As a Ramen enthusiast I was impressed. Usually im a tonkatsu guy but when I asked about the 18hr chicken stock they use in every soup it made sense to try the white milo broth instead. I was not disappointed with the flavor and strange combination of fried gyoza. I would absolutely go back to try the tonkatsu version when im back in town and give the Ribeye topping a try instead of yoga. They also did proper tea by the pot. Watching Hiro the past 6 years on YT, during the pandemic and now I finally got to eat at his restaurant! I noticed the menu has evolve since their grand opening. I was so excited to finally make a visit! Like others have said, Theres a garage or you can park on the street. It was $3.75ish/hr on the street. I'm not sure how much the garage was. We came right at opening and there was already people there! We took a Quick Look at the menu outside. It's at the bottom floor of the garage and the plaza looks like it's in a subway station. It reminded me of Japan! They chose a great spot. It was well thought out. The art, walls, plates were so aesthetic. Services was great as well! I had to start with the classic Japanese food. Although I did want to try everything. Started off with the JFC. It was perfect! Perfectly fried and had just enough sauce. The marinade was perfect. The crisp-perfect. I love that they used chicken thigh. It was a perfect start. It was nice because they waited for us to finish our appetizer before bringing out our entrees and that's never done at a lot of restaurants anymore. I'll start off with the disappointment. I ordered the tonkatsu for myself. I was shocked at how burnt it was. And how disappointed I was that they allowed it to be served to me. It was very dry on the inside. And the whole dish wasnt as piping hot as the karaage was. Kinda like it was sitting on the pass waiting for the ramen to be done maybe? I wouldn't have mind if it was lukewarm if it wasn't burnt. That really bothered me. Not something I expected so early on in the day. But I ate it. It was hard to chew because it was dry. This was my only complaint. I wouldn't suggest ordering this dish. I liked the details. How the cabbage and carrots were cut. I liked the Japanese rice too. I could tell it was Japanese rice. It reminded me of going to mt Fuji when we went to a restaurant there that had the mt Fuji rice. It was perfectly cooked. Not soggy or hard. My partner had the house ramen-ichimora. It. Was. The. Best. Ramen. I've. Had. In awhile. lol. It used to be Momosan but went down hill about 2 years ago. They ended up shutting down this year. Anyway, back to the ramen. It wasn't as thick as Momosan (I like thick broth). But I liked this one too! They are both different broths. The meats were very very tender. Noodles weren't Al dente. But overall loved it. You won't find another broth like that in florida. Another thing I'd like to mention was the plates with good portions. Which I haven't seen done in a loooong time. We were stuffed! Had Ichimora bookmarked for some time. Went here on a whim and so happy we did. What a great Izakaya, filled with authentic Japanese cuisine and now with the addition of some of the most popular dishes in Chinese Cuisine. I asked the server how long they have been open and he said 8 months but I see Yelp pics and reviews dating back at least 3 years. Someone must have told him the wrong information but no matter, we are just glad we finally found it. We went with the classic Shoyu Ramen with nishu beef and black garlic. I was over the moon when they touted a 12 hour chicken broth soup base. Every ramen shop I have tried to get ramen from has a pork based broth which I do not eat. I'm finally able to have ramen and boy it did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly al dente and had a satisfying chew with every bite. The broth was so flavorful with the bamboo shoots, bean sprouts and all the slow cooked fats and oil from the chicken broth and the nishu beef, which was tender, thinly sliced rib-eye meat, I suspect. All this topped off with a perfectly cooked soy marinated egg. What an amazing flavor combination. The takoyaki appetizer was also delicious. Biting into the crispy exterior, you are then met with a soft and tender interior filled with chunks of octopus. The balls sat atop Japanese mayo and was drizzled with delicious takoyaki sauce. All it was missing was the katsuobushi which would have elevated the takoyaki flavor. We also ordered the Mala Shrimp which was on the Chinese menu and did not come with rice. That had to be ordered separately. Food came out quick as we were the only patrons apart from another table outside and service was good until a large party sauntered in and the server became inundated with