Ambiance is nice. Food and service had issues, big time. Came on a Saturday night. We sat at the table for ten minutes before anybody even came over to offer us water. We found out later that there was a wedding going on next door, and that wait staff was running back and forth, but nobody told us that for a while and so we were left just feeling like nobody knew we were there. We ordered appetizers and drinks probably 20 minutes in. Appetizers were good (Cajun fritters) and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable when we wandered over to see us what they had since nobody had waited on us. The waiter freely gave his opinion on everything - including things we didn't ask about. The entrees were a different story from the appetizers. We ordered the chicken fry and the blackened redfish. Due to some other big issues, we hadn't eaten at all that day and were famished. So, it was disappointing when the food came out. The chicken fried steak had a pool of grease right in the middle of it. Turned it over to get rid of the grease and the breading just fell off in two big pieces. The steak itself was overcooked and dry. The gravy was tangy and unpleasant. The redfish was a salt bomb. After scraping off the seasoning layer, it was passable. The rice and Cajun sauce were also salt bombs. Once the waiter was told about the chicken fry issue, he never returned to our table. Never refilled our water. Never asked if we wanted another drink. Mr. Full of opinions was mute and nowhere to be found. When we were done, he came back to bring the check and said he took 25% off the price of the steak. Gee thanks. That really restored the quality of the dinner. Not. Anyhow, we were excited to find this place, but we won't be back. read more

I came in based on good reviews but was disappointed. The tables were all full so she asked if I didn't mind sitting at the bar. I said no but then noticed the bar chairs were not gonna be good for my back. I asked if I could sit at the back table that was empty and was told yes. I didn't realize the restaurant was also a coffee bar so it took me a minute to get my thoughts together for what type of coffee I wanted. I ordered a latte and was disappointed when it came in a to go cup. Then I noticed all the other people ordering coffee and I was the only one with a to go cup. I ordered breakfast and then waited. And waited and waited. I was never asked if I wanted more coffee and then I when i asked about not seeing my server, I was told my server must have gotten tied up with a bigger party next door. Just before my food came out, the gnats started. I had avacado toast with bacon, egg, and pancake and water to drink be cause I wasn't asked if I wanted more coffee. I had to ask for salt and pepper as well as Tabasco. I know those are basic breakfast items but she was not going bring me anything if I didnt ask for it. She came by once to check on me and that was after I had pilled all the plates up so she could tell I was finished eating. My food was good so that is what the 3 stars are for. I did see my server interacting with other tables and she was very pleasant with them. I always leave a tip but really struggled with leaving one today. Tried Trinity Street after seeing some excitement in their new concept / restaurant. After reviewing their menus online we decided to give it a try. Their website states they only serve brunch on Sat/Sun (no lunch) which we thought was odd so we called ahead to see if we could also order lunch. We were told the brunch menu was available but they also served some of their lunch items (chicken sandwich, burgers, etc). Well, when we got there first thing we were told is they only serve the brunch menu and nothing else till dinner. Halfway through our brunch we saw a chicken sandwich roll out of the kitchen, so who knows what's up there. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, but the actual service was minimally interactive. We sat at the bar and could see their mock kitchen window, where we noticed food sat for a long time before being run. One of the items we ordered was steak and eggs, to which they ask how you want you steak and how you want your eggs (great right?) well, after they sat on the table in the back for 10 min (before someone from the kitchen came to convince someone to run the food) the eggs were almost hard and the steak was room temp at best. It's a small place with plenty of staff. No excuse for nearly every plate that hits the table to sit for so long. Overall, it wasn't an awful experience by any means, but it seems like they're under a bit of an identity crisis that reflected in the experience. I know they're fairly new to the restaurant side, so we will try again sometime and reevaluate. No lunch on the weekend is just weird though. read more

What is an absolute must in the morning? Caffeine! Glenda and I were in Decatur just driving around seeing the sights. Starting to drag you say? Caffeine! We stopped at Trinity Street because it's local. No thanks to the overpriced chain. Several people were inside just enjoying the morning. Glenda got something cold and creamy. Regular old coffee for me, but it was some gooood coffee. Right across the street from the county courthouse, so we relaxed for a few minutes while Glenda took pictures of the courthouse. Trinity of course has some baked goods and they also do sandwiches for lunch. A great little place that's worth stopping by. Wow. It's already time for more caffeine! read more

