After hearing all the rave about this place from my two friends who live and work in the area I finally stop by and it's awful to say the least. As I walk I'm there are two ladies behind the counter arguing with each other ( which never stopped the entire time I was there) I scan the counter and there's no food!!! NO FOOD it's 6:45 and all i saw was grits, potatoes and a woman brought out poached eggs. So I'm immediately disappointed. To make a short story long, I ordered grits and potatoes and she threw in a sausage patty (which ended up being the worst sausage I've ever eaten i literally spit it out.) This woman tried to charge me $9.66 are you crazy!?? I couldn't believe it No bacon No scrambled eggs No toast And you think this is a $10? Naw champ This is my first and my last time coming here. I asked about eggs and I was told 10mins. Come on this is a breakfast joint that opened at 6:30 you know folks are heading to work and can't stay and sit for someone to whip up some eggs. I'm sorry I have zero tolerance for this and I'm upset at my two friends who sent me here to ruin my Friday

Best mofongo I've had in a long time. Large portion, perfectly seasoned. My favorite!!

Let me just take the smell home with me. The wonderfully aroma of Spanish Caribbean spice and MmmmMmmmmmmm good food. Service was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Mangu Tres Gulpes was basically smashed plantains, eggs, cheese and salami, perfectly portioned and nicely seasoned. The Mangu is boiled plantains smashed, and the boiled starchy water added - this was not as nicely seasoned as i have had in the past and was runny. The pernil was to die for, nicely seasoned, shredded perfectly and crispy skin. The boiled yuca was tender and not oily, the cucumber salad was bland although fresh. The bacalao (codfish) was dry, - ask for them to put the sauce from bottom of the coat Inter over it. Lunchtime was busy, and this is sure to be a popular place due to the locals dining in this casual establishment. The morir sonando was a 10 out of ten - Wear your stretchy pants, the servings are more than adequate.

I ordered red snapper on uber they sent me a little note saying they ran out of red snapper and sent me this nasty dried fish. I didn't like it. This is the last time i'm ordering from here!!! money in the trash. You shouldn't just canceled my order if you didn't have red snapper!

Came for lunch around 12:30ish, it wasn't busy but then it got really crowed. We just ordered ribs, chicken, salt fish and maduros. We ordered small portions as we just wanted to try. They have lunch specials but we didn't get that. When I entered the smell of food reminded me of restaurants in Dominican Republic. The food was good, staff was nice. They have plenty of parking and seats. I forgot to take a picture before....guess i was hungry.

Everything I have eaten from here has been delicious. The service has always been good. The place is clean also. This was my second time going.

Great food here. Especially if you have little money. You can enjoy a great meal. The restaurant was a Caribbean restaurant before. Now is tropical cuisine with a bit Caribbean taste. The restaurant is displayed with trays of food for your choice of combination. I got a plate of Mofongo as a base and cucumber salad as side. My main dish are the oxtail. The oxtail is soft and fall of the bone. Very good. My friend dish is the king fish with rice. He like his dish because not many restaurant serve king fish. This is the place to go if you want to get in and out for lunch in 30 minutes. This restaurant will be the best choice. We also got the guava juice for refreshing drink. Our experience is great. I will be back for their king fish. They also has dessert I have not try yet.

It was good, but it wasn't as amazing as Mangú Latin Café (the previous Dominican restaurant that occupied the same space). I really miss their food. I felt that today's offerings at 4:00 pm weren't as fresh as what it would be for breakfast or lunch. The platanos maduros were dry, and not sweet. I tasted oil rather than plantain. The ropa vieja was good as well as the cucumber salad, but not amazing. The rice with gandules didn't have much flavor. The service was fast and friendly. The price and portions were all very good. They had a big selection of items including goat and oxtail stew. It appears to be a popular place because there were a lot of people there (many of Latin American descent). I may go back and try something different next time. Maybe for lunch on a Saturday. This girl of Puerto Rican descent was a little disappointed today after trying their food for the first time. I guess I had higher expectations after reading all the reviews.

Very clean, excellent selection of great food. Stopped by to grab a sampler while my car was getting serviced. The meat was very flavorful & tender & fell off the bones. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Excellent service! Will be back!

