We booked Triple S Ranch for our 10/24/2021 wedding date 2 months ago in late August. We are both food and beverage professionals and I am a long time event beverage director for celebrity weddings, massive music festivals like Coachella and a BottleRock , high profile corporate events, and large layers of sporting events like the NFL Super Bowl. We literally went ALL IN and planned our dream outdoor Indian Summer wedding at Triple S Ranch. A 9 days before our wedding the forecast showed a lot of rain after 2 years of almost no rain, so the Triple S team and especially their booking and planning agency Milestone Events stepped up and started guiding us through the ideal rain contingency plans and alternate indoor layouts. We resisted the possibility and thought of rain with positivity until it was 100% going to be an atmospheric river on our wedding day. Triple S Ranch and Milestone Events helped us turn our outdoor dream into the most romantic, edgy, exciting, warm, welcoming, magically beautiful, DREAM CONE TRUE WEDDING indoors. We could never have imagined a group of people to work that hard and step ip that STRONG to support our experience like they did. Derrick and Amanda and Jessica are our literal heroes and I am actually crying with joy and gratitude as I write this and remember the moments of watching them work so so so so so so hard to make our monsoon wedding magical and unique and warm and comfortable. We highly recommend using their new cellar space for an additional layer or part of your next event there. We had our ceremony in that space. It is so so so so so so unique and beautiful. I am the groom and I am tearing up with gratitude and respect for these kind lovely MASTERS of their trade as I finish this post. We are so lucky to have found this place and these people. We will have our anniversary party there FOR SURE and rent out the WHOLE space with lodging next year. We hope it rains again........ read more

Triple S continues to hold our $20,000 and has on multiple times not responded to our emails, or our lawyer's (yes, we had to involve someone since they are illegally holding our money). There is now a "Nancy" commenting as the manager but we have never heard of this person, nor have any way to contact her. Again, we have sent multiple requests and questions, all with no response; don't let SSS's comments on this review not let you read the full story. It's hilarious they are talking about compassion. WE LITERALLY GOT MARRIED SOMEWHERE ELSE, which we told Derek and Christine already (no response, just like the other times we ask for help). They are now acting like the recent fires should give them more compassion? This whole thing started in March, so that's like Trump grasping at something to deflect from the actual problem. How about the compassion for the $20000 we lost as a couple? SSS is asking for ANOTHER $20000 to reserve the venue for a future date. We have plenty of friends in hospitality, wine and restaurants in Napa, and we will leave our compassion for these good people, thank you very much. And don't take my word for it. Feel free to message me for info and screenshots on other unhappy couples who got screwed over, venues in the area who are shocked by Derek and Christine's behavior, other vendors who are saddened when we show them the language he's used with us. Triple SSS deserves less than one star for holding our $20000 while asking for $20000 more, this during Covid and even after we got married. How do I give Triple S twenty stars?! I have been to the ranch 7 times and hosted a Corporate Event for Entrepreneurs Organization there. The event received a 9.8 rating / 10 with REALLY PICKY members! Possibly the most highly rated event ever. We were blown away by the beauty of the natural landscape, the luxury detail of all of the accommodations, the unique and historic meeting locations, the versatility of the gathering locations, the 25 person hot tub, the breathtaking pool and the interesting antiques everywhere. Christine and Derek were amazing to plan with and we were amazed that we had the place to ourself for the whole week without staff onsite! Made us feel so autonomous and trusted. Triple S Ranch is an absolute scam, please be advised and do not give them your money. My partner and I discovered this venue last year shortly after becoming engaged. I was excited and wanted to find the perfect place, but I didn't do my research. I'm writing this review right now so others don't make my mistake. It was the first place we saw and the price tag is VERY steep: $40,000 for two nights -- $20K for the venue, $20K for the lodging. But, Derek promised, we could make this up in charging for the lodging on site - divide $20K (the lodging fees) by 60 people staying on property and it's a steal for Napa, right? The venue can accommodate 200 guests, so let's just get it. OK, we took the bait. There were a few red flags early on, the owner Derek made a lot of promises that didn't show up in the contract. They would take a week to respond to simple email questions, they were disorganized and even emailed us 6 months before our wedding date to confirm we wanted to have our wedding there (mind you, we had already given them a $20,000 deposit months before