Tropical Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing
    Scott C.

We stopped in for a refreshing tropical salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and grilled chicken. It was the perfect thing for a warm sunny day in Delray Beach. The service was excellent and our server was the friendliest young lady. Add this to your list of wonderful choices for your dining experience.

    CHILI

In the Delray Marketplace was Lucille's BBQ restaurant and we wanted to try their chili since most BBQ places have great Ribs, chicken and chili. They put alot of thought into the decor with mosaic ceilings complemented with yellow sofas and flag painted wall murals. Well, one of the employees informed us that the chili was very meaty and great. We ordered the small cup instead of the large bowl, thank God. We sat outside on the beautiful covered patio and dug into our chili. Sadly, there were a few chunks of beef swimming in liquid and the only thing we could taste were the red beans (see pic) - no flavor and no spice except for the side chips that were great and crispy. It tasted worse than a supermarket bought chili. So to say the least I was super disappointed. Even though this adventure was "tasteless" I would give their babyback ribs a try. Some good deals - Half off all wine on Wednesdays and $19.99 half rack babyback ribs on Mondays. The wall display of assorted hot sauces was a nice touch for a BBQ joint. The bathroom was clean and had a modern rustic decor.

The flag paintings on the walls and the scent of tangy bbq ribs was amazing when I entered the restaurant. It was later in the day and not busy. The staff were friendly and ordered the chili which was bland tasting and watery, not sure much can be fixed about this. The outside patio was beautiful and at a good section of the marketplace across from the publix.

    Rib Combo.

Baby Back Combo. GOOD. The Rib Meat easily fell off the Bone and seemed to melt away in your mouth once eaten. The nicely flavored Fries had a nice crunch to them. The Meal also included Cornbread and a CAESAR Salad. RECOMMEND.

Hmm-well it wasn't bad but it wasn't great and we were starving! First the service was excellent -friendly -quick and attentive. We thought both the onion haystack and fish fry was a bit bready -and maybe on the greasy side-not terrible but could have been better. The chicken -was fresh but slightly overcooked leaving it Dry. The concept was fun and place was busy so maybe we just got something below our expectations. We'll try it again at some point and order something like the ribs and burger to see how they come out.

Lucille's Bad to the Bone is a good place for BBQ RIBS AND CHICKEN AND the food is amazing . The place is small but they do not take reservations. The staff last night were not very friendly. The young adults working there were more interested in chatting than taken care of the customers. The service was nothing special. Today we tried the platter with bbq roasted chicken , shredded brisket and shedded chicken . It was amazing . Even the fries were hot and crispy. The over all meal was amazing the only negative was the servers were not friendly and the service was not great.

It transports you to an Italian NY deli. The place is packed, bustling spot and that alone tells you everything you need to know. You know it's good when you walk in and the place is packed. We split the Chicken Cutlet Florentine and it was absolutely incredible. Heads up: the full size is massive, so splitting it is definitely the move and still totally worth it!! The service was super friendly despite how busy it was. I had my eye on the black & white cookie too because what's an authentic Italian deli without one? Sounds like my next visit to Boca includes trying more stuff!

The sandwich itself was good, made with quality ingredients and solid flavor overall. The bread and fillings were fresh, and you can tell they care about what they're serving. One small detail: I wasn't offered any sauce suggestions, and because of that, my sandwich ended up feeling a bit dry. I think a simple recommendation from the staff would've elevated the experience. Still, it was tasty and reasonably priced. The place is small, but it gets the job done -- very much a neighborhood deli vibe. Overall, a good, no-frills sandwich spot worth trying, especially if you're already in the area.

Laspada had a lit up sign in the window saying they're "open." I seem to recall Next Door Boca giving them decent reviews. I am a native of Philly, hometown of the hoagie. I thought I'd give this place a try. I ran from my car through the rain and tugged on the door....locked. The door hours say open at 11! So much for the lit "open" sign. They have outdoor metal tables and chairs under an awning. I sat at an outdoor table for ten minutes. I looked through the storefront window at a couple employees prepping and I read the wall menu. A guy unlocked the place at 11. I let a young family and several other guys go ahead of me. Guy at the slicing wheel waited on me. I ordered a small Mama Lastrada turkey & salami on wheat. There's about a half dozen employees behind the counter dealing with the assembly line of customers and sandwiches. Guy at the slicing wheel tells me one of the other guys will work on my sandwich. Okay. However, I can't move down the line because there's customers still lined up ahead of me waiting for their food. Slicing wheel guy looks up at me a minute later and asks what he can get for me. I look back at him waiting for him to recognize me from a minute ago when he already had sliced my order. No recognition! I repeated my order to him. Now he remembers me! He again refers me to one of his junior sandwich prep guys. I overheard him telling a busy junior guy, "This is just a small Mama on wheat" or something like that. Still, I can't go down the line because there's guy ahead of me had placed an order for 3 sandwiches. I swear to you that the slicing wheel guy asks me for a THIRD time for my order! By this time, I felt like I was in a Monty Python sketch. I repeated my order. Again, he refers me to a third junior associate (Manny, Moe, and Jack)? Finally, a young associate asked me for toppings. I had noticed two lettuce bins. One bin looked fine. The other looked a little brown. I decided to skip the lettuce rather than ask him to pick from the left hand bin and embarrass them. I also saw a black speck in the onion bin. It probably was nothing but I decided to skip onions just to be safe. I chose tomatoes, Swiss cheese, pickles and sweet peppers. The debit card reader asks if I want to tip. I skipped that. Price was reasonable. Hoagie was okay. The roll was soggy. Philly hoagie shops pride themselves on their rolls. I understand this is Florida, not Philly. I can appreciate this place is popular and busy. However, being asked for my order 3 times by the same experienced worker there left me feeling less than special as a customer.

She was checking her cell phone and I had to finally say good morning to get her to disengage from the digital universe. Her one staff member is shy and quiet, but very pleasant. The croissant is one of the few that I have seen that is not the Montmartre croissant, with the highest whirl and the soft interior with the more lightly flaky crust. This is the old school, highly flaky one. Very tasty, but small for three dollars. The coffee was excellent and as I asked for it. I still wouldn't come out of my way to go here. It's a very small step over Starbucks in the mall next-door. Star down for pour hospitality and somewhat dirty space. Rather than checking her cell phone she should be out there looking at all the crumbs on the tables and chairs that probably need to be cleaned up while her assistant is busy actually preparing food. She might be well served by putting somebody on the counter who is more suited to Customer Service. She warms up to a few people she likes, but you have to treat everybody with the same level of respect and grace. She does not. It's unusual, in Florida, to be exposed to someone who could give you frostbite, like a Minnesota January. Puts the mean into her demeanor. Cette attitude peut fonctionner en Paris, et à Boca. Elle ne fait rien pour m'amener dans votre établissement. Faire preuve de grâce et de gentillesse, c'est de l'or.

Unfortunately, the seating and service experience left a lot to be desired. The staff didn't seem to manage the seating efficiently. Our group of 6 was told we couldn't sit indoors because there weren't enough tables available, even though several round tables inside were sitting empty. If smaller groups had been seated at those round tables instead, the square tables could have easily been pushed together to accommodate our party. We ended up sitting outside in 93-degree heat with three young children. There was almost no natural shade (not even one full table was shaded on the entire patio) and no umbrellas or sun shades. It was so hot that we actually had to take the kids into the bathroom at one point just to cool down for a few minutes. On top of that, drink refills were infrequent, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. The food was excellent, but better seating management and more attentive service would have made a huge difference, especially for families with young children.
