I have gone to TRIM multiple times and I went in for a last minute waxing before I went on vacation. I had a brazillian, eyebrows and lip-wax. I've had three different waxers and the first two were great. The third waxer Kim- took about twice as long as previous waxes and the wax used burnt a spot about the size of a mosquito bite on my face. My brazallian wash not nearly as tidy as with other workers. Trim is great....Kim, not so much. read more

5 stars for Tiffany Mei whom is my go-to person in Chicago for eyebrow threading and Brazilian. She does a superb job with my eyebrows, like way better than any other threading places in south loop/ Lincoln park which were also amazing! The difference to me is that she knows how to frame brows naturally around Asian features. For waxing, Tiffany is also good at letting me know when to breathe in/out because I'm a baby with pain. i went today since it is literally across the street from my house. They are really nice there. I had Liliana and she was really good. Some chit chat, was quick and did a good job. I really like the prices too. All in all, a good experience. I now have gone a number of time and seen Bridget who is AWESOME. She does a great job and is easy and fun to talk with. Karen is truly amazing - I have very sensitive skin... everywhere on my body. She used a soft wax which usually makes me nervous but actually turned out to work much better than the hard wax I am used to (they carry both but she used soft wax after I described my skin, etc). The attention to detail is priceless, the pain minimal, and I cannot say enough about how thrilled I was with the result... days after my waxing. I called and made an appointment day-of and couldn't have been happier! I love how they use soft and hard wax to make sure *everything* goes. Well since my previous waxing salon was closed for 5+ days during the holidays, and I was in desperate need of a brazillian, my old salon just lost a would-be long time customer to Trim. And WOW. This place is friggin awesome. The decor is so chic and welcoming, a very girlie place. I was able to call that morning to change my appointment time with no problems. I forgot who my waxer was (oops!) but she was a young Asian woman. Immediately she was professional and very nice. She made casual convo and made me feel very comfy. While I've been in and out of a wax session in 10 minutes flat, since my old salon worked with longer strips of hair, it hurt more. But my waxer at Trim used shorter, quicker areas to wax which actually made it my least painful wax yet (and I've had 5!). The best part? She PLUCKED the extra stubborn hairs that didn't pick up on the wax!! My old salon NEVER did this and I would notice stray hairs once I got home. Umm HELLO! I paid to get all my hair off, and i expect it to be so. Yes the extra plucking hurt like a mother but it looked so clean. If you're skeptical about going here, just GO! They're super nice, professional, and they cater to newbies. Plus, they're one of the cheaper places in the city (trust me, you WILL NOT find a place cheaper). I went to Trim when I was traveling in Chicago. I got a Brazilian and a Lower Leg Wax. My experience at Trim was pleasant enough, the staff was cautious and friendly. The location was very busy that evening which was OK. Although the waxing rooms are right off the main section and when you disrobe for a Brazilian you are sitting on the table with nothing to cover up. I am not modest I just don't like to show off my goods to more people than necessary! A small towel would have been nice. The Brazilian itself was performed using soft or strip wax. I have to say, for me, I strongly prefer it when my esthetician uses hard wax! I am not sure if they would have used the hard wax if i would have asked for it. The lower legs went smooth with no real issues. My waxer was friendly and very talkative. Overall, I feel my experience at Trim was good. It was an average, positive waxing experience. read more

I've been coming to Trim for about two years now and have regularly gone in to see Kim and Bridgette -- who are still at the top of my list --but my experience with Alma today was, hands down, perfect. Alma took the time to understand what I wanted, paused to let me check out the progress to make sure I was happy with it, gave me stress balls (umm, hallelujah!), and kept conversation to a pleasant minimum. My best friend thinks I'm crazy because I'm always trying out new places for waxing and hair, and I usually get screwed along the way. She keeps telling me to stick with someone i like. However, I am always in search of the best of the best. I'm so glad that I do that, because I have truly found the best of the best when it comes to brazilians and legs. (better than charles ifergan, mario tricoci and spa space). They use the best quality wax and have super trained estheticians that do tons of these regularly. They have the same meticulous standard of service, even though the place may seem not very spa-like. However, it has a retro, young vibe that puts you more at ease. I have been to both locations and have had the same amazing results. Needless to say, all of my friends go there now and are absolutely in love. They even come from the suburbs just to go to Trim. Prices are standard. I pay 110 for a full leg and brazilian. Prices went up $10 in September 2011. Columbia and DePaul students get 10% off and they started the Belly rewards program. Suited up in a terribly cute boutique-like decor, this is a solid place for waxing. I got lower leg and underarm done and the aesthetician was friendly and quite meticulous, making sure I double checked for all hairs begone and was completely satisfied before putting on this really nice gel/lotion (I've since forgotten the name) to finish up the job. Just one star off because the front desk could have exuded a bit more warmth and greeting when I walked in and there could be slight improvement in the technique aspects of service. I've always had aestheticians move to the other side of the table when working with the farther side but this one just simply reached across, at times nearly smothering me with her full bosoms. So, yeah, nitpicky stuff but 5*s has to be mind-blowing, right? Unfortunately being a student I can't make this a regular habit but if I could afford it, I'd make repeat visits to Trim. read more

