We visited for a late breakfast and it was very busy. We ordered avocado toast, huevos rancheros, and the waffle with eggs and bacon. We also decided on several lattes and my youngest daughter wanted one of their fruit smoothies. To be honest the food was just average. I expected the avocado toast to be a smashed avocado on toast and topped with the other ingredients, but sadly it was just an egg on the toast, with 3 or four thin slices of avocado on the top. My oldest daughter ordered the huevos rancheros and asked for no tomatoes, there were so many tomatoes in her eggs that she couldn't even pick them out. It was very disappointing. My youngest daughter liked the smoothie but she said the waffle was kind of hard. One of the lattes we received was okay but the other tasted as if the espresso was burned. Nothing is prettier than a coffee shop on a town square. After running through the Moments-In-Time Trail, I stopped in to get a coffee and see how their coffee is. It's a cute place! It being Sunday of Labor Day weekend meant everyone was in town, and it definitely slowed things down. There wasn't a single open table inside or outside. I wasn't sitting down for service, just grabbing things for the road, but I ordered a muffin and an iced Cinnamon Twist. I think I regret ordering the size as big as I did (their grande was like 24 oz iced) because it was quite milky (my fault), but the cinnamon and vanilla were good. The muffin was the true star of the show. It was huge, dense, and fluffy. A much-needed carb and sugar rush after my humid Granbury run. The place is super cute, and I will totally try to go back for brunch next time I visit. The place can feel a little tight when you're trying to order to-go without getting in the way of the staff, other people ordering, and the people dining in, but the place was practically at capacity when I got there. We've had a lot of great meals here over the last several years but on occasion, especially lately, the service is lacking. There's a certain laxity and lack of professionalism with the employees here and there. The food is generally spot on although the prices are pretty high. The espresso based beverages are excellent but again pretty darn pricey. This is especially frustrating when they offer a cash discount (charge 3% or so for credit), and our breakfast was over $40 for two of us and they wouldn't break a $100 bill. To end on a positive note, the breads they make in-house are outstanding and that breakfast sandwich is awesome! read more

Being a business owner since 2006 on the square, I have enjoyed Paradise Bistro in the past. One of my favorite menu items was Ruben sandwich. I recommended them saying they almost as good as Time Square in NYC. Today I took a friend to get one. Wow, what happened!? 2 pics above -- first pic is normal Ruben & above is the less than 1/4 deep Ruben got today. I slice of thin meat instead of shaved of min 1", hardly any kraut & couldn't taste dressing!! Paradise Bistro & Coffee is one of those adorable local spots with great breakfast, excellent coffee, and a cozy vibe. We've loved it for years, which makes this review so frustrating to write. If you visit on a Sunday, you'll likely see several open tables and think the wait will be short, but the kitchen is swamped with catering and to-go orders. They seem to take on so many that in-person diners are left waiting over an hour for food, even when the restaurant isn't full. It's disappointing to see a place this good lose balance between catering and caring for the people who actually come in. It's happened to us several times and others have shared the same frustrations with us. They could absolutely fix this by managing catering separately or limiting those orders during breakfast/brunch hours or saving spaces in the ordering cue for dine-in guests. But until they do, it just feels like dine-in guests are treated as second priority. The food is great, but the experience has become frustrating enough that we'll be visiting one of the other great restaurants on the square that still make their guests a priority. read more

