I bought a large microfiber sectional sofa off craigslist for a very good price. Unfortunately, the couch did not seem as clean in my apartment as it did at the former owner's house. Plus when moving it into my new apartment, we had to drag the couch a little on the floor to get it through the door and so soiled the armrest in the process. If this sounds like something that happened to you, don't hesitate to give Trojan Carpet Care a call. They don't have sofa/couch in their name but rest assure that they will clean any upholstery, which includes your couch! The receptionist answered my phone call at 7:30pm and was able to fit me in the next day at a reasonable time during the day. It was coming close to the scheduled time and I was beginning to worry if they were going to be late and not notify me.....but to my surprise, they showed up right on time! I live on the 2nd floor and so the hoses from his van would not stretch to my unit. However, they do have a portable cleaner unit that he was able to put in my apartment and clean the couch. They did have to steal some of my hot water to put in the machine to use as a steamer but other than that, he came with all the tools needed to make my couch much cleaner than before. First, they sprayed a detergent/conditioner to loosen up the dirt. Next they scrubbed all surfaces of the couch to bring the dirt up to the surface. Then they used the vacuum/steamer to rinse and suck up the loose dirt. Lastly, he applied a stain-safe solution to prevent future spills from making a permanent home on my new clean couch. I followed him out where he poured the watertank from the machine into a bucket to show me the color of the water.......and it was BLACK! I'm not sure if its some sort of gimmick but I'm sure some of that gunk was from my couch. I've written this review a week after my service and am completely satisfied with the condition of my couch after it dried (which took 1 full day). The color is a shade lighter and even smells nice. Only drawback (and its not due to their service) is that the material on the couch may feel a bit hard/crusty after it dries. It just needs to be sat on or scrubbed slightly to break up the threads that have dried together. Overall, the technician that came was very friendly. I thought he was going to do a rush job because he wasted some time lugging the portable unit up to my apartment, but I could tell he took his time to get the job done right. I don't think their profit margin is as profitable on couches because their rates were one of the lowest I was quoted, compared to how much surface area they can cover with regular carpet cleaning. But, if they keep up the customer service and high level of cleaning, I will definitely recommend and continue to use them in the future! read more

We found Trojan Carpet Care from Living Social, and purchased the 5-bedroom deal for $75, as we had 3 bedrooms, a hallway area and den. We also had stairs, and Trojan charged us an additional $30. On the phone, Trojan had mentioned the stair fee and was up-front about it, which I like. When I initially called Trojan, I expected an appt a week to a month out, but they squeezed me in two days later. Yohance was super flexible with the time and called me the day of to confirm he was on his way. I really appreciated that bit of extra customer service as I am in and out of the house a lot. He really worked with my schedule and I could tell that was his usual practice. At 9 am, I was already his third appt! Yohance was very personable and professional. He even cleaned my rug as he was packing up and noticed I had one in the living room. He also kept asking where my cat was to make sure he didn't escape. Very thoughtful. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! First of all, they have no address listed which should have been my first red flag. I only hired them to clean one small pet urine stain on my cream colored microfiber couch, but when the technician left, all of the ribbing and buttons had turned black throughout the entire sofa. He refused to admit fault, and demanded that I pay him while he was yelling at me (I did not raise my voice once). I wrote him a check just to get him out. LADIES, MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT ALONE IF YOU DO DECIDE TO HAVE THEM COME TO YOUR HOUSE. I was intimidated into paying him before he hit on me. I called manager Yohance the next business day.
