The doctors were great, and the front office staff was always clear about costs, insurance coverage, and what I was being charged for. I never felt surprised by a bill because everything was explained upfront. Unfortunately, my recent experience after the office moved to Chamblee was very different. I visited on a weekend in January for a deep cleaning and a painful tooth. I was told that my insurance could not be verified on the weekend and that I would need to pay upfront, but that any insurance-covered amount would be refunded after verification. I decided not to proceed with the deep cleaning, but I did see the doctor, received medication for an infection, and paid $141. The front desk informed me that I would receive a refund once my insurance was verified. I followed up two weeks later and was told they were still waiting for verification. It is now June, and I have still not received a refund or a clear explanation of the delay. I understand that insurance issues can take time, but nearly six months without resolution or communication is disappointing. I hope the office can look into this matter and improve communication regarding billing and refunds.

After a tragedy in my life in 2009 I stopped going to the dentist. Things like that just fell by…read morethe wayside as I dealt with my grief. Ten years went buy quickly and I still hadn't been to a dentist. I began to worry a bit as I had a tooth that had been painful off and on for that whole time. A few months ago decided that I had pushed it long enough and needed to see what was going on with my tooth before it became a real problem. I didn't know where to go and was truthfuly afraid at what might be discovered. I was really afraid I was going to need a root canal. To make a long story short, I went to two fancy dental offices, one in Buckhead and one in Norcross and was grossly disappointed. The one in Buckhead did a thorough examination and then told me I needed $5,000 worth of dental work. I felt like I was at a car dealership, they even had a little office they wanted you to sit in after the exam while they tried to "close" you and actually tried to get me to sign something while I was still in the exam chair, comitting to a next appointment...that was the first red flag for me. They wanted me to commit to $5,000 worth of work on the spot and sign papers to that effect. I told them I needed to think about it and got the heck out of there. The next Dentist was in Norcross and this guy had the approach of being the "cool" dentist, all pumped up on steroids etc. He called me "man" and roughly banged around on my teeth with a piece of metal and after a quick exam said I needed a root canal and to go get one and come back and he's "slap" a crown on the tooth. I had a feeling it was the wrong place for me as soon as I walked in. The furniture looked like it was from a night club and the receptionist was showing more cleavage than a Hooters girl....not really the kind of things I want to see at my Dentist's office....not confidence inspiring in my book. I was becoming frustrated as there a million Dentists out there and I didn't know who to trust and my tooth was becoming increasingly painful and I was getting really worried. I next asked a trusted counselor if he had any recommendations and he said he had a wonderful dentist. He recommended Dr. William Reagin. I called that day and made an appointment for a consultation. I immediately felt at ease in Dr. Reagins office. It was not in a fancy building with a fancy address, the waiting room was not full of blaring TV's and no one called me "man". Dr Reagin did a thorough exam on my tooth and verified without a doubt that the nerve was dead and that I needed a root canal and a crown as the tooth had a crack in it. Neither of the other dentists told me that my tooth was cracked and the first one didn't even say I needed a root canal. It would have been really bad for me if they had put a crown on a tooth that subsequently needed a root canal. I am grateful to have found Dr. Reagin. He is a very nice man who instilled confidence in me that he was correct in his diagnosis and treatment plan. The root canal was a piece of cake, I had no pain during or after and now have a nice porcelin tooth "crown", which looks natural in my mouth. I just noticed today that I no longer had to worry about not chewing too hard on that side of my mouth as I had done for ten years with my cracked tooth and decided to sit down and write this review. Dr. Reagin has been in practice for 50 years if I'm not mistaken. His daughter in law is also a Dentist in the practice. It is truly a family run practice, the likes of which are difficult to find these days. Everyone who works there was just as nice as can be. For the firsrt time in my life I can say that I will look forward to going to the Dentist.

I've had doctors that didn't want to be there, that were annoyed, and were short, but this was extreme-- it was very obvious she did not in any way shape or form want to be working with me and I was a complete pain in her ass. I was charged 300 for an endo consult which just amounted to her telling me that I had to have a root canal it was unavoidable. The 300 consult was about 5 seconds. Before I knew it she was numbing me and it was really painful. She was super annoyed. She had me bite down on a bite guard and yelled at me when it kept slipping. She finally took it out and said, "okay, forget that. Just keep you mouth open." When I needed to spit because I was going to start coughing, I raised my hand and she was like, "WHAT? I can't hear you. What are you saying? What? What?" followed with a huge annoyed sigh. No kidding you can't understand me with all this shit in my mouth. Occasionally she would hit me, and say, "Are you okay Michelle? Michelle? Michelle? ANSWER." While I was being tortured, I remembered my last root canal over 12 years ago, and how nice and kind the endo was, how he talked to me and was caring. I was literally terrified of this person working on me and I don't think I stopped shaking the entire time. I was TERRIFIED of her-- the assistant she had with her was just as cold and uncaring. Worst experience of my entire life with healthcare providers. And super strange. At one point in time during the root canal she started singing to the music that was playing. I had some hope that maybe she would be in a better mood and nicer to me, but no. The assistant also stopped being nice at some point, and would silently come over and jam an X-ray in my mouth, take the x-ray and take it out of my mouth WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. Absolutely worst experience with a healthcare provider in my life, and I will NEVER go back there. Ever. It was also really choatic and there was no sense of any type of leadership or anyone in charge. It was just people running all around and lined up to use x-rays, rooms, tools, etc. Total disaster. I miss my previous dentist who was so sweet and made small talk to make me comfortable. There were also no sinks in the patient rooms or place to spit, so it makes me wonder seriously where and how they are washing their hands and how clean they are. There should DEFINITELY be a sink in each room for handwashing.
