Located on the south end of Salem is what I like to call the winery triangle. Willamette Valley Vineyards, Sass, St Innocent Ankeny, Coria, and Trinity are all within a 7 mile radius. A lot of people gravitate to Dayton and McMinnville. However, there are a lot of great wineries out South. My favorite is Trinity Vineyards. I love the cozy atmosphere as opposed to the cowded tourist wineries. Plus, they have great live music every weekend. Trinity has recently added Friday evening happy hour, and also, their newest addition is a fantastic farm to table food truck that Cindy Parker has mastered the fine art of food fushion. Steve, the owner, clearly was a lover of music, and treated us with a warm welcome... this man even helped us sound check and knew the sign language to assist us setting levels. incredible. Samantha, the bartender/hostess was warm, attentive and took great care of us. The stage was beautiful, powered properly, and had decent cover. As a performer, I'd highly recommend playing here. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. Attempted to go for a friends birthday, we had reservations which were made online for 11:45. Arrived at 11:43 to be told they did not open until 12. How can you make an online reservation for a time they are not open? The person then told us maybe we should drive down the road to a different winery and return after they opened. Well we did leave and go to other winery where they greeted us with open arms. We never returned to Trinity. Very upsetting read more

We have been drinking Trinity wines for several years but had never been to the Vineyards until last night. We went out to listen to music and had a fantastic time! The wine was wonderful and the outdoor venue has a beautiful view. There are tables or you can bring your own chair or blanket and several fire pits which were lit when the sun went down and it got cool. They had a food truck available serving wood fired pizzas and besides their wine had beer and cider for sale. The winery owner, Steve, was a terrific host- personable, welcoming, friendly and charming! I can't wait to go back! read more

We booked space at Trinity Vineyards to see the solar eclipse last month. We had no idea what good wine, food, and conviviality this great little vineyard offered. From their beautiful, spacious patio we relaxed and witnessed that spectacular event, accompanied by one of their delicious Pinot Noirs and a truly elegant brunch hand-prepared by the wife of the proprietor. Being there added immeasurably to the fun and excitement of that day. And to top it off was the hospitable and gracious reaching out to all guests by the owner and his wife. Similar experience to what another Reviewer said, their website and hours on yelp were not clear. So, I called and left a voicemail with a request to call me back to confirm hours. I never got a call, but it was on the way to a couple other wineries in the area so we decided to check it out. The site is very intimate, and lovely. It is surrounded by grapes, and they have a beautiful space, with tables for tasting outside on the grass as well as upstairs in patio/deck area, and even more seating inside the actual tasting room. We went today, the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, which is a big Wine-Tasting Holiday. So, I'm not sure how much was for the event vs. what they would have regularly. Regardless, we were treated with 10 wines to taste, 9 from the bottle and one barrel tasting! And, we got an individual charcuterie plate with food paired to different wines on the flight. (I broke the rules, and ate out of sequence, as a lot of people did in my group. But, it was still really nice! and the food was delicious!) Ironically, my favorite wines were the ones with the sourced grapes off-site, from the Columbia Valley Region/by the Bridge of the Gods. Those were the ones that really stood out to me, the Viognier, the Grenache and the Sangiovese (the barrel tasting!). I have not researched this statement that I'm about to make, but I believe it is a newer winery, maybe established in 2014 or so, and the grapes near the estate looked kinda young as well, so that probably effects the taste of their wines. But, overall, the estate was great, the people were very friendly and helpful! read more

I called twice today to find out if they were open to the public. Both times I got voicemail. We arrived with our group of girls and were told by one staff member that we couldn't do a tasting but were able to purchase bottles of wine and sit on their deck. We were happy with that. We all got out of our cars and our drivers left. We went to the tasting room and we were quickly turned away because they were only allowing wine club members in. Seems like they should have handled the situation differently instead of just kicking us out. Maybe we would have wanted to join the wine club. We belong to several others in the area. Trinity Vineyards is a fantastic boutique winery in South Salem. The wines are extremely well made and offer unique varieties not often found in the Willamette Valley as well as great Pinot Noir. The PetNat is a must try! The grounds are intimate and beautiful. During the summer they great music events. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and responsive. The owners are so nice and always willing to spend time with their customers. Great place and great wine! read more

I was in town for the Albany Holiday Bazaar (good show), had a few hours to myself, so I looked up local wineries. I chose Trinity because they listed a couple other wines besides the regional favorite, Pinot Noir. I've long had disdain for Pinot, but since I was here (and it was available by default on the tasting menu), I gave it a try. Prior to pouring, I informed Lisa (or Theresa?) and the winemaker of my current status regarding pinot. They ran through their usual menu, paired with light snacks, starting with a Pinot Blanc, then a Pinot Gris, a Pinot Rose' (there really is no way of getting around the grape in Willamette Valley - all of these tastes were fresh, crisp and notable) and then with a grin, Steve poured a pure Pinot Noir. I braced myself for a mouth full of ash & grit. WAIT! My taste buds were delighted with a bit of spice, some red fruit and a slow turn to toasty earth. Next was another vintage pinot and because he was so proud to convert my pension for pinot, he poured an 09 Pinot that had big cherry and a lingering finish. Needless to say, after entertaining conversation, a comfortable tasting room atmosphere and fellow friendly tasters, I left with a case of pinot and a new perspective for the Willamette Valley golden child.
