On Saturday July 27, 2024, I called Parts, someone answered the phone and quickly said please hold. I held and eventually the call was ended. I tried multiple time with the same result. I called Service multiple times, and no one answered the phone. I called the main number and the receptionist answered. I asked her if anyone was working in service. As far as I could tell the only one working was the person in Parts. She transferred me to parts. Again, I was put on hold and the call was eventually ended. I tried service a few more time and no one answered. I called the main number and talked to the receptionist again. I asked her if I could talk to a supervisor or a manager. She said she was on the other side of the building, so there was no way to talk to someone. She transferred me to parts again. The same person answered and said I am alone today; I will call you back. Needless to say, I never got a call back. Monday July 29, 2024. I called parts a few times and was put on hold and the call ended. I called service several times and no one answered. I am in no way putting any blame on the guy in parts. You guys need to get your dealership in order. I was calling for something important. I guess that doesn't matter to the Tropical For team. One last thing, whoever was working in parts on those days, apparently, he was running the entire dealership by himself, GIVE THAT MAN A RIASE! for putting up with the incompetence of everyone else. Took my 2019 Ford transit to get new tires put on. I leave the dealership and within 2 miles one of the tire pops. They went ahead and fixed it but now the other new tire is also leaking air. I have to refill it every 12 hours Trish, the manager does not know how to communicate with her customers and the maintenance team is trash. They can't even put a valve stem without having it leak. I do not recommend this place. Just find a different service. read more

2011 F350 6.7 Diesel with 54,000 miles experiencing intermittent P0093 - major fuel leak, dropped off to Tropical Ford on 6/16/20. Truck has been experiencing P0093 intermittently under heavy load since I purchased it at 33,000 miles with no change in consistency or frequency over the 2.5 years of ownership. Truck had SCT X4 programmer installed ONLY for Speed Limiter function and as a diagnostic tool, there aren't even performance options loaded onto the unit. Zero change in P0093 behavior before and after 'tuner' because it changes nothing about the performance. There has never been a visible fuel leak, so the problem is relegated to a sensor malfunction or physical blockage of pickup lines, often including debris in the tank. I successfully self-diagnosed all of the fuel system electrical and mechanical components, but scheduled a focused diagnosis at Tropical Ford specifically to inspect the fuel tank for debris since I do not have the time to do it myself. No inspection of the fuel tank was performed in the six (6) days they had the truck. This is a work vehicle and I stressed the importance of having it back on the road ASAP, especially as a small business coming out of COVID. I called every day for updates and was told they were working hard on figuring it out and they were always on to something. Unfortunately for Tropical I have a hardwired GPS sensor that found the key was only in the ignition twice for a total of four (4) minutes on the 17th before leaving it to sit for 5.04 days until the 22nd, when I picked it up. Five (5) full days of lost wages when it was just sitting in their lot doing nothing, and over a week of downtime total. In addition, I now have to fix the problems they caused that were not there previously, which means more downtime as a small business. Tropical Ford, without asking my permission and during a purely diagnostic service focused on a visual inspection of the fuel tank, proceeded to change the software on my truck. Once installed, four (4) new CELs that I have never seen in the 2.5 years of ownership appeared. After damaging the engine, the tech then decided it would be best to stop working on it completely and return it in this condition. His professional recommendation was for me to reinstall the tuner that supposedly caused all of the problems, even though zero performance options exist on the tuner. Still, no inspection of the fuel tank was performed. read more

I have a mustang GT I took my car in to get my cam phasers replaced, as well as my timing adjusted, under warranty. They made my warranty claim, took the money and my deductible. My car still ran like crap so I to it to Ford of Clermont. Turns out Tropical for just held onto my car for two weeks, without replace the parts needed and took my money. Their work ethic is horrible and morals...non existent. If you're going here for service, steer clear from hear. They'll hold your car forever, clear the code and charger you for a service that isn't complete and send you on your way. Then not answer the phone when you want the issue resolved. Go in for a $49.99 "the works" oil change and tire rotation and you leave with a $112 bill claiming it is nearly $60 to change from synthetic blend to full synthetic (retail for motor craft synthetic blend is $7.99 a quart and full synthetic is $8.99 at auto parts store) Totally disregarded my request for a written estimate of the cost were to exceed $100. When questioned about the bill you are met with the I don't care attitude and the response of "good" when you indicate you are unlikely to return. read more