Thank you for serving your FANTASTIC brew of coffee today at Alliance Community Fellowship for their "An Unexpected Christmas" musical! I was BLOWN away by the actual taste of the coffee. I ordered a black coffee with almond milk creamer, not really expecting much. However, when I took that first sip I literally took another sip, swirled it around in my mouth and was shook! It has the bold flavor but not the sour/acidic aftertaste of most chain coffees. I wasn't even planning on drinking my whole cup this late in the afternoon, but OMG I did haha! It was truly delicious to the last drop and now, I need to make the drive to the shop and order more! We really love coming out to Trinity street coffee. We are about 25 minutes away and feel the drive it worth it to hang out for a little while, drink yummy coffee, and eat. During the fall, they had a yam spice coffee that I can't remember the name to but it was so good! The staff is always friendly and the vibe there is pretty comfy. I saw online that they would be closing the restaurant section and that hurts my chicken sandwich loving heart but keep making such delicious cozy coffee and we will keep coming back! read more

I wish I could review this separately bc we like the coffee side! I really wanted this to work when they reopened the restaurant but it is still sorely lacking. My husband and I enjoy good food and don't mind paying for it - Decatur needs something like this however we were so disappointed. For $20-$45 entrees (not including sides) I expect waitstaff to tell me about specials, talk about wine pairings and try to upsell alcohol, appetizers and desserts. Simply asking "can I start you guys off with an appetizer", etc is not cutting it for fine-dining. IMO, the service was no better than what you get for almost half the price elsewhere. My husband ordered cheese grits as a side and they were topped with bagged shredded cheddar cheese. You could feel the anti-caking agent that comes on pre-shredded cheese all over your palette with every bite. I ordered a pasta dish and the onions were all different sizes and not cooked down enough and the oyster mushrooms were either jarred or canned - definitely not fresh. The sandwiches with French fries we saw on other tables looked good so that is probably a safe choice if you're going, but if you're looking for a nice date or special occasion, I'd go elsewhere. read more

The service was wonderful our waiter, Jacob, was kind and attentive. Pleasant atmosphere. Our food itself is what made the experience not a 4/5 star rating. We tried the French Hen and a couple of sides of fruit. The French Hen wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The chipotle honey glaze was more so a hot and spicy barbecue sauce covering the entirety of the plate. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Our fruit cups looked as if they had seen better days not so fresh, apples were browning. The grapes were fine though it might have been a food prep dilemma. What a delightful surprise! My family took me there for my birthday last Saturday! I absolutely loved it! We went there for brunch and mine was FABULOUS! I ordered the steak and eggs and the picture does not do it justice. My husband does a good job with steaks and the steak I ordered was absolutely delicious. I think it was prime sirloin which was grilled with garlic butter, and it was a perfect medium rare. I cannot tell you how good it was! Also, my eggs were cooked very well and I enjoyed it immensely. Because I was trying to cut back on the bread, I ordered the fresh fruit and surprisingly it was delicious also. I don't know how to describe it, it was just wonderful! My husband ordered the "Morning Burger." He said he would give it a five 5 and truly enjoyed it! He said the egg and the burger were perfectly cooked and was seasoned well. He also said their french fries were great! He said they were lightly battered and very flavorful. Much to my surprise, the waitress asked me could she bring me a piece of pumpkin cheesecake for my birthday. I accepted and what an absolutely delicious piece of cheesecake that was! I asked for spoons for everyone so I could share it, and I would also give that a five 5 tooand I'm not even a pumpkin lover! My granddaughter enjoyed it, my husband enjoyed it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it also. Kayla was our waitress and she made us feel very welcome and valued as customers. She was attentive and personable and made our dining experience there that much better. I definitely feel we'll go there again and I'm so glad we discovered this treasure! We hadn't eaten there in quite some time because they quit serving food for a period of time, but when my family found out, they had opened it again and were serving brunch, we decided to go. What an amazing find! Loved everything about this place. Stopped in while passing through town and was just shocked at how trendy this spot is! Great merch, cool atmosphere, and a diverse menu. Really loved the options they had with very unique coffee drinks. They also had food but we only got coffee to go. I ordered a hot mocha and it was very smooth and exactly what I want from a mocha. My husband got one of their speciality drinks, a bourbon and vanilla latte. It was very flavor and he enjoyed it a lot. We were both super impressed and we are a bit of coffee snobs. Pretty obsessed with this place but I live no where close by so it was definitely a treat and I look forward to the day that I get to go back!The fact that this place is tucked away in a small town off of a random exit I would never have known. One of their signature coffee drinks, "The World's Best Cup of Coffee" is a delicious and unique concoction that you've got to try. The bartenders here are friendly and definitely know what they're doing. Don't waste your time ordering a beer or a glass of wine, get a real drink and enjoy the awesome cocktails they can craft. The shot came with a small glass of sparkling water, which was a refreshing surprise! In terms of COVID precautions, very clean and all employees wore masks. We felt very safe! Decatur Square is anchored by the impressive Wise County Courthouse, built of pink granite in 1896 with castle-style architecture evoking "Game Of Thrones" theme song in your mind. Got Dragons? This district of shoppes, boutiques, and eateries is at junction of Hwy 380, and the U.S. Route 287 that takes you to Amarillo. I got here after exiting 287, and finding only 1 solitary Starbucks in Decatur, with drive-thru 15 deep in customers. Google Maps revealed Trinity Street Coffee Bar nearby, I saddled-up on over. Lucked-out on parking, it was New Year's Day. The courthouse building is quite a sight to behold, then I walked by Rooster's Roadhouse BBQ / Bar and that place was quite lively! Trinity Street Coffee Bar ( TSCB ) is close to Rooster's. Nice older renovated brick building with generous customer seating. Staff greeted me warmly. Majority of the crowd drank coffee it seemed, though a wall display of liquor bottles dominated visually. I drink black coffee, so I appreciate low acidity blends. TSCB provided a great tasting cup of java. The hummingbird bread slice was dried-out... but I dunked it in my coffee to revive it. Same with the vanilla scone. I was too road-weary to complain as I sank into a soft vintage couch in the "living room" seating in far back. Mellow overhead music was perfect. Restrooms were fantastic retro creations, representative of Decatur Square theme. Good solo visit here, with eclectic mixed crowd evoking "I Love This Bar" song. And if I lived closer, I probably would love TSCB! read more

