I rushed over to this location right before they closed because I had the urge to indulge myself this evening. I wasn't close to the location where I go regularly, but I was able to search this place out and it was only about fifteen minutes away from where I was. My favorite smoothie of all time from here is the Jetty Punch which comes in at less than 380 calories. It's a special smoothie blend of strawberries and bananas and it really has captured my soul! I went for it again, and the cool employee who was behind the counter took my order and had it prepared in less than five minutes! My second favorite smoothie is the Blueberry Bliss, but the is one is definitely up their with the calories, so I can't get it all of the time. A friend of mine always get the Mango Manic and brings it to work. One of these days I will go for that one!

This place is the equivalent of Jamba Juice on the West Coast, which is a pleasant surprise. I always remember getting the classic smoothies way back, and these five you the same sweet taste. Might even be too sweet for some people (they probably add sugar), but it's a great place for a refreshing drink.

Several smoothies to choose from, but also wraps, sandwiches, and salads. I got the island detox green because I'm on a health kick, and it was surprisingly good! Will be back to try their array of both healthy and healthy-ish options.

I was excited to try the new "Tropic Bowls" from Tropical Smoothie, as the pictures advertised online looked delicious, and it was a good way to switch up my normal smoothie order. I ordered the Green Dream Yogurt bowl with no coconut, no honey, and pineapples instead of blueberries, as I thought the pineapple would taste better than the blueberries with the other ingredients listed. If I could go back in time, I would have stuck with the blueberries instead of switching to the pineapples, as my order came with canned pineapple chunks on top of it. Tropical Smoothie advertises itself as selling products with the freshest ingredients; there is nothing fresh about canned pineapple. I would have preferred not being able to substitute the blueberries at all rather than being served canned pineapple on an almost $10 yogurt bowl. I was highly disappointed by the quality and won't be ordering this item again, unfortunately.

This tropical smoothie is in a great location next to other shops and restaurants. There is parking in the lots which seem to always be full or street parking. We were greeted promptly and our orders were taken - I decided to try the super green Caesar chicken bowl. I always get the chicken pesto which is great also. My choice was very good and came out fast. I also got the açaí berry boost which is my favorite smoothie! If you donate $5 right now you can get a fob for 5% off for the rest of the year!

Lot of choices, pretty quick service. And they do have parking next to the building. Apple Pay is a plus. Minus one star since they only have one size for the smoothie and kid size only comes with 4 flavors.

This is a great healthy spot, not too many of these in the area. They have a good variery of smoothies and food. I've been here quite a few times now. Whenever i feel like i've eaten too much crap in the day, i come here for dinner to get some healthy foods. As a vegetarian, the only food option they have is the Hummus Veggie Wrap and it's absolutely delicious! I usually get the protein smoothie, occasionally I'll try other smoothies and when i see them on the menu with their beautiful pictures, i get tempted! It's a nice spot surrounded by smalls shops, restaurants and cafe. Plenty of seating area and plenty of parking. This has been my go to spot for protein smoothie, a bit pricey $7 but it's quite large and worth the price. Reminds me much like South Block in Clarendon but i think South Block is a little better in choices. I can practically get anything on their menu made vegetarian as for this place, they don't customize. Still rather come here driving 5 mins than drive 20 minutes to South Block. Most people come here to get to go orders, rarely you'll see patrons sitting around. It would be nice if they had some outdoor seating as its getting warm out. I'll be back for more smoothies that's for sure!

Consistently amazing! We visited Tropical Smoothie Cafe again when we were recently craving smoothies and we also decided to order the food there this time. As we did last time, I ordered the Paradise Point (strawberry-pineapple-banana) smoothie and my fiancé ordered the Peanut Paradise (banana and peanut butter) smoothie. The smoothies are all 24 oz (they don't have different sizea) and are very reasonably priced and delicious! We also ordered their delicious tacos! You can get 2 or 3 tacos and mix and match. I ordered the Thai Chili Steak and the Korean BBQ Steak. My fiancé ordered the Korean BBQ Steak and the Smoked Jalapeño Chicken (which was surprisingly not too spicy for him!). The tacos were delicious and the portion sizes were excellent. The service is also wonderful and very honest here. We ordered and paid for our smoothies before we decided to order food as well and the guy behind the cash register still gave us a discount on the food (you get a discount if you order smoothies with your food), even though it was a separate transaction. Very honest. They have a great business model of treating customers with respect and I admire that. We will certainly be visiting again! And hopefully soon!

I love smoothies and always come to this Trop Cafe when I'm in the area. Patrick has taken care of me on numerous occasions. He is always friendly and fast. I order so many different smoothies but love them ALL! I'm allergic to strawberries so I have to substitute a fruit. I love the Mango Magic, Orange Ginger Glow, and Sunny Day Smoothies. I've only tried 2 food items: Caribbean Jerk Wrap and the Chicken Pesto Flatbread (no balsamic drizzle) . I have always order my food there with the vegetarian meat. Pretty tasty! I Love Miss Vickies chips. This is the only place I have been able to find them. I absolutely love the BBQ and Jalapeño chips. I always order at least 3 bags with my order.