this). Neither Derek nor Christine showed up for walk-throughs and they made it very clear that no customer service was included in our venue rental. OK, we employed a planner, I work in events, we'll cope. Then, the COVID pandemic hit. Events were all canceled indefinitely, we were scared about what this meant for our family and finances. In April we contacted Derek to see what our options were for our October wedding. They responded by saying that things should be fine and they were not expecting any need to cancel due to COVID. We waited. Derek said, "The dry sunny climate of Napa Valley is less conducive to virus propagation than many other climates." "As the weather warms the general spread of the virus is expected to taper." In May we implored them to give us some options for rescheduling or canceling. We have older parents with preexisting conditions that would need to travel from all over the world. Our dream wedding in October was clearly not going to be able to happen. Their response: forfeit your $20K deposit to cancel, or reschedule our 3-day wedding to the winter (outdoor wedding, during the height of flu season) or Sunday-Tuesday. Oh, and we would have to pay another $20K upfront. BUT that is our decision since they were still planning on hosting weddings despite government-mandated shutdowns. Cool. I've worked in large-scale corporate events for 15 years and I've never experienced such a complete disregard by a venue for the health, safety, and happiness of their clients. All other venues and vendors we've consulted with returned 50-100% of their clients deposits due to COVID cancellations. Derek and Christine refuse to respond to emails, even from our lawyers. We've heard from so many other distraught couples who've tracked us down who have had their life savings stolen by this venue and had what was meant to be a beautiful celebration completely destroyed. Do not get married at this venue. We had our wedding here in 2017 and the owner, Derek, was awful to work with. He was rude, unaccommodating and misconstrued what would be available on the property. Some examples: He told us every room on the property was air conditioned - they weren't. In reality, only a few of the buildings were air conditioned and the air conditioning in the main barn didn't work well at all. Our wedding was in July and it was 100 degrees outside. One of our guests fainted. There was a new building with guest rooms that was under construction when we first toured the property. We were told it would be ready in time for our wedding, so we planned to have some friends sleep there. Our wedding planner visited the site two weeks before our wedding and it was still in the early stages of construction. Still, we were told it wouldn't be a problem. Sure enough, three days before our wedding, the building still wasn't finished. There was a bed and running water, but the floors and walls were still bare hardwood. The owner insisted that it was livable and wanted to charge us the full price to have our guests sleep there. We had to fight to get our money back for those rooms and we had to find our friends other arrangements at the last minute. Completely unreasonable. Be aware that he's also continually adding things to the property. The property will look different between when you do the initial tour and your wedding day. In some cases the changes are small (new knick knacks added to the walls/ceilings). But in some cases, the changes will be big. For example, he attached a 12 ft tall walnut silo to the side of the main barn a few weeks before our wedding. We thought it was very ugly, but couldn't do anything about it. Although the ceremony site is beautiful, it's honestly not worth the stress. If you're paying premium price for a venue (which you will be at Triple S), you should at least get some good customer service. Look elsewhere, folks. read more

We rented the property in 2015 for the most epic wedding in history. The attention to detail at the property is unrivaled. The space was perfect for hosting our wedding that lasted all weekend and having the freedom to use the space, bring in our own vendors and pretend liked we lived here for a weekend was beyond magical. We could not have been happier that we chose SSS ranch as the venue to profess our love to the world and can't wait to return and see all the new magic that Derek and his crew has poured into the property. read more

Beautiful place for a wedding HOWEVER there is no kitchen therefore all the food needs to be brought in..ends up lukewarm. All the sishware etc needs to be brought in. I am the mother of a bride, as well as Events Coordinator at Christ Episcopal Church in Sausalito. I toured this property in January 2020, with my daughter and her fiancé, as well as their Napa wedding planner. It looked like a great spot for a large wedding, with multiple areas for entertaining and cabins where guests could stay onsite, so I was excited we were booking this venue for my daughter's fall 2020 wedding. I even talked about the property with some of the bridal parties I was working with, who wanted a multi-day celebration with over 150 guests. However - our family, along with other sorry customers, is now finding that the venue is ignoring the effect of the pandemic on booking plans. This venue won't refund any part of our $20K deposit or work with my daughter to reschedule for an alternate 2021 weekend. The other weddings vendors I work with are all making some type of accommodation for their customers this year. Some are allowing them to reschedule to an alternative weekend in 2021 without penalties or additional deposits; others are allowing cancellations with return of 50% to 100% of the deposit. Due to the way the owners of Triple S Ranch have treated our family when we tried to reschedule or cancel due to the pandemic, I am no longer recommending this property to the brides I work with. read more

