This time: over a three week span they took multiple days to respond to calls and texts, missed multiple appointments they had set with me, and showed up about 6 hours late both times they actually came. They misdiagnosed the issue and charged me a couple thousand dollars (after promising a discount that they did not give) to do work that didn't fix the issue in the slightest bit. Following a good experience a few years ago, I asked Tritan for a quote to install a new kitchen sink and potentially move a pipe in my kitchen wall to accommodate the drainage of the new sink. After saying they would be at my house at 10am on a Tuesday, the plumber, Mickey, did not show up until 7pm that night for the estimate. Mickey quoted me a price for the sink that included potentially moving the pipe. Because of my previous good experience and being understanding that things happen, I signed with them. Mickey said their credit card interfacing equipment was broken, and they asked for a 50% deposit through Zelle. Due to Zelle's policy's I couldn't send the amount they asked for and used a check for the rest. *** An interesting note, you do not have the same consumer protections with Zelle as with a credit card. Do not pay companies with Zelle!!! *** Over the next two and half days I was forced to reschedule the various times we had agreed upon and they didn't meet any of reschedules. By Friday afternoon I was done with rescheduling and had no interest in the story Sarah (Mickey's wife and job coordinator) told me about how their shop had been broken into and all their gear stolen and whatnot. I asked Sarah for my deposit back and she said "our deposits are not refundable." So now, after four days of disrupting my family's life, I have the choice between losing my 50% deposit AND getting no work done or letting a company that I no longer trust into my home to do work. When Mickey finally does show up at 7pm on Friday (he was supposed to be there at 1pm that day) he tells me the pipe does not have to be moved and I immediately ask for an adjusted price because the scope of work is now vastly different than what was originally quoted and am told that they don't do that. Sarah tells me their system can't make price adjustments. In the end, I had them do the work, wrote them a check for the remaining balance, that should have been vastly adjusted, and got them out of my life for good. Don't let any of this happen to you!!! We contacted Tritan Plumbing because of clogged commode. Found out we had a collapsed sewer line that needed to be replaced. They gave a quote and the job was to start in 3 days. For the next 14 days we were told they would be here between 330 and 4 and everyday they were a no show. we we talked to the owner they offered us a $200 inconvenience fee. This is after having to find a place to go to the bathroom, shower, do laundry and eating every meal off of paper plates, cups and with plastic ware. Horrible inconvenienc! Looked me in the eye and lied to my face. Our kitchen faucet had a small leak, so we asked Tritan to come check it out. The plumber told me the leak was in the hose and that we needed to replace the entire sink for $700-$800. I was surprised and specifically asked if it was possible to simply replace the hose. The plumber told me a flat out lie: he said manufacturers don't make/sell hoses separately and repeated we needed an entirely new faucet. When I told him I'd have to think about it, the plumber suddenly remembered they did have a hose that might work. He offered to replace just the hose for $400. I was suspicious by then and declined further service, so Tritan charged $80 for the consultation and left. After a two minute Google search, I discovered that it's very easy to buy and install a replacement faucet hose (i.e., Tritan had lied in response to my direct question). I bought a replacement hose at our local hardware store and installed it myself: $25 and five minutes of work! read more

I have used Tritan for well over a decade for multiple jobs at my home. In January of 2023 I contacted them for a new water heater which required a $1500 deposit by me through PayPal, I sent the payment along and then had to cancel the job as a family issue came up. I contacted Sarah immediately that same evening and she indicated that the deposit had already been sent along to the supplier and she would work on getting it back for me. i though nothing of it as I had been a client of Tritan for over a decade after a few weeks went by with no response back from anyone I reached out to Sarah and received a text message back apologizing for the length of time it has taken but they had some family issues on their end come up so I waited again. hearing nothing for a few more weeks I followed up with multiple calls and texts to Sarah. Again received another text from her indicated that her or Mickey would be contacting me and nothing. I again reached out and received another text message that I would be contacted by Sarah after she had dropped her son of at a sporting event, again no call. It is now June approximately 5 months since this all began and I have still not received a call or my money back. I then decided to take a trip to their office in Plainfield and to my surprise the office was vacant with a few signs reserving parking for Mickey, I then went into a neighboring company at the address from their web site and the guys there said they have not seen anyone coming or going from the Tritan office. I them sent another text on June 14, 2023 to Sarah indicating that I was at their office to discuss my refund and still no reply back to call or text. I have used Tritan for a number of jobs over the last decade and to be treated like this is absolutely ridicules. My neighbor and I chose Tritan Plumbing from three candidates to fix our flooding with a backyard draining system. They installed underground 180 ft of pipe underground tied to city storm drainage in November 2020. In December 2020, we got a rainfall heavy enough to flood the backyard and found that the system did not drain. After numerous contacts over the past year and a