Menus delivered quickly, and finding out we had never been to this location, our waitress gave us plenty of time to review the options. Asked about what she would recommend, she said it was all good. We ordered an appetizer called Wagon Wheel. It's a fried cheese wheel of cheddar, gouda, and parmesan. It's sprinkled with bacon, green onions, and has a dollop of jalapeno cream cheese in the middle. It sort of looks like a thin pizza. We all loved it! The restaurant is kind of a gourmet burger place and everyone besides me ordered that. I saw that they offered a country fried wagu steak, and I ordered that. It came with garlic cream potatoes, honey-bourbon baked beans, and a cornbread pancake. The food came out quickly and was just as everyone ordered. The others in the party enjoyed their food, and I really, really, really liked mine (I would order again). The only complaints were about the seasoning. It seemed like the chef forget it on all of our meals. The only other complaint had to do with the extreme heat in the guy's restroom. Will I return? Our Waitress Bella, was very sweet and there when we needed her. She knew exactly what my daughter wanted when she asked for something fulfilling. She got the pumpkin pancakes, sausage,hash browns and eggs. I got the Pepper jack melt and onion rings. Another OMG! So delicious and very well seasoned. I had the classic Eggs Benedict - the eggs were poached perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was a little broken but the flavor was incredible. Only negative was the English muffin needed toasted. My husband had the biscuits and gravy breakfast. His eggs were perfectly cooked, the biscuits and gravy are just that- no sausage in the gravy- but he said it was some of the best gravy he's had and he really enjoyed them, though he said it was way too much food. You don't hear that often from him when it comes to breakfast. Over all- quality breakfast, good prices (aside from $3 for a soda ) and nice little place. We will be back.

The breakfast also came with two large pancakes. The only minor downside was that the pancakes arrived just slightly warm--not hot. I understand they're likely made ahead and held under a heat lamp while the rest of the table's orders are finished, so it wasn't a dealbreaker, and I still enjoyed them. Overall, Cari's is a great spot for breakfast, and hopefully I won't wait another eight years before my next visit!

We walked in and over to a booth... the table appeared clean but the seats had food left in them for ... well I'm not sure how long. Moved to another booth that the guy way "wiping down" with a wet dirty rag and no cleaner. Yes, I am aware that some restaurants soak towels for this purpose, but I promise this was not the case. He did not wipe down the seats, but the food on the seat was to my right and there really was no other option, since all the chairs at the tables had hand prints on the top of the chairs and black dirt on the legs of the chairs. I informed the waitress that she might want to remind her bus boy that he should wipe down the seats. She apologized and I hope she passed on the information. While sitting there, I became more uncomfortable. Food on the walls. Air vents were black, like the AC filter has never been changed. I observed people behind the counter on an "ice rink of grease" sliding all around. The floors in the restaurant haven't been cleaned in days. It was 10 am, no way could they look like that from just a few hours. The grill has not been cleaned in well, it's been a while.... See photos, the aluminum wall guard was swiped at. But the controls on the grill were just nasty Waitresses were eating and drinking behind the counter, in front of customers. I didn't get to the restrooms, but if they are anything like the rest of the restaurant..... Coffee was as far as I wanted to go here. But my mom wanted to eat. So we ordered a burger and a steak sandwich. 40.00 plus tip. Food was subpar. Does were cold. Burger was not great. Mom liked her steak sandwich. Would I recommend this place. Absolutely NOT. We will not be going back. A giant waste of money.

However, we were seated right away on the patio and received our food promptly. Our waitress, (I believe her name was Emma), was the sweetest person and did an amazing job! The food was delicious! Riverhouse Grill is always clean and inviting (especially on the patio). One of my favorites in Glen Rose!