Triple S Ranch is the dreamiest property you could imagine. The barn (and second barn in progress) and the cabins have beautiful, authentic details that are so rustic and incredible. The ceremony tree speaks for itself and the property itself is magical and out of a fairytale. There is also a pool, hot tub, gym, and cabins for guests to say. The venue does not put restrictions on venues so you can save a lot of money by bringing in whoever you want. They also provide tables and chairs which is a huge money saver too! The venue is extremely expensive and you must rent it out for the entire weekend, however, you save in so many other areas that it ends up being more reasonable than it sounds. it helps to charge your guests to stay in the cabins (as a hotel would). Overall, it is such a blast to have everyone all in one place for the whole weekend. The owner, Derek, recently hired an employee, Christine, to be his communications liaison. She is your point person until day of and she is incredible. Some of the other reviews talk about poor communication but I think this issue is solved now and probably because of Christine! The venue is growing each year with new additions so having someone else to help manage it is crucial. I can't wait to see what it looks like a few years down the road. 10/10 would recommend. We got married at Triple S on April 25th 2015...only the 3rd wedding on the property. I did my research and there is truly no other venue like Triple S in wine country. We loved that our wedding party could stay on property with us and that we could have flexibility on the vendors we selected for the weekend. Our wedding was incredible and memorable from start to finish! If you are looking for a unique property in wine country and are comfortable with being a little more hands on in your wedding planning, this is the place for you. Getting married under an old walnut tree on property was memorable for us and for our guests who had never seen anything like it. We had 120 guests on Friday night for our welcome dinner where we sat on the downstairs patio and 140 guests for the wedding where we sat inside. The space accommodated the group nicely and everyone kept telling us how unique and special it was. My biggest fear was rain on our weekend. It did end up raining on Friday night after the welcome dinner was over, around 9pm and everyone gathered inside for drinks at the lower bar. Luckily, the sun came out on Saturday for our big day. There were minor issues throughout the weekend but given that we were only the 3rd wedding, there were things we expected and will probably not be an issue for others. We peppered the owner, Derek with questions leading up to the wedding day and most things he worked diligently to address. Derek is truly a visionary and almost everything he promised, he delivered on. If Triple S was amazing for our wedding in April, we can only imagine how gorgeous it will be next year when all the finishing touches are put into the property. I visited this property today because I am considering having my corporate retreat there in May and I have stayed at his Mendocino property. This operator of wedding and corporate retreat properties is none other than spectacular. Derek Webb also operates a property in Mendocino which has spectacular reviews. He is on the cutting edge of combining the modern with antiquities and creating a setting that brides and grooms rave about. Triple S Ranch sits on the top of the mountain just 3 miles from downtown Calistoga where Derek is integrating some beautiful architectural salvage from all over the world into a venue that cannot be found anywhere in Northern California. That over 30 other bride and groom's have booked weddings for 2015 is indicative that he can deliver. read more

Having hosted an event at the Triple S in the past I was eager to do so again for a reunion we planned for this fall. Regretfully, because of Covid, we had to cancel our event. The owner, Derek Webb, was extremely gracious and very helpful in helping us reschedule our event for the fall of 2021. He did everything he could to meet our needs and make this transition as smooth and stress free as possible. His cordial and accommodating efforts were greatly appreciated by all of us, particularly in light of all the cancellations like ours, that he had to manage. My husband and I were married at Triple S in May 2017. The venue is incredibly unique and exactly what we were looking for. We were able to have our immediate families, the full bridal/grooms parties, plus a few more stay on site. It's basically