I got a normal offer for a Mach-E from Mullinax Ford which was standard MSRP for a vehicle hard to get, but had to wait a month. Went to Tropical Ford since they had it in stock. They are price gouging for $3k above MSRP stating it was shipped from NJ. As someone who has shipped from California to Florida for $900, it was clear they were lying. What's worse, I spoke to them ahead of visiting and they simply could've shared they intend to heavily inflate. We have been a service customer for years. They are the only ones who ever touched our 2007 Ford SporTrac. Friendly, fast service back in the day. They even service our two other vehicles and have been pleased with service. Well that has all changed. Took my vehicle in for a routine oil/filter change. Made an 8:20AM appointment online to "see a service representative". Arrived at 8:00am and checked in. The short pip-squeak rep service writer tossed a clipboard on the desk and curtly said "fill this out". I complied and he then asked if I was going to wait or pick up the vehicle later. Told him I was going to wait. He later made a smart-a#@ remark that it is going to take several hours before they can even take it. I replied that I made an appointment online at which he rudely said "that doesn't mean crap - we will get to it when we get to it." While in the service waiting area, I received a phone call from a salesman asking me if I wanted to trade my vehicle in TODAY for a beautiful new F150 Explorer. I responded that I am in the service bay to which he replied, "it's time to trade that old car!" (it is a 2017) They obviously "fish" for contact information from those customers having service performed. After 3hrs the vehicle was ready. Greasy fingerprints were all over the door handle and the steering wheel. Greasy fingerprints were also on the entertainment system display and on the hood. Back in the day, they'd put plastic over the seats and paper floor mats. Not anymore. For a $127.00 synthetic oil change I would have expected much more. I am escorted to the cashier window and had to wait over 15 minutes to pay. I asked to review the paperwork before paying and was told "Sorry, it's internal, I can't let you see it." If they would service the vehicle as fast as the cashier tossed the credit card machine on the counter, I'd have given them 3 stars. And I had to ask 3x for my Quicklane Service report. It was like pulling teeth! Time to look elsewhere for service. For the record, Elsie is the only polite service rep at the dealership. read more

Hector told me it would be 1 1/2 hours although I was there at 7:30 am. What the heck I waited my car was ready and I left this horrible place at 10:15 NEVER to return..... this is the worst dealership in the USA. I have taken my two fords to this location for many years and was always reasonably satisfied but they must have new management because it is now an unresponsive horrible dealership service dept. my last three vista have gotten progressively worse and the staff is beyond arrogant and unhelpful. I took in my work van because it wouldn't start. I knew it was the fuel pump connection, which is under recall by Ford. They called me to tell me it was the fuel injectors and told me the van won't start but I insisted and told them I knew what the issue was. All of a sudden my van is up and running. After making an appointment to view the truck, I called to verify the truck was still available. BDC Manager was off when I called. Salesman said the truck was $15,000 more than what I was quoted in an email. With the email pricing quote, Tropical Ford would not honor the price one of their managers quoted. For Quicklane Only-- The staff took the time to explain to me what they were doing and what I was paying for. And then what I needed to come back for and why. They knew I knew nothing and instead of take advantage of that made sure I knew exactly what I was getting and why I needed it and what all of my options were. Also, there's WiFi and sometimes donuts in the waiting are. My only complaint is it's always busy so you sometimes wait forever. For the Dealership side-- my only interaction was over the phone with someone named Lisa who called me multiple times in a two day span, never leaving a voicemail but eventually sent an email from a different person's account asking me to buy a car I already owned. Somehow my information submitted for a service appointment was given to sales instead. I responded promptly to the email but again received another phone call which o was able to answer this time. When I explain the issue she rudely said "oh well thanks for that waste" and abruptly hung up the phone. If I was in the market for a car, I won't be purchasing it here. read more

Went there a while ago maybe 3 months ago to get my tire patched. Fair enough they said they couldn't repair it but what really annoyed me is that they kept the car for hours to set up their "inspection." The service advisor called me and told me I needed a new set of tires which was completely false and that they took off my tires and said metal was showing. They would not take off all my tires just to inspect the inside ever. Anyways, you can see they even did a half ass inspection in one of my pictures. On the front tires they didn't even check the tread depth, they didn't even fill it in and just marked it as bad. So if you want to waste your time being played I don't recommended you come here. read more

