Coming from Houston, I had pretty high standards for pho, but Caphe Banh Mi pleasantly surprised me. The restaurant itself is small but cute and honestly gives off a bit of a New York vibe. There's also plenty of outdoor seating, which was perfect for us. I came with a group of 14 and we were seated outside right away. Luckily the weather was amazing, so it made for a really nice dining experience. The scenery was aesthetic and the service was impeccable. I ordered a customized pho bowl with beef slices, tripe, and tendon. The broth tasted authentic and flavorful. As someone used to Houston pho, I was actually impressed. I also didn't leave feeling super thirsty afterward, which usually tells me the broth isn't loaded with MSG. Their milk tea boba was pretty good too. My friend and I had the summer rolls, with the peanut satay dipping sauce which is the absolute best part. We both had the vermicelli bun, which is not a "bun" how you would think in American terms, but a very thin rice noodle served with your choice of meat. I did the steak which was juicy and tender. My friend enjoyed hers with the chicken. I will say if you're not familiar with some cultural aspects of this type of dining. it can be a little overwhelming. There was no real "friendliness" to the service, we weren't asked if we had any questions, if we had been there before, etc. The service was pretty much, what do you want to order *food*, and then "here's the check". Another amazing meal. I had my go-to lemongrass Banh Mi. Typical excellent service. It was such a beautiful February. On warmer days, I enjoy their sidewalk seating. The Banh Mi are excellent. The bread is always so, so crunchy. It was packed full of flavor. Sloppy Viet Bo Bam (spicy red curry ground beef) and the Phoenix Ga (Lemongrass Chicken) are my favorites. The space itself is not very big, but they make good use of all the tables. The filet mignon pho was good and the filet mignon meat was delicious and tender, however I wish the broth was a little more flavorful. I love coming here. It's one of the only Vietnamese places outside of Arlington that's actually so good and reminds me of the places in Philly I'm used to.