upscale sophisticated rustic summer camp. Derek, the property owner, is fairly hands off which we actually loved (especially in comparison to all those other crazy venue managers we met during our search who were incessant and honestly just unpleasant sales people). He's of course available to answer questions and etc though, as they come up. We loved being able to choose the vendors we wanted to work with (catering, coordinators, liquor, etc) instead of having a small set list that screams of kick-backs. Many of our guests claimed it was the best wedding they'd ever been to and everyone who sees the photos immediately wants to know about the location. Don't even waste your time on this venue. It was the worst experience of my life just checking it out as a possible wedding venue. It looks nothing like the pictures and is far from being finished with the "renovations". According to their blog they started renovating in 2012 and according to the owner, Derek, they won't be done until April 2015. On top of the misleading pictures, the owner tried to raise the price and went back on it when I said he had quoted a lower price, told me all of May and June were booked but then tried to cover his mistake when I told him he said it was available just a few weeks ago, and above all of that, he just left us at the property without even mentioning that he was leaving, we had to find out that he left from one of the men working on the site. I have never felt so infuriated or insulated by someone. Not worth the time. read more

We had the most magical wedding weekend at the Triple S Ranch! If you are looking for a unique venue this is the place! Choosing a venue where we could spend the whole weekend was one of the best decisions we could have made! Our wedding party loved being able to spend the weekend on property. All the rooms were decorated very nicely and super comfortable. Everyone wished we could have stayed another night and are still talking about it! As for the wedding day (6/6/15) our ceremony was at 4pm under the gorgeous walnut tree then our guests were escorted to the upper level patio for cocktail hour then to the lower level for dinner and back up to the barn for dancing. Our guests loved that they were able to move to different locations throughout the day. Another great thing about the ranch is you are able to choose all your vendors. This could be intimidating to some but if you hire the right wedding coordinator (which is required) its really not bad at all. (If you are looking for a good one Courtney Cargile is amazing) We liked the fact that the venue was a blank slate to work with and make it our own. The owner Derek was also very helpful and responsive whenever we had questions during the planning process. The Triple S Ranch is truly a gem and we were so lucky to have our wedding there! We got married in August here and it was amazing! Our guests were so impressed by the beauty, uniqueness and general atmosphere this venue provided. Derek's vision has really come through and the way he has redone this property is spectacular. I can't wait to get our photos back and remember it all again! Derek always responded quickly to our questions and worked with us to try to provide what we needed. There are many ways to use this property and Derek allows you to do just that. It is great how much furniture is already provided - all of it beautiful and great quality. We had a rehearsal dinner/ welcome cocktails and brunch on the patio and the reception in the barn. We managed to fit tables for 170 people in the barn and outside on the deck, and still have room for dancing. It was a bit tight but nice that it worked out! The accommodations were perfect- charming and rustic, but with the comforts of a 5-star hotel- seriously so comfortable! and we loved having friends and family be able to stay with us the whole weekend! The bunk house was a big hit with our friends, and for us, being able to retreat to the quiet, peaceful and beautiful main house was great. Since there is so much flexibility with vendors (which is so great!), we did a lot ourselves and you have to make sure you provide/ rent everything- great for our budget and getting exactly what we wanted, but also meant we were doing a lot of work. Be sure to think about fridge space needed for catering needs/desserts, all your food and beverages- we had a hard time fitting it all in. Another piece of advice, make sure you have an army of friends and family on clean-up duty/ dealing with rentals, etc.