Trinitas was located in a "cave" behind the Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa. What I enjoyed about the cellars was the ambiance- a not-so-dimly lit area with wines and other goods in the room (including doggie treats?!) Trinitas serve three types of wine flights- one custom flight, a reserve flight, and one which includes a chocolate pairing (from local Kollar chocolates)! My friend and I opted for the chocolate pairing, which comes with four wines and four distinct chocolate pairings, each paired very well with the wine it came with! If I were to go back, I'd opt for the custom flight because there were some wines there that caught my eye that I wasn't able to try the first time around. One of the most amazing wineries I've been to so far! Not only do they have a winery, they have a spa too! If you've been here, you know exactly how I feel! The entrance of Trinitas sets the mood. It makes me feel like, I'm entering an underground vault. To the right, is the tasting room and to the left is the spa. We had the chocolate and wine tasting. I've never done that before so that was awesome. I think my favorite wine was the cab, for the life of me I couldn't remember the year :( After the tasting, we had the opportunity to tour the spa. They took us back to show us the Jacuzzi room, massage rooms, and the locker room. There are no words to describe the vibes, you're honestly going to have to come and see yourself. I am not going to lie though, the packages are pricey so please make sure that you review the menu or inquire about certain pricing. It would be perfect for a couples retreat, or even a birthday celebration with you and your girls, or even an anniversary gift, the possibilities are endless. One of my favorite wineries I like going to since it's in a very nice area of Napa. There is a resort across the street and open air seating in the plaza where the winery resides. I like their reds but their chardonnay is to die for. Extremely buttery and crisp, works very well with the seafood I eat most of the time. I found Trinitas Cellars accidentally and at first thought I'd made an error for the short choice of a tasting. Boy was I wrong!! Yesterday we ventured to Napa Valley to do some wine tasting. Our first stop was Trinitas Cellers. Our amazing host Tony Robustelli really made us all feel really Special! Tony is so warm, genuine and outgoing. If you want to have a great time and also learn about the wines Tony is your man! He served us a selection of their best wines and was very knowledgeable about the different vintages poured. We ended up buying some of the Mataro which Tony told us should go perfectly with our Barbecue dinner tonight. Or maybe it's because being there gave me so many warm and fuzzy feelings that now I'm feeling star-generous. Who knows. But there it is. First of all- shout out to my man Tony!! He's the kind of guy you'd want to share some wine with. Funny, light-hearted, and genuine. Thanks for the life advice! Next, the wine. It's $30-$40 for five tastings. It was comped for us because it's on our timeshare property. It was amazing, and it became more evident after visiting other wineries in the area. I especially liked their big cabs. We went home with an '06 cab and the 2013 CAB FRANCis. If you love Pope Francis like I do, ask them to tell you the story behind it. Also, they're open til 7pm, which is a huge plus. read more

It took me a while to catch on: * The name of the place is Trinitas. * One of their light red wines is called Rose'ary * A heavier red is called RatZINger. * There's something vaguely religious about those wine labels. Are you as dense as me or have I laid it all out for you pretty clearly? Trinitas is owned by "the Bush family" which just about caused me to spew wine all over the cave when revealed by Lamar, our friendly and generous pourer. Lamar further clarified, "not THAT Bush family" and we returned to normalcy. The owners are just your average American filthy-rich-winery-owning-Catholics not those other filthy-rich Americans responsible for America circa '89 - '93 or '01 - '09. That aside, I very much enjoyed the tastings here in the wine-cave-carved-into-the-hillside-under-some-vineyards and beside the Meritage's Spa Terra. The steep $20 per person tasting allowed big-pour samplings of 5 wines from amongst a full page of offerings and there were some very nice selections on offer (I particularly liked the reds). The $20 fee also nets you a for-keeps logo wine glass. The cave is a cool, comfortable place to hang out for a while and that $20 fee pre-establishes you as a baller so, if you find yourself over indulging you're right there at a 4-star resort and who knows, maybe there's a room there with your name on it. Additional Info: * You can join Trinitas "wine society" to get 3, 6, or 12-bottle wine shipments throughout the year. Joining also gives you other perks including discounts at the resort and in the spa. * The cave has a nice assortment of pretty gifts for purchase if you want to bring home something besides wine. * After sampling, take a walk up through the vineyard path above to see Napa's iconic grape-crusher statue up close. * Trinitas is at the very southernmost edge of Napa. If you're driving anywhere near the grape crusher statue you're very nearby but you won't see Trinitas. Siri should be able to lead you here. read more

