Amazing view and impressive service. The presentation was beautiful, and the wine selection was excellent.

What a calming, stunning experience. We had an incredible time with Kerry - who supplied us with hilarious anecdotes, and an incredible understanding of each bottle that we were trying. Sitting in the glass cabana was for like a better word stunning we had the views of Napa, that people only wish for with bright green, rolling Hills and horses grazing through the vineyards

Loooved lounging on their comfy couch buzzed after a few pours. Comfy table and couch setting with our charcuterie board, name card, glasses and spectacular views. Loved that it's hidden in the hills and wasn't swarming with visitors, so we could relax peacefully minus the noise. It was great that other tasters were spaced out so we didn't have close convos distracting us. That's the appeal of smaller wineries vs. the giants that have everyone packed in like sardines, not comfy at all! Wasn't blown away by any of the wines, but appreciated Mark very much who was very well-spoken and pleasant. He didn't rush us and was very accommodating as I had a wine novice with me visiting Napa for the first time. She enjoyed the semillion and took a bottle home with her. All in all, we had a great time. Just wish it wasn't so hot on that late summer day!

I was looking forward to celebrating a friend's birthday at Shadybrook Estate Winery, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from beginning to end. Our horseback riding reservation was scheduled for 1:00 p.m. We arrived on time with a group of five, but our ride was delayed approximately 30 minutes while staff waited for another reservation--a party of one--that arrived late. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't have minded waiting. However, this was frustrating because during a previous visit, when our group was running late, we called ahead and were told there was absolutely no flexibility. Our ride was completely rescheduled because we were told the 1:00 p.m. ride was the last time slot of the day and they couldn't make other groups wait. It was disappointing to see that policy applied differently when it inconvenienced other guests instead. During the horseback ride itself, there was one staff member leading the group and another following behind. The guide in front shared the history of the winery, but despite riding near the front, I couldn't hear most of what she was saying. If guests are meant to enjoy the educational aspect of the tour, there needs to be a better way for everyone to hear. Additionally, it felt as though much of the staff's attention was focused on the solo rider in our group. They appeared to know her on a first-name basis, and whether they had a prior relationship or were simply trying to make sure she was comfortable, it left the rest of our group feeling overlooked. Unfortunately, the service issues continued during the wine tasting. Before we could begin, our wine consultant insisted that payment had not been made and stated he could not pour any wine until payment was collected. I had already paid in full and ultimately had to log into my bank account and show proof that the transaction had gone through before we could proceed. That was an awkward and unnecessary way to begin the tasting experience. The wines themselves were enjoyable but nothing particularly memorable. At the conclusion, our consultant simply ended the experience without offering a revisit of any of the wines we had tasted--a courtesy that many wineries provide and one we've come to expect during guided tastings. One final disappointment was the lack of any personal touches. I made this reservation months in advance for a birthday celebration and, after reading numerous positive reviews, was excited by the thoughtful details other guests described--such as personalized menus with guests' names at each place setting. Instead, we were given standard menus with no acknowledgment that we were celebrating a special occasion. While this may seem like a small detail, it's those thoughtful touches that often elevate a wine country experience and make guests feel valued. It was disappointing to see that level of hospitality missing, especially after booking so far in advance and reading such glowing reviews The property is beautiful, and the horses were wonderful and appeared well cared for, but the inconsistent customer service, lack of attention to guests, and overall rushed experience left us disappointed. Given the premium price of this experience, I expected much better hospitality and consistency. Unfortunately, I wouldn't choose to return or recommend it based on this visit.

We had a beautiful time on Shadybrook Winery! Our host Luis was fun and personable, and made us feel welcome immediately. I was unaware when booking our reservation that Shadybrook and Rapp Ranch are on the same property, but it made for such a fun tasting; my friend and got to experience one tasting of each (Shadybrook and Rapp). Both tastings were excellent and the cheese plate with our naes on it was just stunning. I did list in our reservation details that one of us was a vegetarian, and they made sure to acknowledge that. The view was stunning and Luis gave us a wonderful lowdown of the property, the climate, the soil, and how they all affect the wines. My friend and I came on a weekday morning so we had the entire place to ourselves, and Luis spent so much time talking with us; we had such a wonderful experience. Thank you, Luis, from these two New York gals :) I would love to come back because they have horseback rides!

