scheduled 3hr appt with my AirPods expecting to listen to my audiobook because I'm anxious and awkward and wasn't sure what the heck to do for this length of time without a phone to scroll through. I didn't even touch the headphones. She was such a joy to talk to and so easy to get along with. I genuinely enjoyed the entire appointment. It might seem like a small thing, but my energy has changed since getting my brows done by Daina. I'm dressing up a bit more. Smiling more. Want to take pictures of myself.
