I usually order from this Trop Smoothie through DoorDash as it's much easier to do than the app in my opinion. My go-to is the Chia Banana smoothie. Usually it's fantastic, but the last two times I've gotten it, there has been weird chunks at the bottom (thought it was banana at first, but upon inspection, it doesn't look or taste like it). First time at this location. Got Peanut Paradise with Pea without added sugar. Something about it though was off. Although I liked the amount of sweetness (e.g. not too sweet) there was a grainy texture that I think was the protein powder which I assume is just how it is. Maybe if I got the other peanut butter smoothie it would not taste this grainy and the texture would be better. But otherwise this may be how the smoothie is if you want protein powder in your smoothie. It wasn't a bad smoothie, just wasn't great. read more

The smoothies we ordered were perfect and we didn't have to wait long at all. Now I was charged for mint when i removed banana from my smoothie (should have just been a substitution) but honestly, it's a MINOR inconvenience. I am updating my review. Actually totally changing it because my opinion about this Tropical Smoothie Cafe location changed from 2 to 5 stars. Originally, I was upset about poor customer service plus my lack of knowledge about their food and smoothies. After posting my original review about poor customer service and my frustration, the owner of the Cafe contacted me about solving this situation. The owner went above and beyond to resolve my issues with my order and spent a good quality of time to make sure I was happy as the customer of his business. After returning to this location for my next order, everything was handled in very friendly and professional matter. Many popular businesses can learn from this business how to handle situations like this. Food: Originally I didn't know what to order and was unhappy with kids menu items. But! My 4 yo son loves their strawberry/banana smoothie and rice and chicken bowl they can make for you. My 14 yo plays hockey and he loves Thai chicken wrap with sun chips and smoothie: detox green smoothie, pomegranate plunge, triple berry oat (yam), and much more. My first review was influenced by poor customer service that has been resolved and I will happily be back to order more healthy food here. read more

Came here for the first time for breakfast and ordered a half sandwich and smoothie. I asked if the breakfast wrap counts as a sandwich, so if I could get it as a half, and the girl at the counter said "I think so". She charged me for (and gave me) a full sandwich. When I went back to the counter to clarify because I received and was charged for something I didn't order, one of the other people working argued with me about it being a wrap, not a sandwich, so not counting for the 1/2 sandwich deal. That's fine, but I wish the counter girl who took my order would have clarified or the girl who had responded had been less abrasive with me, as I didn't get what I ordered and was told something different. I love this tropical smoothie location, my favorite smoothie only tastes good here and one other loco. I WISH YOU GUYS WOULD ENFORCE MASKS FOR GUESTS COMING IN!!! Save your poor employees and their families who are working for $11/hour (slave wages) so all the Karens can drink the smoothie they could make at home. It's such a small space, no one is social distancing, no one is wearing masks. Every time I've gotten a smoothie from here in the past few months, I choose to wait outside even with a mask due to how people just don't care about others LIVES. It's clear that the American public are not intelligent enough and are fed misinformation, the businesses need to step up and enforce this. I go to this location almost everyday and it's pretty decent during the weekday. I think this is because an adult manager is there M-F. However, on the weekend there is a younger lady running the show and it's a hot fire mess. Employees were using Sharpie permanent markers to label the styrofoam cups and the result is that the smell of the marker overpowers the smoothie itself. This is one of the few locations I've been to that uses Sharpies versus crayons. That's not a huge deal, but that smell is nauseating while eating. Also, the same lady kept removing her mask to talk employees while adding ingredients to the drinks. A few seconds later, she pats her visor and hair with her prep gloves. Then, she dropped the top of the blender lid in my drink while running back to the station to add items she had forgotten. It was an unsanitary, potentially infectious mess. decided to try this place out for lunch. The beauty of a wrap is that it is self contained. here, they cut it in half which caused alot of the filling to fall out. Just don't - I have never had more of an hassle to order something for twenty dollars in my life. Place order online then get a nasty phone call asking if I had the credit card and I'd for the order. Go to pick up the said order then lady rudely asks for it again and then snatches out of my hand. Just not worth it. If I could I would give this zero stars. I was the only one in the place for a few minutes and put my order in. It took about 20 minutes for me to get my one smoothie while other people walked in and ordered just like I did and was given their drink in less than 5 minutes. The 2 ladies behind the counter were filling orders for pickup and not tending to the people in the place. Then when I got the smoothie it was all watered down. This has never happened at the other places. I will not be coming back to this tropical ever again. I'll be driving an extra 10 minutes to get better service with more experienced workers. read more

Well, I have a few recommendations about Tropical Smoothie Cafe. 1) Don't go here during lunch if you're expecting fast service 2) almost every smoothie has sugar added to it unless you specifically ask them to omit it. I've only purchased the smoothies, and they are quite decent. Pretty much what I expect in comparison to other TSC locations. The staff here seem to be pleasant, friendly and attentive. I usually go early morning, never had to wait more than 5 minutes for two smoothies and it's a quick stop for me. I especially love the location, easy access to the cafe and parking - makes it a very quick stop before my commute to work! Keep up the great work TSC. read more

Haven't been to a Tropical Smoothie in years but 2 days ago I stopped at the one on Telegraph/Square lake road. Cute inside, clean, lots of customers, employees filling orders in a timely fashion, etc. Loved my Detox smoothie!! Absolutely delish! Fast forward to today. Decided to stop at the one on WOODWARD in BIRMINGHAM for the same smoothie for me and one for a friend ~ because hey, when you've found something delish, you want to share it!!! WRONG. This place wasn't as clean behind the counter (yuk), there were only 2 customers sitting that ordered already and 2 inline ahead of me. It took over 20 minutes to get my 2 detox smoothies!! WORST PART~ totally different from the taste & texture than the one I had from the previous location. This one was watery and tasted mostly like the crushed ice; the previous one was super thick, delicious and filling!!!!! So disappointing. Won't go back to this location EVER. Be Well Cafe or the Telegraph Tropical Smoothie Cafe next time. I was so disappointed I had to warn everyone. By the time i left with my order there was a line (no kidding!) of 15 people waiting.
