I had my car in for service at Auto Connection in Gulf Gate, Tom and his staff always do a great and fair job. However, while the car was there a tow company backed up the car in tow and damaged my rear bumper. The tow company wanted to pay out of pocket which I agrred to. Tom recommened Tropical Auto Painting, which was the worst decision I made. After I picked my car up, my message center said service keyless entry. I googled what may cause the issue and it appeared that the computer needed to be flashed with an update from the dealer. I made an appointment with Sarasota Chrysler, after investigating the problem they discovered that there was a broken wire behind the bumper cover that was not fixed by Tropical Auto Painting. They also questioned if the bumper was replaced or repaired, because of signs that repairs were done from the inside. I told them that Tropical Auto Painting supposedly ordered the bumper from them. After looking into it they confirmed they indeed did order the bumper, however Tropical never returned the core for the $100.00 deposit. hmmm... At that point, I had 59,734 miles on my car. A couple of days later my while backing up my passenger side sensor was going off even when nothing was behind me. This is the same side of my rear bumper that was initially damaged and supposedly repaired. It turns out that the sensors clip that holds it in place was broken, apparently never replaced when the car was repaired. It just sat in the place where it goes but never was able to be secured. At that point I had put on an additional 30 miles. (59,764) It's also notable, I am the only person who drives this car. I brought my concerns to the owner Brooke, along with my receipts totalling $597.67. He took no responsibility for the issues that they either over looked or never discovered. Dealing with them nearly cost my $600.00 for something that never should have happened. The car was delivered dirty, the paint job was satisfactory, however there are alot of great collision and paint shops in the Sarasota area.
