I have had four appointments here. Friendly service, for sure. But the last two appointments were a disaster. They scheduled me wrong--for a bang trim--so I had to be bumped to another stylist, wait 20 minutes and then pay EXTRA for her to cut my hair because she was a different level. Today I had an appointment, they called only 15 minutes ahead (I live out of town, already on my way there) to say she was running late. I said I was on my way. Told they would have someone else start me, only to arrive and it was going to be more of a wait. I left, although the receptionist said she was trying to get me into a massage while I waited. I love going to Trios! It's like a "Mom's Day Out" for me. First, the look of the salon is modern and clean. The staff is friendly and offers me water while I wait. I get my hair done with Faith and she always does a great job. She tells me what would look best and I feel so beautiful by the time I leave. While your color is processing you get a great hand massage and the scalp massage you get when they wash your hair is absolutely wonderful. If I could give them zero stars I would. I went in to get simple highlights and a cut. I went with a level 2 stylist to be safe but it wasn't safe at all. I was adamant about getting brown highlights and told the stylist that I absolutely did not want blonde highlights. She assured me that they would come out as brown--but low and behold I left with trashy beach BLONDE streaks I'm my hair and they were so far from roots that it looked like I had got them weeks ago. I got home and looked at my hair in different light and noticed that one piece of my hair was so blonde that it looked white! So I went back to have the same girl fix it and all she did was quickly cover my entire head with dark toner, dying all of my hair a dark blackish-brown!!! I asked for my $145 dollars to be refunded to me and they absolutely refused saying that I "asked for a Jennifer Aniston look and that is what I got". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Bottom line: DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! THEY'RE OVERPRICED AND WILL MESS UP YOUR HAIR. read more

I wear my hair everyday and I LOVE IT!!!! Stefani Timmermeyer is my stylist and she makes me feel beautiful. I love all the spa treatments with scented oils, message and TLC that comes with my haircut, plus she always takes time to talk to me about what I want and how I am feeling about my hair. I love the Aveda products, I feel so safe using products that I know are made with so many natural ingredients. They take extra care with my health and our natural resources. I know it is more expensive, but like I said I wear my hair everyday!!! I would recommend Trios with 5 stars and think you should ask for Stefani. Their staff is very knowledgable and they strive to give customers exactly what they want. Everyone is always friendly, warm and welcoming. My experience with Trios is ALWAYS extremely positive. It starts at the front desk...when I walk in I am greeted by anyone and everyone who is behind the reception desk. It makes me feel very welcome and appreciated. Primarily I visit Trios for manicures/pedicures and Amber is beyond wonderful. She is skilled and efficient in the way she does my nails, but one of the best things about the experience is her friendliness and pleasantness. Of course, I am her favorite client...just kidding, of course! But that is the way she makes me feel...like you are her only and best client. Joe and Karen (the owners) are present and visible which lets me know they are truly committed to the business and its success as well as to the staff and clients. Everyone I see at Trios is treated with dignity and respect...when getting a manicure, I sit and face the stylists interact with their clients and see positive results time after time. I am in Trios probably 2-3 times a month and feel confident the staff is truly there to calm you and make you feel better, which will ultimately help you look better, with the services they offer. read more

I have been going to Trios for quite a few years--I am surprised at the negative reviews, but I guess some people are just hard to please (in a bad way.) Ashley does fantastic color--she always makes sure you get it just the say you want it. I bring in new cuts for her all the time (I like to change a lot) and she is always good at studying, even asking if necessary, so she can get the cut "just right!" I always leave looking great! I change my color a lot, too, so I'm super picky. Thanks, Ashley!! As far as the reviewer who complained about not being able to bring her brood of children, well, DUH. People come to a spa/salon not just for the cut/color, but for the *experience.* I have children, and I wouldn't dream of bringing them in while others are trying to relax and just escape from daily pressures. Besides, there are a lot of breakables there. (I just experienced someone accidentally break a glass bowl there--not very safe for kids, in my opinion.) read more

Aveda Color products should not be used at this salon for the perfect reason a well-known product carries the following truth if correctly mixed and applied not true to the disappointment of a hair coloring done 7/23 by the third day the color faded as well as the results were drying. I have been an Aveda color client for about 5 years at a different location and unfortunately they no longer an Aveda Salon. Today is 8/1 and I was told not only by the stylist Theresa but the manager that my color did not fade it is new grown in three days but I was told to come into so they can see what went wrong, no accountability that the process went wrong, instead I received the poorest customer service as well as a judgement call. I was hoping I found my local "Aveda Salon" that stands by Aveda products instead they allowed me to work away dissatisfied and disappointed by this Salon. I will definitely send the corporation Aveda my review as well they are not representing a great product! Never had a problem with the salon or the welcoming area. The staff tries to match each client with a stylist to best suit their needs. So far every cut and style has turned out well and receives flattering compliments. The spa area is hit or miss. Did the massage thing once and was not very pleased with the results. Felt worse off and oily after (No steam shower option). Save the money and go somewhere else. The nail services are better than the massages. Very relaxing and fun technicians to have a conversation with. Results are great too. read more

From Amber and Lauren on the mani/pedi crew to the spa (love the massages and facials), to Karen, who performs magic with my short, thin hair, I feel great every time I walk in the door of this place. The front desk people often remember my name, and it's clear that they value me as a person and a customer. Their location is convenient on South College, and parking is abundant. Theresa did an awesome job with my hair but I felt like I had been deceived on the price quoted over the phone. I specifically asked for a stylist who charges $35 for his/her cut. They said that would be the charge but Theresa went up a level two days before I was there. That meant her cuts would be $45. Even though I was quoted $35 I had to pay $45. I'm retired and on a limited budget so this was very disappointing to me. I have been to Aveda salons for years and totally understand the levels that the employees pursue. read more