- it took much longer than we thought and was a lot of work! Unfortunately, since it is in a residential-ish area guests have to leave by 10:30 and music needs to quieted down, we understand why, but just know this isn't the place where you get to party all night with everyone. My main complaint was that we couldn't stay for a week- 1 weekend was way too short! We didn't even get to take advantage of a lot of the amenities, like the wood burning oven! A few suggestions: trash cans in each bathroom of big house (ours didn't have one, but I think other rooms did), different colored receptacles for recycling and trash on the patio/ barn/behind the bars, having a working ice machine would be so nice (I believe this is in the works)- we spent a lot of time acquiring ice. Last summer my daughter and her fiancé went looking for a venue to hold their July 2015 wedding in Napa or Sonoma. They found Triple S Ranch and immediately called us to say it was just what they wanted with the caveat that it was currently under renovation and SHOULD be ready for a July 11th wedding! My husband and I traveled to CA to visit the site with them and could see the potential and the vision owner Derek Webb had for Triple S and we crossed our fingers and signed on! What a year makes--Derek Webb's renovations far exceeded our expectations and everything was done to perfection. The patios turned out to be so spectacular we changed our original plan to hold the 6 pm wedding reception dinner in the barn and instead had it outside for our 160 guests! It was magical....after dinner we ALL danced to a live band in the barn that provided plenty of dance floor space for everyone. We used Triple S's lovely rustic cocktail tables and leather furniture in the barn and on the porch for those resting their dancing feet! Two beautiful and spacious bars (one upstairs in the barn and one downstairs that opens to the lovely patios) make the venue so functional, allowing you to use the property is so many different ways. The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner in the barn Friday night and it looked so beautiful-- it was a perfect way to start our memorable and special wedding weekend at Triple S! The property cabins housed the wedding party, friends and family--they were all beautifully renovated and the beds were extremely comfortable with lovely down-like pillows, linens and blankets. The peace and quiet was just what we needed and we were charmed by the crowing roosters each morning from a property nearby--they did not wake us up! The bride and groom, and two other wedding party couples stayed in the COMPLETELY renovated Victorian house. Each room is beautifully appointed and the bathrooms so lovely! It was the perfect place for the bride and her attendants to get ready while the groom and groomsmen did the same in one of the larger cabins! The wedding ceremony was then held under the shade of a large walnut tree--a perfect setting indeed. Morning coffee was enjoyed pool side by many of the property guests. During the renovation process this year Derek Webb spared no expense finding an "antique" pool house and building an amazing stone patio around the pool- he finished it off with plenty of beautiful outdoor furniture suitable for sunning, relaxing or hosting a brunch or another cocktail party. Derek Webb was a pleasure to work with and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely, "rustic", comfortable and special Napa venue! read more

I can't say enough good things about Triple S Ranch and Derek! We recently rented the property for our wedding weekend Nov 11-13th 2016. This is the most unique venue that you will find in the Napa area. Every detail of the house and barn was put together by Derek and has a story. You will not find another property that you can rent for the weekend with beautiful sites (the tree, the pool), adorable little cabins and a well-equipped barn for events. Our guests are still raving about how cool this place is! From the time we booked the property to the time of our event, Derek was continually working on making the property even better. There is now a beautiful infinity hot tub and the newest cabins are amazing! Derek was very accommodating by letting us visit a few times and he let us arrive a little early for our check-in time to start setting up. Catering companies will love the large restaurant-size kitchen in the barn and the place is so picturesque for wedding photographs. We utilized the patio for dinner both nights and even put the wood-burning oven to use by having pizzas made in it! You will not find another property like this-highly recommended!! read more

My wife and I were married at Triple S Ranch in October 2016. The venue is awesome! We loved that it had a rustic, yet sophisticated feel and also that up to 30 people could spend the night at the property...we wanted our wedding to feel like a weekend long party and this venue was perfect for that (pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, etc.). We received so many compliments from guests about the venue and accommodations and we don't have one regret about getting married here, even though the price to rent the venue for the weekend wasn't cheap. We do think there are a couple of things that could improve the experience of couples getting married here: (1) if Derek were to hire a property manager...Derek has done a tremendous job renovating the property and has a keen vision for artistic elements (every time we visited the property during the wedding planning process there was some new artistic element that wasn't there before), but the logistics of the day-to-day management doesn't seem to be his strong suit. Ultimately everything went off without a hitch, but we were worried at times that Derek might not remember something we had agreed to in an email exchange; and (2) adding another structure that could be used for weddings in inclement weather. It absolutely poured rain during our ceremony, but my wife and