I made a whole account here just to let you know that Gulf Coast Auto Brokers sends out deceptive…read moremailers and engages in deception to even get you onto the lot. If you get a mailer from them that claims you won anything: no you didn't. Even if the little pictures line up with a big prize, that is not at all how the "giveaway" works. The only winners are the handful of people who's numbers match a board shown at the dealership. In my experience, only one person will win each prize, while most if not all mailers will claim you won. The consolation prize that you legally won instead is just some random cheap stuff like a single lottery ticket. When I showed up and started asking questions, the salesmen shrugged it off and said "This is America, everyone does this". I sure hope that's not the official position of Gulf Coast Auto Brokers: "this is america so we rip people off just like everyone else must be doing". Hey Marcin, if you'd like to actually get customers, maybe don't hire salesmen who actively tell prospective customers that you're using deceptive marketing practices to get them in the door! During this whole ordeal, the salesmen were pestering me for my social security number, and were constantly trying to steer me into financing when I was very clear I was looking to pay cash. Overall a waste of an afternoon and gas, seriously stop with the deceptive mailers. Life is to short to waste on petty used-car salesmen like these. A second test drive revealed a passenger seat belt problem that will be properly repaired by giving the car back for two weeks. However, before taking the car for the first time, I asked John Steinhauser to open the hood (special handling with the'B') and, to my surprise, saw the upper part of the bumper broken (4" x 15" see photos). Obviously a shamefully HIDDEN ACCIDENT NOT DECLARED because there was no trace on the front of the bumper because also full repainted. I didn't like it, but John Steinhauser promised me that the bumper would be repaired FREE OF CHARGE along with the passenger seat belt repair. Today, still no bumper repaired despite several reminders. For a ZERO ACCIDENT car, that's horrible. So I give a rating of 1 which I would increase to more stars if this garage ENCORE kept its promises.

I was able to get in immediately. The advisor was very polite. The waiting room was spacious and clean with comfortable chairs, a coffee machine And snack vending machine. Within a reasonable time, my car was serviced. The advisor sat with me and went over all of the items that had been looked at (all of the major ones), which were also listed on a printed sheet along with suggestions on their expected life. The good news was that nothing else needed immediate attention and no one tried to push any extra services on me. I had some questions about delaying some of the suggested repairs and felt that they were answered honestly. My car was also washed and vacuumed for free.! Overall it was a very good experience!

I asked several times will there be "fees" added once I arrive? Driving 45 minutes to get there on a Saturday. Olivia assured me, no other fees, so I pointed her to the verbiage on the car listing on their website ( see photo ) it clearly states "no additional dealer fees" she says let me be sure, puts me on hold, to check with her manager, keep in mind she gets paid for every appointment that shows up ! She comes back on and says, yep, my manager says only tax and license plates will be added. Great ! I'm on my way, I get there the car is in dirty , ratty condition. But the price is good so maybe I can fix it up. After the test drive, the manager comes over with the "first pencil " $8000 higher in fees, lol lol, I explain I'm not buying your worthless paint protection bs packing, rust and dust, he says well , I know but we are a corporate store and have to offer it on every first pencil. The sales girl is embarrassed at this point, the manager disappeared like Houdini for 20 minutes and comes back with another pencil, it's down to $5700 higher now, lol lol, he says look " you knew that price was going to change " I explain about my conversation with Olivia, he says " well I'll have to have a talk with her !" Lol lol, this guy is priceless! I get up to leave , he says well, how much ? How much ? I say forget it you have no credibility at this point, as I'm driving out the poor sales girl get sent out to tell me we can do it for $5000 higher now, I leave, I'm about 20 minutes away and Olivia calls ! You can't make this stuff up, she says my general manager feels bad and wants you to come back, it's only $2500 higher now. Lol lol...I kept Driving, this my friends is the quintessential bait and switch, this is archaic tactics, old school, car dealership BS, this is why people hate buying a car, Honda of Sarasota you should be embarrassed, are you that desperate?