half requesting Tritan Plumbing fix the problem, they have not so much as made a phone call to us. In October 2020 I contracted with Tritan Plumbing to have work done in my home. The following is the statement of work from the Tritan Plumbing invoice I received. Task #AP-1016 Description Connect Icemaker Install New Copper Tee And Install IceMaker Ball ValveShut-Off. Includes up to 15-FT of Soft Copper or Steel Braided Supply Line. I requested the steel braided supply line. I was shocked when I received the bill for this work which was $735.19 minus discounts of $98.52 which equals $636.67. After I received the flat rate invoice from Tritan I requested an itemized invoice and my request was denied. Tritan Plumbing is not transparent with their pricing. I have no idea how they priced Task #AP-1016. While the technician was at my home I observed him closely doing the work and the time spent doing it. At the most it took 60 to 90 minutes of continuous work. The Tritan technician did not have the parts in his vehicle to complete the job and needed to purchase them from a local store. During his visit to our home the Tritan technician spent nonworking time traveling to the store, time in the store, and time coming back to our house from the store. My husband and I thought that the time the technician spent to and from the store was excessive. I contacted a local parts appliance store and requested prices for all the parts listed in the invoice. The store associate informed me that the copper tee costs $5.00, the icemaker ball valve shut-off costs $15.00, and the 15 feet of steel braided supply line cost $20.00. I told the store associate the work the Tritan technician completed and the price I paid and was told that it was "horrendous." The associate said that the job should have cost between $250.00 and $260.00. I realize that service companies need to charge their customers double or triple the wholesale price for parts and I was willing to pay that amount. A local HVAC and plumbing business told me the job should have cost between $250.00 to $300.00 and take 25 minutes to one hour to complete. I researched the average hourly rate for plumbers in my zip code for the type of work performed. According to https://plumbers.promatcher.com/ the current average hourly rate for my zip code is $82.04 per hour (plus parts and materials) (Range: $76.86 - $87.21). Tritan Plumbing excessively overcharged us for the work they completed. Tritan Plumbing also threatens to sue customers who write negative comments or remarks about the company on any website. The following is taken verbatim from the Tritan Plumbing estimate, "If leaving a review on any website I cannot to constitute defamation the Tritan Plumbing name with negative comments or remarks, if I do Tritan Plumbing can sue for libel. The purchaser takes full responsibility for attorney's fees and court costs should it become necessary to sue for payment of this invoice." The customer is required to sign this statement for the work to be completed. This is a direct violation of The Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA). The following is a verbatim statement from the (CRFA), "The Consumer Review Fairness Act makes it illegal for companies to include standardized provisions that threaten or penalize people for posting honest reviews. For example, in an online transaction, it would be illegal for a company to include a provision in its terms and conditions that prohibits or punishes negative reviews by customers." A bit disappointed with followup service of Tritan Plumbing. They originally installed a replacement outside faucet as part of an Angie's List promotion. This was done September 8, 2015. They did a nice neat install. The problem is a year and a half later (spring 2017) the faucet has a bad leak from the handle. This new faucet should have lasted more then a year and a half. I tried to tighten the front nut on the valve stem but no help. I contacted Mickey at Tritan early this summer and sent a video of the issue. I indicated to him that it wasn't their fault but a product issue. He responded and said send a copy of the invoice which I did. I haven't heard anything from him since. BEWARE!!! DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY EVEN AS A LAST RESORT. They were eager to come out to check out my plumbing situation, yet showed up 40 minutes late. The owner, Mickey and his sidekick were at my housefor less than 2 hours, and charged me $1,200 for JUST AN ESTIMATE. They snaked my pipes with a camera, misdiagnosed the problem, and quoted me $25,000. After we told them that we were going to shop around because that price seemed through the roof, they desperately returned saying they'd "only" charge $19,000 because I knew his wife. (no idea who she is) They also were pushing us to finance the full amount through their financing company. He said he'd come out to fix it on his own time and to not contact the company because they'd charge us. He didn't show when he said he would so we texted him. Used air to push it through improved slightly but could not rod it without removing the toilet. Had a leaking faucet, couldn't fix it. Left after paying another $178.00 so with the value of the Groupon over $300 in service. Called back toilet just isnt working correctly and they wouldn't even apply the service fee of $300 already paid against another visit! I could have purchased a new toilet with installation for less. Very disappointed in this company. They came out (they were late and I was their first appt) for a slow tub drain and told us they had to snake the line and it would be $240! They also said if they needed to do another line it would be another $240. I called another plumber and was told their charge would be $135 to snake a main line. I paid Tritan their $45 trip fee and asked them to leave. The other plumber was here in 45 minutes, found two clogs both at the very beginning of the pipes, fixed everything and charged me $65. I am sadly disappointed as I had hoped we would receive awesome service after reading previous comments. We called Tritan for a quote to