Solid bbq - good ribs and half chicken, great sweet potato fries. A little chaotic for pick up.

I only review nachos. Lucille's BBQ looked like it had everything going for it. Massive plate. Wall to wall cheese. Pulled BBQ chicken. Jalapeños with actual heat. Friendly attentive staff. This plate arrived looking like it meant business. Then my old nemesis arrived. The Tin Star. The metal tin this plate arrived on is a nacho heat assassin. By mid-plate the cheese had gone from melted to molten slag. By the end it was frozen solid. The Tin Star doesn't care about your $16. The Tin Star has only physics. Now the taste. BLAND. Here's what makes this especially frustrating. This is a BBQ restaurant. They had the rub. They had the drizzle. They used neither. The nachos tasted like someone forgot where they came from and what they were making. A light dusting of rub and a BBQ drizzle and this plate is a completely different conversation. The "pulled" chicken was way too large for a nacho chip. Not prepared for nacho eatability, more like someone thought kids tenders would be good on nachos. The chips were store bought, over-salted, and failed under pressure they barely deserved. The chicken wouldn't even lay on the chip, it kept rolling off. The Black Olive Gang showed up uninvited and refused to leave. They are outlawed in Nacho Nation effective immediately. The jalapeños were the only thing that showed up ready to work. they were plentiful and with real heat. We arrived just in time for early bird dinner special. This was a Tuesday and the place was filling up. I had a beautiful and delicious dinner consisting of a half rack of baby back ribs, broccoli and carrots and a very sweet potato. It also included a bowl of split pea soup which was perfect on this cool Florida evening. This was the early bird dinner for $25.99 It also included a cocktail for 50% off. I also got an ice cream sandwich - yum Before leaving, we made a catering order for Super Bowl Sunday. No deposit was necessary. We will pick up prior to the game. Ordered a pork sandwich with onion rings tonight. It tasted like both had been under a warmer for the last 4/5 hours. I was disappointed. It even looked unappealing. Ate half of the sandwich and just a bit of the massive hill of onion rings. Won't go back. read more

We were seated almost immediately once we came in. The store wasn't too busy but it took a while for a waiter to attend to us. We ordered our food and it came pretty quickly. I would say the food is more quantity over quality. It's not bad bbq but definitely not a staple bbq location. We were a little disappointed that the brisket was a pulled brisket and not a slab of meat. That should be clarified on the menu. read more

We stopped in for a refreshing tropical salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and grilled chicken. It was the perfect thing for a warm sunny day in Delray Beach. In the Delray Marketplace was Lucille's BBQ restaurant and we wanted to try their chili since most BBQ places have great Ribs, chicken and chili. They put alot of thought into the decor with mosaic ceilings complemented with yellow sofas and flag painted wall murals. Well, one of the employees informed us that the chili was very meaty and great. We ordered the small cup instead of the large bowl, thank God. We sat outside on the beautiful covered patio and dug into our chili. Sadly, there were a few chunks of beef swimming in liquid and the only thing we could taste were the red beans (see pic) - no flavor and no spice except for the side chips that were great and crispy. It tasted worse than a supermarket bought chili. So to say the least I was super disappointed. Even though this adventure was "tasteless" I would give their babyback ribs a try. Some good deals - Half off all wine on Wednesdays and $19.99 half rack babyback ribs on Mondays. The wall display of assorted hot sauces was a nice touch for a BBQ joint. It's been awhile since we had Lucille's so we decided to stopped by since we were in the area close to Delray Marketplace and overall had a good experience. The cornbread was excellent, It was moist, slightly sweet, and one of the highlights of the meal. The chicken sandwich was flavorful and cooked just right. The chicken wings were good. The ribs, however, were a bit underwhelming and were overcooked. It lacked depth of flavor on their own and really needed the BBQ sauce to shine. The sauce itself was thinner than the traditional thick, smoky style you usually expect at a BBQ spot, so it didn't cling to the meat as well. read more

The flag paintings on the walls and the scent of tangy bbq ribs was amazing when I entered the restaurant. It was later in the day and not busy. The staff were friendly and ordered the chili which was bland tasting and watery, not sure much can be fixed about this. The outside patio was beautiful and at a good section of the marketplace across from the publix. read more

Baby Back Combo. GOOD. The Rib Meat easily fell off the Bone and seemed to melt away in your mouth once eaten. The nicely flavored Fries had a nice crunch to them. The Meal also included Cornbread and a CAESAR Salad. RECOMMEND. read more

I have been going here for years but had a lousy experience tonight. My sweet potato was burnt along with my brisket. Chicken was overcooked and dry. They must have changed management because there was a busboy walking around constantly asking if your finished yet so he can pick up your plate. I was dining with my wife and mother in law and we all felt the same. I won't be going back to this place. I am so disappointed. read more

Hmm-well it wasn't bad but it wasn't great and we were starving! First the service was excellent -friendly -quick and attentive. We thought both the onion haystack and fish fry was a bit bready -and maybe on the greasy side-not terrible but could have been better. The chicken -was fresh but slightly overcooked leaving it Dry. The concept was fun and place was busy so maybe we just got something below our expectations. My golf group are regulars there for lunch. Menu covers a broad array - great salads, BBQ, ribs, etc. Wonderful service staff - most of us ask for some changes in our orders - no tomato; extra bacon; cheddar instead of blue cheese, etc. Even for our table of 8 the orders always come out right. And don't forget to get some stamp on their loyalty card (2x on Monday). Six visits and 9.95 off the next meal. Can't beat it read more

Lucille's Bad to the Bone is a good place for BBQ RIBS AND CHICKEN AND the food is amazing . The place is small but they do not take reservations. The staff last night were not very friendly. The young adults working there were more interested in chatting than taken care of the customers. The service was nothing special. Today we tried the platter with bbq roasted chicken , shredded brisket and shedded chicken . It was amazing . Even the fries were hot and crispy. Got there in time for the early bird menu. The sausage and lentil soup was delicious. Baby back ribs meat fell off the bone. Only small gripe is that they didn't carry sparkling water, but don't worry I had a beer from the comprehensive selection. Service was quick and friendly. Attentive Without overdoing it. parking was easy. We were greeted and asked where we would prefer to sit. We were given several menus. On e menu was the daily special. The second menu was the dinner specials of the day and the third was the regular menu. Our waitress was excellent. Both my wife and I ordered Hamburgers. The burgers were done to perfection. The sides of French fries and onions were enough for four people. The waitress was very attentive. The owner of the restaurant came over to find out if all was well. As this was our first experience here it won't be our last. The bbq brisket was super tender and not fatty. The fries were hot and crispy.
