We bought a new house and after moving in, we found that half (3) of our toilets and showers were backed up. My husband read the positive reviews here on Yelp and called Ambrose to come find the problem. It took most of the day and he ended up having to rip one of our toilets out, but he fixed the problem. I was assuming that it was going to cost a small fortune. When he gave me the bill I was SHOCKED! So much cheaper than I feared! He even left some epoxy for my husband to fix a leaky drain. -- so that I wouldn't have to pay to have him out again. I've never had a more honest person come and service something in my home. Ever. Living in a neighborhood with mature trees is great, except when it comes to tree roots in the sewer lines. When water came up through the laundry room drain and into our den, we called Ambrose Plumbing. The initial service call was uneventful and we thought everything was good to go. In less than a month, we had the 2nd flood - same culprit: roots in the pipes. Called Ambrose and was charged for the visit. Flood #3 occurred 6 days later -- roots in the pipes. It was very apparent that the owner was not happy to be there. He told me that he "had to" charge a service call of nearly $100.00. **After** I reluctantly paid the bill and signed the receipt, they wrote "Cannot Warranty" on the bill and handed it to me. The three trips and $600 later, we called the city. Using a camera snaked through the lines, they determined that there were still tree roots in the line and that we should be very cautious washing clothes, taking showers, etc., to avoid flood #4, until new plumbers come back to complete the job. Cannot recommend as they didn't finish the job and would not stand by their work ("Cannot warranty' is written on each receipt). Expensive lesson learned. read more

We called Mike right away and he came out despite the very bad rain. He figured the problem right away and helped us by lending us some tubes that he had on his truck. We had a plumbing emergency in the middle of the night on a Saturday (water pipe was running through a defunct water conditioner on which a valve burst - causing water to gush at full speed into crawl space - yikes and yuck). My husband and I were doing a DIY kitchen upgrade and we had installed all the appliances ourselves, except one...the sink. We had a double cast-iron sink with garbage disposal and after what we had gone through with the other appliances (Lowe's knows me by my first name) installing a sink seemed a bit overwhelming but we had a tight budget and determination. We did decide to call around and see what the estimates might be but came back in the neighborhood of over $250 for a simple change out. We decided to do it ourselves but on a whim I made just one more call based on yelp reviews and it was to Ambrose. The quote I received was for $140!!!! and they could come by later the same day!!! I warned Mr. Ambrose that I did have a tight budget and didn't want to waste his time if the project was more expensive so we agreed he would come by to give me a better estimate. It turned out my simple install required widening the actual sink hole which meant sawing, plus the garbage disposal had been installed incorrectly which required additional time and tools. I was nervous but their team did it without a complaint for the originally quoted $140. I am extremely impressed with their professionalism and their customer service, The best part is that my new sink is flawless and my marriage is still strong! read more