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in the Service Center. I dropped off my car on Thursday morning at 7:30am for an appointment. I have to call at 4:00pm to even find out what is going on and they had just started to do an electrical diagnostic. It's like they forgot my car was there. What was the point of an appointment? I have only once received a phone call from them since Thursday...it is now Monday. I have been without a car to this point. I finally got through to someone for assistance and the woman who is answering the phone is the most helpful out of anyone! She has at least cared enough to talk to the technician and find out what is going on. Forget about trying to or waiting for a call from your "advisor". I haven't even met mine. He was late for my appointment on Thursday and someone else had to take my information, 15 minutes after my appointment. He left early on Friday without ever letting me know what is going on. They left a voicemail at noon but never followed up until I called five hours later. And then it was phone tag and leaving five unreturned voicemails. No wonder why the voicemail box of the Manager I was transferred to at first was full...they never listen to them. And here I am, on Monday, the part came in and the technician is finishing a different car then will work on mine....and it won't be ready until Tuesday... I understand issues happen and the need to get parts from backorder or other dealerships but the utter lack of communication is astounding. I only took my car here instead of my normal mechanic because of it being a hybrid. Next time I will bring it to my normal mechanic first and let them look at it. I'll gladly pay their diagnostic price to know if they can or can not fix the car before I am forced to come back to this dealership again. I had also asked for an oil change on Thursday...I have no idea if it is or will be done but at this point, just give me my damn car back. read more

I was then contacted by Brian L (the Manager) who was able to win me over. Today I dropped by truck off again to finally get the service I expected last week. I have been treated great the whole way through and am grateful for Brian stepping in to ensure his people are retrained. One year ago, I bought a brand new 2016 Ford Mustang GT from Greenway Ford in Orlando, FL. I brought my car in for service around November 2016 for the Microsoft Sync issues, defective quarter panels, and the rubber trimming around the windows that were cracking. They kept my car for one week, and when I picked it up the new quarter panels they installed were damaged, and they completely "forgot" to replace the rubber trimming. They wanted me to schedule another appointment. I expressed my concern to the service advisor that I live one hour away and did not have the time to keep coming back, especially when they already had the car for one week. I never had time to take it back. Fastforward to March 2017, I found that my rear differential is leaking really badly. I took it to another Ford dealership called Tropical Ford in Orlando, FL since I was disgusted with the previous service at Greenway Ford. I told the advisor at Tropical Ford all the issues that Greenway Ford did not fix previously, in addition to the leaking rear differential. Tropical Ford contacted me several hours after having my car stating that "the rear differential is seeping and just keep an eye on it." I told them I had no way of "keeping an eye on it" since I do not have a magical car lift in my garage. They also returned my car to me with the check engine light on, which was not on when I brought my car to them. When I asked the advisor why the light was on, he told me to bring my car back tomorrow. I filed a complaint with Ford Relations thinking they would help me solve these problems. Ford Relations contacted Tropical Ford about the issues I had. Tropical Ford responded by saying they will not service my car, and that I need to bring it back to where I bought the car from. Therefore, I called Greenway Ford to set up an appointment, and they told me they do not want to service my vehicle either. I have only brought my vehicle to each dealership once. My car is still covered under the bumper to bumper warranty, which is the only reason I feel they do not want to fix it. I spent over $40,000 on this vehicle, plus all the work I have put into it since I bought it; now these dealerships are refusing to service it. I never imagined I would have this problem from a car dealership in my life. I am proud to own my car but ashamed that Ford could treat their customers this way. Until now, no managers or owners at either dealership have returned my phone calls, and no one has helped me resolve this issue at all. Now I have to take the time out of my busy schedule to search for a Ford dealership who knows what customer service means. Do not buy from either Greenway Ford or Tropical Ford in Orlando , FL. I purchased my Ford Focus at this dealership so whenI had an accident last night and drove to the dealership. First I went Tropical Ford's Body Shop who advised me it was more mechanical. I went back to service and spoke to the Service Advisor, Donnie. When I explained what happened, he turns to me, looks me square in the eye and told me that either I or my partner had left a bad review on him and the dealership. (we brought the car there for a recall on the door locks and the car went in fine and when we came back the back door rattled) Therefore he would not help me. He had brought up the "other guy" several times. He knew that was my partner as he dealt with the recall while I was in the hospital. My partner was not with me so out of all his customers he remembered the "other guy" who was not even with me today. So whether is was the poor rating I gave him or homophobia I had to leave because I was refused service. Driving home, there was a loud noise and then my front tire no longer turned. The car was no longer driveable and had to be towed. Avoid this dealer at all cost. Whether personal or professional there is discrimination. Someone should learn from their poor evaluations not use them against a customer in their next interaction. I received lifetime oil changes with my car, now I am not going back to get something :"FREE" because I can not trust the service department and I will leave it at that. Trust me when I say FORD will be notified of how their brand is represented I find it ironic that when a good review is left for this dealership they respond to it.