requests. I was excited to try this place but overall it was quite disappointing. Lots of parking but all paid. I think the street parking is cheaper if available compared to actually inside the city park garage. The menu is quite diverse. Gyoza were meh for my palate.. No crispy bottoms. I got the chicken katsu curry. Server mentioned curry was not spicy at all, which is unfortunate, but I still wanted to try it. Taste was just very basic. Might have been less flavorful than a roux cube. The katsu was fried nicely. Wish it came with beni shoga, but it doesn't. My friend got the gyudon and the proportion was far too much rice for the amount of beef. I also tried one specialty roll, the bakka roll. I love salmon but the ikura was a bit fishy and ruined it a bit. Service was ok. A few whiffs. The place had little fruit flies/gnats flying around which is never a good sign and super annoying when you're trying to eat. It's always a pleasure to visit one of my besties in Florida. She and I are foodies from way back! The excitement in her face when she was telling me about this establishment was contagious. The chef, Hiroyuki Terada is world renowned and has a YouTube following of over two million. He deserves every bit of praise....the food here is phenomenal! We opted for their most popular ramen dish, Tonkotsu. Simmered 12 hour bone broth with tender Chashu. Garlic fried rice, the Takoyaki appetizer. Every dish was absolutely delicious, flavorful and filling. The portions are generous. To finish the meal we shared a dessert, Xango. A deep fried cheesecake crepe served with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel sauce and sprinkled with cinnamon. O.M.G....PERIOD! Afterwards we spoke to Chef Terada and let him know how much we enjoyed ourselves. He was as warm and inviting as his food. He shared stories and even took pictures with us! An extra special thanks to our server Sandy. This gentleman was on point in every way....friendly, professional, knowledgeable, funny and gracious. It was evident he truly enjoys his job. This aesthetically pleasing establishment is literally a hidden gem. Tucked within the City Park Mall in Riverwalk Center, attached to the North Parking garage. After the fantastic experience we had a couple of weeks ago, we came back with our daughter and son-in-law. It was spur of the moment that we decided on this. I called on the way here to see if we could make a reservation since it was a Saturday night and we weren't sure how busy they would be. I was asked what time we would be coming and I told the hostess it would be around 7:15 pm. (It was 6:50 pm when I was calling). The hostess said that they don't take reservations after 7 pm. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we had reservations. I told her that we did not and were told that they couldn't give us a reservation after 7 pm. She brought us to a table in front of the bathroom. We had walked past an empty table on the way to the table we were sat at but figured that that section was for reservations since that's the area where we sat the last time when we had a reservation, so we didn't say anything. Our waiter didn't seem as attentive to us as he did with some of the other tables. Not sure if we were "out of sight, out of mind". We had to flag our server down to ask for take out containers when we were done with our meals. The containers were brought out and we had to ask for a bag and our check. While we were waiting for our check, a big group of young adults (about 6 people) headed to the restroom that is only for 1 person and hung out behind us waiting for their turn. That was the last straw for my husband who got up and went to our server to get the check so that we could pay and leave. My fiancee and I went here after watching a trendy social media influencer's post about Ichimora being under new ownership and management. We had great expectations about our visit because the new owner was a famous YouTuber, Ichimora already had decent quality items on the menu before the ownership change, and one of our favorite social media influencer never reviews places that have bad tasting food. We were disappointed. The owner was not working that day. The place was too busy for just two servers to handle. The food was generous in portions but most of the fish were frozen quality. Many of what we ordered either lacked flavor or too salty or cold temperature wise. After reviewing the prices on the menu, this isn't a place where we would order sashimi, nigiri, or any raw appetizers from the sushi bar. The food took forever to come out, our server even forgot to bring out a kitchen dish that later on I asked to remove from our bill because we never got it. In our humble opinions, the