Instead of signing up for a pre-organized wine tour, we decided to take on wine country based off of the best choices we found on Yelp that could accommodate a procrastinating bunch of new wine appreciators. Trinitas Cellars is located underneath the vineyard. Pretty awesome. Took us a minute to find our way there because we were confused about it being in a hotel. Once you walk through the lobby, it'll be quite easy to find. I shared a chocolate wine pairing with Ervin so as not to get drunk at our first stop (I'm a lightweight). Chocolate & Wine is only $32.40 (taxed) and it includes a 2012 Chardonnay paired with a chili lime tequilla tortilla brittle, 2011 Mysteriama, Old Vine paired with Tart Cherry Truffle, 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a Cappucino Truffle, and a 2013 Sblam, Late Harvest Sauv Blanc paired with Lemon Zest Truffle. Among these 4 pairings, I would rank the Chardonnay and the Cabernet as my favorites! The flavors of the wine and the chocolate neutralized one another. The Sauv Blanc with Lemon Zest was a little too sweet for my taste buds. And the Mysteriama on its own was tasteful! You can't go wrong with Trinitas. We were helped someone who was very knowledgeable of the wine, pairings and of the area. I defintely recommend this place. Tasting is $20 for 5 wines. I definitely recommend the winery exclusives. This was so fun that we ended up buying 5 bottles from him. We will be defintely enjoying these wines at home. The wines I recommend are their revelation cabs. A must try! This is the place where I finally enjoyed wine tasting. So a year ago, I went to Napa for the first time. Not knowing anything about wine other than liking a not so dry, not so sweet white wine. I know my palette, but I don't know how to speak in vino. I expected to be educated about wine while sipping this one and that one, but nope, not my last trip at another vineyard. I guess I looked too young that I wasn't really acknowledged during the tasting unless I buy a few bottles in the end. Luckily, this small little cellar that was a bit hard to find, since it was in the back of the Meritage. The whole time I thought I was going the wrong way. Anyway, 2 of my girls and I found the cave, made our way to the seats in the far back. We were greeted by Lamar as we scanned through the menu. What caught our eyes was the chocolate/wine tasting combo. Chocolates made by Kollar Chocolates. MMMM.. what a plus! But we came too late that day, they were out of the chocolates, so we settled for a regular tasting each. I'm not sure if they have anymore of the 2012 Chardonnay. It was absolutely delicious! And I'm not a chardonnay drinker myself. It wasn't as dry as the usual, went in quite smoothly. We ended up going back there again the next day just for the chocolate/wine pairing. You get to adventure out with about 2 different wines per piece of chocolate. The experience is quite mindblowing, especially if you're up to adventure out with your palates. read more

I had been to the Meritage Resort many times for breakfast with the girls, spa day and work functions but this is my first time coming into the Trinitas Cellars (right side of the cave across from the spa). Parking is free and you can walk through the hotel to get to the cellar. The Cellar is nice and bright with nick nacks you Can buy throughout the store. It's a standing room for the tasting but there is one seating area at the end of the bar for 4 that we were able to sit at. We each did a tasting of the wine and chocolate pairing for $40. My sister in law said the prices have gone up over the years as it used to be lower for the tasting. Overall great chocolate and great wine. You can buy the chocolate you sample in the cellar as well. When you finish or before your tasting you can walk outside to the top of the cellar where the vineyards are to take pictures or go on a short short stroll. Caution for those in heels as it's a bit steep, we still walked it in our heels for the photo lol. Enjoy! read more

