Consistently one of my favorite places to go for a pastrami sandwich.. They use Callicrate beef. It's definitely a bit of a dive, but the owner and her son are hard workers, friendly, and the food quality has been consistent for the last 10 years that I've been going here. The pastrami sandwich comes on a fresh roll with cheese, grilled onions, plenty of pastrami, and mustard. I usually get it to go so I can add a sliced pickle at home. They offer pickles, but they are whole pickles, which is too much pickle for my sandwich. Food and fries are made fresh to order and I come here about once a month and have never left here disappointed or hungry! We're in Colorado Springs for a couple of weeks visiting my son and we have a long list of eateries that we want to try. Anything that's a "mom-n-pop" place, not a chain. So far, everything has been delicious and this place is no exception! This sandwich rocks! I went with a basic ham and turkey hoagie while my husband got an Italian and he said his was equally delicious. We walked in during a weekday lunch. The place wasn't very busy so we didn't have to wait long for our order. The Italian sub was good but not outstanding. I enjoyed the toppings on the sandwich and the bread was very soft. We also ordered the Philly cheese sandwich. The meat was good but the sandwich had little to no cheese. The pizza sub was okay; wouldn't order it again. I would say the price points are better than the commercial sub chains in the area, so that's a win. The dining area is small so it's difficult to social distance. But the place seemed clean and they did well enforcing mask-wearing. I would stay the two individuals behind the counter were a little unprofessional as they were having a pretty loud and heated argument the entire time we were there. I would give 3.5 if I could. I ordered the Italian which was really good, and had a great Italian dressing, and I also ordered the Philly cheese steak which I was a bit disappointed with. The bread for both sandwiches were great, crispy and soft in all the right places, but the Philly needed a lot more cheese. It did not deserve to be called a cheese steak, it was more of a beef sandwich. Also, I got the hot cheese fries, they were pretty bad. Very soggy, seemed to be made from frozen drizzled in cheese sauce with Tabasco. I read Dan's review and honestly, giving a restaurant one star just for the wait is kind of harsh for this cute little establishment. It's definitely a hole in a wall but I think that's what I love about hidden gems like these. Perhaps some items take a little longer to make. I believe the owner is the only person working here so be patient. Afterall, patience is a virtue. I was recommended to go here after visiting Garden of the Gods and I'm absolutely glad I did! We had the italian sandwich and were both happy with it. We love supporting local small businesses rather then big chain restaurants. The sandwich was tasty and was prepared fast. Be aware though, that the menu prices have changed from the menu in the pictures on yelp. Saw this place while visiting my parents so I thought I would try. Having spent time in the Philadelphia area when my family lived there, I am always on the lookout for good hoagies. I got the #2 Italian Hoagie. It was OK. The meat:bread ratio is off from what I remember of Philly-area hoagies, but the flavor was good. The relish and hoagie peppers were good. I was underwhelmed by my experience here. A customer of mine was all about it so I finally decided to check it out. The two ladies working were very friendly and got my sandwich out quick, but it tasted like a typical Italian sub- nothing really stood out and I felt like there was too much bread. Right after I got there, a rush of high school kids came in, they were very obnoxious and loud. Because it's a tiny dining area, I couldn't get out quick enough. Years ago, when I worked off Austin Bluffs Parkway, I would stop in every now and then for a Trivelli's cheese steak hoagie. The bread and the meat were always so tender, the flavor was amazing! Tonight I stopped by on my way home and ordered one to go. After many years of not having one, I was hoping they still had the same quality. I could not believe it, It was better than I remembered! Made the mistake of going to this disaster of a location. I knew going in that it wasn't the Trivelli family, but it was close to home. The two people working (maybe husband and wife?) did nothing but argue and fight with each other in front of the customers. Even when I approached the counter to pick up my order, they were still arguing. When I asked if that is how they always acted in front of customers, the man turned the attitude toward me. As even told 'he did not ask for my opinion. I have experienced crappy customer service before, but these two were, unquestionably, the worst staff I have encountered in any business. Yes, have to agree Trevellie's has great tasting steak sandwiches! We stopped in there one night to grab a bite to eat before going to a workshop at the school. The place is clean and staff friendly. We had the cheese steak sandwiches and it was flavorful. We went back again and the owner cooked to order what we asked. A no-frill hole in the wall, but they're there to serve a good sandwich. And they do deliver on that. I've never had a Philly Cheesesteak, but it's everything I imagined it would be. They do use Callicrate beef, and everything was made when I ordered it. The bread is nice and soft. They use lots of meat. Not too much cheese, but it's nice and creamy and in every bite. And the onions are plentiful. Got it to go, and it was still piping hot when I got home. And the best part -- it wasn't greasy at all, which I was worried about.