I've been here 3-4 times now so overdue for a review. Decatur is a nice 30-45 minute motorcycle ride from home, which makes it a nice place to stop and grab coffee on a morning ride. Trinity Street Coffee Bar is one my favorite places to get coffee. If they were located close to home, I would be a daily regular. It would be where I spent the majority of the day working. The single biggest bummer for me abut Trinity Street Coffee Bar is the Bar part. I only come to Decatur on my motorcycle, so drinking alcohol isn't an option. But their bar...it's such a cool bar. The bourbon selection is extensive. I've seen them make a drink (did an afternoon run once) and they make them the right way. They're serious mixologists. But, it's way too far to take an Uber for a night of classic drinks. So, go for the coffee for sure, but count yourself lucky if you live close enough to enjoy the bar as well. read more

This delectable place is a second home to us. Any given day, any given whiskey bro will be ponied up to the bar exploring the vast ever growing selection of fine spirits. Most days will find most whiskey bros there. The baristas are artists in the ways of coffee and their cocktails surpass that art and are totally creative, although they have mastered the old favorites also. I recall a time sitting at an unnamed bar on Bourbon st sipping on a sazerac thinking it was better at Trinity st. The decor is contemporary rustic down to the golden swan water spouts in the bathroom. Drinks are moderately priced but the quality far exceeds high end establishments. Staff are always accommodating and willing get creative when challenged. Many a date night we have found ourselves at this place only to find that our other friends did the same. read more

A series of fortunate events brought me here, and I found this place. My only regret is that I fell in love with it, and I may never return simply due to distance. This place is so welcoming, on the square across from the courthouse. The staff is equally as welcoming. The fixtures have a new rustic look, and the space is ample. It has that just right vibe for getting some work done, or some play. It has all the fixtures and facets of a family owned town square coffee shop, but also an incredible full bar that features a Happy Hour specials. During a certain time each day they have $6 select mixed drinks. In my time there I had a black coffee, which was smooth and served in a branded ceramic mug. I also had an Old Fashioned, which came in a nice highball glass, with the sphere ice cube. For the Happy Hour I didn't expect any say, but he asked "Rye or Bourbon?" I was so thankful for that. On the way out I snagged a mug from the little shelf of branded products they have (shirts, hoodies, cups, barista accessories) and noticed that they also sell cigars and pastries. While they don't have a kitchen, you can order food from Rooster's Roadhouse that will be brought over. I REALLY wish that this place was closer. If you are passing through, or live nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. read more
