So,…read moreyesterday I called and got "Matt" on the phone, and I made a fair offer on the bikes, so I might help my son by teaching him to ride. Road therapy. "Matt" took the offer to his "manager," and they responded by actually substantially INCREASING the price of the advertised bikes. I asked "Matt" to go to work for me and try to negotiate a reasonable deal, and "Matt" promised he would talk to the owner of the store and get back to me this morning. Matt never called me back. No counter offer, no negotiation, not even a phone call, in fact, I think they necessarily jacked the prices up on the bikes to intentionally discourage me from buying them, in that I am out-of-state. Since I used to write for all the major biker magazines, I can tell you first-hand that bike dealerships, especially Indian and Harley dealers, used to not only have a heart, but they were professional, and square shooters, and normally went out of there way to accommodate our vets'. I would not recommend Indian Motorcycles Boise to anyone, and I do believe their business model will eventually fail by treating customers so callously.

And I love that's he a young entrepreneur, and he's doing a practical job to fix things with his hands to help support himself/ his family and help reduce waste in our disposable mindset culture. And when you talk to him, it becomes clear that he has a generally good attitude and is customer-service oriented. I also greatly appreciated that he was patient with the extra time it took me to take the info he gave me and research more, and ask more questions, etc., to make sure I felt comfortable with the work that would be done, and the end price of $120ish was pretty reasonable, in my opinion, to repair a 10-year old Briggs and Stratton mower engine that had started leaking oil profusely when running and hot. I and my children have now used it a few times to mow the yard and it's working great! it seems a little harder for me to pull the starter cord than it did before, but it could just be me, because the children didn't say anything about anything being challenging in any way. They zipped right through mowing like they usually do. He gave me a heads up that he was in the middle of working on a side by side or something when I dropped it off just before July 4, so it took him a few days to give me an initial estimate. Then it took days before I got back to him with the holiday and visiting my mom elsewhere and everything. once I felt comfortable and paid Sam for the invoice, which he sent electronically through email, it was only a few more days before he told me it was done. A few other places I called were booked out at least a couple weeks before I could even drop it off, and it got checked out and repaired while I was elsewhere, so I wasn't home to mow anyway. And other places' hourly shop rates were definitely more! The whole experience was MUCH better than throwing away an inexpensive and repairable mower and then buying a new mower for 3 or 4 times the price of what I paid for repairs or for that mower when it was new, especially when a new main gasket and new spark plug and sharpened blade breathed new life into my current (basic but reliable) Weed Eater brand mower (yes they made a mower back in the day lol!!!). I had just barely changed the air filter so that wasn't needed. Sam answered all my concerns and gave me time to research others' use or not of RTV on the gasket, explained how his invoicing and payment processes worked in advance, etc. and I got it back cleaner than it's looked in years lol. Overall positive experience and I'll definitely take that or another mower to him in the future for repair or maintenance!

Ed is either not honest or not skilled, possibly both. We bought a new Firman generator that ran…read morerough and died under a load. He diagnosed as sand in the fuel. We use the fuel for all our small equipment - no issues. Sand in the gas is not covered under warranty, but Firman agreed to split the cost by covering new parts and we cover labor. We could live with that. After no call back from Ed for over 3 weeks we finally picked it up to have the exact same issues! Firman agreed to replace our generator due of the horrible service we endured with Ed.

They didn't have the tire I needed but mounted the tire a found at the shop next door. I had never been in before and they were very busy. The Yamaha factory demo semi was there giving demo rides and the shop was very busy. I came after 3:00 pm and they were able to get my tire mounted. The shop next door? I have spent well over $1000 dollars on gear and tires in the last year but they couldn't manage to take care of me.

Also, Don texted me and said I could bring it in sooner than origianlly scheduled. Don will pick up your machine at your house if you want, but I chose to bring it in myself.