move a gas line, I had even inquired about booking as I assumed after receiving the quote we would just go ahead and schedule. They did show up right on time, so I will give them that, and the scheduling process was super easy and Debi was really helpful. However, when the guys came to quote us they told us we would be unable to use the "$50 for $100" deal advertised here on Yelp for the job we needed done. Disappointing as this was another reason I called them. I was told I would have my estimate before they left the door. I did not receive it, and assumed my email must have been incorrect. I called and after correcting the email issue was sent the invoice for my estimate but not the estimate itself. I then emailed to inquire if I could receive an itemized estimate indicating the breakdown of service and labour to compare to my second company and ask for clarification on whether or not I could use the promotion as advertised. I was told they would check and get back to me. While that was Friday and this is after close of business day Monday, I have still not received my quote, nor a response on my promo inquiry and have already had my work completed by a different company. I feel ripped off. I paid nearly $50 for an estimate I never formally received. I have no problem paying for someone's time, but I do expect the job to be completed as paid for. Terrible. I had the plumber show up to my primary residence instead of my rental property - which could be chalked up to a clerical error. The plumber than visited my rental property; called me and said that he had to auger the line and replace the toilet valve. The accent was VERY hard to understand but understood that the work was going to be completed. I was then given a price of $445.00. I paid over the phone. 5 minutes later after the plumber left, my tenant called me and said that the toilet was still flushing slowly. I called the plumber back and faced a very hostile conversation that the work was completed even though the tenant said that the problem remained. He then quoted me an additional $200 to come back on site to look at the issue. I called the main office the following Monday and asked for another site visit since the issue was not resolved the first time. I was quote again an additional $200 to come out to the site. I declined the offer. $450 dollars later, I still don't have a toilet to use. read more

I purchased a 'deal' on Angie's List for them to come out and fix my tub faucet (it was dripping and the water was not getting hot enough). and my sink (P-trap was leaking in two places). Some young guy that spoke broken English came out - did NOT remove his shoes or put booties on - took my faucet apart and put is back on. Took the sink apart and told me I needed to replace the "nipple in the wall" for $200. I told him I wanted another quote so not to fix the wall pipe. He put my sink back together and told me he fixed the leak at the front of the p-trap. When I got home after work that evening, the tub faucet was still leaking and the sink was still leaking in BOTH places. I called for them to come out fix what was not fixed. They told me it would be FIVE DAYS. On the FIFTH day, they called to tell me that he never said he fixed the first leak on the sink (LIAR) and that if he came back out they would charge me more money. He was there for less than an hour and charged me $449 for the service but since I bought the 'deal' on Angie's list I was out of pocket $329 for plumbing that still needs to be fixed. I would not recommend this plumber to ANYONE!! I How many people do you know that make $449 or more an hour. Just to update: Cascade Plumbing came out and fixed my tub faucet by replacing two washers in the valve and they fixed my sink leak WITHOUT having to replace any pipes. They said the pipe was perfectly fine! Tritan was just trying to further rip me off by replacing a pipe that didn't need to be replaced. It has been a few weeks and my faucet is working perfect and my sink is dry as a bone! Cascade only charged $100 to actually FIX what Tritan 'tried' to fix. read more

Absolutely not clear about their services, gave us flat rates and then started charging extra for toilet installation (even though we bought them the new toilet--which he didn't say he would charge for until after the fact, and its not even on correctly). Didn't send over insurance papers either, then after giving us a discount, the technician says he won't give us a discount. Truly Unprofessional customer service and plumbing service. After we asked for an invoice to give them a check, they said they can't have one sent until check was received. I purchased through Angie's list an advertised special from Tritan Plumbing for a frost free outside faucet installed for $149. I pay Angie's list with my credit card. Amber Keltz from Triton calls me to schedule the appointment. She asks me if I want a Heavy Duty faucet for an additional $50. BEWARE, this was a warning sign I missed! Next we set the appointment, I tell Amber that I am off the next two Saturday's, is there an additional charge for Saturday? Amber puts me on hold to check with the office manager, she comes back and tells me it is not a problem, there will be no additional charge for Saturday. We set the appointment for Saturday April 9th 2016. The tech comes on Sat April 9th, installs the HD faucet in under 45 minutes. He gives me the bill. $200 additional!!! I am expecting a $50 bill for the heavy duty faucet. The tech tell me the $200 is in addition the $149 I paid Angie's List. So The $149 special is actually $350. Classic bait and switch. I tell tech I pre paid with Angies List and lets call the office. I speak with Debbie the office manager. This is what Debbie told me: "I am bad business. She (Debbie) knows what Amber told me, because Amber is new and she was standing right next to her." Triton does not care! I've read every negative review for them. I found this service on Angie's list. They Tried to charge me $450 for a shower cartridge. In his presence, I Googled the price for a Moen Shower Cartridge. It was $125. I said no thank you.