place had better quality ramen under the old ownership and management. We won't be returning here not because we are upset but because the food isn't worth it not even for the price half of what they are on the menu. If you don't know the taste of decent sushi and enjoys Publix grade sushi on the regular and have iron stomach, please disregard my review and give this place a try. After all what do I know about good food, if I knew anything I would be on the receiving end of good and bad reviews as a business owner and not the one reviewing the restaurants. Just average. Broth was salty like an instant ramen at home and lacked that "umami" flavor. Combination Fried Rice: Solid overall. Lacked salt/umami, but no complaints. This was really a mixed experience that unfortunately did not live up to expectations. Appetizers were okay and then we ordered three rolls and two were in the average category but the Bakken Roll was outstanding and I don't usually eat rolls and prefer nigiri or sashimi but this was very good. However the reason we went to Ichimora was for the Ramen Soup and it was chosen because they use a chicken base rather than pork and of course pork is much more common. The waiter recommended soup we chose lacked the requisite richness and depth that is part of excellent Ramen and instead the broth was thin, dull and devoid of flavor. I was looking for the desired Umami flavor that I have enjoyed in Ramen Shops I tried in Japan as well as a few great versions I have had in the U.S. and it was not to be found here. The Ramen here was so disappointing that the goodness of the roll was negated. The highly touted chef was not present when we went so perhaps that impacted the dining experience. My only complaint was the location was a little hard to find. But once we found it the venue was lovely. It felt like a step into a little ramen shop in another country. Initially I was expecting more diverse Asian food as some of the review mentioned like Peking duck etc. However, it seems like the owner has changed and the restaurant is now fully Japanese. Regardless I stayed and ordered several items to try. The beef tataki appetizer was disappointing. It says it has yuzu ponzu sauce but soy sauce overpowered other flavor, I can barely taste the citrus flavor from yuzu. Mentaki udon flavor is very unique. I'd say it's an acquired taste. I'm not a fan, but neutral feeling. I also tried fried rice, and the flavor is pretty mediocre, kinda salty, and somehow fried rice took the longest time to serve. The Mentaiko Udon was creamy and flavorful, and the Vegetable Tempura was light and perfectly crispy, not greasy at all. The Beef Tataki and Bourbon Chicken both had great flavor and cooked perfectly, and the Tatsuta Chicken was juicy with the perfect crunch. The Pork Dumplings were super good. My absolute favorite dish was the Chicken Fried Rice. It had so much flavor and seasoned well. This dish beats any fried rice i've ever tried. We didnt know this place was chef Hiroyuki Terada san's new restaurant. We needed our asian food fix while visiting Fort Laudadale and we found this spot on weekday evening. This was one of the best Japanese cuisine experience we had in recent years. Every thing is so good and both ramen and sushi were top notch. We tired sumo roll to start and it was so fresh and perfectly prepared. Also chicken leg plate is something I still think of. Soft and tender - it was traditionally prepared in home cooking style. Excellent! We started with a pot of Oolong tea. It's a good sized pot and the 2 of us didn't finish it. We each ordered a bowl of udon noodles in pork bone broth. OMG it was delicious! I never knew noodles, broth and a few other ingredients could be so yummy and filling. We also split an order of seafood dumplings. They were good but then there was too much food so we both brought home a take home dish. For service you place your order on a tablet but the young lady came over a few times to answer questions, describe dishes and help with the ordering. The tea and food came out fresh and extremely hot from the kitchen. The restaurant was comfortable. We noticed there were a couple of Asian families eating there too. Ok, so this place is rather hidden. So the point like it looks like it's closed because of the construction going on around it. But it's very much open! Super cozy once you're inside. Staff was super friendly and helpful in answering all my questions and making some yummy suggestions. I because I don't eat pork, I wasn't able to try their regular Ramen on the menu. But they do offer a miso base Ramen that is not on the menu and lots of veggies that was DELICIOUS! My fave thing was the crispy sushi! Not what I expected, but exceeded my expectation.