So I was wishy washy about going to another place to get a brazilian after a terrible time in an LP location.....I still have 3 groupons to that place!!!!! Anyhow, I live near Trim and decided to call and make an appointment. I had no problem making an appointment for that day and found they even have late hours that sometime go until 10pm. I had Karen who has great glasses and a fantastic personality. I chose the 'date night' special which included a brazilian and a brow waxing. We did the brazilian first. Karen actually ask what I preferred rather than just going to town....like the place in LP did. She had a great style and I felt minimal discomfort. The brow wax was done out in the main area. At times you are tilted back in the chair which doesn't seem like it is going to stay steady, but i didn't fall out. She made suggestions for my light, thin eyebrows which will help me at future appointments. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. Bike parking out front. read more

I don't live in Chicago so I have been making trips to the city every six weeks just to see her. But long story short, my trip was delayed and I needed an emergency stop before a trip to the Islands and Trim, and my girl B, were there for me! It was not only a great wax, she was friendly, helpful and FAST! I am pretty picky about my brows. I love thick and well shaped brows. I have had some bad experiences in the past, where I had been growing my brows out for months and then had someone come in and wax all I had grown out off! I was so upset. Then I found Trim. I see Lynn here and every time I leave feeling great and like I love my brows. She actually does the waxing pretty quickly, but because I love the results so much I always trust she can judge where to wax in the short amount of time. I definitely recommend this place. Ok so I usually go somewhere else but my girl isn't there on Sundays soo.. in a desperate situation I found myself at Trim. Cool thing numero 1 is that they are open on Sundays and they are opened til like 10pm during the week so kudos and a brownie point and... the girl who waxed me was great, of course it hurts but she was quick and neat. There was no sticky feeling at the end which I usually get in other places. If I ever feel adventurous enough to go brazilian I'll go to Trim. read more

I had brazilian waxing here twice. I had it done with both Bridget and Beth. They were nice and did a good job. I like that they did it fast. For me it hurt less that way. They changed the stick every time they applied the wax. However, I do not like the receptionist. She just made me feel uncomfortable with her unfriendly manner both times. I might not go back because of that. There are many other places that have good waxing too. One thing I like to add is that they did not provide the tip envelope so the receptionist just put the money in each esthetician's envelope (I believe). It was a bit weird because I assume they would never know how much you tip unless you put it on credit card?? read more

I especially opened a Yelp account to rave about Trim! For years I was loyal to my "eyebrow girl" but when she decided to go back home to Poland 6 years ago I was left with the hunt of searching for PERFECT replacement. I decided she wasn't here... she was in Poland... because no one compared! Got so tired and fed up with these "mom & pop" places around my neighborhood that after looking like a FOOL for years, I decided to let my brows grow out and search for a reputable place with PROFESSIONALS who can deliver! I took on to Yelp to search for these places and found many... Trim stood out the most. After reading MANY REVIEWS.... I said to myself "self, this is the spot". I kept coming across the name Sharon, Deanne and Abbe as I read reviews. So I called tried to set up an appointment with Sharon/Deanne but they were booked. Abbe on the other hand had two openings left for the day and well, you guessed it I snagged an opening (SO HAPPY ABBE WAS FREE!!!!! AND I GOT HER INSTEAD)! Readers, not only is the place trendy, cute, and clean but the atmosphere, employees and the ambiance is AWESOME! Everyone is friendly, professional and made you feel very much welcomed! Abbe- was and is super sweet and very professional! I gave her full reign of my furry unibrows and told her... "you are the professional, this is what you do... so please feel free to do what you do best I trust you" (did I mention she is a professional Make-up Artist, Esthetician and an Eyebrow Specialist HELLOOOOO AMERICA I HIT THE JACKPOT!) When all was said and done I couldn't believe my eyes!! I HAD AN ARCH AGAIN, SHAPE, LID SPACE I mean AMAZING! She was so sweet asking if I was ok, (while waxing, trimming and plucking) and/or asking if I needed anything etc. Needless to say I found "THE ONE" and I couldn't be happier! All my friends commented on my eyebrows and couldn't get over how fan-tab they look! My friends are now in the process of letting their eyebrows grow out to get them reshaped by Abbe! She's awesome, Trim is awesome and I'm super thankful for Yelp and all the people that took their time to write a review on Trim! Price point is GOOD. My first Trim experience was wonderful! It was the first time I have ever had ANY waxing and I was going in for a Brazilian. So let's just say I was NERVOUS. However, once I was in the room with Bridget she made me feel so comfortable. She was so friendly, and explained the every step she took as she went through the process. She was so professional and SO QUICK, but most importantly she was very caring. I plan to go back again to see her very soon! As for the Brazilian itself, it was marvelous! It was painful, as expected, but nothing so excrutiating that I had to tell her to stop. (In those most sensitive areas she gave me time to brace myself which was much appreciated.) It was ALL worth it! The area stayed smooth and soft for weeks and when the hair began to grow back, it was very fine. If you are looking for a place to continue going back to, or just a one time deal, I would ONLY suggest TRIM. They really are the professionals in the business when it comes to waxing and hair removal. read more
