This may sound strange but Trini Chinese food is completely different, and better tasting than Chinese fast food. The other complication is that it is pretty difficult to find an authentic Trini Chinese food business in South Florida. Trini's Chinese Bites could not have been any harder to find, but was well worth the exploration. Since my MCL damage I have had to return to Total Orthopedic for my progress to be reviewed by the doctor. After a visit, I searched for food in the area and was excited to find this restaurant. It is a takeout only establishment but the area is clean and there is a clear view of the kitchen, so you can see all the tasty delights getting prepared. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and able to answer any questions you might have about the menu. I love that smell of fresh, well seasoned food being prepared in front of you. The menu is full of local (Trinidad) favorites, like Char Sui Kai Fan and Pepper Chicken, and sides as well. The portions are huge, tasty, and mouthwatering. Everything was cooked to perfection and the wait time was very short. The fried rice had the taste and flavor of the Dragon (Wok Hey), a thing that sets Chinese food places and chefs apart from each other. I only wish there were a bit more vegetables in there. As I will have many more trips to the doctor until I am fully healed, I will be back to Trini's Chinese Bites until I have tried everything on the menu. Hope to see you there. read more

We were in the mood for Chinese food, but didn't want par for the course, run-of-the-mill fare from standard Chinese restaurants. This is when we discovered Trini's Chinese Bites. The location was nearby, so we walked to get some exercise. Let's begin with décor and service. Trini's Chinese Bites is functional. It is strictly take-out. This seems to be trending lately. Order and leave. Order and leave. No lingering. And no tables to clean after patrons leave. Regarding service, we received a warm welcome from one of the owners. We placed our order, which came from a menu posted on the window and inside on the wall. The choices were far from standard Chinese restaurants, as that was a Trinidadian Chinese restaurant. Order time was minimal to go along with the minimal pricing. Once home, we enjoyed our meal. It was definitely not par for the course. If you want to step away from standard Chinese food, and get in some fusion-style cuisine, then Trini's Chinese Bites should be on your to go list. read more

As a first generation Trinidadian-American, I was so excited to learn about a restaurant nearby that claimed to have authentic Trinidadian Chinese cuisine. My dad was in town, and we decided to go check it out. Although clean, the store front was sterile and uninviting. There were no chairs, and everything was behind a glass. The woman who gave us our food was extremely friendly. No complaints there. The food was awful! I was embarrassed to call this "Trinidadian food." The wonton soup was so garlicky that it burned as it went down. The pork fried rice had no flavor and was over cooked. I ordered the cha sui roast pork with bok choy and that only had a few small pieces of pork. The shrimp and broccoli had small shrimp and smelled bad. After getting home and then getting back in my car later, it smelled as if there were dirty diapers in it. Save your money. This is NOT authentic Trinidadian Chinese cuisine. read more

Get ready for some Yummy Trini style Chinese Food!!! Great pricing and food is very tasty and well presented. Good portion size and A lot of selections. This really took me back to the Islands with all the names of those dishes. Already told the Family down south in Miami that they need to make the trip up here to taste. Hands down the best wonton soup (shrimp) I've ever had!!! I'm pescatarian and haven't had wonton soup since I transitioned because everyone else makes their wonton soup with pork. The broth is full of flavor and the wonton itself is filled with delicious velvety shrimp. The lady who took my order was super friendly and nice. The place is clean. I definitely will be back!!! Incredibly authentic Chinese Trinidadian food by the menu alone. I ordered the shrimp wontons soup and spicy wings. This is by far the best shrimp wonton soup I've had thus far. This place gives very small portion of food the chicken gave me heartburn burping it up all afternoon the oil was rancid rotten. They charge me close to 10 dollars for an order of vegetables alone no rice no meat. The portion was so small not worth it at all only cabbage and carrots that's it. So greedy I will never go back I hope they satisfied robbing 10 dolllars from what could have been a consistent client. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would but unfortunately, there is no option for that. My friend and I were looking for Trinidadian Chinese food and we were recommended to try this place by another Trinidadian person. We call to place the order and there were so much static on the line, that we could barely hear the person on the other end. Never being there before, we had no idea what the menu looked like so we called and placed two orders of 1/2 fried rice, 1/2 lo mein noodles and chicken. The person confirmed that we wanted combos so we said yes. Upon arriving at this hole in the wall place, we were pleasantly greeted until she asked if all FOUR orders were being paid together. We advised that we placed only two orders but not four. She instantly changed her tone accusing us of lying about the orders and speaking over us so that we could barely get words out. We apparently didn't not know that there were different combos with lo mein or with both lo mein and chow mein. For some reason she heard four orders of combos and we kept trying to explain that she must have misunderstood. After going back and forth for a good five minutes apologizing and trying to simply explain what we wanted, this lady began yelling at us like we were her children being scolded. She refused to serve us and started yelling "Get out of my restaurant" for a simple misunderstanding. I have never in my life been insulted and spoken to by a business owner especially a restaurant who should display excellent customer service if they are trying to get customers. I called the other person who recommended us and he said that he will never send another person there again! read more