My current stylist, Stacey, is a fantastic colorist and one of those rare people who will give you honest feedback on styles that really fit you. Amber is just wonderful for pedicures. And Lauren has saved my back and shoulders with the best massage. The front desk women are professional, cheerful, and skilled at keeping everything running smoothly. I would give it 5, but I have to compare it to the old location, which I understand was a bit more out of the way, but I loved it more... It was just more spacious and spa like. In all, I am pleased with all of the services I have received. I adore my stylists. The only downers is they charge you, if you miss an appointment without a 24 hour notice (yuck) and the front staff often makes mistakes, when charging you and are not very knowledgeable about the Aveda products. read more

The hot stone massage is so amazing and the pedis are my favorite in town. If a good friend didn't cut my hair in another salon in Fort Collins, then I would get it done here. After rushing from work and then to pick up kids from summer camp, I arrived for my cut and color and was turned away because my children were with me. They were set to sit quietly with their iPads while I got my services and no one would have noticed they were there. They aren't toddlers. These are kids that will sit and read a book or watch a movie. To make it worse, the young manager that turned me away did not appear to have any clue what it might be like to be a working mom and wasn't old enough to have gray hair. I also had cancelled an earlier apt when I could have been without my kids because they were trying to accommodate an additional service. I let my stylist know that we/kids and I, would be coming ahead of time so they could have told me ahead of time. Now I will head off for vacation without my cut/color. Won't be going back. It's not like this place has any kind of a spa environment so it's a bit ridiculous that they would behave that way. This place has an over inflated view of their offering. I've been an Aveda salon customer for long periods of time in different Charlotte, Delray Beach, Wi and NJ locations - this salon is the least Aveda of them all. read more

I am a man with short hair. That shouldn't be a difficult haircut to give. However even after continuing to ask for my stylist to cut it shorter I was left with a haircut that was horrible. 2 and a half weeks later and it's already needing to be cut again. I normally can make it 5 weeks in between haircuts. If they can't even get a male haircut right I wouldn't trust them with any cut. read more

This place is so nice and high class so I'm disappointed that I have to say anything negative. I came here several weeks ago mainly for a shellac manicure. 100% of my reason for wanting shellac on my nails was to protect them so they would grow to a decent length and quit tearing all the way down to the quick like they always do. I discussed my reason for wanting the shellac over the phone prior to making the appointment. I had my eyebrows waxed right before the manicure and I was very pleased with that service. I never expect a waxing to be pain free, but it was the only completely pain-free wax I've ever had! My problem is with the shellac manicure. It's supposed to last several weeks but it started coming off after only three days!!!! It kept peeling off and I kept trying to repair it with super glue. Shortly after the polish came off, my nails snagged and tore as well. I called approximately a week later and asked if I could get a full or partial refund or a credit for a future service, and the nail tech just told me that she believed the reason the shellac failed was due to the fact my nails were so thin and unhealthy. At first I kinda thought well that's my problem, but then recently my husband pointed out how if that was a known issue then she should have said that prior to placing the shellac. In many professions if a customer/patient asks for a service that you as the professional know is not in their best interest, it's your job to refuse the service or at least warn the potential client prior to performing the service. They served me delicious tea for free while I was having my nails done. I bought a box of tea bags, the same tea they served me, to brew at home. The tea is absolutely delicious and heavenly. So I came away with a good brow wax and delicious tea, but I completely wasted $45 PLUS a good tip on a completely worthless manicure. read more

I scheduled a trim and flat iron for my daughter's thick, curly hair with a stylist she's seen a couple times before with great results. The cut ended up being uneven so I called and scheduled another visit so it could be fixed. The salon called me a couple of days later and said I needed to make sure my daughter's hair was straightened before her appointment! "Excuse me?! Then cut it right the first time!" The day her hair is to be fixed arrives and her stylist leaves early because she's not feeling well, so another stylist took the appointment. Our appointment was for 5:30 - my daughter didn't get into the stylist's chair until 5:50 and it took 40 minutes to "fix" this trim AND IT STILL WASN'T RIGHT! I ended up having another stylist (not at Trios) fix her still uneven hair! I called and cancelled our future appointment in January and the receptionist wasn't phased at all when I told her I didn't want to re-schedule because we wouldn't be back to their salon. Sounds like she may experience those phone calls a lot. read more

Trios is a nice place to get a hair cut or a your hair colored. It seems to be a plodding along sort of place with not much excitement or creativity with the stylists. Their eduction as far as future and upcoming trended is limited to their current knowledge. If you are looking for a place to get a standard cut or color this is a good place to go. A bit pricy for what you get though. read more

I've been supporting Trios since it opened. I've found the stylists to be friendly & up-to-date in fashion & style. There are different levels of stylists which gives the customers some wiggle room if needed financially. The new location is more modern looking and is bigger than it looks from the outside. read more

Regarding Joe D's response to John G: I've been to your salon three times and have never once been told that children are not allowed at the salon. I still have a voicemail on my phone from my Dec appt. I just listened to it and there is no mention of this policy. And there IS a way to convey this information in a thoughtful, kind way. The employees can apologize for the inconvenience, and show empathy rather than annoyance. I went to another salon only once because I received a similar reaction when I took my daughter with me, who was ten at the time and not at all at the age where there is need to worry about her "getting into things." I never went back there either and so completely understand John's sentiments. The response to John was not at all empathetic and just drove home the "here's why you were in the wrong" attitude he got from reception and the stylist. I received similar treatment from front desk staff for a separate issue. My stylist is WONDERFUL though and so I will continue to go there because I can put aside the other stuff. read more