I can't believe I haven't written about Trinitas Cellars -- they should win the award for friendliest service in Napa Valley! Their staff and management, under the warm leadership of their proprietor, Garret Busch, treat both members and visitors just like family -- that's exactly the experience I would like to have when enjoying wine! They are a small and budding winery at the tip of the wine trail behind the Meritage Hotel (under the Grape crusher statue on Hwy 29) -- quite an easy stop to start or end your day in Napa. We usually go towards the end as they are one of those wineries that open late (until 7pm), and we usually catch a game of bowling at the Meritage right after to sober down prior to heading home. Or you could also stay overnight at the Meritage -- members get a 20% discount. You can tour the grounds on your own, or schedule a private tour -- which I recommend. On our first visit here last year, we tried it and got lucky as Garrett himself toured us around the vineyards. We really appreciate his passion as he talks about the vineyards, its history and the hands that sustain it. The family are devout Christians, which explains their quirky naming convention -- some examples: "RatZINger" for the wonderful Zinfandel blend, and "Cabernet FRANCis" -- which was presented to and enjoyed by Pope Francis himself. Went to this wine bar with my bf because this place was open a bit longer compared to wineries and you don't need a reservation. From the yelp reviews we were under the impression that this place was going to be underground but it's under a Vineyard behind the hotel. You have no service in the bar so use their free WiFi! Wine: We got the chocolate and wine which is $30 per person. This set comes with very very small sips of 4 wines and 4 regular sized chocolates. The wine portion compared to the chocolate was very off, I left feeling I paid $30 bucks for 4 pieces of chocolate. The wines were sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, cab and I completely forgot the last one but it was a oaky wine. Service: Quite disappointing experience. Our server did not give us any kind of information about any of the wines. She just repeated everything we already read on the menu then walked away. This is the second time I've been to Trinitas, and it didn't disappoint. Shout out to Kevin who always finds time to make friends with everyone in the room. The wine is as good as the people who serve it. They have a new building now and it's beautiful. There are plenty of wines. My favorite isn't one on any of the testing menus, it's called SBLAM. It's a white dessert wine, and it's like drinking honey. The best wine I have ever drank. There are amazing red and whites. 10/10 would recommend. Also a plus is that they are open until 7, whereas most of the Napa Valley wineries close at 5. I Like that they don't talk you into buying anything and if you don't like something they will help you find something that you do like! Once inside, the Trinitas Tasting Room provided a quiet oasis in which to enjoy the company of good friends over a sampling of delicious reds and whites. Our group was fortunate enough to try Trinitas' recently released 2011 Chardonnay, a crisp, refreshing white, perfect for a warm spring day. As a red aficionado, however, the Mysterium topped my list and is a must-try! Coming from out of town, I wasn't able to bring any bottles home with me, but I am hoping to sign up for the Trinity Club, one of Trinitas Cellars' wine societies, which offers a combination of reds and whites four times a year at a reasonable price (even for a law student like me!) And they ship to Massachusetts - extra bonus! The trip was far too short, but I'm anxiously awaiting my next visit to Trinitas Cellars, hopefully to enjoy the Resort and Spa as well. My gentleman friend and I walked in around 4:45 and were welcomed by Dave, who proceeded to blow us away with his attentive, personable demeanor and knowledge of those most delicious fruits of the vine. He picked up on our shared affection for Cabernet and made recommendations accordingly, eventually leading us to a truly delectable Zinfandel that neither one of us would have ever selected if left to our own devices, of which we purchased a bottle. My 1st experience was back in April 2021 for my husband's bday which was pleasant. Granted it was in the middle of Covid so everything was a lot slower & businesses weren't too busy but all in all, it was basic. There wasn't any special accommodations for birthdays or anything "over the top" so I can't rate our experience all that great. We signed up for the wine club because the wine that we tasted was something we BOTH liked. Mind you, when you sign up for their wine club, there is a fee to cancel early which they don't disclose upfront. They sold it to us by saying we would be accommodated with free tastings every time we visit & get discounts for the spa (which we never received). Trying to plan ahead and book your reservation is almost impossible because you can't get a hold of anyone. Went for the 2nd time & brought a bigger party a couple months later, wasn't greeted & told us that our party was too big & couldn't have the kids sit during the tasting or else they would charge them. (Which I didn't understand why they would charge children to sit for a tasting) so my husband had to go back & forth from the courtyard to the table. Few months later, they sent the wrong wine order to us (which they fixed) but it took a while for us to receive.