Capo Italian Deli - Old Town Alexandria…read more I reviewed our new Old Town neighbor - Capo Italian Deli - early in 2026. Time for an update. The deli is outstanding. Taking up a tiny footprint on the N. Washington Avenue thoroughfare, a few seconds from King Street, the deli delivers both hot and cold deli entrees, soft drinks, and salads. There's maybe half a dozen tables inside and a couple of tables outside, but from what I have seen thus far, most of the trade is with carry-out service, drawing from the excellent reputation Capo brought with it as it arrived in Old Town (the restaurant has siblings in Shaw NW, and Western Market in the District, Tyson's Corner in Vienna, VA, Annapolis and Potomac, MD). Fresh Philly rolls for those seeking a traditional hero sandwich, with go-to seasonings and all of the essential protein groups. My favorite is a large half roast beef half turkey with lettuce, tomato, and mayo (I skip the Italian dressing, which is part of the default, and I skip the cheese). I can and have made this $18 sandwich last three meals (so I ask them to cut the sandwich into three pieces), and the ingredients stay fresh for the next 24 hours. The last time I did this the sandwich fed me from 4:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., as I served as an election officer at one of Alexandria's polling places. Neat, trim, and completely satisfying. Just a point of concern: given its location, the opportunity to double-park while picking up an order seems to be just too tempting. This location, however, cannot over the long term sustain double-parkers. The deli is about 100 feet from the intersection of King Street and N. Washington Street. There is a dedicated lane for cars seeking to park adjacent to the deli. And then there are two northbound lanes on N. Washington Street. That's it - just two lanes serving one of the busiest intersections in Old Town. If a delivery-service car pulls up alongside one of the parked cars, all hell will break loose by drivers who suddenly find a delivery vehicle double-parking in front of Capo, leaving but one northbound lane open for however long it takes for the delivery agent to gather the order and beat it out of there. This happens with remarkable frequency, starting at about 11 a.m. and running throughout the day. That's not going to make good neighbors of Capo's nearby shops. Alexandria Parking has its work cut out for it, but here the rule prohibiting double-parking has to be enforced - it's both a safety issue and an issue of common courtesy. Doesn't matter if you think you'll just be in and out of the deli in seconds. We know it doesn't work that way, not always, and here - not even often. More often than not the double-parker will be creating a traffic hazard just by parking alongside a parked car in front of the deli. Please, don't do this.

This review is based solely on the customer service I received over the phone…read more I had placed a $62 order through DoorDash and chose Capo even though there are plenty of other deli spots nearby, because they normally make really good sandwiches. Unfortunately, the customer service this time was extremely disappointing. I called with a simple question about the bread since I have braces and needed something soft. The person who answered the phone was rude and dismissive, acting as if my call was an inconvenience. When I asked which bread was the softest, he cut me off to say they were "super busy" and could only change the bread on one sandwich, not both. I asked again for clarification, and he continued sounding irritated and uninterested in helping. He repeated that they had a line of people and needed to know which one sandwich I wanted to change. For the amount I paid, the lack of basic courtesy and willingness to answer a straightforward question was unacceptable. This will be my last time ordering from Capo in Alexandria, VA.

I've eaten at plenty of delis over the years, but Eddie's Little Shop completely surprised me with flavors I've genuinely never tasted before. The sandwiches here are incredibly unique, creative combinations that just explode with flavor in ways I wasn't expecting. What really stood out were the huge, fresh chunks of real mozzarella, paired with their homemade-style dressings, sauces, and condiments. It's easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. The portions are generous, the bread is spot-on. I'll definitely be back before my trip ends. And the sandwich itself? 2 meals, easily. Thick thick piles of meat and a shovel-full of mozzarella. Very chewy bread. I work up a sweat just eating this, there's so much labor involved. I ordered online from the Metro, around the DCA stop, and got a notification it was ready before I got to the King Street stop. Fast turnaround. Great little sandwich shop!…read more It's very popular at noontime. I took a break from my 4 hour long painting class upstairs in the Torpedo Factory to snag a bite. My timing was good, because I arrived right before a work group of maybe 10 people or so came into place their orders. In addition to a substantive sandwich menu, which includes both hot and cold sandwiches, there's plenty of beverage (including wine) and snack selections. Wearing an oil paint-smudged apron (FYI: the reality is that you're still going to get paint on your clothes even wearing an apron), I aptly ordered the Torpedo Artist. The Torpedo Artist is a hot Panini-like sandwich. You can select your type of meat, cheese and toppings. By default it includes lettuce, sweet peppers and deli oil. My sandwich was well-crafted with plenty of turkey and Swiss cheese. However, I didn't especially like this sandwich. I wish I had asked them to hold the deli oil because it was overly pungent with oregano. All I could taste in my sandwich was oregano. But older and wiser now, I know in the future that if I have them hold the deli oil, I'll end up with a great and tasty sandwich.

I asked one staffer what the password was, because Caphe is in one of those sections of Old Town where wireless access, like Verizon, is notoriously poor. The guy gave me some garbled answer and walked away. Alrighty, so I asked another staffer and he said he didn't know what the password was and walked away. That leads up to my order of chicken pho. I asked for no cilantro and that same waiter repeated my request for no cilantro. But when the pho was brought to my table, the green in the pho looked suspiciously like cilantro. I asked the waiter about it. He looked at the pho and said it was not cilantro. I took a sip and quickly determined there was cilantro in the pho. When I tried to get my server's attention, as he was standing in back of the counter, he saw me and haughtily turned away. So, I took the pho up to counter and asked that my order be remade. To Caphe's credit, Caphe did correctly remake my order.. But the pho broth was brown and had an odd canned flavor. It just wasn't very good.

Having spent over an hour waiting for our food at this point, we decided to complain to the waiter, who was quite rude himself and seemed to have a major attitude problem. When we asked to speak to the manager, he rolled his eyes at us and brought over someone who called himself "Seb". Seb came over with a perma-scowl, his arms crossed, and then proceeded to curse and spew expletives at us before we could even explain the situation. His behavior really took us aback and shocked us at first as we had never been talked to like this at any food establishment, let alone at a supposedly classy place like Old Town Alexandria. When we let him know that his behavior was absolutely unacceptable, he responded with "I don't give a shit" and a nice "fuck you" as we left the restaurant.