My gf and I had a very lovely experience doing wine tasting thanks to our server, Pedro, who was nice and friendly to us. We had a great time at the lounge and we loved the wine and charcuterie. The view was amazing. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning location for a post-wedding wine tasting! Came here to celebrate my cousin and her husband. There was a charcuterie board, a tasting of 5 wines from lightest to richest (white to red), cornhole, and and several standing tables. I wish there was more coverage from the heat and a refill of the charcuterie board, but besides that, no complaints. The staff was nice and open to answering questions about the wine process; you'd have to ask since they're busy attending to everyone's drinks. I really enjoyed their red blend.

Thank you to Kerri for a fun wine tasting experience. We enjoyed her knowledge and personality! The tips she gave us were wonderful. We left feeling so happy with the entire experience. The wine was so yummy we bought a red and white wine!

Spontaneous and romantic place to book and spend a few hours. Service is top notch. 7/8/24

In short, everything was amazing. Food service and ambiance. It was a wee bit of a challenge to find, but that was probably on me. Can't wait to go back.

We enjoyed the horse back riding plus wine tasting experience , a five star experience.! The staff is best, super helpful and friendly. Definitely check this place out for a good time in Napa.

Shadybrook Estate Winery Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Shadybrook Estate Winery

    Are there sweet wines?

Our Shadybrook Estate & Rapp Ranch wines do not have any residual sugar nor would they be considered "sweet". However, they are rich with ripe fruit and have a softer mouthfeel, so they are very juicy and refreshing.…

    Are they pet friendly?

We are unable to accommodate anyone under the age of 21, including infants and children. Pets are not allowed on premises. (Service Animals in Service Vests Approved)

Can you buy a bottle to enjoy the grounds vs a tasting?

I want to say yes you can... but I'm not completely sure. I would call them to ask? They may have different rules. But I do know that we bought a bottle towards the end of our tasting and he did ask if we wanted to open it to enjoy it and we said no.

    Can someone under 21 go?

I would assume yes because they offer horseback riding. I would call first though to confirm.

So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. My husband and I were able to call ahead and schedule a very last-minute tasting, and from the very beginning, the hospitality was exceptional. Steve absolutely nailed it. He welcomed us warmly, shared thoughtful stories about the wines and the winery, and made the experience feel incredibly personal. The tasting room itself is beautiful and feels like a hidden gem in Napa. We especially loved learning about the wines and the woman winemaker behind Levendi. The tasting was stunning from start to finish. What truly sets Levendi apart, though, is the level of hospitality. Since our visit, I have referred many of my favorite clients to Levendi, and Steve consistently goes above and beyond for them. He bends over backwards to make sure my customers are taken care of, and every single person I've sent has come back raving about their experience. The wines range from $25-75 which is not considered over the top in Napa. We enjoy Saxum wines ( $100 to $500) very very occasionally and I would consider that high end , so Vinoce is definitely not on the high end in terms of price nor overpriced for their wines. Fun fact: Our host mentioned that their wines are seen on the TV show series "succession" ... We enjoyed our tasting and especially loved the Pinot and Cabernet. In the downtown Napa area, this spot is really cute. Lots of IG worthy spots to take cute photos…read moreinside. My friends and I came here for the caviar tasting. They did champagne and caviar, but I don't drink, so it was really nice to have the caviar tasting option. They have a chocolate company inside as well, so you can do chocolate tastings or just buy some truffles à la carte. We did the old world caviar tasting which was $125, and you get a .5 oz of 3 types of caviar (I think), and it comes with blinis, crème fraiche, and some Torres chips. Eating the caviar alone will always be my fave, but the sides are a nice touch! Our host (whose name I forget, sorry) was amazing! She knew so much about the caviar, explained everything, and she explained info about the different champagnes to my friends too. The tasting started with bumps of each caviar and tastings of the champagnes with the caviar types. Then we got to eat and drink as we wanted. I think it's totally worth the cost and can't wait to come back for another tasting!

One of the most chic tasting rooms I've been to. So cute and aesthetic! I'd recommend to make a reservation, especially if you are planning to go on the weekend. Our experience was amazing! We did the caviar + wine tasting and the Cabernet + chocolate pairing. We loved it so much we bought few bottles and chocolate to share with friends. Can't wait to go back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
