I've had 5-6 cars done by Tropic and highly recommend them for people that keep their car for a long time. Jobs had minor imperfections here and there, but most people would never notice it. One of the cars I have has had their tint for 3+ years and it still looks great with no issues. Price is definitely on the high side, but you're getting a nicer job than most places. Parking is pretty bad, I had to leave my car parked on a busy side street which I wasn't too happy about. Other than that I recommend them and if your the type that sells their car within a few years or leases you could probably save yourself a few bucks somewhere else. read more

Day 1, pick up car at dealer. No Damage. Day 2, drop off car at tint shop. Passenger seat, door & window were never used between Day 2 and Day 25. On day 25, I noticed a neat not-so-little gouge in the interior passenger door panel next to the window while cleaning up car. The damage looks like it occurred while they were trying to press the weatherstrip at the bottom of the window down and an edge of the tool caught the panel. Stopped by the shop to ask about the damage (on the off-chance that maybe they'd say opps, yea sorry, we poked a hole in your new car). No luck though but no surprise really. I was told if I had noticed it and told them "like a day" after the tints were put on, then maybe it was damaged by the shop...fair enough, my mistake for not sitting in the passenger seat or rolling down the windows right away. Even though saying they had nothing to do with it, they were nice enough to help me try and figure out what might have happened in the three week period where not a single other person has opened or touched the door/window. I was told perhaps: 1) maybe one of my friends did it (but I wasn't joking when I said I haven't had a single passenger in the car during that time period) 2) maybe it came like that from the factory (except I inspected the car when I bought it the day before I dropped it off and there was NO damage) 3) there's no way tinting tools can make a gouge like that (the tools used aren't exactly soft, pliable rubber/plastic with rounded edges...add in some user error, well...) 4) maybe it happened when I took it to a car wash (...but again, tinting tools can't gouge but car wash tools can...) At the end of the day, one of the guys said it's "like $30 to fix". Yes, well, do you really want to, or like the idea of having to patch a panel on your new car even if it's just $30 (assuming it is), replace the panel for a few hundred, or just live with it? I recently brought my STI to Tropic for tinting. As mentioned the parking is a bit tight, but who cares? They specialize in tinting, not an additional service to many. You know the expression...Jack of all trades, master of none...so, Do you want some kid in the corner?..."Or" the guy that owns the place? These guys are masters of tinting, they were on time, prompt and professional. I went to a local eatery had a nice lunch and by the time I got back my baby was done. Alex and Frank "" did my job and they did a little something special to the back window no other outfit would of done. A very nice surprise I'll leave for you to find out, but let me tell you makes all the difference in the world. My brother in law will soon be set up with these guys as I told him...go no where else. Just had my Subaru BRZ tinted here and it looks amazing! This was my first time getting my car tinted and I didn't know what to expect. Frank was great and helped me decide which tint was best for my car. The guy has been doing this for 20+ years and he really knows his stuff. Waited a little over an hour and everything was done in pristine condition. Couldn't ask for anything better!
