Friday night fish is awesome. If going at dinner time, expect a pretty good wait line but well worth the wait.

Been in this area 30 years and never stopped because it is a gas station. Whoever thought they had a restaurant and a meat market inside. Very friendly welcome when we walked in the door. The nice lady at the counter walked us through the process and explained the menu. In order the fish and shrimp combo with tater tots and it came with a "salad bar" and pinto beans. The salad was really fixings for a sandwich or burger and some sauces. My Wife ordered their famous cheeseburger that appears to have won "Best Burger" many times by the plaques on the wall, and their onions rings. Everything is made fresh so we waited about 15 minutes while sitting in the dining room with a great view of Lake Bridgeport. Food was delivered and it looked great and smelled good. My fish was crispy, with a cornmeal batter that was seasoned very elk and it tasted GREAT! The shrimp has a panko breading that was crispy and cured my craving for fried shrimp.Tots nice and crispy, maybe just a little too crispy, but they were very good. Large portions for sure. Our appetizer was a jalapeño sausage, wrapped in bacon and topped with melted cheese. Wow! Excellent pop, not too spicy and the flavors melded great together. The cheeseburger was a short rib grind burger patty, thick and full size. Taste was excellent but the firm texture of the short rib meat may surprise you. The star of the burger was the bun; jalapeño bread reminiscent of a Shlotskys sandwich bread but nice and soft. I could eat just an order of those buns. Overall food 5 stars. The dining room a solid 4 stars as it is showing it's age but we will visit again the get of their great, well priced food. read more

Service depends on who is working that day. No prices on merchandise so I think they charge different prices if they know you or not.regardless over priced. The meat market is a gamble if you get fresh meat or met that has been sitting g for a while. read more

What a wonderful find!  The front of this place clearly caters to the lake crowd... I mean, it's literally Beer, Bait and Ammo (I think)... actually, I don't think there's ammo.  However, there's a fresh meat market that's pretty impressive!  You are grilling around the lake, I would definitely stop here! However, what makes it awesome is the restaurant in the back.  Great greasy burgers, jalapeno buns and a view of the lake!  You walk in, past the shopping zone, past the bait, and stop right before the salad cart... and order at the counter.  If you haven't been here, they are super helpful and will guide you through the menu above their heads... and tell you what the specials are (catfish?).  Go grab a drink from the cooler, and go sit down in the dining room!  BTW, this place would be great for medium size get togethers and Christmas parties! Worst POS place I've ever been to . I've been in 3 times and never could get anyone to ring me up. I just ended up walking out. My grandson and daughter said the same thing. The place is run down and filthy. I can't even imagine how filthy the kitchen is. People actually eat that greasy mess is the shocking part. I want to suggest to them to dust off the drinks and candy bars but I can't because I won't return. read more

I've driven past this place 100+ times in Hwy 380 and never knew what I was missing...until today. My wife and I decided to take a motorcycle ride out to Runaway Bay and of course lunch was the deciding factor on where we stopped. Thankfully I leaned on Yelp to help decide our designation. Well today was another success. From the outside it doesn't look like much but don't let that fool you. Inside is a fresh meat market (steaks, sausages, hamburger meat fresh ground) and then a grille that seems to cook about anything. We started with a jalapeño and cheese sausage to warm us up after we ordered. WOW!! Even though it was sitting in a warmer it tasted so %#!?&/! Good! Oh menus??? No such thing. Just suggestions. Better bring your appetite too. So I ordered a double patty bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. My wife a single cheeseburger and fries. It took about 15 minutes so j no or long at all. The onion rings were not homemade but didn't even bother me. They were still good. The burger though.....OMG a ton of tastiness in every bite. Great bun that wasn't too much bread and didn't fall apart either. That meat was incredible though. Fresh vegetables on it too! My wife thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. Then there's the pecan cheesecake after. We literally had to sit for 15 minutes to make room. Did I mention room they homemake them? You could tell by the looks and then even more so by the taste! I love this local gas station & eatery. Favorite thing is to call in an order for a cheeseburger on their jalapeño bun. Add onion rings or fries (both are good; I can never decide). Besides fuel one stop has a little bit of everything you need. Plus they have an amazing fresh meat department. I know sounds weird to someone who's not from the area but their meats are great and they'll actually cook your meat for you and you can sit in their back restaurant area and eat! They also have dinner every night with a rotating menu. It's so good and the people are so incredibly nice there. read more

Great hidden gem of a stop while traveling through on hwy 380! It seems to be more of a meat market/convenient store - but they cook up some amazing burgers, too! When we stopped on Sunday, we ordered burgers before realizing they also had a Sunday bunch buffet around the corner. Simple stuff - but looked yummy! We had burgers cooked to order on jalapeño bread with hand cut fries and onion rings. So so good. And everyone working there was so nice! While we stopped for lunch and drinks for the road, the meat counter had some of the most amazing looking steaks, I couldn't resist getting a couple 24oz ribeyes. They even wrapped them up and put them on ice for us for our drive home. (They're in the grill as I write this!!) I would recommend this stop for someone looking for meat or burgers. read more

We went for the prime rib. It was delicious and cooked perfectly, medium rare. The baked potato was awesome and the salad bar. The veggies were soggy and overcooked, no flavor. The horseradish was not spicy. Overall a really good meal for 20 bucks. The employees are the nicest ever! read more

We tried 1 Stop for the first time tonight. The Special was prime rib, baked potato, broccoli and a salad bar. The prime rib is available in either 8 oz or 12oz. Ordering is done at the counter, then the food is brought to your table. We were very impressed with the food, the prime rib was tender and had great flavor. The baked potato was loaded and cooked perfectly. Broccoli also cooked perfectly. There was also pie available, but we had not saved room for dessert. We will definitely be returning! read more

Five stars on Yelp. I had to try this place. Takes a little figuring out where things are and there are no menus other than the nightly specials and one lunch special. Nice display of sandwiches, sausages, and chicken wings. Ordered a cheese burger on a Jalapeño bun and hand cut fries. Grabbed a coke from the cooler and sat down to wait. Lunch specials (pork chops) flew out of kitchen but a hamburger took 20 minutes. Flavor of the burger was ok (great meat) but the patty was to thin and over cooked to the point it was dry. So sad. Fries stole the show and were fresh cut and not greasy. Tried a piece of apple pie for dessert. Also good but came up short on flavor. So after $16 bucks I'm a little disappointed. FYI-Pork chops looked very large and salads from the salad bar looked very fresh. I'll be back for another try. read more

There is a Monster of a Bear outside to greet you and Inside is something of a treat. I go there for lunch or dinner and always a special on the board. I LIKE the "Hot Burger" Spicy Jalapeno burger on a Jalapeno bun w/cheese & bacon,grilled onions & jalapenos,veggies and real fries. Pie shelf has(Real Homemade) pies and the Key Lime won't stay on the shelf.(If you get there after me I bought the whole pie). LOL However, they are a meat market as well. You can get a fresh thick cut steak like the burger and other country meats. Friday night they have a big pot of beans (made the night before) and lucky if you get some. Fried fish cooked like moms but much better than my Moms....Mmm good. They are increasing the restaurant footage to look out over the lake. Go by and tell Linda and Herman, Chuck sent you..... It won't get you a freebie or anything but they'll be glad to see you. The Mayor hangs out there so if you're lucky you will get to shake hands with him. Just don't bother him if he is eating. It's Nice Place and Not so loud like some Grills. You can actually have a conversation without YELLING. The women are really nice and do their best to make you feel at home.
