He was courteous, professional and knew what he was doing. We set an appt for him to come out and jet the lines to clear them. 2 days later. Ted and Tony arrived on the day they said and got to work. They found and cleaned out our lines and installed another so that we could save a couple trees. Pricing was fair and reasonable. The work was excellent and done quickly and they absolutely knew what they were doing. Rob is very knowledgeable and has been very receptive to answering general septic questions that I have. Rob is excellent at communicating when he will perform the inspections, and he follows up afterwards with an email and a copy of his report in case the one he leaves behind is lost. We found Rob after we had a blower go out just after an inspection by another company. Rob came and replaced the blower at a fair price and we decided to go with him for annual maintenance. We cancelled the maintenance contract (just renewed) with the old company. We now get maintenance, not just a look and a report. Rob checks more than two previous companies, which include the original designer/system provider Syber-Aer. Rob has made suggestions and changes to our system that have improved performance. He has taken the time to explain his improvements as well. Most of them have been minor - not expensive or time consuming, and he has included them at no charge. So even if he is a little more expensive on his contract cost, he does provide a better value overall. I heartily recommend the service provided by Rob and Northern Illinois Septic.

After hearing nothing into the early afternoon on Monday, I called the office. The reception person said she would have a tech call me. An hour+ later, I had heard nothing back, and since it was getting late in the day I called again. Apparently the staff was on a "big job" with no idea of how long it could take. She wanted to push me off til the next day; I declined (this was why I called ahead!) She said, "I already waived the $100 emergency fee"...what emergency? It's not like my place was flooding, and when I called I didn't say, "I need a plumber in an hour" or something. It's apparently because "they wouldn't be in the area." I finally had her cancel the appointment. The new parent company is A&P Grease Trapping, and the Blue Whale number is now answered "A&P," which was confusing until I looked it up. But I do not recommend this plumber any longer; the scheduling and customer care needs a lot of work with this new arrangement.

Problem solved!!!! He was the only company out 10 companies that I called who were able to come out in less than 24 hours from my emergency call. All others couldn't make it for several days up to 2 weeks. Thank you so very much helping us out Grant. He also did not charge extra for coming out in less than 24 hours and did not take advantage of our situation. I highly recommend his company.