First time ordering here through door dash. I was craving some of that Caribbean cooking again but something more accurate. King fish Mofongo was divine! Mofongo was very moist n the quantity was a lot! I split my meal down the middle n shared it with my mother. I dropped the ball and forgot to take a picture of the pork soup. Holy cow! That was sooo good! There was a whole chuleta (pork chop) just hiding inside the big tub! Very chunky pieces of vegetables to. I love it when they do that. Big tip, we always order soup with our Mofongo cuz the garlic tends to be strong. So we pour some into the mofongo to make it more wet n manageable. The king fish was well fried, instead of ending my craving I really was tempted to drive over n get like 4 pieces of just the fish. Well seasoned n not to salty. Fried well done. I'm definitely driving down there next week cuz I really want to give them a proper rating inside n obviously try other food!

I am beyond impressed with this place! Went in not expecting much but wow! BEST BAKED CHICKEN IN TOWN! Yeah I said it, and I stand behind it! While watching them plate my order I had to fight back tears, it was that beautiful lol! But in all seriousness, the food was delicious! I ordered the baked chicken, yellow rice, and some garlic potato things! All of which were amazing! I'm definitely returning back! And so much food for about 7.50! You can't beat it! Plus a free pop for checking in on yelp! (Always check in) ;) I'll leave pics below!

The customer service is phenomenal, love the dining experience, but this place doesn't really…read morescream a typical Jamaican restaurant, This is. a fine dining experience!!!!! if you're looking for a very nice place to wine and dine your spouse. Check it out !!!! You will have a blast if you are looking for a great time, been there atleast 5 times. The owners are so amazing, when will you all come to Atlanta

I hate I don't have better things to say about this spot that we were really excited to try. I will…read moresay that upon arrival, everything seemed to be going fine. The owner greeted us at the door, it was fairly empty so there was no wait and we were seated right away. The ambiance is nice. It does look like you've stepped into the VIP area of a restaurant, so it was cute -- not fancy, but cute. The owner then told us about the restaurant being inspired by his mother, they've been around for 10 years, explained the menu etc., it was nice. He also told us that he hadn't been to Jamaica since a kid and that raised an eyebrow -- but we let it go because he wasn't the cook. MIND YOU, I brought my cousin here (who is Jamaican) after seeing decent reviews about it. He brought over our first round of drinks and they were really good. We really enjoyed them. They weren't strong at all, tasted like juice. So I would recommend just getting juice instead of the +$5 to add rum. As we began to order and look at the menu, the prices were really HIGH, but I guess he was going for upscale cuisine -- so we said OK, let's see what this entails. We all ordered the Taste of the Island plater that gave an oxtail, curry goat and jerk chicken, rice and peas, plaintains and a tiny side salad. I wasn't mad at the portions given, but the flavor didn't hit the mark at all. NOW LETS GET INTO THE FOOD The Jerk Chicken was OVERLY spicy; we couldn't even enjoy the flavor. The oxtails were fatty, sweet and BLACK. Not enjoyable at all. The goat was OK, but not very flavorful in my opinion. The beef patties were good, but probably out of a box. The Roti was good and the oxtail dipping sauce was good. The Honey BBQ Wings were pretty good and cooked well. The Mac'n'Cheese -- DO NOT GET THIS. It literally has NO taste and reminded me of the cup mac'n'cheese that you put the powder cheese in. It took so long to bring it out, I guess he kept forgetting about it (they said everything is made to order) -- which, IDK how you make mac'n'cheese to order. Real cooks know, Mac n cheese is NOT a 5-minute made to order meal. He also didn't ask how we enjoyed the meal -- which I felt like he knew what we knew when he saw that not only did the other table leave a plate full of food (the meats) but our plates resembled the same -- he still collected his coin. There is a 20% gratuity that is added on at the end that is ridiculous considering the prices are already so expensive -- MIND YOU, it is not "Elevate Cuisine", its basic Jamaican dishes on Ikea plates. No special plating, no unique sauces or display, no chef's plating or anything. Just a plate of food. Everyone's bill came in over $100. The table nearby us order the same thing and inquired whether or not we liked our food, but we'd just gotten our food and hadn't tried it yet -- we did warn them about the chicken being spicy, but not everything else. They came after us and left before us and left everything on the plate except the rice and peas. I love black owned businesses and I wish this much more success, but I would NOT recommend it to anyone that is looking for authentic Jamaican food.
