I ordered the French Ham and Brie Baguette. It was so damn good! A perfect balance of flavors and heated just so the cheese oozed. My husband ordered the Colorado burger. Black Forest Foods has some amazingly delicious food! I've enjoyed many of their burgers and sandwiches, as well as their very yummy Mac and cheese. The employees are very kind. However, I have gotten contradicting allergen information from different cashiers. I will say of the handful of times I've come while having a newly diagnosed wheat allergy, all but one time I've had no issues. They have gluten free options, but there are many points for cross-contamination including a shared fryer. Overall, still one of our favorite places! Black Forest Foods was a huge miss for us. First off, if you have impaired vision you cannot read the chalk board menu due to size, reflection and chalk color. The interior is tiny, some of the booths are practically in the kitchen and they stack boxes and trash next to you while you're eating. The ventilation is poor and the food smell is overwhelming. Service is lacking. Nobody is particularly friendly here; they acted like we were bothering them to order or ask for help with anything and they rush you out the minute they think you've eaten your last bite of food. Then there's the food itself. Ordered a classic burger, cooked medium. Came out beyond well done. Fries were cold. Bun was weird, their aioli would have been better suited on a turkey sandwich and the bacon was burned. My mom ordered the Reuben and it was so wet and soggy, the bread fell apart. Meal wouldn't have been good even if it had been cooked correctly - had to be an off day because this restaurant has great reviews, but we won't be back. read more

I am not a local, but our fabulous friends are. They took us to Black Forest Foods the first time we visited them in Colorado. So glad they did take us here because I ate the best burger that I've ever eaten in this lovely State. Order at the counter, find a table, and wait for your food to be ready. It was quite busy so it did take a while for our order to arrive. Was it worth the wait? Let me start with what my Wifey ordered. She chose to try their Elk Burger. Included in the burger was a 1/2lb elk patty, sage derby cheese, chipotle aioli, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. She was a fan of that burger. I tried a couple bites of it, and it did taste very good. It was worth the wait. I ordered their Irish Porter Burger. In addition to the beef pattty, the burger came with Irish porter cheese, grilled onions, spicy bacon, lettuce, and chipotle aioli. Wowza!! That burger tasted amazing!! A wonderful celebration of flavor in my mouth with every bite I took!!! It was more than worth the wait. By the way, we did try some of their other food as well. The tater tots that we substituted for the fries were delicious!! Got desserts to go and eat later. I do not know if they bake them at Black Forest Foods, but the carrot cake and pumpkin cheesecake were both yummy. Highly recommend trying Black Forest Foods when you are in Monument, CO. This was my second time going here and it was equally as delicious! Just an unbelievable selection of veggie, fish, meat options. The ingredients are high quality and portions huge. It was my friend's birthday and I was visiting him and his family. I had to order lavender latte first just to take in the menu board. It was extensive and everything sounded amazing. I must have changed my mind 4 times. There were 8 of us and we found a big table inside in the back. We could see the kitchen and everything they were making looked so fresh and delicious. One of our friends noted they put beautiful perfect fries in a wrap. Who'd a thought? I had a large Capriccio salad . The burrata tasted home made and delicious. There was pesto on top and a surprise roasted pepper/ tomato base on the bottom. Others had burgers that were huge - I know that whatever any of us had chosen, it would be a good meal. The staff were great. Explained things and brought our food quickly. This is a deli style. So, you order at the register and get a number. They have a full deli counter too.They find you when it's ready. I can't say enough good things about this place. My friend's wife says it's her favorite and I can see why. They came with great fries on the side. My husband also enjoyed their Bloody Mary. Their menu is vast, spanning from breakfast, soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. They also have a great little mini food market to shop from. Clean throughout with friendly service. They have a great outside patio. Be prepared for waiting for a seat if you want to sit inside. I stumbled across this place by accident while visiting Monument on a Saturday afternoon. Heads up that there isn't a lot of seating on the inside. There is a nice outdoor seating area, weather permitting. It was cold on the day I visited and the dining room was full in the inside. This is a nice European deli. They offer a small display of pantry products. I picked up a large container of Hot Spanish Smoked Paprika Flakes. I noticed that they also sell Vegeta, a Croatian specialty for your pantry. They also sell a nice selection of homemade products from a refrigerator. I will definitely return and purchase some of their soups and stews. Their menu offers a diverse selection of sandwiches. I ordered a Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich which is served with a side of fries. I suggest substituting the fries for a salad or other side. I love fries. However, it was a bit too greasy for me, between the sandwich and fries. Their fries are fantastic! I also absolutely loved the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich. They also sell an assortment of cold beverages to go with your meal. I like how they offer fountain drinks that are made with cane sugar. I also saw a diet soda for one of their fountain drinks. Of course, the fountain drinks aren't your typical Coke or Pepsi line. I can't think of the name but it's a legit brand. This is a great place to have lunch and take a stroll around downtown Monument. There is a nice ice cream shop nearby as well. I recommend checking this place out to shop for quality European Deli products or to enjoy a nice lunch with family or friends. Enjoy! read more

I keep getting the classic burger because it's so good. The portions are big enough to split with a friend. We substitute the fries with the side salad. I love that it' doesn't leave me feeling stuffed. Their dressing is also wonderful. I had the brewed coffee, and it wasn't too strong so I enjoyed it black. At first sip I thought it would need cream, but it was nice. Based in how busy it gets I'll bet everything is delightful. I wanna try their breakfast now. The customer service is friendly, even when there's issues with the register. I recommend coming early to avoid the rush. They're only open from 9:00 to 2:00, just breakfast and lunch. There's tables inside and out. I'd recommend coming when it's sunny to enjoy the flowers. There's street-side, parking lot, and public parking in the back. The shops around are also fun.