I had our hearts set on getting married under the old walnut tree, and did that anyway (rain and all). Of course, inclement weather isn't Derek's fault, but it would have been nice to have another option to move the wedding indoors...it wasn't really an option for us since we had to move all dinner seating inside the barn (thus ruling the barn out as an option to hold the ceremony) and the only other option was to rent a tent and put that on the patio near the Victorian or in the parking lot. My wife and I didn't want to be under a tent in a parking lot after having spent so much money to rent the venue and loving the aesthetic of the property. Even with the rain, the weekend was fantastic and unforgettable and our guests want us to rent the venue out again in the future for a reunion! We'll see about that... :) read more

Not only is it an absolutely stunning property and an incredible spot to host your guests for multi-day activities, it is extra special because of the care that Derek has put into preserving it and all of the little touches that can be seen around the property. With the Tubbs Fire threatening SSS Ranch, we were in a bit of limbo trying to figure out if the property was viable after Derek and his team managed to heroically save it. Derek went above and beyond to make sure that we were so well taken care of and was in such great contact with us throughout, which not only helped me, but the clients tremendously. SSS Ranch is truly a gem in Calistoga, and having our couples stay on the property helps with the flow of the wedding day with everyone already in one spot and helps make everything run much more efficiently from a logistical perspective. My now-husband and I just got married at the Triple S Ranch this past weekend, and all I can say is...wow. The owner has been doing renovations on the property at a rate you wouldn't believe, and boy did he deliver. Our wedding could not have been a bigger success. I couldn't count how many guests came up to me to comment on the incredible beauty of the grounds, the barn, and the Victorian, and the small touches that make the property a phenomenal combination of comfortable and modern, and antique, classic and unique. Our closest friends stayed in the cabins on the grounds, and couldn't stop raving about how lovely (and comfortable) they were. All of our vendors were also delighted with the ease with which they were able to access all of the amenities they needed-- for example, the owner put in an underground and completely hidden, subtle electrical line to the tree where the wedding ceremonies can be held, so we were able to have speakers hooked up right there in the middle of the field without a generator. He even provided a golf cart for us to get around the property, which totally wasn't necessary but which I enjoyed quite a lot. I seriously considered taking it down the aisle with me just for fun. Throughout this process I found the owner to be extremely conscientious, a great communicator, and completely honest. He kept us abreast of the renovations throughout and answered an absurd number of detailed questions (Will you have a coffee carafe in the kitchen? Are there toiletries in the cabins?) from yours truly, which obviously made my life a lot easier. He is dedicated to providing a site that caters to couples who want to be able to dictate the terms of their weddings, and that worked out for us perfectly-- no crazy corkage fees, no required list of vendors, no micromanaging whatsoever. It should be noted that there's very little cell service at the venue (although there is wifi) which I'm guessing has some bearing on some of the difficulties previous reviewers noted. My husband and I got married at this venue a month ago and it was absolutely memorable. Our wedding party arrived on Friday. It was awesome that everyone could stay together and have the whole place to ourselves for the weekend. We had a casual rehearsal dinner on the barn's back patio and made pizzas in the built in pizza oven. We also had a welcome reception by the pool. Our ceremony was underneath the giant walnut tree and it was perfect. This place was just renovated. Although many things are new, all of the details have great character and charm. Definitely recommend this place for a wedding. read more

My wife and I hosted our daughter's wedding over a 3 day weekend in October 2016. We had a Friday night welcome dinner for 110 people, utilizing the authentic outdoor pizza oven and patios with redwood chairs and tables that seat 150. The Saturday wedding service was under a 100 year old walnut tree, and the reception in the upper restored vintage Barn, complete with original wood floors and massive western bar. Our guests were amazed by the authenticity of this historic property and the visionary work of owner Derek. He is continually adding more improvements, which is exciting. The natural setting and lovely views make for a unique venue site for any planned wedding or large gathering event. Our wedding weekend was incredible, which in part was do to the ability to have 30 family members and friends stay with us for the 3 days, and then host both the large welcome dinner and wedding at the same site. All involved had a wonderful time at the Triple S Ranch/Napa, and also enjoyed the nearby town of Calistoga and the Napa Valley. Ken and Midge read more