FOOD & DRINK - Caramel Macchiato - Paradise Avocado Toast My friends and I were in Granbury, TX looking for a place to stay and study while we had some downtime between our convention. I ordered the caramel macchiato. It tasted really good but I will say it was a little bit more on the caramel side. There was a lot of caramel that settled on the bottom but that's just like personal preference since I like less sweet. The ratio of ice to drink was nice which made the drink still taste good even after the ice had melted. The Paradise Avocado Toast has roasted red peppers, egg, grilled mushrooms and onions, avocado, cilantro and feta cheese. It had great flavor overall but a little bit on the saltier side due to the feta cheese. I will say that I was expecting something a lot lighter as far as avocado toast, but this avocado toast was more on the oily side. The roasted red peppers and mushrooms tasted well together. Not really any complaints as far as the toast besides the fact it was kind of dripping in oil. VIBES Paradise Bistro gives very home-y comforting vibes. It has sort of a rustic kind of look with all the wood. There's plenty of seating from booths to chairs to a small couch area. I will say that there are some places in the floor that are creaky which is just an observation really. We came around 10 or 11 and it wasn't too crowded, but it got much more crowded towards lunch. Most of the lighting comes from the front window which gives the place a more fresh, open feel. Pretty nice place to hangout, talk with family, or get some work done. SERVICE Service was great! Paradise had my husband and I very interested in trying their food after our drinks from a previous day came out delicious. However, the food was underwhelming. My pancakes were nothing special. The batter used returned the chewy type of pancakes and I prefer my pancakes to come out more like a fluffy pancake. My husband got their avocado toast and that was a disappointment. For a breakfast item that costs $10 (rounded 1 cent up) it should have been much bigger. It was not even close to the size of my pancakes. (would've been 5 if not for one major issue) It's been on my heart for the last few weeks and I felt inclined to leave a review. I ordered the pancake breakfast with bacon and scrambled eggs and oh. my. god. one of the best meals I've had in a long time! My husband got the Paradise Breakfast and completely cleared his plate, while the kids were thrilled with their chocolate chip waffles. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was top-tier. Everyone working there had such great energy and made us feel genuinely welcomed. However, the only downside to our visit was an extremely uncomfortable encounter with an older man who was not part of the staff but hung around pretending to be a customer. He kept trying to talk to our children and even encouraged them to come closer to him which immediately set off alarm bells for us. Even after we politely made it clear we wanted to enjoy our meal as a family, he wouldn't leave us alone and continued hovering nearby. It completely changed the atmosphere and made us feel unsafe and eager to leave. The restaurant itself and the employees were wonderful, but management should really be aware of this individual...no family should have to deal with that kind of behavior while trying to enjoy a meal together... Might consider coming back if he's not there. read more

While walking around the downtown area we stopped in for coffee. The line was to the door but moved very fast. Ordered the sugar free Crème Brûlée and it was very good. We sat inside and looking around I saw lots of really good looking breakfast items. Will definitely come back when this way and eat next time. read more

This is a really nice, nostalgic place. Large ceilings in an old building with what looks like the original floors. Set in historic downtown that has been kept up and is a joy to visit. The windows of the shop face the town square building. Tall ceilings and big windows, the dining area is pleasant but the sound has a pretty hard echo to it. We didn't go during a ver busy time, but the talking and other noises in here did carry and bounced off the walls. The food was really nice. I had the Ruben and although it wasn't stacked tall with meat, it was enough, and the best part about the corned beef was how tender it was. Other places serve harder meats, this was real tender and the cheese was melted into the meat. The Roxie wrap was good as well with the combo of cucumber and olives in it. Really nice. read more

We greatly enjoy Paradise for weekend breakfast. Yes the order staff is full of attitude and menu ignorance but we rarely order from the same person twice. Must have a high turnover rate for order staff. On the other hand the kitchen seems to be experienced. Our plates have always come quickly depending upon how busy they are. It's a small kitchen so we think they do exceptionally well. Not crazy about their hot coffee so we always get iced coffee. The caramel macchiato is 1000x better than Starbucks. Great spot for brunch on Sunday! My husband enjoyed the paradise breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage. The eggs, home style potatoes, and toast were very good. I had the eggs bennedict with bacon. The bacon is delicious! It's got a great glaze and flavor is plenty! The bennedict was decent, but the hollandaise was pretty weak in flavor, otherwisestill tasty. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and golden. Seating is very limited and it is a little confusing. What an unbelievable let down! Came in for lunch, ordered at 12:03 and ours friends food was brought out about :25 minutes later. My wife and my food was brought out and :10 minutes after theirs. The order was completely wrong. Finally the food came out in about another :15 minutes. So a total of 50 minutes to get our food. Of course our friends were done eating. Food was just ok. Loved the customer service in this place. Heaven and Angel were my server and barista, respectively. They told me a Trinity also worked there, but she had the day off. Between the coffee and the cuisine, combined with outstanding customer service, this was one of my favorite stops in Granbury. We were performing down the street at the Granbury Live and I was charmed by not only this town, but all the goings-on in it, Paradise being a highlight. I had the creme brulee latte (I think? Heaven suggested it and it was DELICIOUS) and the BLT, which was outSTANDing. The sweet potato fries were just kinda aight, but the sammich and draink more than made up for them. It's a little on the pricier side but you get more than just a bite and sip--you get an experience. And if we come back to Granbury (AND WE WILL), I look forward to coming back to Paradise.
