Brisket sandwich, burger, Mac & cheese, kale caesar, and fries
    Sydney H.

We have been wanting to try the new Tropical Smokehouse in Delray since it opened, so we stopped in yesterday. We parked next door in a lot with free parking, which was convenient. There was plenty of open seating inside since most people seemed to prefer sitting outside when we walked by. You can either order with someone at the front or use the electronic ordering screen. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich, and my boyfriend ordered the burger and another chopped brisket sandwich. The chopped brisket sandwich was good and had a generous amount of meat on it, though there were a few fatty pieces. It was served on a nice bun. My boyfriend enjoyed both sandwiches, but he was especially wowed by the burger, he's still talking about how good it was! The sides are $5 each, but you can choose 3 for $13, which is what we did. We got the kale Caesar, mac and cheese, and fries. The kale Caesar was good, but it could have used a little more dressing, so I asked for an extra side. The mac and cheese was pretty good, and the fries were nice and crispy. They had around five different BBQ sauces, including spicy, mustard, coffee, sweet, and white BBQ sauce. They were all unique, but we didn't absolutely love any of them. We'll definitely be back, though. They have a happy hour every day from 4:30-5:30 with $5 single burgers and 50% off drinks. The food came out quickly, and overall we really enjoyed it. Our friends also got the hot and sweet hush puppies, which were VERY good!

Holy smokes. Best burger I have ever had. Both my husband and I said it. I liked that we could order on the screen, sit outside with our toddler and try so many unique bbq sauces. They text you when your order is ready and have a great station to box up any leftover. The hush puppies were unreal as well. My toddler housed the mac and cheese. Perk of sitting outside is you get to watch pit master work his magic!

Came here Sunday night for a quick bite with my boyfriend at Tropical Barbecue, and overall had a great experience. I loved the variety of sauces they offer. He ordered the full rack of ribs and they did not disappoint -- the seasoning and flavor were absolutely on point. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese and the crinkle-cut cheese fries as well. The only downside was the brisket, which was extremely lean, dry, and lacked flavor. That said, I'd definitely recommend sticking with the ribs -- major Flintstones vibes (in the best way possible)!

Food was fantastic, full of flavor, and so many fun BBQ sauce choices! Crinkle cut fries were the best! Will definitely be back!

Everything I had at Tropical Smokehouse was fantastic! The pork spare ribs were tender, juicy, and tasty. The jerk chicken was amazing; the brisket was a bit dry but dipped in the sauces was great, the corn bread was slightly sweet, the mac & cheese was creamy. Next time, I have to try the pulled pork. It's not a large space, but there's a good-sized back yard. The outside of the restaurant stands out; red and white pattern.

I give them 4 stars for taste. I enjoyed my brisket sandwich, crinkle cut fries and tropical slaw. I thought the mac n cheese was just ok. Also good beer selection. Value is another story. Kind of pricey relative to portion size so expect $25 per person for a sandwich, side & drink.

Seen here full rack of pork ribs, half pound of brisket three sides all delicious

This was our first visit to tropical smokehouse. It was awesome.. Milo took our order gave us advice for a sampling of everything. Pork ribs were delicious. The brisket was tender and juicy. The sides were flavorful. The coleslaw vinegar base was delicious. Restroom was clean. Dining room was clean. We will be back. It's official Delray has a new barbecue source! See you again real soon. Thank you for quality food.

I've been to their a Palm Beach location and I am a fan. I recently order take out from their new Delray location. Much closer for me. Cool new location with a chill vibe. The jerk chicken was amazing. I like spice however this was mild and all about the flavor. It's a much try. It was take out so now I am looking forward to revisiting and dining in.

Wow, after a day of tennis at the DBO, I stopped here for dinner! I got it to go but boy was it delicious! They have 8 different sauces you can add to the sandwich, I tried the sweet bbq and the fire bbq both were fantastic! I also tried the Caribbean slaw and the fries both were very good too! Some bbq places I get indigestion from it, but not this place! It was wonderful! They toast the inside of the bun too!

Ate at their original location in West Palm years ago and wanted to try their new location in Delray. A funky building painted red and white strips. Asked which was better, the hamburger or the brisket, told the brisket. So I ordered a brisket sandwich, chopped brisket that was a little chewy. I like where it melts in your mouth. The fries were good but lots of small bits and pieces. Unfortunately not running back.

The 2 strips of Brisket I received for $20

I've been to the location in Palm Beach numerous times and food is delicious. Pricey, but good. Finally went to the new Delray location. 2 slices of brisket which is supposedly the equivalent of a 1/2 pound. 1/4 pound of that is fat for $20.00. From the portions and prices, I don't see them making it long. I definitely won't be back.

Nothing like the main location in WPB. A rundown hole in the wall. Brisket is excellent but the wings not so much. Parking is very limited.

The food is not high end steakhouse quality but for the price point, it's good. The prime rib can at times be slightly fatty but has good flavor and not all steakhouses offer it. Prime rib is limited so come early or call ahead if you want the rare/med rare. So why the 3 star review? This is more directed towards corporate. My wife and I won a 'dinner for 2' during a promo they were running over the holidays. When we came to redeem it, we found out it was actually only $30 off our bill. Even the manager was understandably annoyed that they call $30 off a 'dinner for 2' when most entrees on the menu are around $30. He said they haven't changed the amount in 20 years..... umm inflation!!! Look, this is all about setting expectations. Had we been told you won a $30 rebate off our next check, we would have been happy but that is vastly different than telling someone they won dinner for 2 where the average bill is around $80 and then telling them you're only getting $30 taken off the bill. You may want to update some of those marketing campaigns as they are not having the type of impact you are hoping for.

I was seriously craving some BBQ so after consulting with the oracle of goodness ( also known as my Yelp app) we ventured out. It is a very small place that screams authentic the moment you walk in the door. No frills. Repeat, no frills. This isn't a date night place oozing with ambiance. I could smell the pit as we walked across the parking lot and my Pavlovian response kicked in. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, baked beans and hush puppies. I know what you're thinking, it's a lot of food but hey, don't judge me...LOL. I was amazed at the portion size. There was enough pulled pork to make three huge sandwiches. The brought out a roll in a zip lock sandwich bag and I promptly made and devoured some heavenly pork. So juicy, smoky and flavorful. The hush puppies were so good...crunchy brown on the outside, sweet and tender inside. I was popping these in my mouth and at frenetic and calorically unhealthy pace. They are delicious but moderation is advised. The baked beans were good but the mac and cheese was not on par with everything else. That's the only thing that didn't knock my socks off. My friend had the fried catfish. "Excellent" he exclaimed! Again, the portions were huge. He had fried okra and collard greens as his sides and he proclaimed them "the ultimate soul food" side dishes. The service was homey, polite and simple. Nothing fancy, just right. Needless to say it was more than we could eat and we got to-go containers to wrap up the rest for later. I only hope I can survive the oncoming food induced coma in time to rally for a big weekend. Highly recommended for serious "Q" lovers.