My husband and I got married here on June 13th, 2015. After meeting with owner Derek Webb last spring, we trusted his vision for the complete renovation that needed to be done. And he delivered. We would check in on renovations throughout the year and I honestly can't believe what he was able to accomplish in the 13 months leading up to our wedding day. I was nervous at times that the venue wouldn't be ready, but when our wedding weekend rolled around, everything looked perfect. Derek was very accommodating. We had only booked one night (Saturday), but when my mom asked if we could stay Friday as well, Derek was open to the idea. Having the whole weekend at the ranch made setup and wedding prep so much easier. The Victorian house might have been my favorite part of the venue. The beds are crazy comfortable and it has air conditioning, which was very helpful during 90+ degree weather. But the whole property was amazing, and all our guests agreed. I have the fondest memories of my wedding weekend and Triple S Ranch is a huge part of that. I'm so glad we trusted Derek to deliver our dream venue. read more

When we first went to Triple S Ranch with our daughter and her fiancé almost a year and a half ago, we all knew this could be the perfect place for the lovely, comfortable and fun celebration they both envisioned, and never doubted that the owner Derek would have it renovated so that it would be fully usable by their June 2015 wedding - it didn't take to much imagination to see what he was envisioning and what he was capable of accomplishing. Even so, we didn't anticipate that he would have the project at such a perfect point in renovation is such a short time. The property is gorgeous and all the available buildings are lovely; beautifully renovated but in a way that is understated enough not to overwhelm the surroundings. And through all the work of renovation, Derek was also fully available to us as we planned the celebration with our daughter, answering calls and emails promptly and keeping the property completely available to us through the construction. Beyond the beauty of the site, the elements offered here in this 'blank space" venue which families have for the full weekend of their wedding allowed us, and anyone who holding their here, the opportunity to create the wedding of their dreams. In our daughter and son-in-law's case it was a personal, comfortable multiday celebration in a beautiful natural setting, while at the same time offering their guests a stunningly gorgeous wedding experience which they are still talking about. I would not recommend this site to anyone. Although the venue itself has potential, I strongly feel the manager/owner will not deliver as promised, especially with the hefty price tag of $22500 non-negotiable. Our first and only experience with this "resort" was an appointment to view the property with the owner, Derek. He told us to be there at a very specific time, because he had another appt. directly before us. We drove hours to meet him at that time, and when we arrived on time, there was not a soul there to greet us. We waited for nearly an hour, and called him 4 times with no answer. We left several voicemails, and finally ended up showing ourselves around the property. The victorian house and barn were in shambles and uninhabitable, to the point where I dont see how it would be brought up to code by April 2015. The pool was green with algea and had garbage laying all around it with used towels as though someone was living at the property who cant clean up after themselves. The place was quite a mess overall. After waiting for nearly an hour, we decided to leave and get food in town. We did not leave the Calistoga area for nearly 3 hours hoping he would call. We never received a phone call back from the owner. When we got home we received an email from the owner, approximately 15 minutes past our scheduled appt. time (I found it odd that he had enough service to send and email, but couldnt answer his phone). He stated that he was running 20 min late and had "car trouble". We responded to him via email, and attempted to call him, again, when we were already home, but he did not answer, big suprise. He responded to us again by email, stating that he got there approx. 30 min late, which is not possible because we waited far past that time. Not once did he apologize to us for his poor time management or the inconvenience. When we expressed our frustrations via voicemail, he again responded by email, in a condescening, arrogant attitude, implying that we are impatient and shouldnt waste his time. As much as I am offended by this man's lack of professionalism, I'm actually glad he was so rude to us. I cannot imagine investing $50k+ into our wedding day only to be disappointed and let down by him in the end. Planning a wedding is not just about having a beautiful spot, its about reliability and professionalism on your "special day" from those involved. I hope people read this review before jumping into a huge financial and emotional commitment with such a lousy business owner. It should be noted that this is the first yelp review I've posted.
