Several campers had repeatedly called KOA Corporate and they absolutely do not care at all, and would only tell people to talk to the campground manager. The County won't do anything either. I made a fairly last minute decision to camp here on my way back to Nashville since:…read more-it's conveniently close to I-40 -had availability -I had a coupon -familiarity with the area -somewhat close to the AT This seasonal campground offers RV sites, camping cabins, and tent sites for rent, and amenities include a camp store, a nice bathhouse, laundry facilities, an in-ground pool, sand volleyball court, playground, pavilion, river access, free WiFi, and is dog friendly. (There's also a rafting company on site on the other side of the property.) On the day of my reservation, I received a call from one of staff advising they were closing the office/store a little early, and gave instructions on the self check-in process which was seamless. Since I didn't have the full catalogue of camping gear in tow, I reserved a camping cabin. These cabins face the Pigeon River, have two windows, electricity, four bunk beds (three twin, one double -- but bring your own bedding since it's not provided), a table and bar stool, a heat/air unit, a mini fridge, a microwave, and a broom and dustpan. On the porch outside I found two chairs and a small table. Directly in front of the cabin (which is the side that faces the river) are a grill and fire ring. I was able to park my vehicle next to the steps leading up into the cabin. Just a short walk away in the bathhouse, each of the bathrooms requires a code for entry. I counted six of them, three of which I had access to via my code, but there may be more elsewhere. Each of three I saw were equipped with a flushing toilet, toilet paper, a sink, mirror, hand soap, hand towels, a bench, and a tiled shower. It's your own private, fully functional bathroom (when you're using it, that is). Bring your own towels and toiletries, and you're set! Oh yeah! This is glamping for sure! The one immediate drawback I noted was the interstate noise. 40 is right there, and loud. Inside the cabin with the air unit fan running, I couldn't hear it very much, but outside...ugh. The second thing I was surprised about was the office/store. I read they're open everyday from 0800-1700. I totally get closing early in the afternoon, but the office/store literally was not opened at all during my entire visit. I was disappointed. Fortunately, there's another store nearby where I was able to procure firewood. I like this place a lot aside from the two above-mentioned items, and I would consider camping here again despite them...especially for the right price.

Each site has a fire pit and a metal picnic table. There are "glamping" cabins. There are plenty dumpsters around. There are two bathhouses and a coin laundry. $3 for a wash and there is a change machine. The dryers are 25 cents for six minutes. There is an arcade for the kids and you can spy on them via the cable TV. Plus you can walk to a pancake house.

Greenbrier Campground is fantastic in so many ways and absolutely deserves to be enjoyed by everyone. We rented the deluxe cabin that sleeps 4, which has a wraparound porch overlooking the river, plus a fire pit and grill. There are chairs everywhere--two on the side porch, two with a table on the front porch for morning coffee with a view, and five Adirondacks around the fire pit. The cabin itself is newly built and really sturdy, more like a tiny home. Inside you'll find a couch, a dining table with bench seating, and a kitchen with a 2-stool peninsula. The kitchen is fully stocked: plates, cups, bowls, silverware, pots and pans, can opener, toaster--you name it. A skinny staircase leads up to the loft, which is about 36" at the highest point before the beams. It has an outlet, light switch, windows on each side, and two firm twin foam mattresses. Surprisingly comfy--and super fun for kids. Our 3-year-old loved it. The bathroom was spotless with great storage between the counter and medicine cabinet, and the shower was a good size. The master bedroom has a Fire TV, tons of shelving, and plenty of outlets. As for the amenities: you get river access, a game room, and a playground. It's also very dog-friendly, with poop stations and a dog run, which we appreciated. What really stands out? * Service: The staff are incredible and make you feel right at home. * Upkeep: They genuinely care about their property. Everything inside and out is immaculate, and they enforce the 5mph and noise rules so everyone stays safe and comfortable. * Pricing: Super fair--especially if you have dogs! Downsides (and I really had to reach): * Bed: I'm pretty sure the master bed is a full, not a queen. I brought flat sheets, but it definitely felt smaller than a queen. * Shower curtain: It's adorable, but it tends to cling to you while you're showering. * Pocket doors: You need to slide the door all the way and hold it while locking until it catches. They're just a little loud, especially with a toddler sleeping in the loft since sound travels. I've honestly never stayed anywhere so clean and welcoming. Next time we'll probably book the deluxe cabin that sleeps 6, and we can't wait to come back. They anticipate everything you might need and truly care about you having an enjoyable stay. I can't recommend Greenbrier Campground enough!

We picked out this campground months before we went on vacation. It was perfect for us. Level spots…read morebacked up to a beautiful river. If you still have small children at home it looks great for kids. Trash area, restrooms, and camp spots were all clean and well maintained. Easy check in and nice people. It was a short trip into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but also the right distance away. We will be back here again and will stay at Greenbrier.

We stayed in the waterfall cabin for two nights while visiting friends that live in the area. It's…read morecozy and if it were cleaned as well as maintained it would be awesome. The couch looks like it came from a yard sale and when I reclined to watch TV then got up the stuffing came out. Looked like a squirrel stuck under it! There's literally dust bunnies everywhere including under the bed, on the ceiling fans and even the wall in the bedroom. The bed is completely worn out. The boards underneath are sagging so bad my wife & I felt like two marbles in a bowl. It doesn't look like it's been cleaned in years under the bed. The water in the shower was warm but had very little pressure. The facility is in a beautiful location but really close to a busy road. The noise will keep you up or wake you up. It looked so promising at first and turned into a major disappointment. The people are super nice but need to clean and replace some worn out stuff!
